Hi! I try to set your great plugin to access to public gallery of Facebook profile. Is it possible to use our developers.facebook.com account for manage customer facebook gallery or… we have to create developers.facebook.com account on customer fb account please? Many thanks.
Hi, the app you need to create can be your own, the customer can be the admin of it. So you don’t need their password, they don’t need to create a developer access. The customer will need to add themselves in the admin area of JIG, and refresh once every 2 months. They will be able to load their own personal Facebook galleries or of any Page they are an admin of.
The flickr collections feature is broken (even on your own website). It doesn’t show thumbnails for collections anymore.

This might be a problem with flickr itself, possible solution would be to show a (random?) picture from the collection instead of the grid.

Hi, Is there a way to display custom fields, such as Advanced custom fields to override the default featured image on WP recent post query? I would want to place a video as a featured image and since it’s not possible with WP by default, do you have on option for this? Thanks.
To be more specific, it would only work as preview of a full length video and clicking it would take you to a post for a full version of the video. Would be a nice feature to have a post query where some images are stills and some mp4:s autoplayed. I was able to have a video opening on a lightbox from a thumbnail but that’s not what i’m looking for.
JIG only uses images for thumbnails, videos can’t be present in the grid itself, only in the lightbox.
I originally had my site on a temporary URL and then switched to my permanent domain. I forgot to switch over my license. I contacted support and they said they disconnected it from the first URL. At the top of my screen it still says to input my license for automatic updates and I don’t remember that from before (maybe it was there and I just don’t recall it).
Also, I no longer see the options to look at and edit/copy the generated shortcodes. Not sure why things seem different.

Please refund me. your product is far too complicated for the average user. NOT what I’m looking for, Not I know why there was never any images of the backend setting, only of the front end galleries.
Just enable automatic take over on the general tab and conitnue creating galleries the normal WordPress way with Gutenberg or Add Media button. Barely need to touch any settings.

It has something to do with Flickr communcation. In JIG settings Flickr tab, check your profile and add it again, just in case. That has to look all right before the frontend can show Flickr content.
Hi, im interested in Justified Image Grid, but i have few questions about it. First of all im web designer and im looking for a gallery that could be really easy to use for a client. So he could upload images easily, add filter and so on. Is this possible with your gallery?
If you set it up for the client, it can be easy. It can repalce regular WP galleries so if you client is able to use those, then nothing becomes more difficult with JIG.
Filtering is based on tags and categories on images. If you have a plugin that makes adding those to images beautiful, then it’s easier (such as media library assistant).
Hi, I’d love to be able to click a link or button, basically be able to launch a JIG gallery lightbox without any thumbnail, it’s not possible.. is it?
So you like the lightbox only instead of the thumbnail grid layout? JIG is primarily just the thumbnails, lightboxes are just extras or a necessity.
Well you could place a JIG, hide it with CSS, and put a custom JS on your button that redirects the click onto a JIG thumbnail. This will open a JIG lightbox. This needs a few lines with “jQuery click”.
I know I can allow my visitors to download images individually by using the download link setting on the lightboxes tab, but is there a way to make it so ONLY the “Download” link is displayed without the image title showing? Basically, I would like to only display link that says “Download” under each photo.
Sure, just choose an empty/unused field for Lightboxes tab > What text to show… AND combine it with Download link and experiment which option shows the link where the Title used to be.
Not sure I understand completely …so I would need to “Add New Custom Field” to every image, leave that field blank and then make it the “Lightbox custom field”?
No, just use one of the 4 where you have no data, so it won’t show anything besides the Download link. Make it “alt text” or “caption” you probably don’t have all 4 available WP fields filled out on every image.

Heart or Like count is very important.
JIG doesn’t have like count heart symbol near the thumbnail, sorry. Recent posts feature is included though.
Some of my galleries are not showing. Instead there is the following text:
“The requested photo source cannot be loaded at this time. Service currently unavailable (Site Disabled)”
I can’t seem to find any commonality among the affected galleries.

It seems to work fine at the moment. You are using Jetpack Photon its image CDN for images, so that should be good.
“The requested photo source cannot be loaded at this time. ” This part comes from JIG, the latter part comes from Flickr. Seems like their API was down, could it be? Do you use the Flickr caching setting in JIG to not overwhelm their API, possibly resulting in rate limiting?

I just migrated from jonathon.co to loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk – your plugin plays a huge part in my site but now my site doesn’t display correctly using JIG.
I have a paid licence.
On my homepage I can see a JIG linking to 3 blog posts works correctly = perfect. But click on the posts linked to from the homepage, and those posts display no images. The posts have a default WordPress gallery, but I set up JIG to replace default WP gallery – I do this through my entire site so I have a fallback if JIG goes down.
ANy idea what to do? Great plugin, I’m not even sure it’s a JIG issue, but the gallery thumbnails display if I deactivate JIG, so I guess it;s related?
Just tested latest JIG with WP 5.2.2 alpha and the automatic take over works fine. Is there any other gallery plugin or could your theme be overriding normal WP galleries? Have you created those galleries with Gutenberg or “Add Media -> Create Gallery”?
Hi, thanks for the reply. I don;t think there’s been any other gallery plugins used for a long time, and the galleries were all working perfectly on the old domain. Can you suggest a way to check if any other old gallery plugin ,might be causing this after the migration? Galleries were all created using the pre-Gutenberg standard WP ‘add gallery’ then instructing JIG to take over the gallery.
Well, a search for
remove_shortcode('gallery'); or remove_shortcode( 'gallery' ); or remove_shortcode("gallery"); or remove_shortcode( "gallery" ); would help narrow it down, but this would be performed against all files of your plugins and theme. Resolved. I copied the JIG settings from the old domain to the JIG settings on the new domain – sorted.

Actually, I see that the JIG only loads properly when I’m logged in as Admin, but I get the “All the images failed to load” error when I view incognito mode…
I followed the error checking and get the following message in a new tab: “A TimThumb error has occured The following error(s) occured: An error occured fetching image.

In fact when i’m logged in as admin, JIG repeats a lot of the thumbnails, it doesn’t display individual thumbnails correctly.
If I remove my CDN (cdn.loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk) from the Tim Thumb & CDN tab, JIG loads just fine.
I spoke with my CDN provider, Stackpath, who basically said that it’s not possible to use JIG with a CDN, becuase all thumbnails are displayed using PHP, and that cannot ever be cached. Switching on the CDN setting with JIG caused the galleries to not load correctly, and even though cdn appeared int he URL, it was bypassing caching. Not so good. I can get the galleries to display but cannot cache using stackpath. ANy tips for a way to cache image galleries using a CDN/JIG, or other ways to enhance and speed up displaying galleries when using JIG?
Hi, in your copied error from above, the image URL has the cdn word twice as the subdomain (cdn.cdn). Stackpath used to be called MaxCDN and it worked just fine for JIG users, just like AWS CloudFront. We prefer CloudFlare as it’s free but still has the most amount of points of presence before Akamai. It doesn’t change any URLs and the setup is far easier.
Is it set to have a push or pull configuration? Try pull, and find a setting called forward query strings and make sure it’s enabled.

Is the cdn.mywebsite.com part real or you rewrote it? What CDN are you using? Have you touched the “replace site’s hostname with” setting in JIG TimThumb tab?

Is it on push or pull configuration? Are you forwarding query strings in the CDN config? It should be pull (as these are indeed no static files that can be pushed, but when pulled they seem static), and query strings forwarded. Customers were able to use it with AWS CloudFront, but we prefer CloudFlare as it has the most amount of points of presence.

Yes you can, 2 different ways. One is to limit the number of thumbnails but allow the rest (hidden limit). https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/facebook/latest-album/#! The other is to create “straight to lightbox” way: https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/facebook/straight-to-lightbox-albums/ The source does not have to be Facebook.

So I’ve followed all directions for facebook, and have connected it to a page, I click on that page in settings and it recognizes the 20+ albumns. I go to shortcode editor and go to facebook tab, it doesn’t show any pages/albums/ and says I need to go back and check settings to add. Is this a current issue with Facebook and the plugin in general or am I missing something?

You are getting 403 errors. You have 2 lightboxes, magnific popup (invisible but causes the grey) and photoswipe. Which one do you need?
photo swipe…I don’t see magnetic in my shortcode. I haven’t changed this setting in months so not sure why the issue?
