Hi,
I have a problem that if I want to make any changes to a Justified image grid, it refuses to show the changes (if I add, reorder or delete a photo.) I’ve been going crazy trying to fix it because I love the way this plugin displays, but it’s not practical if I can never make a change to a gallery. Help is appreciated. Apologies if it’s been answered before… just point me to where the solution is!
Just use JIG this way:
1. Go to Settings -> Justified Image Grid -> General settings
2. Find the “Behavior of the plugin” section
3. In the setting “Take over and replace [gallery] WordPress gallery shortcodes”, select “Yes, act in place of the [gallery] shortcode.” – this will automatically apply Justified Image Grid on your existing galleries.
Then continue creating galleries with WordPress’ Add Media button.
If you use any caching plugins don’t forget to clear the cache.

IN the setting menu there is only the option of “jQuery v2.0.3, fallback to WP’s. Does not support Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8. “

I noticed that there are still Wordpress jquery functions still loading. Am I right to assume that these are not needed as you are loading from Google CDN. If not are we able to deregister these functions?

That’s jQuery UI, JIG has nothing to do with that as it’s not using it. JIG only tries to influence the actual jQuery itself, and does not deregister anything else. Also it can be fairly easily overwritten by other plugins and also by not using best practices.
OK. Do I actually need this Jquery UI and can I deregister it via function or is it required.
I don’t know but it’s probably reqiured by your theme if it’s there.

Where would the users come from? What kind of profile are we talking about, Facebook, WP user, Instagram or? Frontend uploaded user content? In some way it could be possible but I need more info.
Hi, I’m trying to get “Justified Image Grid” to work with “Responsive Wordpress Flipbook”. Is there a way to link an image to the flipbook shortcode “[responsive-flipbook id=”1977_movie_program”]”, or use the <a href="#1977_movie_program" data-fb-id="1977_movie_program" data-fb-fs="#ededed|95|true" class="rfbwp-popup-book "></a> to open the flipbook OnClick. Would the flipbook load on its own page or in the lightbox?
You can use the JIG Link field to link a thumbnail anywhere. It’s in the media library on every image, once you edit one.
If the flipbook is a custom post type you can do this automatically without manual links using the recent posts feature in JIG.
When I specify the tag [justified_image_grid ng_gallery=12] in a post, the index page which show all the posts will show EVERY single picture of a gallery for each of the post on the index page, which make the index page load very slow. I wonder if there is anyway that it will only show one “featured image” in the index page, and when you click on the featured image it will actually go to the post and show all the pictures? Thanks.
Hi, there is a solution for that, or at least very close.
Use the JIG global settings > General tab > Blog view limit setting. JIG will place a text link under the truncated gallery that prompts the visitor to go to the post and leave the index. You can customize the link of this text (“View the rest of the gallery” by default).
Facebook share via prettyphoto is not working correctly. I have found several people with this problem. I want to share one picture, not a whole gallery.
If there is no fix I would like a refund.
Please contact me from my profile and also include a link to the gallery on your page. There is al almost always a way to make it work usually it’s just a caching problem or a minor conflict.

Try not to use the YouTube rss url but set a normal YouTube link that is for the channel itself. Exactly how you mentioned here, your second link. In a recent update it was made possible around the time when YouTube discontinued the rss support.

Please update to v2.8.1 as you have v2.4 and RSS of YouTube has changed since then.

I have a quick question about “filter” functionality in your new gallery. I can’t find a way to add a taxonomies to my images (nor tag, nothing..). I have many images which are not associated with posts, but still I want to have them filterable. Unfortunately WP does not allow tagging a simple image. Please let me know how to manage to make my images filterable?

Great that you found it. I recommend the media library assistant plugin it’s very powerful and much better than the simple tag and category field that JIG enables.

JIG global settings and the main settings screen. If you don’t have the verify ssl peer setting then you have an old version. Anyway make sure you have the latest version.I’m glad Instagram works well for you.
Hi! first of all great plug in… so many options its actually hard to learn at first… but once I got past the issues with timthumb and the like I was good… now, i am displaying my flickr gallery no problem. but… at the bottom of the images on my JIG, they are displaying my flickr account name and album description… how can i turn that off? TIA
Is that the caption or outside the actual thumbnails? You can turn off all captions on the captions tab but if it’s outside the thumbnails then look into the Flickr tab for breadcrumb setting in case you use collections.
Hello, I am having an issue. The grid on JIG seems to be calculating the correct thumbnail sizes, but moves the last image in the first row to become the first image in the second row, resulting in a grid that is no longer justified what-so-ever. It has been this way for me in Firefox and IE since the beginning. However today it just started to happen in chrome as well. Since chrome is >50% of traffic it’s now a huge problem! It still works correctly in Opera. Know a solution?
It works when I remove the thumbnail spacing. Not ideal but workable. Hope you didn’t miss my comment since I was last on the page. I would like a fix, seems like it should adjust for spacing.

Hello im having very slow website loading time. Im testing it on https://gtmetrix.com and it says that this pluging is the problem. I am using youtube rss feeds, how can i reduce the loading time?
It advice me: “Remove query strings from static resources,Defer parsing of JavaScript,Optimize images”
Use cloudflare to speed things up. Query strings can’t be removed from thumbnails. Defer parsing is challenging for systems such as WordPress as things will start to go wrong if scripts are not loaded in order but you can take a chance with caching plugins such as w3 total cache. Optimize images is something that is different. Since thumbnails are created on the fly and at a specific size there’s not much control over how they are optimized.It’s much better to use the fee cdn, cloudflare.

Do you mean filtering the rss on the front-end by visitors, or by you in the admin? None of these are possible out of the box but with some custom script it might work.

I get There are no photos or post IDs Those With 1804 does not have any attached images ! when I add a gallery post .
It may be surprising but this error may indicate just what it says. “There are no photos with those IDs or post * does not have any attached images!” You may have an empty shortcode or a malformed shortcode that defaults to being an empty shortcode. Without valid attributes belonging to an image source, a shortcode would just look for attached images of a post. You can check the following:
If you wish to show WordPress Media Library photos that are uploaded to the post, make sure they are in fact attached.
In case your shortcode contains the ids attribute, check if they actually exist in the media library. They may have been deleted since you created the shortcode. You could just use the automatic take-over feature, that replaces all native WordPress galleries, so there is no fiddling with IDs or shortcodes.
Maybe there is a typo in the shortcode or it is malformed and contains invalid attributes and values. Only use the Shortcode Editor to create and modify shortcodes. It should not contain line breaks.
Hi. How do I show ALL posts in a category? I actually only have one category anyway. Currently I only get 9 rows – I don’t know why. I have tried using recent posts and without recent posts. I want ALL posts to show. Thanks.
Set limit to 0, there is a default limit of 50 that may translate to about 9 rows.
Thanks – the 9 rows was because I had 300px set. I removed that and I get 6 rows as standard and 35 images:

I have about 70 images in total in the same category so can’t understand why not all are showing in the grid.

If your avatar shows up for all missing posts then they simply don’t have a featured image. Otherwise if you use WPML only translated posts show up.

If you come up with a meaningful placeholder, you don’t need to rush and figure out a featured image for all of them. That’s what the placeholder is for. I’m glad it’s sorted now.
How does this work on iphones/android devices? Is it responsive? I know it says mobile detect but when I go look at other sample sites, the gallery does not look all that well on mobile that you can barely see the X at the top right of the screen. It does swipe and all that. I have a certain customer I need to pull images from Facebook, so I need this to be good for their platform. They use a Visual Composer platform and customer use mobile phones. Are you good on these?

You can drag photoswipe downward by touch to close it, no need for the X at all.
You’ll be able to add JIG to a text box in visual composer, by accessing the WP visual editor’s toolbar. Better VC compatibility is coming though.

When I use the shortcode, my whole site goes to white. I maxed out memory on php.ini file but still the same result. Any other ideas??

It could be that the way you set the memory limit did not affect WP itself, just PHP.
Navigate to the WordPress installation folder and edit the wp-config.php file.
Find this line if it exists and change its value, otherwise add:
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');
Or even 256M
Yes, I changed it to true and my memory is 128 but no error line shows up. Still all white.
Do you have access to the error log then? Also, look for “error_log” files in your WordPress directory on FTP.
I contacted my host. They created a php.ini file increasing memory to 192M

2. Yes, it allows you to use presets while making a few settings global regardless of a preset. This is best and most used for lightbox settings. The more settings changed to orange, the less distint the presets will look on your site.
Blue
Blue settings belong to the presets and are saved to custom presets. When a preset is selected, the blue settings from the admin area are disregarded.
Orange
Orange settings are outside of presets, and not saved to custom presets. When a preset is selected, they act as global settings from the admin area.
Gray
Gray settings have nothing to do with presets and are protected. They are global, site-wide choices by design and control how the plugin works.
3. You’d just select “links-off” in the lightbox setting (Turn the links off, only show thumbnails. Disable pointer cursor and clickability.)
thanks again – perfect!! maybe you could offer a global preset in a future relase – so for projects where you use same galleries over and over again – those could controlled via preset. sometimes its just easier to make a tiny change and see how the look appears on every different page…

It’s called custom presets and is already built in. Or if you don’t choose a preset in the shortcode then all JIG settings are global.
