Hi! I hope you could help.. I installed, add the flickr App Key. I also have a user added. When I created a page, open the shortcode editor to refresh the flickr user to load the image I got this message:

You don’t have any resource on Flickr that this plugin could load!

I googled to find out if there was any help on this but I couldn’t find anything. Could you help?

Thanks

It could be that you incidentally set 25 as load more limit? Because there is also a default limit of 25 if you don’t set anything else as the ‘limit’ attribute of the General settings tab. This is to keep Flickr and your Flickr API access from unnecessary amount of stress. However, you can just enter limit=0 or limit=500 they should do the same thing. The load more feature assumes you have more than the load more limit as the total number of images. Keep load more limit 25, but enter limit=0 or limit=500 on the general tab and it should work. The 500 is the upper limit is imposed by Flickr.

Infinite scroll is coming in the next version, you might be interested in that :)

Infinite scroll is added now!

Hi it´s possible to add only 1 image centered? Thanks.

Centering: It’s added today’s update v1.4.9 – http://justifiedgrid.com/automatic-align/ Scroll down a bit to see it and the code for it. It uses margins and a custom fixed width.

Thanks a lot for remind this. I will try it.

Automatic centering is added in today’s update (v1.9).

Hello,

It’s me again. Is it possible to put watermarks on each image both in thumbs and in lightboxes?

Thanks

Yes, NextGEN gallery can do that and you can show the NextGEN pics with my plugin. JIG in itself can’t do watermarks as it’s not for managing pics, but for displaying them.

Hi, me again. With the change to Jetpack, my gallery page – http://pxpfoto.com/galleries – which used to be at 200 pixels in height which made for 3 perfect rows (all same height, each row exactly the same width) is no longer lining up the way it used to. I had to change the row height to something like 100 pixels to get them to line up so now there are two rows and they are different widths. Anything I can do to make them line up like I used to have them? That would be 3 rows all exactly the same width and 200 pixels high.

I’ve set it up in firefox, looks good to me! Have you tried ctrl+f5 refresh?

OK, I think that I have fixed the IE problem- I deleted the old mootools js file and uploaded the new one. Thank you!

Re Firefox, the gallery is still showing up differently than in any other browser – it’s not uniform. I have tried re-booting, re-fresching, looking at if from other computers, on a mac and on a pc in 2 different locations and the result is the same. I can upload a screen grab it it helps. Other ideas?

Glad you fixed that!

Okay a screenshot would be nice because it still looks the same for me in every browser.

I love this gallery. Does it work with columns instead of rows?

Thanks. No columns just rows currently.

Hi Firsh,

Just bought the plugin and have run into two problems…

1. The grids aren’t showing. I’ve checked timthumb permissions etc, but the grid does show when I switch to the twenty ten default theme. I’ve also tried putting the grid into a div with defined width. The divs for the thumbnails are generated, just not the images. An example can be seen here: http://henrypatton.org/jig-gallery. Am using cloudflare if relevant?

2. I’ve also tried to insert a grid of my flickr photos, but when I use the shortcode builder and click on my username it brings the error message “You don’t have any resource on Flickr that this plugin could load!”. All my photos are public so not sure what I need to do from here?

It looks a great plugin otherwise :)

cheers

1. Your theme or another plugin is conflicting with my plugin, as it wraps images in my grid into .imgHentry divs. Add this to your custom CSS or somewhere applicable:

.justified-image-grid .imgHentry{
position: static !important;
}
.justified-image-grid .linkIcon.enlarge-icon{
display: none !important;
}
.justified-image-grid img{
opacity: 1 !important;
-moz-opacity:  1 !important;
filter:alpha(opacity=100);
}

2. Try entering your NSID. In some cases when you add your username it could end up fetching from another user because usernames are not that unique on Flickr. I know a user who has a different screen name and a different user name, and if you enter a screen name that could be another user’s user name . E.g. My yahoo id is fiirsh because firsh was taken but I can use firsh as on flickr. Try with NSID: http://www.flickr.com/services/api/explore/?method=flickr.people.getInfo under useful values on the right. If it’s still not working, contact me from my profile.

Awesome, Firsh..both fixes worked out. Very happy :)

Sounds good :)

Firsh me again, im sorry to disturb you but I have a compatibility issue with the plug in i really hope you could figure this one out. Once its enabled all the other sliders from the main page of my site stopped working,

http://www.intermediahd.com.mx/

and if I deactive the plug in everything comes to normal. I’ve tried changing the jquery setting in the plug in and my main page only works with the default one, the issue its that my justified image grid gallery now dessapears :’(. Help please.

I’ve added this 5th setting to the upcoming version. Would you like to beta test it for me? It could also mean we can get it working on your site. If you are interested, contact me from my profile and I’ll send it to you. You’ll also gain a sneak peek at other upcoming new and interesting features.

Sure thanks. I’ll give you all the feedback that we can get out of it. Thanks!!

That 5th option is added in today’s new version, available to download now. v1.4.9! May I list you as beta tester? :)

Hi. No Gallery. Just this: The element is invisible or too thin. Tabs/AJAX sites are unsupported. (Justified Image Grid)

Please Help!

Thx

The next version will include an option to set a width. In your scenario the element in which the gallery should appear is a floated element that has no width upon loading. For now, try putting the shortcode in a fixed width div. Or change your theme’s css to have 100% width defined on content elements.

Custom width options are added in today’s new version, available to download now. v1.4.9!

AMAZING! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

I’m glad you like it :)

My gallery will not load and says this: All of the images have failed to load.

This is most likely a TimThumb permissions error.
Go to the Justified Image Grid settings, TimThumb & CDN tab. Click check permissions then click 0755 or 0777 to see if that works (or do it manually on the files and folders it lists there in case chmod fails).
Also read the troubleshooting guide in the documentation on what else to do.
Tip: If you are loading WP or NextGEN images, then install the official WP plugin 'Jetpack' by Automattic and enable 'Photon'. Jetpack enables you to connect your blog to a WordPress.com account to use the powerful features normally only available to WordPress.com users. It's an excellent TimThumb alternative and will make your images load faster. Note that you won't be able to use special effects due to cross-domain security limitations. It'll also make Justified Image Grid high resolution display or Retina ready by devicepx.js! Read more at: jetpack.me

(I have done the changing of permisions and it still isn’t working)

You are getting 404 not found for the images. http://timomaas.com/wp-content/plugins/justified-image-grid/timthumb.php?src=http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/s720x720/524050_10151577256012612_116803244_n.jpg&h=295&q=90&f=.jpg

Is this hostgator?

Do you see a lot of 403 or 404 errors? You have to add this to the top of the .htaccess file of your WP installation:

SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPost Off

Are you using HostGator? Contact their support to lift this restriction, send them these: http://support.hostgator.com/articles/pre-sales-policies/secfilterengine-and-secfilterscanpost http://wordpress.org/support/topic/timthumb-htaccess-fixed This can also apply to other hosts using Apache 2. Possibly also send them one of the rows from the browser console that is giving you 403 or 404.

thank you for helping so fast! it is hostgator!

Okay then their support will solve this for you.

Is there a way to set a fixed width to ensure the images are equally wide rather than them expanding to fill the size of the box?

There is no fixed width for the individual thumbnails to make them look the same aspect ratio. But a width setting for the entire grid is coming in the next version.

Hi, i want to usee all preesets with Social gallery, i go to edit settings and change the lighybox to Social gallery, Click over “Save changes” and never saves it.

How can i use social gallery with all presets?

Thanks.

Ok, thanks a lot.

If you are open to modifying the source you can remove the lightbox setting from being overridden by preset selection:

justified-image-grid.php around line 360 in the array of: $this->settings_override

add

'lightbox'             => $this->settings['lightbox'],

Each row should have a comma at the end, except the last one.

thanks a lot, but, too complex for me.

Hi I¿ve bought your plug in and I’m still trying to get it to work, every time I get this…

All of the images have failed to load.

This is most likely a TimThumb permissions error. Go to the Justified Image Grid settings, TimThumb & CDN tab. 1. My WP its ver 3.5.1 2. My cache folder has 777 permits 3. I have tried both methods of publishig like you said in your videos 4. I’ve changed the jQuery source in the plugin settings to each one of the 4 settings with the same result except for the default (that one doesnt shows anything.

This is my site where I was trying to build my first gallery

http://www.intermediahd.com.mx/?page_id=73

Hope you could help me. Thanks. :)

Hi!

The problem is this: http://www.intermediahd.com.mx/wp-content/plugins/justified-image-grid/timthumb.php?src=http://www.intermediahd.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/740142_410001895743020_1353835169_o-1024x683.jpg&h=230&q=90&f=.jpg

As it says, it’s still a permissions error. Apply 777 to all these files:

Plugin folder (wp-content\plugins\justified-image-grid) Cache folder (wp-content\plugins\justified-image-grid/cache) File (wp-content\plugins\justified-image-grid/cache/index.html) File (wp-content\plugins\justified-image-grid/cache/timthumb_cacheLastCleanTime.touch)

AND

the timthumb.php file also. This may be the key..

Hi, Thank you so much for this great plugin. I just would like to know if its possible when you hover the image that the caption cover fully the image? I would like something like this :http://mattbango.com/demos/hover-zoom/ Thank you for your reply JG

I’m actually working on that to be achieveable. The tricky part is centering the text vertically. For the full cover effect you can set caption background to be transparent, but have an overlay. This will result in a full cover but the text will remain at the bottom.

This feature is coming in v1.4.9 confirmed.

Vertical center is added, available to download now. v1.4.9!

Hi there, great plug in, it really works well and was just what I was looking for. I’m currently using this in conjunction with FooBox as suggested and have a few questions that hopefully could make things much easier for me.

I followed your video about how to make a gallery, that’s fine and it works. But, instead of selecting individual images through the add media page could I not just add a gallery that I had already made? Its for photography so you can imagine how many images I have, plus I had previously made a galley for each category.

secondly, If you go to my site and click gallery, you are shown a page with an image for each category, clicking on that take you to the specific gallery. Is it possible to have the first page as a justified grid gallery with gallery names as captions?

Any help would be appreciated.

www.benleephotography.co.uk

Since the video I added an option to automatically take over [gallery] shortcodes you can one click activate it on all previous galleries. It’s on the general settings tab in the plugin’s settings.

Yes you can create a launcher page and link images to certain posts that have other galleries. You can do this automatically with nextgen, or if you prefer WP images this can be setup with recent posts feature. You’ll need to have a featured image set for each galleries.. The gallery name (post/page title) will show up as captions this way.

Hi Firsh

When trying to Pin something on Pinterest I get the following message.

Parameter ‘source_url’ (value http://ignite-images.co.uk/social-events/asian-weddingparty-photography/#prettyPhoto[1]/1/) is not a valid URL format.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks,

Phil

Can you try to disable deeplinking in prettyPhoto JS settings on the lightboxes tab? deepinking: false,

hi again

how can i change default post ordering via justified image

its looks like it take the defalut order

thanks

There is an order by setting on the general tab.

is says that it only for images does it apply to post too

It works with recent posts too! It was added recently.

It doesn’t work with Facebok/Flickr/Nextgen (you can set up order for them outside my plugin). Random(shuffle) always works.

Hi this looks like an awesome plugin, but I have one question: is it possible to link images in the galleries to posts or pages instead of a lightbox?

Yes you can link them even automatically to posts or pages. http://justifiedgrid.com/recent-posts/

Or link them manually with a custom link to anywhere. E.g. lightbox iframe, video, any url in new tab/same tab etc. See under special usage: http://justifiedgrid.com/prettyphoto/

Hi! Haven’t chatted with you for a while as everything has been just fine until today. I had not checked my site for a couple of days. Just checked it now and none of my galleries are working. I tried updating the plugin, checked the timthumb/cdn issue and made sure files were read/write but nothing. Here’s a link to my gallery page and there are quite a few more that are not working at all: http://pxpfoto.com/galleries. Need help ASAP! I have no idea what is wrong.

I’m guessing Photon can’t pick that up. Even though it could serve any size image. It’s resizing them to be 640 wide. Which would be something like the default ‘medium’ size, defined by WP. Definitely ask kreatura about this as Photon is getting popular as it’s a really good free service.

I left them a message but will mention this as well. Thanks so much!

No problem!

I have two questions

1 – I am using the W3 Total Cache plugin with Minify enabled. Everything was fine but yesterday the galleries didn’t show up any more. What setting s are the best?

2 – When I click on the images most of the time the Lightbox pups up but sometimes its shows the Photoswipe option on my Mac (Safari and Chrome). How can avoid this from happening?

Thanks!

1. Add jquery.prettyphoto.custom-min.js to the exceptions. I’m using w3tc too but I’m only minfying CSS. It’s only getting broken for me on older IE browsers if you overdo minifying.

2. Do you think it detects them as mobile?

Thanks for your quick response!!

1. Added the exception. It works fine now.

2. Yes I guess. But it won’t happen to all of my galleries. Its totally at random and most of the time in Safari.

http://rommenphotography.com

1. Okay! I wasn’t so lucky with Avada theme and testing on IE7 shown errors so I had to turn off minify for more than just my gallery.

2. The best solution would be using FooBox that is good for both dekstop and mobile, so even if the mobiedetect script detects you as mobile user you’d still get the same thing on desktop since this lightbox can serve both: http://justifiedgrid.com/foobox/ if it fits the budget.

Anyway it won’t solve as to why the detection fails. Could it be that you have chosen photoswipe for desktop lightbox somewhere accidentally? Or perhaps you global settings have it as desktop lightbox, but you are using a preset in the shortcodes which overrides it. Then, in another instance you are not using a preset and the plugin falls back to the global setting.

Please check this page on that mac, to see which lightbox opens: http://justifiedgrid.com/wordpress-images/ It’s set up the same way, e.g. desktop: prettyphoto, mobiles: photoswipe. If it shows photoswipe for you on the mac, then it’s a bug in JIG or the detection script.

Or, try renaming and overwriting to this file in my plugin’s folder mobiledetect.php with the php from this: http://mobiledetect.net/ I’ll include the updated version in v1.4.9

I’d like your permission to show (link to) your site on http://justifiedgrid.com/see-it-in-action/
