Yep, I had the same concerns as jacksoncwwong. ( see his comment here: https://codecanyon.net/item/visual-composer-page-builder-for-wordpress/242431/comments?utf8=%E2%9C%93&term=jacksoncwwong&from_buyers_and_authors_only=0&order_by=oldest )
I build websites as a business, and I used Bootstrap before, yet I had to sit and think about this method of reference you made in WP Bakery.
What threw me was these type of references: ” 5 columns – 5/12 ”, when making a comparison to the other references like “4 columns – 1/3”.
I finally figured it out, at least I hope I did. It is based on a 12 grid layout, which is Bootstrap. The number of columns have to add up to 12 grids.
Then… that reference means an element that is 5 columns wide takes up 5 grids of the available 12 grids. So a 5 column wide element is done only once per row of 12 grids.
The math in this reference says “5 columns is the same as 5 grids, leaving a space of 7 grids left unused to equal the total of 12 grids”. (cannot divide 5 into 12, so space is left on either side).
So this reference “4 columns – 1/3” says means “4 columns, each one taking up 3 grids. By the math is works to “4 columns x 3 grids = 12 grids” (4 columns 3x).
For the average person, this is really confusing because the average person does not know “Bootstrap” grid design and neither will they figure it out. I think jacksoncwwong was one of the rare few, unless he has previous knowledge of Bootstrap.
In your reply to him 4yrs ago, you said you will work on improving the information about this column reference. I see that you have not, over the 4 yrs, at least I have not found any explanation at all except for here.
I suggest you do work on it now. And use image references in your documentation. to explain this column reference, which is confusing.
Suggestion
When making references like you have, the best way is to establish a base reference that works for all sceneros. So when someone looks at the reference, most can figure it out. Best to avoid any technical reference only you understand.
This means your column references have to change. Here are examples,
1 column = 12/12
2 columns = 6/12
3 columns = 4/12
4 columns = 3/12
5 columns = 5/12
6 columns = 2/12
7 columns = 7/12
8 columns = 8/12
(etc).
The fraction reference means #grids a column takes up of the 12 total grids.
Then create documentation to explain it, with images of grids, how they are covered per the references above, etc.
Hope that helps.
Hello, Thank you for sharing the feedback. We will add it onto our list to work on improving the column layout tutorial in future.

My site wants me to add my license by logging into the WPBakery site, but I purchased my license through envato market. I can’t figure out how to get this information in there.
Hello, As the license is purchased via envato, in this case, you should import the license into your WPBakery account. To do so, you can login into: support.wpbakery.com/login If you are not sure about the login details, then use the reset password option and use the email id associated with your codecanyon account. Once logged in, navigate to licenses page and click on “import it” option at the bottom of the page. It will then prompt you to login into codecanyon to complete the import. You can then activate the plugin license as per: https://wpbakery.com/video-academy/activate-wpbakery-page-builder-wordpress-license/

Hello. Wpbakery is part of a theme we purchased. We’re having an issue with grid not loading on frontend. While we perfectly see the grid functioning on the frontendeditor, on frontend itself it does not load, instead we see a JS error in console: Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: {status found”}
Can you please suggest a solution?
Hello, As you got WPBakery Page Builder within a theme, you will need to contact your theme author for support or use our support at support.wpbakery.com (You will require a direct license of the plugin for support access).

yet another shining, useless piece of bloatware perpetrated and promoted by themeforest. At an outrageously overpriced prie, don’t bother with this useless piece of garbage. It lacks stability and doesn’t function half the time. Why do you even need ‘support’ if your product is legit and works as advertised?
Hello, If you are facing any issue/problem then please open a ticket via our support portal: http://support.wpbakery.com and share the temporary login details so that it can be checked further.

I’ve purchased a WPBakery plugin license to re-activate the plugin within my WordPress website. However, when I click on ‘Activate WPBakery Page Builder’ under Product License in WordPress, it takes me to WPBakery help centre where I have no account on. I created one but it obviously wouldn’t have license because I purchased license here. What should I do?
I can’t even open ticket in support.wpbakery.com

Hello I purchased this plugin as a standalone but also it was included in the Uncode theme but the theme version of wpbakery doesn’t have frontend editing. If I activate my standalone wpbakery plugin with the theme version together, will it cause issues or is it a good workaround for frontend editing capability? Thank you.
Hello, You can confirm it with the theme developer to see if there will be any conflicts with activating the standalone version at your end. The frontend editor issue is because it is disabled by the theme developer using vc_disable_frontend. You can get in touch with him and get rid of the above code from the theme to get it back.

I tried and they said it’s not possible. “As explained Uncode uses a completely custom version and that’s not the point, sorry. As suggested if this is critical for you, you can ask a refund otherwise you need to wait until public release.” TOO BAD!
Hi, I’m getting this error when upgrading to php 7.2
Deprecated: The each() function is deprecated. This message will be suppressed on further calls in /usr/www/users/javacwvpta/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/include/classes/core/class-vc-mapper.php on line 111
I just re-downloaded the theme and that file class-vc-mapper.php has not been updated. How can I get the latest version of the plugin?
Hello, You can update the plugin at your end using any of these two methods: https://kb.wpbakery.com/docs/getting-started/update/

Hello, The only thing I miss is the creation and editing of a popup. Do you have plans to add such functionality? JJ
Hello, I am afraid, we do not have plan for pop-up editor. However, you can use any third party plugin which has such a feature and then display the pop-up by adding it’s shortcode via text block element.

Ticket now open
Hello!
Is there any addon for this plugin that does this:
A button similar to “Load More Posts” that would load the row.
I happen to have many row’s with heavy content … which would only be interesting to load if the user wanted to.
Can you understand?
A button that carries the row
Or lazyload to Row’s
Hello, We have such an option for toggle or accordion elements which displays the content when clicked upon them and hides it by default.

I have noticed errors with the recent updates. Now I have a warning message pertaining to the Ultimate modals displaying on the front end of the website: Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /home/bpsweb42/public_html/wp-content/plugins/Ultimate_VC_Addons/modules/ultimate_modals.php on line 427
Is there a solution for this?
Hello, The ultimate modal is not a standard element of the page builder. It is a custom element added by a third party add-on.

Our customer is suddenly receiving 403 errors when publicing post on his news website. I have tried multiple things to fix it, but nothing works. Every thing is up-to date, deleted htaccess file, switched back to a normal WordPress theme, deactivated plugins. Nothing help, until I turn off Visual Composer.
When publising a post without Visual Composer it work, but when it is activated I receive a 403 forbidden error.
Please help!
