Hello,
This issue appears usually when a server settings prevents the rules from being saved correctly.
Please contact your server’s hosting provider’s support and ask them to disable the mod_security module they have active on your server.
This should solve this issue.

Just sent email to you !
Hi, in the next update soon can you please promise to finally add a name are in the rss to post list so its easy to identify the feeds? This is very bad when you have 20+ feeds and you cannot tell them apart. SEE https://imgur.com/a/KnDSngF You can make the ID column width thinner and add a feed name field column after it. Thanks!
Hello,
The latest version of the Echo RSS plugin has the ID field transformed into an editable field, which can be used for rule naming. Please check screenshot: https://ibb.co/Mnx6nNW
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
Ok great! Thanks Szabi
is it possible to schedule every 15 minutes or 30 minutes? I see it only has a minimum interval of 1 hour. Thank you
Hello,
Thank you for getting back to me.
Currently, the plugin is limited to a minimum of 1 hour rule running period. This limitation is to not allow users to overuse their server’s resources and contact me afterwards complaining that the plugin is not working.
If you wish to get this feature, for details, please contact me at my email kisded@yahoo.com
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
thanks for the quick reply. I will write to you for this feature. Thanks
Hi,
The permalinks are not coming as same as from source article, could you please do help me out to replicate the exact permalinks from source article.
Thanks
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your purchase.
If you want to link the post titles and featured images directly to the source article, you have to go to the plugin’s ‘Main Settings’ menu -> check the “Enable the ‘Link Generated Post Titles To Source Articles’ Feature” checkbox -> save settings. Afterwards, go to importing rule settings -> check the ‘Link Generated Post Titles To Source Articles’ checkbox for all rules you created -> save settings -> import new posts.
If you wish to add a ‘read more’ button to the end of the article that the plugin generates, please check this tutorial video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWqz6a8yuHY

Is there the possibility to assign categories based on keywords in the title? I saw some questions about it answered a few years ago … just wondering if you’ve managed that feature now; it would be fantastic.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting me.
I just updated the plugin to v5.4.0, added the ‘Categories Based On Keywords From Post Title’ feature to the plugin.
You will find this feature in plugin settings: ‘Categories Based On Keywords From Post Title’ – you can assign a comma separated list of categories which will be assigned to posts if the keywords are found in post titles.
I hope this helps.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
Love it! I just purchased it now.
Thank you for your purchase!
Regards.
Is 5.4 out yet? I just downloaded the file now and I got 5.3.9.2
You can always get the latest version of the plugin by registering your purchase code in the plugin’s ‘Main Settings’ menu and going to WordPress’ ‘Plugins’ menu -> clicking ‘Check for updates’ -> ‘Update now’ for the plugin.
But I update the plugin right now also here on CodeCanyon, the new version should be available in 10-15 minutes for redownloading.
Regards.
Thanks for fast reply!
I tested 5.4 out and the categories option is working great. What would actually really be cool, was if we could set a specific keyword to go in to a specific category.
For example if the post title contains “cars” then I could set it to go to my category ‘Automobiles’.
I don’t it’s possible to do it like this now, is it? This really helps when you take feeds of sites that don’t use categories then we could really flesh out our categories in powerful ways.
Well, I think that for this a different feature would be needed, as the current one cannot be modified to do the above task. I noted this, for upcoming updates.
Regards.
I tested your demo, but it fails to import posts. I am trying to import this feed – https://colgateathletics.com/rss I left all settings as default except for Required Feed Item Category List: I put Men’s Ice Hockey. It does not import any posts. If I remove the category then it works…however I only want that category to be added to my site. Any ideas? I don’t want to purchase if it isn’t going to work correctly.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting me.
I checked this RSS URL on my development demo site and for me, importing worked out of the box.
Also, created a demo site, same result, importing working for this feed: http://wpinitiate.com/echo-test/demobdac33de/
Please send me the demo URL you created (where the plugin was not working as expected) and I will check on the plugin settings and help fix this issue.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
Hello, The demo site you set up is showing Field Hockey and Men’s Ice Hockey articles. That is not correct. I would like to import the Men’s Ice Hockey category, which still is not working. My demo site had expired, but I just set up a new one and it still is not working when trying to ONLY import the Men’s Ice Hockey category. http://wpinitiate.com/echo-test/demo6885c0f7
Hello,
The category in the RSS feed for the Men’s Ice Hokey is the following:
Men’s Ice Hockey, General
You also need to escape the comma from the category, as follows: \,
So, you need to add the following in the ‘Required Feed Item Categories List’ settings field:
Men's Ice Hockey\, General
Please check result: https://wpinitiate.com/echo-test/demo6885c0f7/wp-admin/post.php?post=7&action=edit
Regards.
No, isn’t that two different categories? I don’t want to pull in other ‘General’ category posts. Only Men’s Ice Hockey. I want to pull in these stories – https://colgateathletics.com/sports/mens-ice-hockey/archives?search=&sport=mhock&season=0 You will see many that only have the Men’s Ice Hockey category, but when only Men’s Ice Hockey is put into the Required Feed Items Category it does not pull the articles in.
No, the category is listed in the RSS feed as: Men’s Ice Hockey, General
Please open the RSS feed and check on it.
RSS feeds add all categories which are assigned to posts and list them is a comma separated format. Because of this, you need to enter both categories to filter the posts and import only those which match the exact query you set in plugin settings.
Let me know if you need more details on this or if you have more questions.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
Yes, but what about the posts in the link I shared that only have the Men’s Ice Hockey category selected? By the way you are explaining it If I am setting the query as Men’s Ice Hockey, General then most of the posts I want will not be imported, right? They are only categorized as Men’s Ice Hockey. Not Men’s Ice Hockey, General
I agree that the most recent post in the feed is categorized as Men’s Ice Hockey, General. There are also posts in the link above that are ONLY Men’s Ice Hockey.
Or because this specific post is categorized as Men’s Ice Hockey, General is the reason for it not importing? Do I have to create multiple feeds using the different categories?
Feed 1 – Men’s Ice Hockey Feed 2 – Men’s Ice Hockey, General
Sorry, I am just trying to understand exactly how it functions before purchasing.
Hello,
I checked the RSS feed you linked above and currently it does not contain any posts from the “Men’s Ice Hockey” category.
Can you let me know when it will contain another posts in this category only (without “General”), so I can check on this issue?
Thank you.
Regards.
Hello,
I have an example of only one category. There is a new post with the category of “Women’s Ice Hockey” but I cannot get it to import using the demo. I left all plugin settings with default settings. This is the demo link if it is helpful at all – http://wpinitiate.com/echo-test/demod7d29fe4/
EDIT: Actually I just got it to work. I had it set to ignore posts older than 3 hours ago. This was posted 2 hours ago my time. I changed that to one week ago and it imported the post. Maybe it is just a time difference on the servers?
Hello,
I am glad to hear that it worked well.
Yes, the issue is because of the server time difference, as my server is probably in a different time zone than the time which is added in the RSS feed.
Regards.
Hello, I purchased plugin, but if I write purchase code into plugin settins, so it writes:
“Failed to validate your purchase code with Envato.”
Where is the problem?

Hi sir, Best Plugin for import images from 9gag, but i got one feed i need to grab and that ist this one https://9gagrss.xyz/ its based on json and rss but it doesnt grab any images. maybe any update so it imports images and news on JSON!
Kind Regards Robin
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your purchase.
I checked the feeds you linked and it seems they have custom tags in them, where they store the image links.
To make the images appear, please use the below settings in the plugin (rule settings):
Generated Post Content: <img src="%%custom_content_url%%" alt="%%item_title%%" /> Feed Item Custom Tag Names: content_url
Tutorial video for getting content from custom RSS tags: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUb4NDb_1yE
I hope this info helps.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
Thanks it works, but it doesnt grab a Featured Image , you got a idea?
Thanks for your great support and fast!
Kind Regards
Glad to hear that it works. Regarding the featured image, I don’t think that importing is possible, as the image is not found in the RSS feed they generate: https://9gagrss.xyz/rss.php?channel=Animals
Regards.
Hi,
Thanks i am still happy with the results Thanks You!!!
Regards Robin
I am glad to help!

Hi
can I grabbing news from specific section for example, IT News only ?
Hello,
Thank you for contacting me.
Currently this is possible only if you find an RSS feed which lists only the news from the specific category you want to grab news from. You can search for alternative RSS feeds on the source sites, I suggest you add the category name to the end of the RSS feed name, you might be able to find it and afterwards, the plugin will be able to grab news from categories, using these custom RSS feeds.
If this is not possible in the case of the site you want to scrape, I can recommend also the Crawlomatic plugin, which can set a scraping start (seed URL), which can be set as the category listing page and the plugin will be able to scrape all link from that page: https://codecanyon.net/item/crawlomatic-multisite-scraper-post-generator-plugin-for-wordpress/20476010

a problem with automatic scheduled run. When action pass the scheduled run time nothing happen and after that the “next run” time showing past time.
past time means never execute auto post because past time is past
you said “To fix it, I recommend you replace wp_cron with server side cron”
What should I do if I use web hosting that is not accessible to the server side?
how can i fix it in wp site?
like this https://prnt.sc/fTH0IV1irnlD
Hello,
Yes, to fix this issue, you need to replace wp_cron with a server side cron.
If you don’t have access to server side cron creation, you can replace it with free services like: https://cron-job.org/en/ or https://www.easycron.com/
Tutorial on how to make this switch, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzhz9bnY-fE
The above video talks also about easycron website.
I hope this info helps.

Hi, I noticed that with the last update if I save the imported images, it generates the subfolder /localimages/ in the /upload folder
This in my opinion generates a conflict with the assignment of the cover image, I tried with other plugins to solve but nothing to do.
In another site with an outdated version this does not happen, it does not generate the subfolder /localimages/ and the cover images are correctly set.
How do I fix it? Thank you
Hello,
The localimages folder is created only if you have the ‘Copy Images From Content Locally’ checkbox checked in the plugin’s ‘Main Settings’ menu. It will copy all images found in the post content, locally to your server’s storage. This will not affect featured images, just images from post content.
I recommend you uncheck the ‘Copy Images From Content Locally’ checkbox to not get the localimages folder created on your hosting.

does it support custom post Category and tags ?
Hello,
Thank you for contacting me.
Yes, the Echo RSS plugin supports custom categories and tags, you can add these to created posts usin the ‘Custom Post Taxonomies’ settings field, from importing rule settings from the plugin.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
I was testing the demo and found out that this “& hellip;” always appears in post excerpts
Hello,
Please send me the URL of the demo you created and also the URL of the post where I can see this issue in the excerpt and I check on this.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
post link – http://wpinitiate.com/echo-test/demoe25a3b91/wp-admin/post.php?post=24&action=edit
Look at the excerpts in post edit
Hello,
I checked the demo site you linked, but it is empty, also the plugin is not configured: http://wpinitiate.com/echo-test/demoe25a3b91/wp-admin/edit.php
Can you reconfigure it, please, or create a new demo and send me the URL and I will check on this.
Regards.
Thank you for reporting this issue, it was fixed in the v5.3.7.1 update of the plugin.
Regards.
ok. when is the update release
It is already released, you can update to the latest version after you register your purchase code in the plugin -> go to ‘Plugins’ menu of WordPress -> ‘Check for updates’ -> ‘Update now’ for the plugin
Hi, just bought and installed your plugin. I just need to know the code to display the Source URL link on posts, so people can link to the story’s original URL. I’d like to be able to customize where this link displays
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your purchase.
Please check this tutorial video for info on how to add the source URL to created posts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWqz6a8yuHY
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
Ah yes, worked like a charm. Another question, we switched to your plugin from another, but same feed sources. The last plugin didn’t pull in featured images. Is there a way to rescan our sources and pull in images for existing posts? Not duplicate posts, but “update” them to pull missing images?
Well, sorry, but the plugin cannot update posts created by other plugins. I suggest you delete the old posts and reimport them using the Echo RSS plugin.
Ok cool thanks!
I have a few questions since I am trying to get content from other WP site I own and post in a new one, and it was working before but now it stopped updating since April 22 and when I run the rule it is not working anymore gives me the X symbol
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your purchase.
Please send me temporary admin login credentials to your site, so I can check on this issue. My email is kisded@yahoo.com
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
ok.. i see, so just use – 15,45**wget -q -O /dev/null http://wpinitiate.com/echo-test/demoe04aded9/?run_echo=echorun – as the command
Yes, but the url needs to be replaced with your own website url.
what about this option in main setting
https://ibb.co/hdZGQtxHello,
Using the settings you show in the screenshot, you can create a custom URL on your website, which can be set in the cron jobs you create on your server, to start importing only in the plugin. This is an option if you want to not fully replace wp_cron on your server with server side cron, just to create an additional cron schedule which will call only the scheduling in the plugin.
However, this feature is optional, if you replace wp_cron on your server with server side cron, this functionality is no longer needed.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.
ok. So just leave blank if you want to use on server side cron
Yes.
