Hi,
I have a problem with the plugin PRO.
So, the problem is that the plugin doesnìt work with my Shop Page.
In “Apply filtering if the page is:” I selected “Common Wordpress Pages” (I also tried with “Pages) and then I selected Shop Page. At this point, in “And what to filter?” I can select nothing. The only thing that appears is —Select Query -- and I can’t choose anything. I tried with the Product Categories instead, and it works. I tried also to delete the Shop Page and recreate, but the problem is still there.
The only thing I noticed and maybe can help to debug: If a Choose Taxonomy->Product Categories and then I choose “Product query. Main query”, if NOW i go to “Common Wordpress Pages”->Shop page, Now I see the option “Product query. Main query” here. But if I save, and then go to the Shop page, the filter appear but all the taxonomy are at 0 products count.
Hi michaelcodogno,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
Most likely the issue is that you are using a caching plugin that caches absolutely everything, we would recommend clearing the cache, going to the filter set settings and choosing the correct query, and updating the filter set. But when you’ll enter a shop page it will use caching again. So you need to set up the caching correctly in order to make it all work correctly. But as for now, purely for testing purposes you can clear the cache and turn off the caching plugin completely. And go to the filter set to update it, alongside checking its workability.

Perfect, now I see the filter on the Shop. Now the problem is that, when I filter products it opens a 404 page. I tried some URLs prefix, but I still have the problem.
Could you provide credentials following this document so we can check it?

Hi michaelcodogno,
Thank you for the credentials, but this is all that we have in the admin dashboard – https://prnt.sc/MBs4mw6fzY7O we cannot even check the filter set settings. We need full admin user permission in order to check the issue.

Hi, now you’re can see ! Please, be careful because the site is live. Let me know if you need something else
We might have found an issue and it is this part in the URL – ”/index.php/shop/” there should be no /index.php/ in the URL.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Why? I put the entire website under index.php on the website, I can’t remove it because I’ll lose all the SEO. Any solution?
There are a few reasons why using “index.php” in the URL for your WordPress shop page, such as “mysite.com/index.php/shop/”, is considered a bad practice.
The /index.php/ in the URL may contribute 404-page missing errors. Also, search engines prefer clean and descriptive URLs because they provide context about the content of the page. Including “index.php” in the URL doesn’t contribute any meaningful information to search engines and could potentially impact your site’s SEO rankings.
You can find a lot of information on why you should not add /index.php/ to the URL and how you can fix it.
As long as you won’t fix it, the filtering won’t work and give just a 404 error.

- Victor
Hi, the Shop now has not index.php, but still the filters don’t work.
Any news?
Hi michaelcodogno,
After the weekend we tried to check on the issue today in the morning but the shop page is under construction? Or what is going on, because all we see is this weird thing – https://prnt.sc/MAF0YW-aoRw4
By the history, it is looking like there were some theme changes and other updates.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Yeah, Now I debugged it and it works. I tried with 3 different desktop. Let me now if you need something else
Thank you for fixing that, what we see is that you didn’t fix the /index.php/ since it is related to the .htaccess file of the site – https://prnt.sc/YTf-hAuxFvUa If you choose the “post name” it will filter normally on the shop page or category pages.
Top reasons why it isa bad to use /index.php/ in the URL
1) SEO Impact: Including ”/index.php/” in URLs can lead to duplicate content issues, harming your website’s search engine rankings.
2) Caching: Some caching mechanisms might not work well with URLs containing ”/index.php/”.
3) Compatibility: Some plugins or themes might not handle URLs with ”/index.php/” correctly.
4) Permalink Structure: ”/index.php/” clashes with the typical WordPress permalink structure.
5) Server Compatibility: Some servers might not handle ”/index.php/” correctly or require special configuration.
6) Database Queries: ”/index.php/” can influence how database queries are processed.
7) WordPress Updates: Future WordPress updates might not fully support ”/index.php/” URLs.
AMP Compatibility: AMP pages might not work well with URLs containing ”/index.php/”.

Hi, I did what you said and the filter now works! We’ll see if SEO will be hurt by my changes… Now I have 2 question: 1) My filter is an OR filter. But if I click on France (ex.) I can click also Italy and so it will create an url france-or-italy. I need to create a real OR filter. So if I change my filter, it will load another url, other products ecc. Ex. If I clicked France, if I’ll click Italy the filter must filter only Italy. So, basically, I want what do with Radio Button but with the checkbox style (now you see the radio, but it’s not what I want). 2) I put H1, Title and meta and descrption in “France” attribute and I see it’s displaying something from description, but it’s behinf the products. Can you help me via CSS to display it correctly above the products?
Hi michaelcodogno,
1) You should choose AND logic for it and it will work exactly as you need.
2) It would require editing the page template that corresponds to displaying that page, and you need to simply move that description in the code after the header or where you need it to appear.

Good afternoon, I have a problem with the filter, it filters values after 1000 incorrectly, throws them at the top of the list, please tell me how to solve this issue
https://imgur.com/dZYpDnfHi AmperBender,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
So if we understand correctly the filter is working and filtering as it should, the issue you are facing is that the filter terms are not sorted as you would like them to be sorted? You can change that in the needed filter by clicking “more options” and choosing the sorting option.

We are using the Pro plugin to display a set of three filter dropdowns, with the matching Posts listed underneath. This works correctly on the current hosting, but as soon as we move to another host (either online or in a local dev environment) then filter stops working. There is no error, and the results count shown next to the dropdown filter boxes is correct (e.g. “6 posts found”) but the list of posts continues to show everything and the filter is ignored.
Hi samiramohamed,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
Well, most likely it is the wrong query in the settings. Did you try going to the filter set settings and specifying the correct one? (“And what to filter” dropdown) Or maybe it is trouble with product importing and they need to be re-updated with the correct options. Also, check if there is nothing in the console.

did it
We have checked the site, and most likely this is some conflict with other plugins or custom code, a lot of errors, even in the WP Admin widget area, so we would suggest turning off 50% of the plugin to check the workability of the plugin with updating the filter set. I the problem will still appear turn off another 50% of the plugin and test the workability. To find the plugin that is causing issues, or remove custom code and test workability if there is a custom code.

Hi, I have a website with an education portfolio and its corresponding categories. Is it possible to create a filter for a specific page that only shows the entries of the portfolio that correspond to a specific category and also filter by other taxonomy?
For example, the idea would be to have a page called Art and only show the entries in the Art category but also be able to use a search bar and filter by “books” “music”, etc.
Thanks in advance, best regards
Hi minimacompania,
Thank you for your interest in the Filter Everything plugin.
Our plugin doesn’t show any posts it is just filtering them. If you have a page that uses WP_Query and only shows posts from a certain category it will filter those posts.
If you have a page that shows only posts from the ART category, in which way you are planning to use a search bar and filter by “books” “music”, etc if the page shows only posts from the ART category?
You can have a couple of pages or you can create a filter by categories like here – https://demo.filtereverything.pro/posts/ with all of the possible categories, and use logic “AND” to show only products from a certain category and filter it and search and etc.
Best Regards,
- Victor
I understand that your plugin does not display the posts. So, for example, if I use Wp Bakery I should use the “Post Grid” module to display the posts of a given category, in the example “Art”.
Is this correct?
Yes, or you can use simple archive pages and make the link to the certain category that you need and place a filter set on that filter category. So you will have a menu that will send you to the different category pages like art and so on with the needed filtyer set on it.

Hello,
I’m trying to show the filter, but on the home page, but I’m seeing: “No one Filter Set is related to this page. You can configure it in the Filter Set -> “Where to filter?” field.”
I’m enable the filter by widget I also tried with shortcode, but I’m always seeing this and filters are not shown.
I’ve selected where to filter to pages -> all pages, I’ve tried on different pages, but without success. I’m using Wordpress 6.3 and Plugin versionVersion 1.7.15.
Thank you
Hi genov1824,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
In the “Where to filter” choose “common WordPress pages” + “Homepage”

Pre-Sale Question: I am currently using the Free version of the plugin and I am not sure if the pro version is needed to achieve what I want.
Use Case: Filter workouts by the equipment that the user has available.
ACF fields are selected to establish what equipment is needed for each workout. A workout being a WP post. So we have a radio field section setup to tick the correct equipment which is list filtered down.
Currently the ‘AND’ or ‘OR’ filter logic doesn’t seem to be doing what I need.
‘AND’ is closest to what I need, but I need it to strictly only show workouts that have the exact equipment ticked, not just the workouts that have the equipment ticked as well as other equipment.
Hope this makes sense.
Hi callumedwards,
Thank you for your interest in the Filter Everything plugin.
Honestly saying we got a bit confused on this part – “show workouts that have the exact equipment ticked, not just the workouts that have the equipment ticked”
You can make a step-by-step filter like this – https://demo.filtereverything.pro/step-by-step-filtering/ with “AND” logic to show only posts that have checked filter terms only.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Thanks for that.
Is it possible to send you a screen recording of the issue I having? It is hard to explain but I’m sure there must be an easy solution..
Hi callumedwards,
Yeah sure you can send us the link to the screenshots or to the page.

I have sent a private message via your profile – thanks.
Hello, did you get my message? Thanks.
Hi callumedwards,
Apologies for the late response, we get the credentials, but we didn’t get any instructions yet what exactly is the issue. Could you please try to send the explanations or any screens on the issue one more time?
Best Regards,

There was another message before that containing a Loom. Apologies I sent it in two messages as I forgot to include the credentials initially.
Hi Callum,
Indeed, we were able to locate the initial email. It seems to have been mixed up with a group of other emails. Apologies for any inconvenience with delays. Your explanation was very clear, and we appreciate your excellent communication. We will be conducting a series of tests today, and we are optimistic that we can find a solution that will meet your specific requirements. We will provide you with an update in the next 24 hours.
Best Regards,
- Victor
That’s great, thanks guys!
Hi Callum,
We did multiple tests with different approaches and unfortunately, we couldn’t make the needed functionality out of the box.
It can be done only with custom code using a hook wpc_filtered_query_end or maybe even better use wpc_do_filter_request which, when a certain filter is selected, will turn on its logic or leave the one that is by default.
You can also use native WP hooks that define different parts of the SQL query. Such as ‘posts_where’, ‘posts_join’, etc.
Or you can create a custom field where instead of one option you write already a full set of equipment as one option, but it would look a bit messy in the filter widget.
But we will take it into consideration and perhaps with future updates we will implement logic like that.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Thanks for looking into this.
Is it possible for me to pay you to provide this code? Or is it something I can get access to by purchasing the premium plugin? This functionality is the make or break of being able to use it for my client so I would be happy to pay for the custom work?
Hi Callum,
We would gladly help, but unfortunately, we do not have spare time to write custom functionality.
But you can hire a developer from a platform like Upwork to write this functionality for you, implementing the “set/group” logic. To show certain items only when all of the terms are chosen.
Honestly, we are not even sure if there is any plugin that would have such functionality out of the box.

- Victor
We have the filters showing for one of our pages which is derived from product attributes, but it won’t actually filter any products. It shows what attributes are available (those that aren’t are grayed out), but when selected the products aren’t being filtered. Link to page:
https://knittingboard.com/product-category/premium-patterns/Hi knittingboard,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
Go to the filter set setting and in the “And what to filter” choose another query hit update and test if it is working.

We tried all 3 options listed, unfortunately none of those fixed the problem.

Hi knittingboard,
The issue was hidden in the slug names, never use the same repeating slugs and the start of them for example, premium-patter in Woo cat and premium-pattern in URL prefix in filter, it will cause only errors and issues.
We have changed the premium pattern cat name to this – https://prnt.sc/LVhTWoSQatNU basically we add the number 8 at the beginning and the end of those two words. And we have placed the filter set “Premium Pattern” exactly on that product category to test it, and everything is working well. How you set it up and with what name is up to you, but please do not use the same slug/URL names.

I want the filter selection to be already “unfolded” as default view. Unfortunately I have not found a possibility in the settings. How can I implement this?
Current view when opening the page: https://share-your-photo.com/b5d7bb3ddb
Desired view: https://share-your-photo.com/58d5d6597f
Hi markusbln,
We can provide you with code that makes foldable filters open by default.
add_filter( 'wpc_folding_opened', 'my_folding_filters_opened_by_default' );
function my_folding_filters_opened_by_default( $filters_opened_by_default ) {
$new_opened_by_default = [
1041, // Filter ID
300, // Filter ID
];
return array_merge( $filters_opened_by_default, $new_opened_by_default );
}
But this code example changes the default filter status (when you open a page with them for the first time). If you open some or close the system will “remember” their status, and next time you will see the filter in the same status you saw it last time.
To make them always closed and require them to open whenever you open the page with filters needs some amount of code changes and unfortunately, we do not provide or debug custom codes under the CodeCanyon item support policy. You have to ask somebody experienced with PHP to help you with this.
We can only say that foldable filters use a cookie with the name ‘wpcContainersStatus’ to remember a filter status.

Which browser do you use?!! Try in chrome. I don’t understand, because the access is direct. clear cookies
Or indicate an email address for me to send a link for temporary access as admin Plugin: Temporary Login Without Password
We have tried it on all available browsers including incognito mode. Maybe you have any restrictions by IP or Country or any other ones by who can enter on the login page? This is not the problem on our end.
https://prnt.sc/p16vClHz8wmp This is what the console shows a 403 error. 403 status code means that access to the requested resource is forbidden. The server understood the request, but will not fulfill it.Best Regards,

Security has been temporarily disabled to enter and verify. Wait for the solution.
Hi turisbike,
We have checked the site and here is the issue, since you are using “include” in one of the filters it will be saved to the language you are editing it in. Basically, if you edit in English it will save it for the English language and display it only for the English version.
The best way to fix the issues would be to create translations of filter sets by turning on this option in WPML settings – https://prnt.sc/TM5A7-seR_k4 to have the ability to do it. So basically you would need to create a filter set for each language and do the needed includes in each of them.

I’m trying to use Filter Everything to display a range of our ACF Number field, however the “Range” option is greyed out preventing me from selecting it.
I can select checkboxes, radio or select – but ideally need Range to be displayed.
Any tips?
Hi scott569,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
Please make sure that your ACF field is strictly numeric and does not contain any other data. You can check it in the database. Or for testing purposes create a new numeric custom field and apply it to any products/posts and test if it will work correctly, creating a new range slider by numeric custom field in the filter set.

Hello I have a filter by the square attribute, which can take values: 10-20, 21-27, 28-35, 106-130, etc. How can I sort them that way? Currently, with any sorting method, I get the following order: 10-20, 106-130, 21-27, 28-35.
Hi Igor_Shyshka,
There is the possibility to use the ‘wpc_terms_before_display’ hook to sort terms to your needs via code modifications. More information you can find here – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/hooks/#terms-before-display-hook
Best Regards,
- Victor
If I understood your example correctly, this code allows me to sort the attributes according to the value of the “order” field. Sorry, but I don’t understand, how i can set the “order” for each of the attributes?
Is it correct to set the order directly in the code? Like this: update_term_meta(302, ‘order’, 1);
add_filter(‘wpc_terms_before_display’, ‘wpc_sort_terms_as_needed’, 10, 2); function wpc_sort_terms_as_needed($terms, $filter){ // pa_square – is desired taxonomy update_term_meta(302, ‘order’, 1); update_term_meta(307, ‘order’, 2); update_term_meta(308, ‘order’, 3); update_term_meta(309, ‘order’, 4); update_term_meta(310, ‘order’, 5); if ($filter[‘e_name’] === ‘pa_square’) { $newTerms = []; foreach ($terms as $k => $term) { $termOrder = get_term_meta($term->term_id, ‘order’, true); $term->menu_order = ($termOrder !== false) ? $termOrder : 0; $newTerms[$k] = $term; } }
// To sort in descending order
// usort( $newTerms, \FilterEverything\Filter\EntityManager::compareDesc('menu_order') );
// To sort in ascending order
usort($newTerms, \FilterEverything\Filter\EntityManager::compareAsc('menu_order'));
}
return $newTerms;
return $terms;
Hi Igor_Shyshka,
Here is an example of the code:
add_filter('wpc_terms_before_display', 'wpc_sort_terms_as_needed', 10, 2);
function wpc_sort_terms_as_needed($terms, $filter){
// pa_color - is desired taxonomy
if ($filter['e_name'] === 'pa_color') {
// Define the custom sorting order
$customOrder = array(
'red',
'blue',
'green',
'purple'
);
// Create an associative array to store term objects
$termMap = array();
// Populate the term map
foreach ($terms as $term) {
$termMap[$term->slug] = $term;
}
// Sort the terms based on the custom order
$sortedTerms = array();
foreach ($customOrder as $slug) {
if (isset($termMap[$slug])) {
$sortedTerms[] = $termMap[$slug];
unset($termMap[$slug]);
}
}
// Add any remaining terms to the sorted array
foreach ($termMap as $term) {
$sortedTerms[] = $term;
}
return $sortedTerms;
}
return $terms;
}
and this is the results – https://prnt.sc/pYxJUGe6tXVM

Thank you very much for the answer. Your support is excellent as always.
Hi Stepasyuk, We are almost done setting up the filters. We are stuck with an issue :- Two of our filters have NA as values in them and they are selected by default. In chips, it shows as only NA which is confusing for the user. Can you help us add the filtername to it such as “Habitat: NA” or “Category: NA”?
I tried to find the answer for this in the comments and came across this function. I noticed that many users have requested for this. Can you kindly help?
function modify_chips_term_name($term_name, $term, $filter) { $modified_term_name = ‘Modified ’ . $term_name; return $modified_term_name; } add_filter(‘wpc_chips_term_name’, ‘modify_chips_term_name’, 10, 3);
Hi amith458,
You need to look for the term ID with dev tools inspect https://prnt.sc/Fy8bjn5UhBYV and place it in this example of the code (of course you can rewrite it to make it better):
function custom_chips_term_name($term_name, $term, $filter) {
if ($term->term_id === 30) { // Replace with your term ID
$modified_term_name = '30 ID: ' . $term_name;
return $modified_term_name;
}
if ($term->term_id === 20) { // Replace with your term ID
$modified_term_name = '20 ID: ' . $term_name;
return $modified_term_name;
}
return $term_name;
}
add_filter('wpc_chips_term_name', 'custom_chips_term_name', 10, 3);
Best Regards,
- Victor
Thanks so much Victor. It gave me a great start into hooks. I have modified the above code achieve the output I require.
function custom_chips_term_name($term_name, $term, $filter) { } add_filter(‘wpc_chips_term_name’, ‘custom_chips_term_name’, 10, 3);
if ($term_name === NA) { // Check the Term name
// Get the filter's slug
$filter_slug = $filter[label];
}
else{
return $term_name;
}
// Concatenate the filter's slug with the term name
$modified_term_name = $filter_slug . '-' . $term_name;
return $modified_term_name;
Sorry, I’m not sure why the above function is not formatted properly.
Hi amith458,
Glad to hear that you have managed to modify it to your requirements.

Is it possible to have the filter widget on a different page than the results page?
For example: A dropdown vacancy widget on the homepage (with dynamic dropdown count) that sends the user to the /vacancies/ page, where the loop and posts are located?
I couldn’t find a way yet to do this within the current plugin features/options, since it requires the post loop to be within the same page as where the filter is displayed.
Hi info_cloudselling,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
You can do it easily with the redirection filter, follow this step-by-step guide:
1) You have the “Home” page and the “Vacancies” page.
2) Create a Filter Set for the “Home” page with the needed filters, in the “Where to filter” choose the “Vacancies” page, and in “And what to filter” choose the correct WP_Query.
3) Scroll down to the “Apply Button” mode and turn it on, if you choose the page to be a homepage from the WP admin dashboard settings, then in the “Alternative Location” choose “Common WordPress pages” + “Homepage”.
4) Now when you choose any filter terms and hit Apply you will be redirected to the “vacancies” page with the filters applied that you choose in the filter.
5) Create one more Filter Set with needed filters and place it on the “vacancies” page. (because there won’t be any filters)
6) Basically that’s all, you have a redirection filter that will send you to the Vacancies page with a full filter and all options will be applied.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Thanks for the quick reply! I did not see the options hidden behind the ‘Apply button’ option, it makes sense now. Thanks, the plugin is amazing!
One more question: I have it setup and it’s working exactly as intended. The dropdowns adjust with AJAX on the homepage. However, if I log out from WordPress, the AJAX seems to stop working and it’s no longer passing the values in the URL either. I have no clue what’s causing this, there’s no additional console error.
This is the URL of our development site: https://pnocareers.cloudselling-dev.nl/If you scroll down there is a widget with the fields ‘Sector’ and ‘Location’. When I’m logged in to my admin account, it’s working flawless. But logged out or incognito, it doesn’t work unfortunaly.
Hmm, we just tested it and everything is working well – https://prnt.sc/K_NXrxXL0QVX
Best Regards,
- Victor
Hello
Plugin seems nice, but the filtering on elementor pages dont seem to work. So we have archive template designed in Elementor PRO for a custom post type that we have, and we have set up filters for Languages, and States (both are ACF filters basically).
When we try to filter content on archive page, if ajax is enabled – it gives popup that system couldnt find the specified ID or CSS class for post container – even though we have provided that Post ID in both places – the plugin main settings and the filter settings. We tried both with ID and CSS class but same result, when ajax is enabled it gives that popup message, that it couldnt find the ID or CSS Class.
When Ajax is disabled, there is no popup, plugin tries to reload the posts based on filter, but nothing changes, no actual filtering is happening, it just displays the same posts.
Please advice. P.S. We have most recent versions of Elementor, Elementor PRO and Filter Everything plugin installed.
Hi Zrabo,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
You need to specify the correct query in the “And what to filter” in the filter set settings. About class or id, you need to open the needed page and check the container of your products/posts with dev tools inspect to understand what calss or id it is have.
In general, there is no support for accounts whose support period has expired following the support policy

Hi Victor
Thank you for the response, appreciate it. I do know my period for support is expired. However, even though I purchased plugin like 9 months ago, this is the first time I install and used it.
I do have the correct query in settings, and both ID and Class was on the page when I checked it (several times).
So, It doesnt look like anything is wrong with my settings per se, but some kind of issue with the plugin.
Please advice. Thank you
Hi Zrabo,
Please send the link to the page with the issue so we can check it.

When selecting the popup version for the filter on mobile, it only shows the filter on the main shop of the page, not any other subcategory shops (woocommerce); When I disable the popup setting, it shows correctly on mobile as well; On desktop it shows at any time;
I have tried the compatibility mode, and any/all combination of relevant settings in the plugin; Nothing else works; I have also tried any/all possible paths for the filter… (The “where to filter” option)
Of course my goal is to have a working filter… Kind of amusing (in a very frustrating way) that the moment I purchase the “pro” version I start having problems with the functionality… As a note, right after updating the plugin with the pro version, it stops displaying anywhere, since the “where to filter” settings get bonked? Or I really don’t know
Hi amdxdbby,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
By subcategory shops you mean product categories? If yes you need to create a filter set and in the “Where to filter” choose “Product Categories” + “Any Category”. And the filter set will be displayed in every category. Choosing “common WordPress pages” + “shop” would display a filter set only on the shop page, you can create two filter sets or any number that you need, and you can even create a unique filter set for each category.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Dear Victor, thank you for your prompt reply;
Yes, I meant product category pages; However, I had already tried what you mentioned as I said in my first message as well; I had a specific filter set for each product category page, correctly set up with specific categories; As I said, they only showed up on mobile if I disabled the pop-up version;
Moreover, I have done a backup restore to a previous image of the store, Which only included the main filter for the store page (Common wordpress pages + shop) and the issue still presists; If I disable the popup version, even that singular filter set displays correctly for all product category shops;
The strangest thing is, I have done another restore from backup in efforts to isolate the issue even more, and now, the main filter displays correctly in popup mode on mobile; The only difference is I’ve tried to wrap the filter block into a re-usable block before adding it to the sidebar.
I would still really appreciate some clarity as to not repeat this incident; Any advice?
Usually, it can happen when this option is turned on – https://prnt.sc/DunBx2k_xqxs and you have a shortcode for the mobile button. But was it completely removed from HTML or just hidden? Or maybe some widgets area was hidden on mobile. This is a very weird behavior that never encountered before. We just tested it on our site and everything is working as well. Perhaps the reusable block was causing such behavior. Hard to give any advice, need to simulate the same situation in order to check it and find the root of the problem.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Dear Victor,
That option was never turned on in my case, so I do not think it has to do with it; I would have to recreate the bug in order to see if it was removed or just hidden from HTML.. I only added the reusable block AFTER it stopped displaying, in an attempt to fix it. Normally the filter block is inside the sidebar template part which I would add to the pages.
I am using the Spectra theme, and I have noticed some issues regarding the widgets area in the “customize” option for wp dashboard (in appearance) – (Your theme has X other widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display). I have to manually copy the code from the widgets (in appearance) to the sidebar in template parts (in appearance -> editor) in order to get it to work.
However, that would mean that the widget area on mobile has a problem with product category pages of the shop but not with the main shop page itself, since I could always see the popup filter there.
Just a hunch, are there any settings that internally change when upgrading the plugin to PRO? (besides the options/settings that show up in the plugin settings) Since also, right after updating the plugin, the filter stopped showing anywhere, and I had to change the “where to filter” option to something else, save, and then change it back to the correct path as it normally was, in order to get the filter to display.
This is all that I can think of, I hope it can help you make a more conclusive decision; For now, it is working, and I don’t want to be stuck with it not showing up again; I will try to pay extra close attention and if it ever happens again I hope to have additional useful information for you
Hi amdxdbby,
The free version displays the filter set on archive pages, such as the shop archive page, categories archive page and etc. When you install the PRO version you can choose common WordPress pages + all Archive pages.
If you could provide credentials following this document it would be easier to check it and understand in which way you set up filter sets and where they should be shown and so on to provide more information.

PRESALES QUESTION – My client has a very complex e-commerce store. We are going to be building multiple taxonomies and custom attributes for the over 2.5K products.
The site is built with Beaver Builder
What is the strategy for implementing the “only show relevant filters” feature mentioned in your product description?
Can I dynamically add the relevant filter set to a single product archive page so that the store can be navigated through and the filters in the sidebar automatically change to reflect e.g. the category/product type?
Or do I have to either have multiple hard coded shortcodes (and rely on your plugin to only display the relevant one)?
Or is there some other approach which your documentation hasn’t covered.
The way this is implemented will be a key factor in deciding whether your plugin is the right tool for the job.
Many thanks
Hi michellemcdines1,
Thank you for your interest in the Filter Everything plugin.
“What is the strategy for implementing the “only show relevant filters” feature mentioned in your product description?”
It means that you can create unique filter sets and place them in the needed category. Basically can create one filter set for the electronics category second one for the furniture category and etc. So when you’ll scroll through different categories you’ll see different filter sets.
The shortcode only displays the filter widget, there is no possibility to create a filter set with a shortcode. In the filter set setting “Where to filter” dropdowns you can specify where the filter will be displayed.
Best Regards,
- Victor
So does that mean I have to create different archives or pages for each product category? What I am trying to achieve is a seamless transition so that as visitors navigate through the shop, the sidebar filters change automatically to the relevant filters for that product type/category.
Hi michellemcdines1,
No, you just need to create a Filter Set and place it in the needed category – https://prnt.sc/ihRtcIq7X3es then create another filter set and place it in another category.

Hi there, I have been using filter everything for a while and just purchased the Pro so that I can use the pop up widget on mobile, however the toggled filter container gets misplaced (Just above the products) compared to where the filter is when I deselect the pop up widget (aligned within the container). When on a category or tag page, this also means the heading of the tag appears above the filter. Please could you assist? winedrop.co.za/shop (as mentioned I have deactivated the pop up so will only see where the filter toggle is meant to be)
Another query is when opening the filter the odd dropdown is already expanded instead of toggled from time to time after clearing the cache – is there a recommended setting to prevent this with WP rocket? Thank you
Sorry, to add, while selecting options in the pop up filter, the preload icon pops up for a while, but once submitted, the products still take a while to update on the PLP so not sure why it preloads in the filter, then loads again in the PLP. I have tried numerous class or ID options for the container to enable AJAX but it isn’t working, which may improve this situation? If you can inspect the mobile version and let me know which to use that would be great thanks.
wow sorry another message was too late to edit initial. I fixed alignment with CSS on the shop page, but all that happens on the category and tag pages is that it shifts the product tag header even higher up, and the widget remains below the heading.
Hi geoffreyb13,
Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.
You can use a shortcode to place the filter widget wherever you want. Also, we would recommend adding CSS styles for a current page using its unique class name or id, so it won’t change CSS only on certain pages and not globally. The pop-up filter and how it is working need to be checked and AJAX as well. Also, could you please write something like a list, of what you want to achieve and what are the issues, because it is all connected and very confusing to understand. So we can provide the needed answers with help.
And please provide the credentials to the wp-admin dashboard following this document so we can check all of those issues in the list one by one and test it and fix it.

Hi Victor, thanks for the response, here is a summary: For now I am only using the filter for mobile. 1. The filter has always been in the correct place but when I bought Pro and enabled the pop up widget, the filter then shifts out of place. I added the shortcode but it then duplicates the filter widget on the page and is still below the container instead of inside. 2. I can use CSS on the shop page but on an archive (category and tag) pages the styling for the widget is the same as on the shop page therefore complicated to try and move, the other issue is that it effects the positioning of the woocommerce product title for the page (the filter widget it appears below the title and the title has shifted too high up), so that also needs to be moved. Ideally there is a way of keeping the filter widget in the current place but enabling the pop up option? 3. Even if I manage to position the filter box in the right place, the filter is still really slow (until they are individually cached) and when using the pop up widget it takes time to filter within the widget, then after applying the selection it takes more time to actually update the products – why don’t the products update in the background of the pop up widget while selecting? How can I speed the filter up? Can it possible filter by category archive and tag archive pages rather than product with those tags? 4. I need the class or ID to enable AJAX as everything I tried from inspecting the page, hasn’t worked. Please assist. I am hoping this will speed up the filter. 5. The filters are often untoggled when I open the widget, and sometimes the actual filter widget is already untoggled when I open a page even after clearing the cache (when using without the pop up). How do I fix this?
Thanks Victor, hoping you can assist.
Hi markusbln,
1) You either add the filter widget with a shortcode or with the widget area. Also, you can add the mobile filter button with the widget and turn on this option to not show buttons in mobile at all only where you place the shortcode of the button – https://prnt.sc/FVIdaxm9LPRe about shortcodes you can read here – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/shortcodes/
2) You can use some of the unique styles for the body shop page – https://prnt.sc/UIrCMRAtJUo8 in order to apply CSS to the shop page only.
3) The pop-up filter widget is working like an apply button mode, when you choose any term it is updating the filter terms that are available with the already selected term, and when you hit apply it is showing already the filtered results.
4) We cannot assist here because you didn’t provide the credentials as we asked for in previous message in order to check everything.
5. Again this can be only checked on the site with wp-admin credentials to check how everything is working and why and then try to fix it.
Some things cannot be fixed without testing them at the place.

Hi Victor,
Thank you for feedback. Please send me the details that I can use to create a user profile (name and email address), as well as a secure link where I can share the log in details rather than on the public forum as I didn’t initially add them when creating the ticket as you mentioned. Otherwise I can give my admin login but prefer to create a user – either way will need a secure link.
Thanks
You can provide credentials following this document and sent it all via PM here.

Hi Victor, I have sent the login details through thanks. I added the shortcode first without the pop up view to the shop category layout (Themify ultra > layout part > Shop Category > clicked on the mobile icon in the theme builder to ensure styling is only for mobile). You will notice at the bottom that I duplicated my original widget and hid it, then recreated it with the shortcode, it works except for the chips. However when I enabled the pop up widget option the filter box disappeared and the page heading shifted up over the container, I tried the selection you suggested with placing the shortcode but it still didn’t appear, only the filter box below the heading again despite the selection not to show it. I have set up a filter set for archive pages and so it should pull through with the chips as I added the chips shortcode but chips aren’t pulling through – even with pop up off.
The shop page works with the pop up and the chips using the widget without shortcode, however the pop up filter is incredibly slow – it took 20 seconds to load a category of 60 products, then once I clicked apply it takes another 10+ seconds to display on the shop page. The open pop up also doesn’t use a cache system so it means it cannot remember the selection for the next user making the same selection quicker. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Here again maybe ajax will help? When I tested the demo sites of the pro plugin the filters were much faster.
Thank you
Hi geoffreyb13,
This is normally how it should be – https://prnt.sc/ur4dc4V7HLa_ console is nice and clean, and this is what you have – https://prnt.sc/ua4ZFyhGE1Yy The most important that jQuery is not defined. First of all, you need to fix all of those errors. And then test the workability, because right now even the Woo filter that you have on your desktop is working extremely slowly, and we deactivated our plugin for testing, the errors are there in the console with it or without so it is not connected to the plugin, rather to the theme or custom code.
After all the errors will be fixed, you can test the workability of the plugin.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Hi Victor,
Thanks for the feedback, please can you check again as I fixed 5 errors but it is still running slowly. Yes I noticed that desktop also started running slowly. I have also asked wp rocket to see if it is anything on their end slowing it down. Let me know if you found the ID or class in order to test ajax filtering.
Thank you
Hi geoffreyb13,
About the speed, you have an issue with server response time, that’s why it is so slow. Sometimes it was taking up to 4-15s, and sometimes it is getting better. It doesn’t matter if you are on a shop page or admin dashboard.
About the AJAX we turned it on and set the id of the products container, but you need to trigger your pagination in order to update it, or make a wrapper for products and pagination and set the id for it and use that id in “HTML id or class of the Posts Container”.
About the placing of a “mobile button” on archive pages like category you can update the template and use the “echo do_shortcode( ‘[fe_open_button]’ );” and place it somewhere here – https://prnt.sc/DcSsW_0Im9QG
Best Regards,
- Victor
Hi Victor,
Thank you for the feedback. Can you also update as to why some of the filter categories keep opening in the untoggled view even after clearing or removing the cache?
I am sorry but I dont understand what you mean by make a wrapper for products pagination and set the ID for it and use that id in HTML id class of the posts or container. I read this article but it doesnt really help. https://filtereverything.pro/resources/plugin-settings/#ajax My current ID is #loops-wrapper currently so I will need to change it but it works for the shop page, so will need to find a way of getting pagination to work for archive without affecting the shop page: 1. how do you make a wrapper for products 2. how and where do you set the id for it and input it 3. how do I “use that is in the “html id…? ” Where do I add it? builder, CSS or settings?
In the pro version they could have mentioned that it isnt a plug and play it requires multiple work arounds as there is only one global setting for all filter sets.
Placing the button. 1. What template are you referring to? I am then needing to work on the CSS again to try and make the archive pages presentable? I dont understand how adding the shortcode to the CSS will make it appear in the right place if it keeps dropping below the woocommerce heading as you saw when you activated ajax?
I appreciate the support, hoping we can resolve this. Thank you.
Hi geoffreyb13,
Well, they use cookies to save the state, so it is appearing absolutely the same as it was left.
You have a main container/wrapper with filter/products/pagination elements in it. You need to create a wrapper like div id=”wrap-pag-prod” and place it inside product/pagination elements and specify the id of that wrapper here – https://prnt.sc/iBSO0f-Y2tBj to make it globally or here to make it only for a current filter set – https://prnt.sc/qIQ8-pkOWzHA
Doesn’t matter how PRO the plugin is you still need to specify which part of the page should be updated with AJAX, as the plugin would never guess it.
The mobile filter button appears where the widget section is displayed on the page in mobile mode or where you put your shortcode. The fact is that on the shop page, it is appearing normally but on the categories page it is appearing below the title because that’s where your widget area is displayed on the categories page. You can edit that template and place it where you need it to appear, it doesn’t have a relation to the plugin itself. It is how the theme or site was created.
This is not a CSS – https://prnt.sc/DcSsW_0Im9QG this is the page template code that displays your products on the categories.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Hi Victor, apologies for the delay I thought I had replied but it hadn’t sent. Cookies – even if I turn cache off and clear all cache and leave in toggled state they can still sometimes appear open when next on the page. Does it cache the results or just the toggled view? I am reaching out to the theme dev team to assist with the pagination and the placement as I don’t want to interfere with the theme template. I am currently not using any of the pro features so if I cannot get the filter box to work and the ajax filter to speed up it may be worth considering a refund and just using the standard filter? Thank you
Hi geoffreyb13,
Can you please show any cases with this toggle situation so we can understand it better with the link to the page with that issue and instructions on how to simulate it?
You can fix the pagination issue with this as well – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/ajax-related-problems/
Best Regards,
- Victor
Hi Victor, thank you for the response. It will require screenshots, clearing all the cache, switching it off then screenshots again. In the end, the filters are occasionally toggled after clearing the cache and occasionally they arent, I am not sure how else to explain. It may be that another device is viewing the filters when I clear the cache, but I dont know why it then makes the default view for everyone untoggled. Right now I am trying to sort out bigger issues as the plugin causes loads of PHP errors when I enable certain cache optimisations which are vital for site performance. Since all the errors I have now had my site hacked. If I deactivate the filter everything plugin all the errors go away. When I run a PHP compatibility check on my site, the filter everything pro plugin responds with an error, do you know why that is? is it compatible with PHP 7 & 8? Thank you
Hi Victor, unfortunately I received warnings from my server host as well as from wordpress directly stating that filter everything pro is causing fatal errors on my site. I have had to delete it and for now using the free version. Please can you tell me the process for requesting a refund, or is this done through wordpress? Thank you
Hi geoffreyb13,
Yes, the plugin is compatible with 7-8.1 PHP versions 100%. If you used the object cache some errors might appear and the plugin might work incorrectly (you can exclude our plugin from being cached and so on as it is already using cache for itself for the best productivity). We can recommend using WAF with strong passwords and two-factor authentication for your WordPress admin and hosting accounts. This extra layer of security can prevent unauthorized access to your site even theoretically someone would find any vulnerability in the plugin.
Can you provide the screenshots of those errors and from hosting fatal errors as well via PM? So we can examine it and understand what’s going on. And fix it all.
In general, you can create a refund request from your account with an appropriate form, and wait for the response.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Hi Victor, I am trying to get it to work instead of the refund for now, could I ask you where I can find my license key as the one from the PDF purchase ID isn’t working and it is saying this now: To allow the plugin to update automatically and avoid blocking some of its features, please enter your license key on the License page.
Thank you
Hi geoffreyb13,
It is important to keep in mind that the License key and CodeCanyon purchase code are two different things.
If you need to set the License key for the Filter Everything PRO plugin, simply head to Filters -> Settings -> License and click the “Get your License Key” button.
It will take you to a new page where you can log in with your Envato credentials (with an account where you have purchased the plugin) and obtain your License key.
It is a simple process but if are having any issues (automatically logging in with another account) simply use incognito mode in your browser.
Best Regards,
- Victor
Thanks Victor, I have done it. Can you tell me when we have the filter everything Pro plugin active, can we safely delete the original “Filter Everything — WooCoomerce Product & WordPress Filter” plugin?
Hi geoffreyb13,
Yes, when you install the PRO version active you can delete the free version of the plugin.
