A skin allows to apply an appearance to items in a grid. And items in a grid are from (custom) post type(s). So, naturally, each item (post) has different url. You can also set a custom link for each item in a grid.

Hi. I am using The Grid as part of the x theme and cornerstone, so do not have regular support. How can I remove the words “Private:” on my ‘post title’ that appear on my grid. I want the grid posts to be typed as “Private” so I can keep them separate from my blog, but I don’t want to see the words Private when the grid is displayed. I have tried using different skins and deleting the “The Post Title” element and adding a new one, but I always get the “Private:” before the actual post title. Thank you for your help.

Hi, I’m using this plugin as it’s bundled with Theme X. I have a couple of issues when using “Smart Podcast Player” shortcode on the grid item.
1. Alignment issue after shortcode is rendered The grid items are loaded and arranged first before the shortcode on each item has finished rendering. Due to this, after the shortcode is rendered, the alignment of the grid item went off. Grid items seems like it’s stacking on top of one another.
2. Load More isn’t rendering shortcode on newly added items As user click load more, more items are appended to the grid. For the newly added items, the shortcode isn’t rendered at all.

As mentioned on my message, seems like the plugin itself isn’t handling shortcode properly.

I LOVE YOUR PLUG IN, VERY MUCH, USE IT ALL THE TIME – ....that said. I am super frustrated as I’m sure many are that i have to spend hours figuring out th ordering system.
Why cant you make this drag order in the preview screen just like essential grid has theirs? I am wasting alot of time on this issue and I know you have an ordering system in settings but you have to search for image ID and its just confusing.
Also Im trying to figure why I cant mix media gallery images and post types together in same grid? I assume you are going to ask me to go to support – I just wanted to grab your attention on this. Like I said i have 6 plug ins – Justified Grid, Fat Gallery, Essential Grid and I use this so please know I love the product -just needs this missing huge feature!

The Grid have the most advanced ordering system which allows endless possiblities. Moreover, when using your WordPress media library, you can drag and drop your images to create a custom order. And, you can mix any (custom) post types together. So, you can easily mix your Media Library images (attachement post type) with your blog posts for example. All this is possible directly in your grid settings. To mix post types, you just need to select several post types in the drop down list under source tab.

I did set up a horizontal slider grid with one row and now i wonder if there is a way to set the hight of a row responsively and not only px fixed. meaning letting the hight scale with browser hight.
If that´s possible it would be amazing to not only have it scale with browser hight but making sure that the center thumbnail is always fully visible. meaning as soon as the hight scaling would lead to a cropping of the center image it would stop adjust the hight scale (and by that proportionaly the width scale) so that the center image is not cropped anymore.
Is that possible?

I’m not sure to fully understand what you want to achieve with The Grid. There isn’t functionaltiy to create a grid overview (The Grid already create overview of posts for example). It seems strange to have a functionality which will reproduce the same functionality of The Grid but in “smaller”.
Maybe you are talking about a lightbox with thumbnails? In this case you can use ModuloBox Plugin with The Grid to have a thumbnail “overview” of your grid items.

So it would be nice if your grid system while in horizontal mode would have this kind thumbnail overview. I mean just like your Lightbox example but not in a lightbox and with more options to arrange the thumbnails. Like a duplication of the grid in small. Or like a zoom out to see all at once. What you are describing is the purpose of a lightbox with thumbnails. The appearance/layout of a page should not change on the fly for the user experience. Moving/changing the main content/appearance of a page is a pain for the user experience. It’s better to add a new functionality/layout like a lightbox to have an overview of a grid/images.

The Grid works with WordPress post formats, so you will be able to attach a Youtube video to a post when a video post format is set to a post. Here you will find an example of all post formats supported by The Grid: https://theme-one.com/the-grid/post-formats/

The Grid works with (custom) post types. So, you can display any post type(s) in a grid. If the post type if correctly formated with a title, excerpt and featured image, then The Grid will be able to display this content in a grid.

The Grid allows to build grids from post types or social stream like Youtube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook, etc… The Grid will not create content/post on your WordPress install but display it in a grid. The Grid works with Youtube API in order to create a grid from a channel, playlist or video ID(s). There isn’t any reason to store content from a social stream in WordPress database when it’s possible to directly fetch it from the stream server.

In a grid, you can only set one source type at a time. You can’t mix post types with a social stream like Youtube. You can only mix post types in a grid for performance reason. Mixing several social stream will drastically impact the loading time.

Hi, i need to change language. first i copy the default po/mo file and change its name to tg-text-domain-tr_TR.po and mo. Then i translate some words to turkish i.e.: “Load More” and saved the file to the \the-grid\langs and it didn’t work. then i tried to put the po/mo file to the directory \wp-content\languages\plugins but it didn’t work too. My wordpress language is also turkish. What can i do to translate the plug-in? i used poedit program. Pls. help.

Okay, so I have read several comments about rendering a grid dynamically, but I still don’t understand if it’s the same as what I want.
I have post types of “listings” on a theme, and each listing post will have one category “agencies” for example. I want to create related listings on the bottom of every page but have it done dynamically based on the category that was selected from that post. Is that possible? I know it would have to be placed on a post listing template php file.

1) Your link is not working. With The Grid, you can set colors for any taxonomy term (categories, tags, etc…).
2) You can set the post type(s) you want to display in a grid. So, you can only set post or page or both at the same time.
3) The Grid comes with a skin builder which allows shortcodes usage.
