Yes, this is possible, please go to the importing rule settings of the plugin, for the RSS feed for which you want to remove images and check the ‘Strip Images From Post Content’ checkbox -> save settings -> import new posts.

In Newsomatic it is easier to select sources, you will be able to select them from a dropdown, you don’t need to know or have the RSS feed URL of each site. I think I will go with the Echo RSS version as I want specific ones and I don’t want to be limited to the API selection (which is kind of interesting and cool tho the sources you have there).
I will do the purchase once I get home tonight, and just an idea, have you thought of combining the both nice plugins into one which will be able to run both features and it would be a full complete solution? You still can keep the individual ones available to be purchased separately tho. The new combined one can be priced differently of course. I will be one of the first to buy it btw. “just an idea”

As this page is not an RSS feed, you will need to scrape the results which appear on it. For this, I recommend you also check the Crawlomatic plugin, which can import articles by direct web scraping (and not from RSS feeds, like Echo RSS). When using the Default Featured Image List to replace missing featured images, whether I provide a URL or a media ID, the asset is duplicated with each new post. So a source importing 10 new articles would create 10 copies of that image. That seems unnecessary – am I missing something?
