Hello,
I installed JIG and have the newest version of social gallery installed too.
But when I choose “Social Gallery” in “Lightboxes” – settings, there is no social-gallery-lightbox. It opens just die image directly.
http://www.photoroi.com/portfolio/michaela-t-01042012/Kind regards,
Klaus
Just to confirm, the Social Gallery is detected and selectable in the lightbox setting?
Have you tried other lightboxes (just to check)?
It seems that the setup is right. Can you ask epicplugins about this? If you contact me from my profile I can send the latest beta JIG that has a tiny bit more SG v3 support, perhaps it’s what you’ll need.
Hello,
epicplugins asked me, if I cannot rollback to a NextGen 1.9 version, but it would be great, if I could try your latest beta JIG before.
I will send you an email.
Kind regards,
Klaus
Hello,
sent you the mail from your profile.
Kind regards,
Klaus
Okay I’ll send that to you.
I sent it. If it still doesn’t work then a JS error is breaking other scripts such as lightboxes from execution on the page. Please try the other free built in lightboxes to see if any of them is not working (prettyphoto, colorbox).
I see these errors:
SyntaxError: syntax error <!DOCTYPE html> ?ver=1.10.2 (line 1)
Error: useless setTimeout call (missing quotes around argument?) ...ntage);},_scrollReflowContent:function(){var self=this,o=this.options,el=this.el… ?f=wp-...-min.js (line 165)
The latter is more interesting as it’s a BWP minify call that puts together all your scripts. Some plugins or JS scripts may not be compatible with this. Anyhow, in order to possibly remove this JS error you’d need to disable BWP minify plugin to have JS files load separately. That alone may fix the problem, but if it doesn’t at least we can tell which file has that “useless setTimeout call”.
Hi.
Thanks for all the great new features that keep coming.
From what I understand I can use the Instagram tag filter to add multiple tags to the grid, but is it possible to exclude images with specific tags?
What I want to do is make a grid from a specific tag, but be able to remove inappropriate photos somehow.
I would also LOVE a widget to display a mini-grid in a sidebar, with the same Lightbox options.
Thanks!
The instagram source works by selecting one tag. If the pictures have other tags, they’ll be available for filtering later. But generally you only select one tag.
There is no way to exclude a tag, but you can narrow using the instagram tag filter, which is available for all Instagram sources (most people use it to show photos from their own uploaded images).
You can just put a shortcode into a text widget. Set row height to something small like 50, and enable the ‘disable cropping’ setting. Create a shortcode with the instagram source in it and paste into a text widget.
Wow! Great with the widget! Thank you!
I know in the plugin Alpine photo tile for Instagram you can block users by username or id to prevent their photos from appearing in the grid. That would be a great feature for later releases, if possible.
Thank you for all your fast answers and help!
Nice idea I might add a blacklist or similar. I don’t have any ETA on a next version, I’m doing marketing stuff with the plugin now, as the latest version is fairly bugfree.
Please don’t forget to rate, thanks!
No rush at all, cool that you’re even considering! Thank you. 5 stars coming right up!
Thank you very much
Hi can I adjust the aspect ratio and thumbnail width or heights on a gallery by gallery basis?
Yes you can, each galelry can have its own settings. You can set the row height and height deviation. Thumbnail width setting is not available as it’s automatic depending on your row height. But you can use an aspect ratio so it’s more predictable. E.g. 1:1 aspect ratio with 200 row height will mean 200 thumbnail width.
Hi There,
This looks awesome. Considering a purchase, but on your DEMO – the Social Grid and Facebook pages do not come up – can you please fix? It goes to a host error page.
http://justifiedgrid.com/social-gallery/Seems to be working for me fine. Is that a cloudflare error?
Ah yes, thanks – it works ok. Yes, I think t said something about cloudflare…
Is SocialGallery included in this plug-in? Will email you.
I’m not bundling the premium plugins, you need to buy what you need separately. But the compatibility is mutually set up both ways with those plugins so it’s more than just an endorsement. No but I’ve thought of a sale concept, it’ll come out later as I’m working on a new preview site and will do some marketing with rebate or money back for a few random buyers weekly etc. Currently there is no discout sorry.
Is this plugin compatible with UPME?
What is that?
I’m not sure how you plan on using the two together but I don’t see why not they would not be compatible with each other.
Note that the shortcode editor is a tinyMCE plugin, if UPME does something like user editable content or similar, then the shortcode editor may not be available on the frontend.
Could each user profile have its own gallery?
Sorry I don’t have any experience with that plugin. If you can currently set up a WP gallery then JIG can take over that without any problems.
Okay, thank you for your help.
No problem.
I apologize if this is in the documentation somewhere. I did a search for the terms “browser” and “history” and didn’t find anything in the pdf or on the plugin’s website.
Is there any way to prevent the lightbox navigation from being logged in the browser history? If I click the “back” button after viewing a prettyPhoto gallery, I have to cycle through all the dynamic urls in my browser history before it will actually take me to the previous page. This creates an undesirable user experience.
Am I missing something?
thank you in advance for any help on this. And thank you for a wonderful plugin and wonderful customer support! I have rated you 5 stars.
- Colin
You can go to lightboxes tab, prettyPhoto section and disable deeplinking. The images won’t have individual URLs and they won’t be in the history. This is the only way, otherwise it’s standard browser behavior.
Hello, i am intersted to purchase this plugin but… I tried to like, tweet and +1 a photo in this url: http://justifiedgrid.com/preset-1-out-of-the-box/
1. The like does not appear in my facebook although it counts in the image when clicked
2. In the tweet the description is that of the page and not of the image.
3. The +1 in googleplus works but it shows the logo of the site as thumbnail instead of the image i am +1
Is this normal behaviour? Can these be fixed?
Thanks for your time!
1. Likes are in your activity log I think you need to approve/enable them to show on your timeline.
2. It’s standard behavior to add the page title to the tweet, do you think it should be the image title? You are the first to ask this, and prettyPhoto works like this by default.
3. I think it’s normal as I don’t think you can specify a certain image for +1s, like you can do for Pins, for example.
Hi,
When using shortcode to pull in from instagram on my home page, elements from my theme disappear. I upgraded timthumb to the latest version and no luck. There’s some conflict, obviously, can you look and make a suggestion? http://tenthamendmentcenter.com
latest posts, as you scroll down, disappears with the plugin running on that home page – plus a few other sections.
I don’t know what’s missing on that page as I can’t see JIG there. It could be because the theme animates/loads in the elements as you are scrolling down, this could break JIG, theoretically. Can you set it up on a different page if you don’t wish to leave your home page like that?
There are elements that load as you scroll, so maybe that’s it. I copied the page into a test. Not having the problem on mobile, but could you take a look and see if you find anything?
http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/test-page/Hmm, it tells me some kind of error in prettyPhoto, which prevents other scripts from running on the page. Contact me from my profile I got a possible solution for prettyPhoto ‘undefined’ errors.
thank you. just sent you an email through your profile.

Worked like magic – not only is this a pretty cool plugin, the support is above and beyond. thanks, Firsh!
I’m glad to hear that
Thanks. Please don’t forget to rate.
Hi Firsh. I’m using the plugin to display thumbnails for my projects. If you click on them, it goes to a new page and shows the entire project (text and images). I wanted to try however, setting the plugin to use the lightbox, so it would open a div with the hole project, instead of just an image. Is this doable? You can check the behance website to see what I’m talking about. If you click on a project, it overlays a div with the hole thing.
Right now, if I just set the plugin, I get a “Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist.” message.
Thanks
It can load it in an iframe, hwoever you need to link to the project page manually and add ?iframe=true to the link (into the JIG link field of the representative image) so you won’t get that error message. The entire site will be loaded in that lightbox however, so it may not be what you need without further modifications to your theme.
Hi. I must doing something wrong ‘cause it’s not working. Here’s what I did:
-I set the plugin behavior to Lightbox: video / iframe / different image
-Then I chose one project, and in the Featured image, I put the link followed by ?iframe=true and also chose Lightbox: video / iframe / another image as the target.
The ligthbox tries to open and I keep getting the same message “Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist.”
I even checked the manual on page 65 to be sure I’m formatting the link correctly. Also, if I mouse over the thumbnail, the link doesn’t seem to be updating.
Any thoughts?
Contact me from my profile and send me the link to the page where you are trying to do this.
Ok. Just sent you the info

Hi,
I have a custom post type, and for each of this custom post type, an image is added using a custom field. I am not using featured image. Is there a way to pull the image thumbnail from this custom field to the gallery?
Without modifying the code, no. It uses the featured image.
which code / page will I need to mofidy?
justified-image-grid.php, lines 6163 and 6206 but it’s not a simple change and I’m not available for customization sorry.
okay. thanks for the info, anyway
No problem.
Hi Firsh, for some reason clicking “like” using prettyphoto isn’t prompting a facebook interaction. Tweeting, pinterest, etc all work… but facebook like isn’t working?
http://www.paulchrisluke.com/portfolio/photography www.starrtalent.com/modelsIt seems to work to me, it just silently likes it, it shows up on your activity log on Facebook, with a small thumbnail of the liked pic.
My fault Firsh. I was looking for something to show up on my wall… I see it appearing in my activity log. Is there a way I can make my “like” through facebook more public?
I think that is determined by your facebook profile, I don’t know what setting it is or how to make it more prominent sorry. The like button doesn’t have any options for this. Either way it would only affect you and not other likers.
I just purchased FooBox per your glowing endrosement however after activating it and having checked the “Add full support for Justified Image Grid galleries. No other custom settings needed!” box, Justified Image Grid is not seeing Foobox as “active” and Foobox isn’t working with it.
Any ideas?
Do you have v1.7.1 of JIG? If not please update.
That was it thanks! For some reason I didn’t get an update notification. Thanks again for the quick reply.
You need to check the notifications checkbox on the downloads page here to get an email about it. Glad that it works now
Hello, how can i display a Flickr album with several galleries?
Can you elaborate please what do you mean with several galleries? It’s usually one Flickr photoset / favorites / group / gallery / photosream per each JIG instance, there are no albums.
With Flickr you can create a collection with several albums. So I want to display a page with multiple albums in WordPress.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jochenbake/collections/72157631655136376/Sorry that is not a feature of the plugin, collections and sets in sets are unsupported.
We are a football club and want to let all the albums from Flickr in 2013 on a WordPress page. Is there a way with JIG?
Thank you
Currently the only way would be to add each album to multiple instances of JIG, on different pages. The feature you asked is on the to-do so it’ll work like Facebook overview.
Hi
I am displaying list of facebook albums and after clicking on its goes to respective album images listing. I want to display albums listing with fix height and width of the image.
regards
Nitin Omle
Hi, you can make everything display with a fixed aspect ratio, find the aspect ratio setting on the general tab. There is no way to style the overview and the album contents differently as they are shown using the same shortcode.
Using WP, on my portfolio page… see: http://www.paulhelmick.com/portfolio/ right now this is just the genesis amp widget pulling one category of featured images on each post…
I post 2-3 photo’s a day…
I really want it to pull a couple of wp post categories from posts and then grid/tile them on the portfolio page much nicer like your examples and then just infinite scroll back
Can/How would your plugin do that?
JIG has a very versatile posts by featured images feature: http://justifiedgrid.com/recent-posts/ check out the screenshots at the bottom to see the settings. So yes it can do what you need I think.
The image should be displaying at the top of the page, but all is there is a few grey lines where the images are. I followed your video, the images are uploaded to the page and I’m using the default settings. What’s the problem? Let me know if you need WordPress login: http://pooke.annfredricks.com/galleries/little-ones/
Thanks!
I had to change the .wrap_image { to visible. Unsure why, but seemed to fix the problem. Still, let me know if there is something else I should have done!
I see no trace of JIG in the source of that page. Have you disabled it since?
No it seems you are correct it looks like a theme incompatibility that you fixed.
Nice! Thanks
Np.
Is it possible to show the image as full color on hover rather than how it is currently set? I looked over the options and did not see one.
It works like you want it to, but your theme or another plugin interferes with it and makes the image half transparent on hover that’s why you see it washed out.
Try adding this to the Custom CSS:
.jig-loaded img { opacity: 1 !important; }
That worked, thanks again!
Np.
Hi my lightboxes do not slide functionality. I selected PrettyPhoto setting and everything works perfect apart sliding functionality. Am I missing something in settings ? Thank you mac
PrettyPhoto doesn’t have sliding feature but PhotoSwipe has, which is activated on mobiles by default. If not, select it as the mobile lightbox or even desktop lightbox to see it in action.
If you wish to navigate between the images with left and right arrows and group them together enter gallery() instead of gallery to the link_rel setting. Not having brackets there ungroups them so there is no sliding or next/prev.
Please excuse my ignorance, but I looked all over the comments and couldn’t find an answer. I just installed FooBox and cannot seem to get it to work on my JIG gallery. I’m using preset 13. Do I need to use a specific shortcode to enable FooBox? I’ve checked the JIG button within the FooBox settings and changed the default lightbox within JIG to be FooBox. What am I missing?
Thank you! Brian
If you selected the preset in the shortcode then you need to select FooBox there as well, otherwise the preset brings its own lightbox choice. That could be it.
I figured it out. I had to install the latest version of JIG and now it works great.
Great!
How do I set an individual ID per gallery display? All galleries show id of #jig1. Please assist.
They have a unique class name like jig-7b910b930b147b70ddea72f86941696c this changes if you change the shortcode settings. If you have 2 identical shortcodes they’ll be treated the same classname. In one page multiple JIG instances will have #jig2 and counting.
Hi Firsh,
Instead of “Create Shortcode” button can we get a “Insert Shortcode” button that just insert the shortcode at the current cursor position?
Thanks, Alex.
It was like that before, and you could also edit it by just selecting, but when a WP update came and new TinyMCE was introduced, it broke it and I haven’t been able to make it again, but I’ll look into it once more.
