Do you know of any conficts with the Generate Press premium theme. I had a problem using the awesome weather widget on my site http://thecatholictravelguide.com/ Their widget works great on desktop, but can’t change cities on mobile, and their designers can’t figure it out.

$18 is a good price…don’t mind paying at all, but just don’t want to end up in the same situation. Also, I am not a coder, so just need something simple for users…who are, naturally, on more mobile devices than desktops.

Hi,

I have not had any problems with searching cities on mobile yet.

You can send me a copy of the theme and I can quickly test it out to see if there are any problems. However, please note that I cannot guarantee everything will work with your site, as there may be customizations on your theme that affects the plugin.

If you do encounter any problems though, I would be happy to work close with you to sort the problem out.

Here is my purchase code. 4883f86a-746b-4a28-a715-9c06310acda9 I would like to know why, when I use the image background, the search icon does not show. It does show when I use the color background ( I switched back to color background for now).

Also, is it possible to make that search icon larger, and say “search” ?

One more thing, I changed it to say “click the search icon below for weather anywhere” but cannot get that change to take. Cleared my cache, not sure what else to do.

Works great on mobile, by the way, which was my main reason for buying it. I am just not much of a coder so hopefully you can answer my questions.

Forgot to give you my site: http://thecatholictravelguide.com/

Hi,

It’s possible that your image background is too colorful that’s why the Search icon does not stand out. You can set it to an image background and I’ll take a look and see how I can help you.

To make the search icon larger use the following css:
.astero .astero-search .astero-searchicon {
    font-size: 1.5em;
}

Where did you place the text “click the search icon below for weather anywhere” ?

Regards

I am still having problems getting the background image to show properly. I wanted the clear sky image but when I select it, it turns out very dark. Not at all like what I wanted. Here is what I mean http://thecatholictravelguide.com/ ...but don’t want to leave it up too long since it is hard to read.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Visiting your website, the weather seems to be using a transparent background and not images background.

Based on your description though, it’s possible that you see a dark image because the weather condition returned is “Clear Night”.

For the weather “Image Background” settings, custom images can be set for 7 weather conditions. You can upload another image for “Clear Night” if you want.

Hello, I am currently using your plugin on my HTTP website, which says it can pull the weather using the user’s IP address, but I’m getting NA for the weather. Please assist me with resolving this issue

It’s working for me!

Perhaps you need to clear cache?

Regards

https://prnt.sc/h1ntat I’ve cleared the cache but this is what I’m seeing for the min/max and if I maximize it, it still doesn’t display: https://prnt.sc/h1nu1u

Hi,

Sorry, you’re right, some parts of the weather is not loading.

You still have some errors on your page: e.g. Undefined index: galleryType in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\crystalmediacommunications.com\wwmr105.com\wp-content\plugins\fancybox-for-wordpress\fancybox.php on line 237

Undefined index: titlePosition in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\crystalmediacommunications.com\wwmr105.com\wp-content\plugins\fancybox-for-wordpress\fancybox.php on line 285

It’s possible that errors from other plugins could affect the script.

Could you try to deactivate all other plugins and see if there are still problems? If not, then it could be problems from other plugins.

Regards

Hi, I tried installing this three times and unfortunately, it didn’t work and I don’t intend on contacting my web developer for assistance. I keep getting “are you sure you want to do this?” with the option to retry. I’m not sure if the file size is too large or what, but as I said, I’m not going through my developer for help – if you can’t resolve it please let me know what steps I need to follow for a refund. Thanks.

Hi,

If it’s a problem with the file size too big and you have access to FTP for your server, you can simply unzip the file astero.zip, and upload the /astero folder directly to your plugin folder on your server under /wp-content/plugins

After that you should be able to see it under Dashboard > Plugins and you can activate the plugin there.

Let me know if you have any other problems.

Regards

The “X” to close out the full overlay weather, doesn’t appear when in Safari. Can you help?

    overflow: visible !important;
}

I purchased your plugin and I am very satisfied. I installed the plugin, configured forecast.io with a free account. Plugin has wordked without problem until a couple of days ago. Now the plugin does not display the geolocalized city. I didn’t modifed the site, or wordpress so I do not understant why, without modification, the plugin does not display the city. Could you help me?

Site is here: http://www.i50.eu/sempreviva/

THANK A LOT

Hi,

It’s likely not working because Forecast.io requires the Google Map API key, and your website is not listed as the allowed “referer” for your API key.

Here is more information on the error message: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error

You may want to add your website like this in the allowed “HTTP referrers” list for your API: www.i50.eu/*

Let me know if you have any other problems.

After new update wordpress VER 4.9 . Cannot read many locations. please check bug fix. My setting : Open Weather Map ⇒ Default Location ⇒ nagasaki Thanks.   Sample page Link : http://holidaygolf.co.kr/오션펠리스-리조트-골프/

Hi,

There doesn’t seem to be results from Openweathermap for the city Nagasaki: http://openweathermap.org/find?q=nagasaki

The weather is available for Forecast.io though, so you can consider switching to Forecast.io Please remember to enter a free Forecast.io API under Settings > Astero Weather.

Forecast.io requires Google Map too, but it’s already loaded on your site, so you will want to check “Skip Load Google Map” in the Astero settings to prevent loading it multiple times.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot …. AWESOME

Sorry. This time … After the avada theme update. Open Weather Map and Forecast.io (Supports Https) all have problems.

http://holidaygolf.co.kr/푸꾸옥-빈펄-리조트-골프/

It is used for 200 pages.

I need quick recovery.

Please help me.

Hi,

It’s not working because Forecast.io requires Google Map.

However there are 2 problems with the Google Map API on your website:
  1. You have loaded Google Map multiple times on your site. To prevent the Google Map from the weather plugin from loading, go to Dashboard > Settings > Astero Weather > Check “Skip Load Google Map”
  2. The Google Map API key provided on your site is wrong. For more details on the error code, please visit this page: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#invalid-key This API key may be entered on your theme options, or on other plugins that requires Google Map.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Thank you

Hello,

I purchased the above lic. for the Weather plugin that you offer. I downloaded the file and have tried to download it with no luck. New install of WP 4.9. any ideas.

This is the error I get:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

Plugin installation failed.

Return to Plugin Installer

thanks. Iamrbf@gmail.com

Hi,

This plugin offers both Widget and Shortcode options. You can display the weather through Shortcode on any posts or sliders that supports shortcodes. Multiple weathers are supported on the same page too.

After you have set up and saved a weather display under Dashboard > Astero, click on Dashboard > Astero and you will see a list of weather displays that you have created. Under the “Shortcode” column you will see the shortcode for your weather.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your fast reply! Yes I finally did see the short code and have linked it to a page and all works fine. I still have not gotten it to work correctly in a slider but I just purchased the Rev. 5 slider and later on I will give it a try. Again thanks for all your help. The Forecast.io works well but I did have to put the Lat. and Long in with 6 digits after the ‘Dot’ to get it to pull my small town of Berryville AR, U.S. Have not gotten the Open Weather to pull any info in yet?? Also the ‘search’ has not work anyway I have tried to config. it by town, state, Zip code, nothing pulls in other locations. Not to worried about that right now. And I will just leave it on the Forecast.io for now. Regards, ~ R

Hi,

Google Map is required for Forecast.io to work, so you need to enter a Google Map API under Settings > Astero Weather > Google Map API Key.

If you still experience any problems, kindly let me know.

Regards

Hey guys, this is what I get when installing the widget: Warning: POST Content-Length of 25046996 bytes exceeds the limit of 20971520 bytes in Unknown on line 0 Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again. – You guys have any idea why?

Hey guys, quick question: How does one register your plugin with a weather site?

Hi,

To register for a free API for Forecast.io, visit: https://developer.forecast.io/register

For Openweathermap, visit: http://openweathermap.org/register

You only need to select one weather service. After that, please remember to save the API under Settings > Astero Weather.

If you use Forecast.io, please also register for a Google Map API, and save it under Settings > Astero Weather. You’ll find the register link on the settings page.

If Google Map is already loaded on the same page (by your theme or other plugins) where you’ll display the weather, please check Settings > Astero Weather > Skip Load Google Map to prevent errors. There is no need to save a Google Map API in this case.

I recommend Forecast.io for more accurate weather information.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Awsome!

Hello, i’m getting errors using the Plugin with Open Weather Map.(Forecast is working)

GET http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?APPID=d371f1a273bd9629fe457d56f087efdc&q=Sinsheim&units=metric&lang=de&lat=&lon=&mode=json&unit_c=%C2%B0&unit_f=%C2%B0 401 (Unauthorized)

GET http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/forecast/daily?APPID=d371f1a273bd9629fe457d56f087efdc&q=Sinsheim&units=metric&lang=de&lat=&lon=&mode=json&unit_c=%C2%B0&unit_f=%C2%B0&cnt=7 401 (Unauthorized)

Running WP 4.9.1.

The API-Key is active.

Can you tell me how to fix this issue?

PS: I changed the language to german, but most of the words are still english. Also the time. Is there a way to display everythin in german?

My Purchase Code: 5044014f-86ad-4b7f-9a50-2c7f588960d3

Kind regards

Hi,

For some strange reason, the first link you provided works now, but the second link is still “Unauthorized”.

Perhaps you can try to generate a new API key and see if it works. Newly generated keys may need to take a while (a few hours perhaps) before it’s activated though.

If it still doesn’t work, you might want to try using Forecast.io Forecast.io requires Google Map API to work too.

If Google Map is already loaded on your web page that also displays the weather, then you should check “Skip Load Google Map” to prevent errors.

Apart from selecting “German” as the language, there are also some hard-coded string that needs to be translated by yourself from the .po and .mo files.

Please refer to the Translation section in the documentation for more details.

Hope this helps.

I notice the plug in is no longer working on mobile…has been working fine until two days ago. Works OK on desktop though

Sorry about my previous post…..I just needed to clear the cache on my mobile phone. All is well now.

Great!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi there,

Is there a way to assign a class to one of the weather instances, so that I can hide certain parts of it with .css?

Like I want to hide all of the text on it, except the temp and cloud icon, one just one Weather. For this page, so I can take off the Better Weather one and just use Astero.

http://bryceresort.com/mountain-and-weather-report/

Hi,

Yes, every weather instance uses a unique ID that’s the same as its post ID.

For the weather shown on your link, you can target it using #astero6387 in css.

For example, to hide all the text, you could try the following css:

#astero6387 .astero-details,
#astero6387 .astero-fc {
    display: none;
}

#astero6387 .astero-large .astero-icon {
    margin-bottom: 20px;
}

Hope this helps.
