i just discover the plugin doesn’t work anymore on my site. everything was working well 3 weeks ago, and now when i go on my site, or if i add a new page, the gallery item are diplayed 1 per row, without any styles

Hi, do you use JIG shortcode or auto take over of WP galleries? JIG doesn’t seem to be active on your site or doesn’t know about your galleries.
i use [gallery ids=”2553,2541,2544,2547,2550,2556”] ( normal wp shortcode ) and my settings is checked on “Yes, act in place of the native WP gallery: Gutenberg block or [gallery] shortcode.” ps : and last time i come on the site it was working. The only change is the wordpress core update.
i just give a try to deactivate & reactivate the plugin -> no changes. Set the settings to “no, leave [gallery] ...” and back to “yes, act in place” -> no changes.

Hi, the support FAQ says that Google Photos is no longer supported due to the API being discontinued, but as of October 2018 there is a new Google Photos API. I’m using it via another plugin and it works well. Is work underway to support the new API? I purchased JIG but then realized it did not fully support this option, would happily buy another round of maintenance if this were added.
Some time ago (when Casper Baghuis brought the new API to our attention) we found a problem: “direct access through the baseUrl expires after 60 minutes”
We tested and when trying to access an old baseUrl (of an image), it gets jumped to another new URL (if logged in to Google). If logged out, the original baseUrl prompts us to log in. If we use the jumped new URL, it works without logging in (presumably, for an hour). This causes problems when caching plugins store the page along with JIG on it, that references the original URL, which expires. A really silly approach from Google. They try to prevent that people use their system as a CDN, while this doesn’t truly achieve that as we could create new requests every hour just to refresh image URLs.
It would require JIG to use their API through AJAX requests as initiated from the frontend. So, for now, due to technical reasons this is not yet possible.
Thanks for the quick reply! The way it worked for Photonic I had to enable data access to my account in the developer console which was complicated for an end user, but once I figured it out it worked fine. Same process for WP-Use-Your-Drive. I’m able to access new folders and albums that I’ve created and display them in galleries in my site.
All right, we’ll take a look how others are doing that, as we are not ruling out the possibility of more sources like Google, but for now, we are focusing on another new project. No need to extend support in expectation of reducing the ETA of this feature.
I use this plugin for a flickr gallery. Its awesome. I’m thinking of moving to 500px, can I get the same functionality with the plugin?

But the difference between that and Flickr integration is using RSS feeds vs. a dedicated API. So it’s not the same functionality, but for starters it might be okay.

Hi, I just purchaced the Justified Image Grid plugin. I want to use the Recent post -function but for me it’s useless unless i can’t display posts ordered by menu order. (the order my client wants to and they don’t want to mess around with dates or order numbers)
So is it possible, now it seems to me that the only function is to display posts by date?

On the general tab you can see the “order by” setting where you can choose the menu order which is compatible with most drag n drop post order plugins that work by changing what’s already in WordPress but not exposed via the UI.

First let me congratulate you for the amazing work you put into developing this amazing plugin. I never dreamed of having so many options for a wordpress gallery. That being said, I do have a question if you don’t mind. Is there an option to disable the ‘zoom’ feature of PhotoSwipe? Let me be clear, I am not talking about the zoom button, I am talking about the images being upscaled if you use a screen resolution bigger than the image size eg. 1800×1200 on a 4k monitor is upscaled to 2000×1400 something and they end up looking really bad. ANy help would be very appreciated! Thanks
It has some zoom options but they are related to the manually activated zoom. https://photoswipe.com/documentation/options.html
When just opening an image it shouldn’t upscale anything. If the image is too small for the monitor it should just sit at the center with lots of black areas around it. What you are experiencing could be OS-level scaling or dpi scaling, that works on text, but regular images just look pixelated unless they are served larger than they appear in their containers (retina). JIG has retina solution for thumbnails but not sure what you could do about the lightbox on a scaled 4K monitor.
Oh I understand what you’re saying, it is probably from the WIndows 10 Scale and Layout feature which on a 4k monitor is up to 150%. I guess you were right. Thanks!

Eventually yes, but only once central JIG creation added so the block would just let you choose a JIG you already created elsewhere.
Before buying, I’m curious whether JIG could be used in custom php to display a gallery associated with the category of the current post.
JIG can be shown via PHP, and what you pass to its shortcode tag is up to you. Yes you could set it up as a “related gallery” if you have the category of the current post in a variable.
Before I buy, I’d like to get a sense of whether I can create the following: on a single post page, show an album of links to galleries that are related to the post (by category, ACF, or custom post type—it doesn’t matter to me as long as I can find a way to do this). Any ideas about if I could do this and how?
Oh, and I’m using Real Media Library, if that matters.
With PHP you can pass JIG any taxonomy or other posts that are related to the current one. “Related” is not an out of the box feature, you need a 3rd party plugin (like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/related-posts-by-taxonomy/ ) to gather related stuff. Other galleries should be on individual pages/posts and them tagged/categorized appropriately. If they merely exist in RML and not shown on standalone pages, it’s not enough.

v3.9.3 is the last version. The problem comes from having invalid value for either of these settings:
General tab: Max height, Target row height, Row height deviation. They should be unitless numbers, but perhaps they have values with px, spaces or letters around them or similar, check it.

Hi, I am trying to show self hosted videos (jetpack) in a lightbox using a custom post type named videos. The reason I want to use posts; is so I can upload my videos, and schedule the posts to be published in the future.
I am adding the videos to the post using a shortcode. I am using a blank page template as to not show anything except the video.
I have been able to link to the video post with JIG, but not show it in a lightbox.
The end result would be my image galleries in one tab, and my videos on a seperate tab. This way the user does not need to navigate away from the link page. Is it possible to do this with JIG?

Put the link to the video file in the JIG link field of the featured image of your post. In JIG Shortcode Editor, Recent Posts tab choose to “Use custom links”.
As for the end result put 2 different JIGs in your theme’s or builder’s tabs element/block.

If I stop generating the additional thumbnails and upload only the original image with a plugin like “Stop Generating Image Sizes”(https://wordpress.org/plugins/image-sizes/), will this gallery plugin still work? I.e will it display everything OK and not rely on thumbnail sizes?
It uses the lightbox image size as base, as it has its own thumbnail creation method. On the JIG site, most WP generated sizes are disabled (the theme alone would create some 10 different versions). As long as you have a large or a full (original) JIG will be able to create its own thumbs. If you’d rather not use timthumb because you allow a certain, generated thumbnail size, you can do this: https://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/disable-timthumb-still-thumbnails/
So yes it doesn’t depend on WP image sizes.

Hi, could you ask your hosting’s support as to why it could be or what changed? It might help if you enbled https on your site (you can get free ssl from letsencrypt). Was it working with specifically Flickr before or did you have a gallery of on-site images?
