Hello Victor,
I have events that I’ve linked with a custom post “Teachers”. The relation is call “rel_enseignants_events”. It was working fine with the filter, I could filter the events by teachers.
But then I’ve encountered a strange bug. When I create a new event, it appears in the filter with the teachers. So in my filter’s teachers list I have now:
- Teacher 1
- Teacher 2
- Teacher 3
- My new event
- Teacher 4
- My new event 2
- Teacher 5
Obviously, I don’t want my events to appears in the filter. Could you have a look please? I think you already have the credentials to connect to my dev website. You can have a look of the bug here, in the filter “Enseignants” list :dev.mudita.ch/events

We are not sure what you are referring to as a bug. If you create a filter from a taxonomy, custom field, etc., which has those terms in it, like:
My new event 2
My new event 5
They will be displayed in the filter terms. If you want to exclude some terms from a filter, you can go to the filter set > navigate to the required filter > “more options” > and use the include/exclude functionality from there.
Also, in the filter set settings under the “And what to filter”, there will be an option to hide empty filter terms.

In my filter set, I’ve created filters to be able to filter my event by category, teachers, location, etc. But in my “teachers” filter, with the meta_key to “rel_enseignants_events”, the names of the new event are now appearing. I only want the teacher in this filter. Why events name are appearing in the teacher filter list?

You can check this custom field rel_enseignants_events in the database to see what type of values it contains.
Also, please check this page about ACF custom fields, but it is working like that in general with all custom fields, and barely anyone adds functionality to clear it all when doing some changes to it – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/acf-and-fe/#important

Ok I figured it out why the events name where appearing in my teacher’s filter.
It’s because I’ve enabled the bidirectionnal relationship in ACF. I disabled it and it’s working fine.

We’re using Filter Everything Pro together with Divi and ACF to filter WooCommerce products by a custom field named edad_minima (minimum recommended age) for a board games shop.
We followed these steps:
Created a custom field (edad_minima) using ACF, set as a number field and assigned to products.
Assigned numeric values (e.g., 6, 8, 10) to individual products.
Created a filter set targeting the product post type.
Added a filter using the custom field edad_minima, set as a number-type filter with range display.
Inserted the filter using the widget on the shop page sidebar.
The filter appears correctly on the frontend, but when selecting a value (e.g., 25), no filtering is applied—either (the results always shows ALL the products in multiples of 24 per page.
Not all the products have the edad_minima set but for testing purposes we edited one of the products adding 25 as the minimum recommended age, but even then placing ages from 25 to 100 shows the 434 games on the site.
Ee’ve double-checked the meta key and field type. The URL shows some parameters, for example min_edad=24&max_edad=100
Please help us troubleshoot this issue.

Hi, thank you but it’s not working anymore. I decided to use only your plugin for filtering and added some other filters to the group (number of players, game time, categories) but NONE of the filters work. Then I tried to revert it but it still doesn’t work (the only filter that is working is the price filter which is not from Filter Everything).
NOTE: the results always show ALL the games (434) BUT the filters bar is narrowed depending on what you select, so it seems to do work on the filters bar but it doesn’t show the correct results on the content section.

Once you’ve confirmed everything is working as expected, you can add all the filters to the shop page. Be sure to test both options in the “And what to filter” setting: https://prnt.sc/oyKuKJQcgDaESelect one option, click the Update button, wait for the changes to apply, then refresh the page with the filters and test them. Repeat the process for the other option if it is not filtering products on the page.

The test page you created is working however we are still unable to do what we need:
This is a boardgame site, so each game has a field where we set the minimum recommended age for it. That means that if I set the minimum age for a game as 8, in reality it means 8+ (8 and over).
So, when people filter games by age, and they chose 15 as the age, they should get all the games that could be played by people 15 years old, which would be not only games marked as 15, but also all the games that have a lower value, as a 15 year old can also play games for 10 year olds for example.
We can’t find a setting to do that.

If you have a range slider for age, you need to adjust the maximum value slider, not the minimum one. If you set the maximum to 15 and don’t touch the minimum, you’ll get all values from 0 to 15. If you move the minimum to 8, you’ll get all values from 8 to 15.
Additionally, with the help of custom CSS, you can hide the not-required UI elements from the exact range filter. You can place your custom styles in the Filters > Settings > Experimental > Custom CSS.

Hello again. I have a page called Directory which is in my main navigation. I have an SEO rule created with an SEO Title (that’s supposed to go between the title tags in the source code) but when I am on the SEO Rule’s url page, it replaces my “Directory” navigation link with the full SEO Title, which is very long and not what I want. Here’s an example with the shop page:
1) Elementor applies a class on the products container – https://prnt.sc/27dCyZc57VeI
2) Use this class in the FIlters Set applied to the SHOP page – https://prnt.sc/AnIomMro5eTN
3) Now you can test it with the range slider by price, as the categories are simply all empty since you displaying one category on that page.
You can do the same for the other pages and filter set.

Hey, thanks. But the thing is, I don’t have a single shop page. I don’t use the WooCommerce shop page. I work with shop pages that always lead to a product category. I also use Elementor archive templates. So the Elementor Shop Arichive Template only works for the Product categorie “Überdachung”
So when i go to my filter sets -> Überdachung, this is configured https://i.imgur.com/gtmmJuE.png.

But the filtering doesnt work.

I just purchased the pro version, but need help with startup.
At https://educentrum.be/test-filter I want to be able to filter out our Woocommerce products. I am using a theme that does not allow widgets in Elementor. From there I do via shortcode. I want to filter on the product attributes. But on the page I see the error code that no filter terms are available.

In order to filter your posts/products, you have to display them on the page first via WP_Query (grid loop widget) in Elementor. If the page is empty without posts, the filter will not create them on the page.

The products themselves will still be visible. The include/exclude functionality only removes the filter terms. To remove certain products from that page, you need to modify the query that displays the products.
If you’re using Elementor, you need to modify the widget that displays products and apply the appropriate settings to show only the required ones.

Yes, after you applied those changes in the Elementor > go to the filter set on this page and hit the update button so it will start working with the modified query.

We simply went to the filter set, cleared the Divi cache, and clicked the update button. Make sure to wait until the page fully refreshes for the changes to take effect. Then, go to the page with the filters, reset it, and everything was displayed correctly.

I have the “Code Snippets,” “ACF,” and “Filter Everything Pro” plugins. There is a taxonomy with five attributes. Each of these five attributes has different variables (all ACF fields). Each product is assigned values in all five taxonomies.
Is there a way to build a filter that allows the customers to first select the taxonomy and then display and select only the values associated with that taxonomy?

Do you mean that you have ACF custom fields assigned to your taxonomy attributes? If this is the case, they will not work at all, you need to apply custom fields to your CPT posts.
After that, you can use the “Parent” filter settings. For example, create a category filter, then create a filter based on a custom field > click on “More Options,” select the parent filter, and choose the option “Do not display until the parent filter term is selected.”

thank you for the quick response. I am familiar with the behavior described, and it works for me.
However, I would like to display only one (!) subordinate filter after selecting an element from the taxonomy. My taxonomy has five properties, and each property has various subproperties.
I have created a separate filter for each subproperty. At the moment, all five dependent filters appear when I make a selection in the taxonomy.
However, I would like to display only one of the subfilters, depending on the selection in the taxonomy. Each product has values in all five taxonomies.
I hope I have been able to describe my question more precisely now.

You can hide empty terms from the filter, there is an option available for that under the “And what to filter” in a filter set. However, keep in mind that if the selected taxonomy has posts associated with it that contain other custom fields, those terms may still appear in the filter results.

I know and use this option. The displayed filters are all non-empty. That’s why they are displayed.
To explain again: I select a value from my taxonomy. Based on this, only one of the five dependent filters should be displayed. Currently, however, all five dependent filters are displayed as soon as a value is selected in the taxonomy (this happens because they are set as dependent filters of the taxonomy filter, which only appear when a selection is made in the taxonomy filter). So what I want to achieve is that only one of the dependent filters is displayed, namely the one that displays the values belonging to the selected taxonomy, not all five.
Should I add another example?

Ah, so basically, what you are looking for is the conditions to display an exact child filter after you select an exact parent filter term. Unfortunately, this is not possible yet. Currently, it is only working in general; when you select any filter term, it will display all of the child filters attached to it.

Hi I purchased the product on May 17. I cannot seem to get filters to work. I set up a filter set for price, categories and brands and want the same set to display on all pages, archives as well as my New Arrivals and Coming Soon pages(I bring info in with CSV and tags weekly). Site is built with Elementor Pro & Hello theme, so employ a Filter Everything – Filter widget under the Wordpress section.

Unfortunately, you cannot use a single filter set across all pages. Each page, especially singular ones, can have a unique query, and the filter set is designed to work with only one query at a time. In order to make sure the correct filtering, you need to create separate filter sets for each page that uses a different query.
If you cannot make the filter work on a certain page, please send the credentials to the wp-admin dashboard following this document so we can check it.

I have the problem. My website is built with Flatsome theme. So I added filter through shortcode.
Below filter, also through shortcode, I added PHP file, where is located WP_Query and PHP/HTML logic to output products. In filter plugin settings, I chose that WP_Query as “What to filter?”. Also, I added 3 filters to that filter: one by category, two by product attributes. Now, I saved the filter. On the page, when I open dropdown of filter by category, for example, or filter by attribute, it shows all options in filters as grey (meaning there are no products available for this option), but when I choose option, product with that category/attribute appears (I also use AJAX).
Can you help with that?

I want to add a filter on a custom product page. This page is a combination of woo product bundle plugin and woo composite product plugin, so as to have a mix and match result. So actually it is a product page which consists of products.

We have checked the site, and the issue lies in how the products are being displayed on that page. It appears the products are being loaded via an API or a similar method. As a result, there is a “loading…” process before the products become visible.
We’ve set up a testing page and placed the filter set you created on it. On our testing page, where products are pulled using the default WP_Query, the filter is working correctly.
You can check the testing page to compare the behavior. What we recommend is reaching out to the support team of the theme or the UX builder you’re using (we’re not sure if they are separate or together) to ask whether it’s possible to display products on the page using the default WP_Query, as we’ve done on our test page.
The code for the WP_Query implementation is placed inside the Code Snippets plugin, so you can review it there for reference and further examination.

Hi Viktor, I contacted woo plugin support in regards to this. Here is their reply:
The options you see for each component are fetched using a WP_Query, not an external API as suggested by the Filter Everything Pro plugin. This is handled within the WC_Product_Composite_Data_Store_CPT::query_component_options method, which extends WooCommerce’s core WC_Product_Data_Store_CPT class.
Third-party plugins, including Filter Everything Pro, can use the woocommerce_composite_component_options_query_args filter to modify which products appear in each component.
Here’s a helpful snippet showing how this filter can be used to hide out-of-stock items: https://woocommerce.com/document/composite-products/composite-products-snippets/#hide-out-of-stock.
As for the “Loading…” message you mentioned, this appears because both components and their options are rendered dynamically via JavaScript.
Since the goal is to implement live filtering of component options, any filtering logic will also need to happen in JavaScript. Composite Products plugin already includes built-in option filtering features! I’d recommend checking out the Options Filtering section of the documentation here: https://woocommerce.com/document/composite-products/composite-products-configuration/#advanced-settings.

The plugin uses the default WordPress WP_Query to filter any CPT (posts/products/events…) on the site. By default, WooCommerce also uses WP_Query for shop, archive, and other product pages, specifically for compatibility with WordPress themes and plugins. It is not using the WC_Product_Data_Store_CPT on those pages.
Using WC_Product_Data_Store_CPT instead of WP_Query can lead to compatibility issues. The WC_Product_Data_Store_CPT is a WooCommerce-specific class optimized for product data retrieval, it does not fully support the query customizations required for workability. The WP_Query provides extensive options and hooks that are essential for dynamic filtering.
We can only recommend adding an option in the page builder/theme to choose whether products are displayed using WC_Product_Data_Store_CPT or WP_Query on the page. This will provide compatibility with other plugins that rely on the default WP_Query behavior, rather than being forced into a single, potentially incompatible approach.
While this can be added in future updates, in order to work with the WC_Product_Data_Store_CPT, this will require changing the core of the filtering and how the filters are working in general. It is not just using a hook and this will make it 100% compatible with the filtering features. There should be a new mechanism to detect if the pages use the WP_Query or the WC_Product_Data_Store_CPT and how many of them on the page are used and work with the exact one and make sure it is all saved as well, not just a hard-coded solution.

The third-party theme/page builder should provide a WP_Query solution to display products in the same way WooCommerce does by default for its archive pages. It works well with the default WP themes and other premium themes and page builders, as they all provide a WP_Query solution for displaying the products/posts. If the theme is limited to only one solution and does not provide any default WP_Query to display products, it can lead to incompatibility with many features and plugins.
In general, a refund is possible by submitting a form through the account where the plugin was purchased and waiting for a response. Please note that the support team does not handle refunds. Furthermore, we have no control over the refund team and cannot speed up the process or influence it in any way.
