Hello, I purchased your pro version however I have noticed an issue. After stating “Thumbnail subfolder” i.e “Thumbnails” the thumbnails are moved to this location which seems fine but then in broken link checker plugin https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/broken-link-checker/ every single thumbnail is displayed as broken link. It seems link checker is not detecting the “Thumbnails” subfolder but using the parent folder location.
If I remove or unset the thumbnail subfolder to revert back to original location then regenerate thumbnails once again will the old thumbnails folder automatically remove old thumbnails from inside the subfolder?
Any advice would be great. Thank you

As I have already answered this within your chat conversation, but this can also be interesting for others: Yeah, it is able to regenerate such an amount of images, but it is recommend to take a backup of your site because Regenration itself can stress your server. And yeah, it is possible to only regenerate a list of selected thumbnail sizes. Regards, Matthew
Hello, Thank you for the great plugins you provide us. I bought all 4 your plugins that are already installed on my site and work perfectly. I am a beginner and I would like to ask you a few questions.
1. I use the Rank Math SEO plugin. Is there compatibility and will it work as expected after I moved the photo to a physical folder if I click the >> SEO Redirects button?
2. Would you recommend me a image optimization plugin that works well with your plugins?
3. Do I need to make any special settings ( to select All in Bulk Regenerate) in the Real Tumbhneil generator, because after pressing the regenerate button there are always 1 to 3 regeneration files left for the specific photo, which are not affected after pressing the regenerate button. The other thing I notice is that after regeneration the file volume increases instead of decreasing. This is most likely because unregenerated files remain?

great to hear that you have bought the full suite. To your questions:
1. We use standard WordPress functions to pass the changed file location back to the attachment details. Therefore, it should work perfectly with Rank Math.
2. We use Shortpixel on our own. Not only because it’s compatible, but also we have got the best results in terms of compression and image quality in several tests.
3.1. I cannot reproduce the bug that you have mentioned in a test installation. Please open a support ticket at devowl.io/support and provide an account to your WordPress backend. We will take a look at it!
3.2. Real Thumbnail Generator regenerate the sizes you have chosen. If they have not existed before, it will lead to more files. You can delete no longer registered thumbnails by clicking the “Delete unused thumbnails” button in the “Analyze” tab.
I have tried to open a support ticket on our site, and it works perfectly. Please give it another try!

hello, I am interested in your plugin but would like to know does it allow us to (block or not create unused and unnecesay thumbnail sizes and can it also delete not needed thumbnail sizes? wordpress + theme + extra plugins all create too many thumbnails in different sizes for every single image in a post.. this is not necessary when the only image that might need all the extra sizes is the first featured image not every single image in the body of the post but wordpress generates them all… does this plugin help us manage this issue in order to save HD space and make backups smaller etc etc? and will it allow us to regenerate specific size thumbs if we have made a mistake by deleting a size that is needed? .. I have your other media folder plugins and I am looking for a full and real solution to handle the bloated media library and massive excessive disk space it takes up due to thousands of thumbnails of various sizes that will never ever be viewed used or needed. does your plugin help manage this problem better ? also does your plugin optimise the generated thumbs as it creates them or do we still need additional image optimisation plugin as well?

Hi there! Thanks for your comment and sorry for the delayed answer. Unfortunately WordPress core does not allow defining per-image thumbnails. That means, if your WordPress instance registers a lot of thumbnail sizes, each image gets a lot of files. Also, Real Thumbnail Generator is not an optimization-plugin.
To your other question with GIFs: As we are using the WordPress core resizing functionality, we can not generate thumbnails of animated GIFs, they result in static PNG files.

any chance you could incorporate the “animated gif resize” plugin from the repository into your plugin so it resolves this issue?
That plugin works for the job but has been abandoned by the developer so no updates or support responses for several years however it does still actually work and there are links to browse the code and dev logs on the plugins repository page. I have just purchased this plugin to obtain the feature of placing thumbnails in separate folder so that I can then delete the ones that I do not want to keep. I have now purchased all 3 of your media handling plugins and encourage you to please keep working on them to perfect the wordpress media management and please consider my feature requests .
1) ability to select thumb sizes to delete in bulk and individual media items.
2) ability to regenerate just a single specific image size on its own if needed.
3) ability to automatically add media from ftp uploads directory to media library.

This is already possible. Open the regenerate tab and select the image sizes you want to regenerate.

Does this product allow for creation of thumbnails from Youtube, Vimeo or any uploaded videos?

this plugin regenerates thumbnails of uploads in the WordPress media library. As YouTube and Vimeo are different platforms that your website, this is not possible. Both platforms have an upload form for the thumbnails of videos, uploaded on these platforms.

Hi, Jan! Thank you for so promptly getting back to me. So what you’re saying is that Youtube and Vimeo have functionality built in to generate custom thumbnails? I know that these platforms will generate thumbnails of the posted videos, but they have limitations. Thanks again.

Is there a way to set `thumbnailFolder` to be from root of uploads folder?
I would like to have all the thumbs inside `uploads/thumbs` + whole structure and not as subfolder of image location. I suggest something like `//thumbs` (double slash) so that would indicate my feature.
Maybe introduce some simple action hook, so I can alter this freely?
Is it possible to help me somehow?
I can monkey-patch myself: just give me a hint where is best to put apply_filter; in which line of which file.

Just a side-node, we tried a similar thing a long time ago, unfortunately we were not able to put the thumbnail folder / picture one level up (technically WordPress was not able to resolve ”..” because it did not use realpath()).

Hi I would like to give the package a try for a week then buy if it works well, Having troubles getting the images to size correctly on some items, have found one that works but I have to regen everyone every time, tried 4 others and they dont work, so can we try yours if it works the purchase is of no issue I just dont want to purchase and then apply for a refund
