Hi, I purchased this item and had one question I should have asked before purchasing… -question could I hide menus to all except for one ultimate users, the super admin users. To explain a bit more. I have three administrators me being the super admin. Is this capable of hiding some menus to the others except me?

Hi, you should create another user role using a plugin like Members or User Role Editor, set all privileges as admin. Then assign other admins with that role, then use the plugin to hide menus for them.

The reason we have to do that is the plugin hides menus based on user role, not by user ID.

Thanks.

Hello, can I also sort the menus?

The plugin currently doesn’t support sorting. It does only “hide” job.

Hello there, I’ve posted a question on your forum, kindly give it a check.

Just replied you in the forum. Please check. Thanks!

hi: can i add my own menu item to admin menu list? thank you.

Hi, the plugin doesn’t do this task. It only “hide” menu items, not “add”.

Can I remove the following items for my subscriber role

On left side (My Sites Link including key icon) Right side (Search bar Icon)

I basically just want the buddy press menu – Thanks

Yes, the plugin works well with menu items in the admin bar.

it is compatible with wp 3.8 ?

Yes, absolutely. WP 3.8 changes its look, but not the code. Tested :)

Have you a fix for the plugin Contact Form7? It is always showing and can’t be checked off. One month ago I reported the error. Could you please help me?

I’ve fixed for Contact Form 7, it uses custom user role & capability. I’m fixing for Avada theme and will release new version. Please wait. Thank you.

Hello. First, thanks for the great plugin! :)

I’m facing two problems with the plugin:

1 – The permissions are not aggregating when an user have more than one role. Exemple: “Role 1” show “menu 1” and hide “menu 2”. “Role 2” shows “menu 2” and hide “menu 1”. The “User A” is in both “role 1” and “role 2”, but none of the above menus are showing (instead of showing both). For user in just 1 role, everything is perfect. Note: For multiple roles, i’m using the “User Role Editor” plugin.

2 – I don’t know if this is a problem, but i’m having to check boxes to HIDE menus, and not checking what what i whant to show. The instructions tell me to do the opposite and make more sense.

Thanks for your attention and sory for my english.

Hi,

1. Actually it’s correct. The plugin check if user has a role which won’t see a menu. In this case, role 1 doesn’t see menu 2, and role 2 doesn’t see menu 1 => so user doesn’t see both.

2. The instruction says “Choose menu items and corresponding roles which you want to HIDE”, which is correctly. Check boxes = hide menus. I don’t see any confusion here.

I second littleantz feature. I would love if you could add this feature to move menus around.

Hi,

Can I move submenu using this? For example I want to move widgets link from appearance Menu to Settings menu? Is that doable?

Or Perhaps rename the Menu Title. For example I want Apperance menu to be Skins menu?

Thanks

Unfortunately no. The plugin only hide menu items.

it is compatible with 3.7.1 ?

Yes, it is.

I just updated the plugin and now I cannot access the admin page through the URL. I have it hidden and I don’t know how to get into the settings. How can I get back to the settings when I’ve hidden users and the admin menu before I made the update?

Hi, you SHOULDN’T hide the admin page when you STILL want to access it via URL. The latest version does a good work on hiding menu items, which means hidden menu items are truely hidden (no accessible). To remove plugin settings, use a tool like phpMyAdmin to remove plugin’s options: “rw_hide_admin_menu” and “rw_hide_admin_bar”.

Or you can download this file: http://pastebin.com/QLFFgrAa and put it on your root folder and run it.

What if I want to hide things from a client and I want to still be able to access them. The client would also have to have admin access. I need to be able to hide things from the client but I myself still access them with both of us being admins?

You should setup another role for your client using a plugin like Members or User Role Editor. Just copy capabilities from admin to new custom role. After that, use the plugin to hide menus for that role.

Hello,

great plugin! Very easy to do what it has to do! I have one problem with contact form 7. As another person says above, I cannot hide the contact form 7 items.
If you need more information I can send you a login to my website. Thank you!

Hi sir, Thank you for this plugin, Please can i hide the help section ,see the following please: http://grab.by/rWsS

Regards

Hi, the plugins hides menu items only. This is a totally different thing. You can do that with this code http://stackoverflow.com/q/10392867.

Hi, Also interested in buying this plugin but I need to use it with Avada theme. So please notify when you will have fixed the issue notified by marcoAtMCMedia. Regards

Hi,

Something strange is happening on WP 3.7.1 with avada theme. I have to check things to not show them! Also things like contact form 7 is always showing and can’t be checked off. If you want you can get logging.

Marco

Hi Marco, thanks for noticing me. I’ve made note for this and will fix it.

Hi, I have a problem with Gravity Forms not showing. (WP 3.7, Hide Admin Menu 2.1.3, User Role Editor 4.6) I have created a new role which is a copy of Administrator and has all boxes checked. Even still the Hide Admin Menu is not showing the option under Forms. Do you know if this is something to do with URE? Thanks!

Hmm, I made the plugin compatible with Gravity Forms in previous version. I’ll check it out. Thanks.

Hi, I downloaded your plugin the other day and have been using it with multisite. Great plugin but one issue, when I’m setting Page > Add New to disabled for a user, it disabled from the menu but user can still go and create a new page….seems a bit pointless. There must be a fix for this?

Hi, I’m working on this feature. People still asking about this :)

Hi, the latest version now have feature to block access to hidden menus. Please try.

Hi guy ! How to hide with special members ?. I want show everything for them (except: Plugin, Theme, Setting).

Hi, sorry for late reply. To hide menus for specific members, please use a plugin like Members or User Role Editor to create a new role, and then assign users to that role. The plugin works on role, not on members :)

Hi,

hiding menu items will disable the access to that pages even forcing the url through the browser?

Thank you very much.

Hi, sorry for late reply. Unfortunately no, it only removes the menu from WordPress configuration.
