I can see only few dates but not all. the Api-Key is correct.
The Layout “Simple Layout + Fullscreen Overlay” completly doesn’t work.

Hi,
Currently you have the weather layout set to “Full Forecast Layout”. You need to change it to “Simple Layout + Fullscreen Overlay” for that look.
Note that a regular API key only provides 5 days of weather forecast (Current day + next 4 days).
If you want 7 days forecast, you need to activate One Call API from Openweathermap (https://home.openweathermap.org/subscriptions/billing_info/onecall_30/base?key=base&service=onecall_30), then under your WordPress Dashboard go to Settings > Astero Weather > Check “Onecall 3.0 API Enabled”.

I had purchased and installed this Plugin on my website www.thenewsgateway.com. The weather Plugin is working fine, but there is one issue. The minimum and maximum temperatures always reflect the same value, like 15 degrees Celsius. It is never different, with a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 16 degrees Celsius. It is always the same. It is requested to provide a solution asap.

The weather data is cached for a while to reduce API calls to the weather provider, and if the minimum and maximum temperatures happen to be the same, then you might see it for a while.
It’s also possible that your page is cached, could be browser cache, plugin cache, backend cache or Cloudflare cache that’s causing the weather data to be the same. You may need to add an exception to your cache settings for the weather to update.

The minimum and maximum temperatures just display the weather data provided by the weather provider https://openweathermap.org/. You can check your location weather on their website to see if the temperatures are displayed correctly.
The weather information may be cached for an hour and not updated every time you reload the site.

There is no built in support for that. What values do you want to retrieve? Is it location (lat, long) or something else?
If you want to display a dynamic location, you could try the following shortcode.
[astero id='1234' lat='40.712776' lon='-74.005974']
Replace “1234” with an existing weather ID, and your custom latitude and longitude values.

Yes, you can use the shortcode I provided for custom latitude and longitude values, however to dynamically change the background image you’ll need some custom code.
You can try to dynamically update the css like so:
#astero123 .astero-background {
background-image: url(https://mywebsite.com/custom-image.jpg);
}
Replace ”#astero123” with your weather ID, and “https://mywebsite.com/custom-image.jpg” with the URL of your custom image.

Hi, After a long time I wanted to have your plugin on the site again and I can’t get the small view to work properly. I’m using elementor and Astero shortcode within 1/4 page container. What I am getting is background and weather data always in full width (part of it, whatever fits in 1/4 container), while the height is always full width. How can I fix the problem? There is an error for “Invalid API Key”.
If you’ve just applied for a new API key, please wait for one hour and clear browser cache and try again. (Sometimes it takes a few hours for the API Key to work in my experience).
If this is an old API key, please update the plugin and try again. Due to changes in Openweathermap’s policy, now you need to enable “Onecall 3.0 API” for 7 days forecast, otherwise only 5 days forecast will be displayed.
You need to enter credit card details for Onecall 3.0 API, but they offer 1000 free calls per day. You can set a limit in Openweathermap settings to avoid charges over 1000 calls.

Thank you for the Astero WordPress Weather Plugin. I have it installed, and it works as expect.
If you’re taking requests for it:
1. It would be nice if the Settings page appeared under the Astero Weather main menu item inside the WordPress dashboard. It took a little bit to figure out it was nested under WordPress’ Settings and I would suggest most plugins adhere to the suggested behavior.
2. I read that Astero caches Open Weather’s weather results. As a user it would be nice to have a setting to control long the cache can return the same result before querying Open Weather again, maybe set in number of minutes? I could see setting it for 30mins, but other folks might want something shorter or longer so I don’t want to speak for them.
3. It would be nice to have a custom CSS field, to add some CSS as needed. I can see that I need to tinker with the styling a little bit and adding it to the plugin itself would feel like a natural place for it.
4. Is there a way for the browser itself to automatically set whether the user prefers metric or imperial units? It would be awesome if Astero could auto-set units based on a signal from the browser itself.
5. When creating a new Astero Weather widget it would be nice if there were a third Layout option: Simple Layout (without the Fullscreen Overlay). This would be much appreciated as I don’t want/need the fullscreen overlay!
6. When selecting a background behind the widget it would be nice if there were a color option for transparent.
7. Long-term wishlist item: the ability to add custom weather icons and weather descriptions. I run a satire site and it would be a lot of fun to have the ability to add new, funny ways to describe the weather based on temperature range, humidity, and/or other factors.
8. Some text in the plugin isn’t displaying correctly:

Under Units when creating a new Astero Weather widget: “Metric units: °C | m/s

1-3, 5-7: I’ll try to add these features in the future. They’re all very valid requests.
4: This would be more difficult. Basically display imperial for US IP addresses and metric for the rest? User geolocation may not be very precise, so for now I think it would be better to let the site manager which system to show for their visitors.
#5: I’ll look into this option. For now you can use the following custom css code to hide the full screen button:

Please update to the latest plugin version and clear cache and see if it works.
You may need to upgrade to One Weather API (1000 free calls per month) for 7 days forecast, otherwise it’ll default to 5 days forecast.
If it still doesn’t work, please send a Dashboard login to support@archtheme.com so I can take a look. However if your support is expired I may only be able to provide limited support.
Note that the weather API can take up to 1 hour for it to activate.

To use your own images for the background, Edit your Astero Weather post, then go to Background Style > Image Background and you can upload 7 different images for different weather conditions.

The simplest way is to go to Dashboard > Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and upload the astero.zip file and then activate the plugin.
After the plugin is installed go to Dashboard > Settings > Astero Weather and follow the instructions there to sign up for a free Openweathermap API Key.
After that you can create different weather displays through Dashboard > Astero Weather > Add New Weather and insert the weather display through widget or shortcode on your site.

Please note that to use search, you also need to enter a valid Google Map API Key under Settings > Astero Weather > Google Map API Key.
You will need to enable the API Key and also enter billing details (there is a free quota and it is very unlikely you will be billed), so please make sure you follow the instructions here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key#key

I have set custom images for background styles but they do not change as the weather become sunny or cloudy or the sun goes down and comes up. Is it normal? As I know the plugin should change the background images as the weather changes.

There are up to 7 custom images for different weather conditions, did you upload a custom image for both sunny and cloudy?
Also make sure that you have cleared cache – backend cache, browser cache and Cloudflare cache (if you’re using it).
If you have already done the above steps and still not getting custom images, please provide your website so I can take a look.

This plugin is designed for a more vertical layout, so you may need to customize the plugin a bit if you want the information to be displayed horizontally.
Here’s a demo using IP Detection: http://demo.archtheme.com/astero/flat/
For Geolocation, there’ll be a browser prompt that requests the user’s location, and if allowed, it’ll use the HTML5 Geolocation. This requires the site to have HTTPS. If the prompt is ignored or blocked, then it’ll fallback to IP Detection.

Ok grazie. Problema risolto. Adesso però ho un altro problema. Quando faccio richiesta delle previsioni per qualsiasi città vengono fuori sempre le stesse. Non si aggiornano in base alla città che inserisco. Per avere il servizio di previsioni vanno bene le api di openweather gratuite oppure bisogna fare l’abbonamento a pagamento?

It seems part of the weather information is not loaded. This is probably due to problems in javascript.

Hi, I am thinking of purchasing a weather plugin. I am looking at various options. And before buying I want to know if it suits what I am looking for.
I want to put the plugin in the body of the page or article. I’m not worried about the sidebar.
1) I have a domain, and a subdomain of the same domain. Can I install the plugin on both sites?
2) Can the width and height be easily adjusted to the space I want it to occupy? Always on the body, not on the sidebar.
3) How does the APIkey work? OpenWeatherMap, each user who enters my website, is it a use? the use is every time you take the data up to date? Or how it works exactly. I don’t want to go over the free limit.
4) Does it work with plugins that use minify js?
5) The background image can be chosen? Or is it a fixed one? Like the video?
6) If round corners are put … It appears in all places with round corners.

Thank you for your inquiry.
1. I’m not sure about the details of the Regular License. Perhaps you can ask the customer support for Codecanyon.
2. The weather will automatically take up the width of the container. The height can be adjusted to a certain extent, but mostly the height will not be smaller than the height. If you are looking for a horizontal display, then you may need to customize the css.
3. You will need to apply for a free Openweathermap API key, and enter it once in the backend. The plugin will cache in the browser for 1 hour, so repeated visits from the same user within the hour should only trigger the API call once. The free API key provides 1000 free calls per day. If you have more than 1000 unique visits to the site per day you may need to pay for the extra call. I have an alternate version that provides 60 free calls per minute but only has 4 days forecast.
4. Yes it should work fine.
5. You can upload custom background images for 7 weather conditions, or use 1 custom video background.
6. You can create unlimited weather displays. It can have rounded corners for some weather displays, and sharp corners for others if you want.
