for Feature Availability

The plugin is terrific when it works. A very unfortunate side effect of online validation of the license key through Grooni's website is that when the site (grooni.com) went down today, it took down the ability to edit my client's menu entirely! This is unacceptable. Please review! Hopefully this is a glitch in Grooni's site and not a sign that they are no more, and this has to now be ripped out of my client's site and replaced with something of equal capability. Not an easy task!

It's my fault. I didn't notice that the author only offers support for an additional fee before purchase. The menu was not displaying on the site in my staging environment, but was displaying in the plugin preview. It might be something simple, but I would have to spend another $45 to ask. That's not going to happen. I achieved a nice-looking menu and if you are a code person, it might work out for you. If you are not comfortable with figuring out how things work, do not buy this plugin.

no more updates.

Details: It was last updated 3 years 4 months ago and tested up to WordPress 5.9.999. It may have compatibility problems with the current version of WordPress or unknown security issues.

for Other

so disappointed, i purchased the item here, but i am still asked for the license. I cant use it.

for Bugs

Issues with the Groovy Menu plugin potentially affecting site performance and functionality. Both issues may be contributing to timeout errors during menu saving and when running scripts in FastCGI PHP. These require urgent attention and likely an update.

A. Undefined Property Warning in AdminWalker.php

Recurring PHP warnings are appearing in my logs:

PHP Warning: Undefined property: stdClass::$ID in /home/mydomain.com/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/groovy-menu/includes/modules/walkers/inc/AdminWalker.php on line 114
PHP Warning: Undefined property: stdClass::$ID in /home/mydomain.com/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/groovy-menu/includes/modules/walkers/inc/AdminWalker.php on line 115

These warnings occur when saving menus. The $menu_item object doesn’t have the ID property, which could be causing issues with the menu-saving process. The code in AdminWalker.php is:

$menu_item->is_megamenu = get_post_meta( $menu_item->ID, self::IS_MEGAMENU_META, true );
$menu_item->is_show_featured_image = get_post_meta( $menu_item->ID, self::IS_SHOW_FEATURED_IMAGE, true );

Please resolve this issue to prevent potential timeout and menu-saving errors.

B. Deprecated Dynamic Property Warning in Metadata.php

I’m seeing this PHP deprecation warning:

PHP Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property Puc_v4p11_Plugin_Info::$request_time_elapsed is deprecated in /home/mydomain.com/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/groovy-menu/vendouc/v4p11/Metadata.php on line 47

This deprecated behavior is not compatible with PHP 8.3 and may cause future compatibility issues with newer PHP versions.

Request:

Please investigate and resolve these issues:

a. Fix the undefined property warnings in AdminWalker.php.
b. Address the deprecated dynamic property in Metadata.php.

An update is required to fix & ensure continued compatibility with PHP 8.3 and beyond.

for Bugs

Especially when you work with woocommerce on checkout you have many problems. when you select from settings "Disable rendering Menu Blocks for Woocommerce payments pages
" then you don't have a menu on checkout. nice :D

I can't understand exactly what you mean since you didn't specify. And I assume that you have some kind of conflict between the plugin and the theme or third-party plugins. You may have an integration issue that is causing this behavior.

Groovymenu demo site uses WooCommerce https://groovymenu.grooni.com/shop/, as does our Crane theme https://crane.grooni.com/home-10/ too. As you can see, there are no bugs or conflicts.

for Customer Support

Customer support was great. My theme wouldn't let me get rid of the theme header to show the Groovy header, so I created a ticket with Groony. They responded promptly and helped me solve the issue. Regarding the product, the user interface was intuitive, particularly if you already have familiarity with WordPress menus. The video How-To resources helped me figure out anything else that was unfamiliar. Overall a great experience with the product, and the new menu looks and performs great. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Thank you for you review and high rate!

for Design Quality

I used to create the WordPress menu using the default Elementor plugin.
Although it offered a lot of customization, it always presented some display problems, especially on the mobile side.
Then I discovered Groovy Mega Menu and after a first try it became a "must have" plugin on every site I create.
Easy to set up and configure, it offers a wide range of customizations not to mention the possibility of acting with custom CSS directly from the plugin backend.
The menus created are light and fluid.

Thank you for your kind words! We, in turn, hope to continue pleasing you with new and improved releases soon

The plug-in is a big mess with lots of settings spread over several settings pages and even when you know exactly what you want, you will have to search quite a lot for the relevant settings.
The documentation is similarly unstructured and is missing quite some infos.
The features are great, but hard to configure, so i can't recommend the plug-in, unless you know it does something you can't achieve otherwise and have a few hours to spare fiddling around with it.
The worst part is that Grooni is not supporting it anymore, so you are left alone with that mess.

Author response

(1) The plugin does not yet have a **WYSYWYG** editing mode, only Preview mode. Therefore, all settings are sorted into sections, but you are absolutely right, we have something to improve here

(2) Information is structured into sections. Do you have any suggestions on how you would like to organize the information?

What information were you unable to find? Let us know by writing here https://grooni.ticksy.com or leaving a message in the comments. We will add this material.

(3) Thank you for rating the plugin's features, it would be great if this was reflected in a higher rating.

(4) Indeed, support is not included with the plugin. What is written on the product page.

What does it mean?

As of January 1, 2022, support is not included in the package, as well as assistance in customization and integration for all new licenses. Now these services are provided as EXTRAS

At the same time, we accept tickets about bugs; you can send them here https://grooni.ticksy.com to the “Find a bug?” section.

Extra support services

Integration

Customization

We also added:
- 18 Video lessons that you can find here
https://www.youtube.com/@megamenu

- Moneyback

- New articles in the manual and fact

- New menu presets
---

But in your case the case is different.
You bought the plugin in 2021 and your support has long expired. We can help you, write in the comments. Or issue a return

for Bugs

I just migrated and Grooni put a bug in their code to wipe out my entire custom menu. When I go to the dashboard, nothing is selected. When I search their docs for "migration" it says "no results found.
When I go back to the site I just migrated from, due to Grooni's license policy it says" Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.."
1 star for this bug alone.

Author response

There is something not right here. What you are describing is not normal behavior. Have you tried deleting the cache? Do you change the registered URL here https://license.grooni.com. ?

I don't see any support requests from you. Please create a ticket here https://grooni.ticksy.com

for Flexibility

I like to do unconventional things and every single plugin I've ever paid for has required a bit of tinkering to make it work the way I want it to - until now.

Today, I finished setting up everything on my menu precisely the way I want it to be - and tested some functions for future use - and I realized that FINALLY - I have found a plugin that allowed me to do everything I wanted it to do.

Great job, y'all!!

Author response
