How di I hide items on the admin bar?
Please just go to Hide Admin Menu > Admin Bars to hide items. For more info, please check the docs here: http://fitwp.com/docs/hide-admin-menu/
Hey… just as a suggestion. Can you add the feature of create/duplicate a role as well? Usually i have to do that with other plugin to create the role of “Customer” and then give the menu that i want with your plugin. If i can do that just with your plugin would be awesome
Hi, that’s really great. However, working with user role is totally a different job and I think letting other plugins like Members or User Role Editor do would much better. It also provide more advanced options
<Great Plugin! Just a recommendation. I would change the note “No checkbox means the menu is not accessible for corresponding role”. To something along the lines of “If you do not see the checkbox for a specific role, it means that role by default does not have access to that menu.”I (as a few I have seen in the comments) thought that meant, if the box is not checked it means it’s not accessible to that role. Therefore I checked off ALL the boxes for admin and locked my self out.
I deleted the options in PHPMyAdmin as suggested but that could have easily been avoided.
Same thing happend to me just now ONE YEAR LATER ! Come on, how hard can it be to formulate it,so that can’t be misunderstood.
How abou this:
Checking a checkbox disables the access to the menu item for the corresponding role. If you’re the Administrator, don’t check any checkboxes unless you really want to lock yourself out of that menu item. If no checkbox is available it means the corresponding role cannot access the menu item by default (and you can’t enable it with this plugin either)
Thanks for your suggestion, I will update the plugin now
Thanks, that will help others.
Hi Rilwis,
I have a presages question. As the SuperAdmin, I have three menu locations and would like to completely hide 2 of them so administrators do not see, nor can they access them. I.e. Slide out menu and footer menu would be hidden so they cannot make changes. When the admin goes to “appearance-> Menus’ all they would see is the one (primary) menu.
Would this be handled by your plugin?
Regards, Shane
Hi Shane,
Unfortunately, this is not supported by my plugin. My plugin only hides admin menu on the left of the screen, not the menu locations under Appearance > Menus.
Best regards
Anh
Hi,
Is this compatible with php 7? When will you update this plugin with an option to hide appearance (customize) item that appears when browsing front-end in WP admin header menu?
Yes, the plugin works nicely with PHP 7. Actually as a developer, I recommend updating the PHP to version 7 as it has better performance
.
Regarding the Customizer item on the frontend, I’m working on it. Please wait for the next version.
Hi there,
Just having an issue. I am logged in as Admin with full access – I would like to create a second account that has similar but not all access. I need to duplicate the Admin access but remove a few things, I can’t seem to do this? I look on the Hide Admin Menu page and new user does not show up?
Hello,
Just a pre-sale question – Will this work with latest WordPress and Enfold theme? Will we be available to limit Enfold`s Avia layout builder for specific sections of the website?
Thanks!
Can I get an answer please?
Thanks!
Is this item still being supported? It’s been over a week without any answer. Can someone please comment is this plugin working with latest version of WordPress and Enfold? What about the admin slowness that VEMEME reported in comments above?
Sorry for late response. Yes, I can confirm that the plugin works with latest version of WP and Enfold theme.
HI. I need a plugin like this. Your plugin hide all itens for the visual composer plugin.? I tried other plugins but not hide the VC welcome page..
Just installed this, is it true that this plugin gives the admin panel a hard time? Loading takes really long with this enabled.
Hi,
A PRE-SALES question: Can any user with full admin privileges (ALL capabilities turned on) be hidden from other users with admin privileges (with comparatively lesser capabilities turned on) in the ‘Users’ area (list_users)?
I want to create a sort of hierarchy of administrator roles and users, where the user with the top admin role with ALL capabilities should be hidden (or at least undeletable, unremovable and uneditable) from other users with lesser admin roles and capabilities – in the ‘Users’ area. Can your plugin do this?
Thanx.
Yes, you can do that. But instead of messing up with “too many kinds of admins”, you should define a custom role for other admins using a plugin like Members. This role has all capabilities that an admin has. Then use this plugin to hide menus from them.
Hi. a presale question. Is it possible to hide menu item to some administrators only? It will be for an user who can create new subscribers and edit a calendar plugin, but i don´t want this admin user could edit theme settings or install plugins. Thanks!
Hi, you can use the plugin Members to create a new role (clone from admin), then assign this role to the people you want to hide menus. Then use the plugin to hide menus from them!
Dear all friends,
Please don’t use comment for support questions. I’ve set up a support ticket system where I can support you better. Please contact me in the Support tab if you need any help. I’m pleased to help you.
Thank you.
This plugin is great and is a 5 star. But on the dashboard for users there is a screen option menu on the right side at the top. If someone click this it gives the option for selecting activity and WordPress news to display on the screen below. I wonder if there is any way to remove the screen options tab on the dashboard. If I could do this I would have everything that says WordPRess removed. Please help if you can. Thanks.
Hello, Just bought the plugin. I notice that I can hide contact form 7 for Administrator but for any other users you dont have any tick boxed to hide it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Hi there, i accidentally locked myself out of wordpress. Can i simply rename the plugin via FTP and deactivate it, or is there another solution for that? This questions is urgent. Thanks for help!
PS: Userbility wise i would change that boxes need to be checked for access, not the other way around. (:
Any help here? If the plugin is reactivated, iam getting locked out again
Found it. Nevermind.
Hello there! There are two bugs regarding this plugin: 1. Although I hide the Edit pages in the Admin menu (when logged in the option was hidden), I could still edit the page by visiting the site. There is no point restricting access in dashboard, if one can have access through the site. 2. There aren’t any checkboxes for the Appearance Menu and for the Jetpack plugin in the Admin menu. This way my subscribers can mess with the widgets and the customization of the theme!!!!
I believe that although it is an easy plugin and does as it says, ending up not restricting access to my subscribers is very frustrating. Can you please provide with a fix for these bugs? Thank you in advance. Peri
Hello,
i want to let my customer try my demo blog, How to hide theme and plugins I m using ?
Is your plugin available with latest wordpress version ?
All the best,
Is there a way to hide ‘Hide Menu’ from sub-sites on the network? Also, can you add Super Admin to the role manager page?
Hello,
I purchased this product thinking that we can have control over admin menu as a super admin, but after installing i could see what ever we apply for admin it is applying for super admin as well
this is very bad. Or do you have solution for this where super admin can control the admin menu items and he can see all ????
Hello!
I’m one answer behind in order to buy this plug-in! (it’s somehow everything i need :D). Here’s the question:
In woocommerce, i want a user (shop manager) not to be able to see and access the (edit product) tab on the menu bar once he has viewed a product on the site.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B19dUKzu_ib2OHhHUzVRU3pZRUE/view?usp=sharingIs this possible? I’m hoping it’s a yes!
Thanks a lot!
Hi
Unfortunately, the plugin can’t do it at this time.
