Yes, it’s possible to create complex queries thanks to The Grid filter hook. There is also settings available in The Grid interface in order to filter from metadata but it will depend of your metadata format.

I can provide some help, but I do not provide customization service. In principle, if your date is correctly formatted, it can be directly setup in the grid settings without writing PHP code.

Is it possible to set up a Grid to change the sort order (using custom meta data) at the same time as filtering? To be more specific, I have all posts in a Portfolio in a particular order, and then each Category in the Portfolio appears as a Filter. Can I also make it so when the user clicks a Filter, that it changes the sort order to an order specific to that Category? Thanks!

With The Grid, you can use custom field (meta data) to sort a grid. When a filter is selected you will also be able to sort like on this example: https://theme-one.com/the-grid/kampala/. The Grid filter buttons and sort functionality will only act on item present and loaded in a grid.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply, but that’s not exactly what I’m looking for. I don’t want the user to have to select from the Sort menu for the custom sort order to take place. I actually don’t want there to be a Sort menu at all — I want the custom sorting to happen AT THE SAME TIME as the filtering. Is there a way to do that?
Unfortunately, this is not possible to do a such thing. Filter and sort are 2 separate functionalities.

I can’t give an answer to such question because it will only depend of your needs. And importing Youtube videos seems not a good idea because it should it require to control how the video ID or iframe url is stored in WordPress.

Presale Question: By looking at the demo I see the lightbox opens media for ALL posts on the page, Is it possible to open the lightbox with media from only one post of the grid? It’s possible with a custom JS code (that I can provide on the support forum) to only open image(s) related to a post in a grid. Unfortunately, you can’t set a video gallery for one post. You can only set a images gallery as usual in WordPress thanks to post formats.

Thanks to the skin builder, you will be able to reveal any kind of content on mouseover. So, yes you will be able to reveal the excerpt on mouseover.
It’s also possible to set an action on click for any element. The action can be set to open a link or the lightbox.

I wanted to know if its possible within the confines of the plugin To have a grid created on a page that Youtube videos that are embedded in a post are 1. able to be played from that page? 2. Information and a HTML LINK are able to be displayed on that page? The concept is to have a page where reviews on youtube for product we sell can be displayed on that page with links to the relevant purcahase place and information other than that displayed in the decription of the you tube video ? 2) The Grid comes with a skin builder where you can display data from WordPress Custom fields. So, it’s possible to display additional information in a grid item from a post type.

About two weeks ago I created a masonry that displayed correctly (three posts per row). Yesterday I tried to create the same kind of masonry but it now displays only one post per row. Thumbnail is the right size but an overlay (when hovering) spans the entire width of the screen.
In preview mode everything seems fine (three posts per row).
I know that I am supposed to use the support system but maybe this is a bug.

You certainly have a cache issue or a plugin conflict.
