I’m not sure what that folder is, but the feed option pulls images that appear here: https://www.facebook.com/super8scarnival/timeline Perhaps there is a setting for Facebook pages which lets you show photos posted by others on the timeline? Such as with user profiles.
Is it possible to pull the photos from this link? https://www.facebook.com/super8scarnival/photos_stream?tab=photos It appears that even if i share someone elses photo to the pages timeline this plugin doesnt add it to the feed.
It also seems to be https://www.facebook.com/super8scarnival/posts_to_page
Contact me from my profile, I just tested it with a page and it works fine, I wish to show you.
hi While puting the shortcode for the gallery: – I got this message: The Justified Image Grid JS is not loaded. Try disabling Conditional script loading in the General settings. I did didabled it - No: Load all scripts, supports AJAX / dynamic loading / animated page loads without refresh. no matter what I do – still unable to view the galley properly – only when i bring it back to [gallery …] It functions without the lightbox
any idea?
thanks raanan
Send me a link where this happens please. There could be a broken JS on the page, preventing JIG from working.
Is it possible to mix media types for the justified image grid? IE, if I want my grid to include both video from vimeo as well as images, is that possible? I want to do what is displayed in the section below the main slider here : http://www.johngroup.com/
(note they have vimeo videos as well as images in that grid)
Yes you can do that but not mix the sources. E.g. an automatic vimeo video gallery (Vimeo RSS feed) mixed with WP media library is not possible.
However, if you have media library images with custom links to play vimeo videos, then yes of course. Those pictures where you don’t set a vimeo video custom link, will continue to open an image in the lightbox oppposed to a video.
great work around thanks!
No problem! Please rate the plugin, if you haven’t already. Thanks
Hey there, I am using the preset 18, and I wonder if there is a possibility to have the hover text appearing on mobile devices immediately when the gallery/page is loaded – not only after the respective image (active) is opened… any idea how to manage that? TIA
Set the mobile caption stlye to fixed and the captions will show up at all times. The “below” style is also good for mobiles as they don’t cover the thumbnails that way. These are on the captions tab in the shortcode editor.
Hi, I am trying to make this plugin work on my new VPS (nginx, hhvm, redis) and images don’t load … I get this error in console: ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH - any ideas?
Can you send me a link where this happens? I haven’t seen that error before, could be unrelated.
Hi there, I wonder if one of the lightboxes opens the image in fullscreen mode – which do I need do set up? thanks in advance.
I also notice that when I change the lightbox (element) nothing changes, that means no matter if I choose prettyPhoto, colorbox, etc… the result is the same – same lightbox… any idea?
That lightbox is PhotoSwipe4 and also FooBox can do it with a fullscreen button.
Perhaps you use a preset in the shortcode? Presets contain a lightbox preference too.
You can pass through your lightbox selections to disregard presets, using the “preset authority” button in the settings and turning the first two blue settings to orange on the lighboxes tab.
YES!! thanks for the quick response… I thought the ‘default’ would mean that it loads the preset from the main menu, since I am only using one kind of lightbox and gallery… adding the settings within the gallery did the math… and photoSwipe is sufficient for my needs – for now
. thanks!!
Great!
Hi, I have a pre-sales question: I want to be able to display in the lightbox pop-up, images that are not being displayed in the current page, I want to display just ONE thumbnail (album cover) that when it’s clicked on, it will trigger the lightbox with the whole gallery that’s inside. I saw an example of exactly that on the product details page, under the secction “Image sources > NextGen Gallery > Galleries”. I wonder if I can make that work with my media folder? Or does it have to be an external displayment of images so the thumbs can be generated for the lightbox to pick? Thanks for your time.
Hi, that is available for Flickr collections, Facebook albums, NextGEN.
If you just use WP media library, then you can use a thing called “hidden limit”.
Display x or just one single thumbnail but load all the rest in the lightbox. However, this means one set of images per JIG gallery, and no multiple albums next to each other like the above methods. You could put multiple JIG galleries near each other and possibly utilize theme columns.
Thank you for your fast response. I’m very glad to hear that there is a way to make it work the way I want it! Now, please help me clarify on the WP source option;
1) Could I get the same results (album cover thumb) that with with flickr/facebook/nextgen feed if I use a different WP page, or even a different WP site within the same domain, that has a gallery with similar structure? meaning Album cover and gallery content structure? for example this; http://www.davidbo.dreamhosters.com/?page_id=139#*
2) If I use a togged gallery widget in the page and keep it closed (so the pics won’t show) would the lightbox still pick up the images? maybe that’s a way out of the “1 album cover view” I want to achive.
Thanks so much for your time!
1. If you use “Recent posts” feature then you can put individual galleries to pages or posts. Then show an overview of these using featured image as the cover image. Upon entering a gallery this way, the browser will navigate to the specific page for that gallery.
Note that the “gallery” contents cannot be opened directly on the overview page this way. That’s only with Flickr, Facebook, NextGEN.
2. There is no need for tricks like this. The hidden limit takes care of hiding the remaining tthumbnails. See this: http://justifiedgrid.com/preset-10-hidden/ It’s just one gallery of 100 pictures but only a limited amount of it is visible (this can be set down to 1).
THANKS for the good Pre-sales disposition. Last iquiry; Does the loading time is considerable slower when feeding from outside source as opposed from same page? Do you sell an add-on for filer/sorting effects? I can still use filer options when feeding from Facebook/flick or nextgen, right?
It’s about the same speed, once the list of images has been requested and cached. You can set up caching time for external sources.
Facebook doesn’t have anything to filter by. Flickr has tags but multiword tags are displayed as a single word (an API limitation). NextGEN has the tags and you can also filter by gallery name each image belongs to (unique JIG feature). For your situation NextGEN is probably the best choice. Flickr is also to be considered. Sorry there is no demo of its Collections feature yet.
Effects while sorting is not possible, I’m not using the free library that other plugins have. This is better for larger amount of thumbnails though. There is no frontend sorting (as in, the visitor changing the order). External image sources are sorted at the source and not by JIG.
Hello! I am using JIG to display images from recent posts using the post’s featured image. It’s awesome. The problem: I use Jetpack’s publicize so each time I post it posts to Facebook. If a user clicks the post in Facebook, it goes to the post but there’s no image (the featured image is not visible in-post), so the user just sees a blank post. My posts don’t have text – only a featured image which shows the image in the JIG on my website. I post through email so can’t add in a 301 redirect in my website’s backend settings. Is there any way that I can set all JIG recent posts to redirect to my homepage (for example) if clicked on in Facebook (for example)? Thanks!
What are you trying to do? Why do your posts have no text and only featured image? Why doesn’t the theme display the featured image? It’s one thing that you post via email, but to administer your site you should have a backend access, why not? A redirect in functions.php would be the solution.
Anyhow, use JIG shortcode edtior > General tab > Custom link override
link_override Use this custom link on every image in the grid, for special purposes.
Set your target URL then all thumbnails will point where you want them to.
Also look into the
Recent posts tab > Use custom links
recents_custom_links Use the JIG Link of featured images, can override recents_link_to.
Thanks! It’s all good – I run a photo site so only post images. I don’t need any text. The theme does display the featured image but I of course use the JIG to display images; I create a post, attach an image as a featured image and the JIG displays it. It works perfectly. All I want to do is redirect post clicks from links to my post in social media to my home page – at the moment it just opens a blank post because the image is attached as a featured image and not embedded in the post. When somebody clicks an image from the JIG in my website it just opens the lightbox which is perfect. In terms of backend access, I of course do have that but when I’m out and about I much prefer to post my images using email on my iPhone – much faster and more convenient than finding a desktop PC! Thanks for the reply,
I really think you may have thought of everything for this plugin. Very impressive!
I’m glad you like it
Yes this pipeline makes sense because you post on the go.
Is there a setting to animate the filtering process? Some other plugins do a sort of flowing fade transition as you click on different filter buttons.
No, sorry it’s not possible. This plugin doesn’t use the free library that those other plugins use. Animation is fine for a couple of thumbnails but is slow for hundreds.
Hi there, great plugin! Instagram images from tags aren’t loading after about 45 weeks on my site. The pictures are all using the same tag but anything after that isn’t showing on my website. This applies on all the different galleries I’ve set up with different hash tags. How can I fix this?
Do you have v2.7 of JIG? If not, update then try again.
I have now updated and no change. Some of the pictures I’m trying to load were posted around 67 weeks ago and I hashtagged the entire gallery and only the more recent images are loading. My code is as follows (substituting the filter on different pages but using the same code on each one to create portfolios):
[justified_image_grid instagram_recents=452590252 instagram_tag_filter=gregrylak img_alt_field=off row_height=200 height_deviation=50 link_title_field=title img_alt_field=off caption=off instagram_caching=60 lightbox=foobox limit=0 last_row=flexible-match aspect_ratio=1:1 load_more=hybrid load_more_limit=16 load_more_count_text=none]
The limit=0 will default to a limit of 100 pictures (out of which your tagged ones will be shown). Because Instagram API only allows pulling 20 images per request, showing more content would take considerably longer. Change this to limit=500 (an upper maximum). If you have lots of content, then some of the older ones will not show up, it’s normal and a limitation of their API. For example you tagged one picture and since then you took 500 other photos, that one picture cannot be shown.
Hello,
I have a rendering issue on iOS, using Chrome or Safari. I want to display a single image, square ratio that should be full width. Either the image is displayed with the good height but only a part of the width (~50px) either JIG only loads a very small image (i’d say 64×64) that stays in the top left corner of where the grid should be.
I added a custom js to correct the height of the row after loading, but it shouldn’t be the issue and I even tried without it .
It only happens on the actual iPhone, when using Chrome device simulation the image is correctly rendered.
Here’s a link, 3rd image below the big one (instagram) : http://www.crapules.eu/
Hi, sorry but I don’t have a physical iPhone, can only check with desktop and it works fine.
Enter 1 to the aspect ratio setting and use the “disable cropping” setting too. Set a large row height, such as 300.
What is your custom JS? It shouldn’t need that. Please note that JIG fits to width and not to height.
The issue is only happening on real Apple devices, iPhone or iPad (I asked few friends and they all have the issue). I can send you screenshots if needed. I tried with or without Jetpack Photon, in case it was messing up, but no luck.
The settings are already aspect ratio 1, cropping disable and row height over 500 I think.
I don’t have access right now to my custom js but basically it gets the height of the adjacent block (produit or video). Not sure if I can do it purely with your setting since the ratio is not constant neither the height. Tell me if I’m wrong
.
Plus, I tried without that custom code and it has the exact same issue.
I can provide you the whole settings, custom js and screenshots in few hours if needed.
Thank you!
Contact me from my profile with a screenshot. But without access to a real device I doubt there will be a quick solution :/
Ok, I just sent you an email via your profile. Thank you
I’ll check it out.
Love the plugin! Any plans to add a text search option for finding photos in a gallery?
Thanks!
Yes it’ll get added to filtering eventually, stay tuned. No ETA on it yet though.
Great plugin! I have created four images from featured pages on a wordpress site. The titles appear wonderfully, as do the featured images, excerpts and links. It’s all good. But the problem is they line up in a column not in a row. So there are four images all lined up one under the other. If I add a text widget beneath them it adds text in what appears to be the “second column.”
This is so close and so frustrating. i just need these four to line up in a row! Here is the shortcode I am using. I am using outreach pro from studio press if that makes any difference.
Thanks so much for any help!
Hi, it will be a CSS comflict. But before solving it I’ll need to verify your purchase and a link to your site.
I will check with the fellow I am helping. What do you need for proof of purchase?
Contact me from my profile using the account you used to purchase it with or send me the purchase code (also retrievable using that account or from the settings of JIG, if it’s filled for autoupdates).
I just purchased the plugin. I read your license agreement and it seems clear that if I am working on a separate site I should purchase a separate instance of the plugin. I am happy to do this and have just made that purchase. I will contact you. thanks.
Replied.
Hello,
My programmer and I are all confused here. Is there a way for users submitted images to show on the ” Justified grid Gallery”?
In another word, can our users/subscribers upload directly their media into your plugin’s gallery?
Regards.
Install the free Frontend Uploader plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/frontend-uploader/
Go to or create a post on which you’ll accept user uploads.
Insert this shortcode:
[fu-upload-form]
And also add this shortcode, where you wish to show a gallery of uploaded photos:
[justified_image_grid]
You’ll need to approve uploaded entries by default. You can do so in the Media > Manage UGC screen. This approval process can be turned off at Settings > Frontend Uploader Settings screen.
Approved content will show up on the page automatically, it’s that simple.
Hi. nice plugin (PhotoSwipe <3). Just missing the Visual Composer Part to be perfect !
VC compatibility is coming, until then you can just place JIG in a text block (it has access to the visual editor where the JIG Shortcode Editor button resides).
HI!! I’m using your plugin in our media page. But when I enter purchase code for validation & auto-update then its not working. How to solve it??
If you are already using the latest version, you’ll only see it working when there is a new version. Or does the auto update say anything in particular?
Hello,
I have a problem with your plugin.
I use the plugin “FancyBox for WordPress” for the lightboxes. I use it for a long time, and it’s good.
When I’m on a gallery, all is fine when I click on a picture, it’s open in lightboxe.
But when I click on a filtering button, and after I click on a picture, the lightboxe doesn’t work.
what to do to make it work ?
Thanks.
Another solution (and the better I think) is to use Prettyphoto in the lightboxes options of the JIG plugin, but in this case, the images which are in the posts without JIG, don’t open in lighboxes. Or maybe there is a solution for that (activate Prettyphoto for all images of the site, and not only the JIG) ? Thanks.
Hi, you just need to fill the “Custom lightbox JS call” setting in JIG settings > Lightboxes tab. It tells JIG how to re-activate fancy whenever necessary.
It’s not possible to apply JIG lightboxes outside JIG.
Hi, thanks for your reply.
But I don’t understand :
1- when you say “you just need to fill the “Custom lightbox JS call” setting in JIG settings > Lightboxes tab”, it’s “Custom: I already use a lightbox plugin so I’ll set up the link class and/or rel accordingly.” in the “Lightbox type” section, ok ?
I have this, but it’s the problem I said in the first post : When I’m on a gallery, all is fine when I click on a picture, it’s open in lightboxe.
But when I click on a filtering button, and after I click on a picture, the lightboxe doesn’t work.
2- If I choose “prettyPhoto” and desactivate “FancyBox for WordPress” plugin, the problem is than I have no lightboxes in the post with image which are not in JIG.
And if I active “FancyBox for WordPress” plugin with “PrettyPhto” option, there is two lighboxes opened when I click on a image in a JIG.
So, in this two cases, there is a problem.
1. Do you have v2.7 or are you looking at the JIG settings? It’s a separate setting only available in the global settings. Choosing custom lightbox is one thing, but you also need to add its JavaScipt call to JIG Settings (not the shortcode editor) > Lightboxes tab > Link attributes (also for custom lightbox) > Custom lightbox JS call.
$(JIG_selector).fancybox();
2. If you set it to custom lightbox in JIG then you will not get prettyPhoto, just fancybox using your 3rd party plugin. If you use presets in the shortcode then they choose prettyPhoto or ColorBox as they are part of the presets.
You can pass through your lightbox selections to disregard presets, using the “preset authority” button in the settings and turning the first two blue settings to orange on the lighboxes tab.
Hi! JIG worked like a charm when I first installed it but since then it does not seem to be connecting correctly with my Flickr account – it does not reflect changes I make to existing albums and does not recognize new albums. I tried two variations on the shortcode to get one particular album to load – I manually entered the photoset number into the shortcode to display the album, and also, in a second line of shortcode for testing, used the shortcode generator to specify thew tag all photos in that album have. Neither worked. I get the following :
“There are no photos that match your search criteria. The requested photo source cannot be loaded at this time. Photoset not found.”
The site is a private one – I can send you log in details. Thanks.
Yes please send me details privately via the form in my profile, thanks.
Hi – I am able to view a grid of my portfolio items with:
[justified_image_grid preset=3 row_height=240 orderby=title_asc last_row=match recent_posts=yes recents_post_type=portfolio ]
as soon as I add either an include or exclude things go wrong.
[justified_image_grid preset=3 row_height=240 orderby=title_asc last_row=match recent_posts=yes recents_post_type=portfolio recents_include=59 ] (i have tried ID and slug name)
This message appears: There are no recent posts with featured images.
Yet I already know they all have featured images for sure as I saw them in the previous grid.
Any tips?
Robert5
Hi, the “Include category” is only for the WP builtin category taxonomy. It might not be the category that your porfolio uses. Try “Filter by taxonomy” and choose portfolio category (I guess) then enter the slug of the term(s).
Thanks – I tried:
[justified_image_grid preset=3 row_height=240 orderby=title_asc last_row=match recent_posts=yes recents_filter_tax=portfolio_categories recents_filter_term=waterfront-place]
and still get the message: There are no recent posts with featured images.
(yes waterfront-place is the slug – do I need quotes or anything?)
yet with the shortcode: [justified_image_grid preset=3 row_height=240 orderby=title_asc last_row=match recent_posts=yes recents_post_type=portfolio ]
- I do see the grid with featured images just fine. (it just doesn’t limit it to one category – it shows all)
hi – adding it in there 2ce worked… [justified_image_grid recent_posts=yes recents_include=waterfront-place recents_filter_tax=portfolio_categories recents_filter_term=waterfront-place recents_post_type=portfolio]
Thanks for the tip!
Hi, the thing you were missing from the first shortcode was: recents_post_type=portfolio and not recents_include=waterfront-place but I’m glad it works now. Quotes are added automatically by the Shortcode Editor wherever needed.
