Hi Firsh,
The new PhotoSwipe looks promising! Hopefully no more issues with Android devices. An idea when you might be updating this? Thanks again for absolutely the best image gallery!
As soon as I can! I love it already
I’d say this month’s update, in 2 weeks.
WooHoo! Thanks!!!
Stay tuned!
I got green light on integrating the new PS, and it’s already going beautifully well after one day of working with it. So the update is coming soon
YES!!! You are the MAN!!!!
I’m also adding “smart deeplinking” I created for prettyPhoto, you’ll be able to share on mobile and have the share counters increased in prettyPhoto on desktop. Open the images the same way on any device from the social networks because the deeplink URLs will be the same format. If you have the standard prettyPhoto-PhotoSwipe dual setup, out of the box.
That’s very interesting, also that you were able to show more than 25 items in the feed itself. Contact me from my profile for further conversation, I need to check why this happens.
Hello. Has there been any progress in developing a non-WP HTML version of JIG? I know it has been mentioned a few times over the past couple of years & I have a client that would love to integrate it into a non-WP site.
Nope, not yet sorry.
Hi,
The plugin is working with some pages in facebook, but when I try to load some pages I have this message:
Message log: [11:38:34 PM] No pictures in any album.
How can solve this? The page in question have Albuns and photos, and its the client page that is not working… :-/
Thanks in advance Carlos
Try JIG settings, General tab, scroll down then SSL Verify peer: no.
hi,
Thank you for your reply, but its not working yet. The website in questions is this one:
http://www.plansel.com/adega/galeria/I am loading some albuns from this page:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/PixelReply/60240028963And I try to load this one:
https://www.facebook.com/planselBut I keep getting the same message….
Message log: [11:38:34 PM] No pictures in any album.
Thank you in advance
The plansel page is not public. Meaning you don’t see it if you are not logged into Facebook. Can you remove demographic restriction from plansel page? They must have changed something because you could auth through a logged in user.Otherwise contact me from my profile I can send you a latest beta that handles this.
I’m having a problem connecting to Instagram. Every time I try to authenticate, I get the error: “The state does not match. You may be a victim of CSRF.”
I checked with my host and they said that sessions are enabled in my PHP environment.
Any ideas?
Please contact me from my profile so I can look into it.
Hello. Thank you for this lovely plugin. I’ve inputted my app data but when I try adding in my facebook URL (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cariled/441740452618178) it says no pictures in any album. I also tried putting in the albums URL, photos URL to no avail. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong.
Figured it out. Sorry.
What was it? SSL verify peer?
Hello!
These are my stats:When i add a album via JID, it is perfectly displayed, but when I set the option to “No: open them on their own page.”, i get a “404” when clicking on a gallery. Option “Yes: Open them in the lightbox.” works fine. But I need the gallerys to open on a new page, because I need a thumbnail-overview… What can I do to fix the problem? Best regards, Andi
Have you tried going to WP settings -> Permalinks and hitting the save button? Sometimes it’s necessary to flush permalinks.
Thank you very very much, updating the permalinks solved the problem!
Great!
from what i’ve read, will it be possible to replicate this website? similar to this site. http://beam.zackarias.com/#!/index
A masonry filtered gallery.
Sorry no.
Is this just not possible in a wordpress environment? I have asked this same question to so many other theme developers. How much custom work would this be if I was to hire someone?
You can see this almost everywhere now, especially in themes. It’s widely available through the use of the isotope JS plugin. I decided to use a proprietary solution that uses rows instead of columns, and filters instantly withour rearrange animations. This may change in the future but currently my engine supportss this way only.
Hi,
I am using the Ajax load for JIG and only using Magnific Popup.
Is there anyway I can disable the loading of the javascript for prettyphoto, colorbox, photoswipe etc?
My theme is unfortunately loading enough javascipts already…
Hope you it helps a little
thanx in advance
roger
Contact me from my profile and I’ll disable them for you. I plan on adding a setting where you can disable modules you don’t use including lightboxes. That’d also affect what gets loaded for AJAX sites (instead of loading everything available).
Think I fixed it! by removing what I don’t need.
// Load every JS JIG has to offer, mainly for AJAX as there is no way to know beforehand what scripts a gallery will require.
if($this->settings['jquery'] 'legacy'){
wp_register_script('jig-jq', plugins_url('js/jquery-1.8.3.min.js', FILE), array(), '1.8.3', true);
wp_enqueue_script('jig-jq');
}
if($this->settings['load_bundled_lightbox'] 'yes'){
wp_deregister_script('magnific-popup');
wp_register_script('magnific-popup', plugins_url('js/jquery.magnific-popup.min.js', FILE), 'jquery', '0.9.9', true);
wp_enqueue_script('magnific-popup');
wp_register_style('magnific-popup-style', plugins_url('css/magnific-popup.css', FILE), false, '0.9.9');
wp_enqueue_style('magnific-popup-style');
}
Great yes you’ve found it.
I just installed the plugin and when I go to a page to add a gallery using the purple icon it pops an inline window that says: Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
How do I resolve this?
Contact me from my profile and I can look into it.
HI, we use Image Grid as Facebook Galley Plugin for our website. Now i would ask if its possible to show the immage of the galley when we share the link from our website on fb and not the “stardard” immage?
example: if i share this link it dont show me the immage from the galley but the immage were we insert the shortcode. http://tilllate.it/foto/abruzzo/gallery/1563415973888861/Individual sharing is possible with prettyPhoto lightbox with “smart deeplinking” enabled.
What is “increase the gallery tagged on Facebook”? The likes are not counted toward the objects on Facebook but counted from 0 on your site as you display them with any like solutions.
I can’t say much about how Social Gallery should work, but I modified prettyPhoto and it’s part of the plugin so I can help you with that.
The normal share (without deeplinking) just shares the stem of the gallery page that’s correct since the dynamically created pages don’t exist in WP they are just created on the fly. If you press like/share with “smart deeplinking” on and using prettyPhoto it should share the image itself, with the shared content linking back to the expected page and the image reopening. If that doesn’t happen please contact me from my profile and I can take a look at it.
Oh I see SG allows you to tag images. I don’t believe those tags are submitted to Facebook, so they would only be visible on your site. But as I said I can’t do much with how that plugin does the actual sharing
The problem actualy is not tagging. I make all like your guide and try all solutions but the sharring on fb dont work. How can i solve this? Can we talk on skype about?
Contact me from my profile and I’ll debug your open graph parameters. I’m only available on skype as paid premium support, but I don’t believe this requires that, usually it’s something simple. If you send me wp-admin I can check out the possibilities for your site/theme.
Hi Firsh,
When I allow the Downloads on JIG, it loads the full size image instead of downloading the image itself. Any idea how to fix this? Using FooBox if this helps.
Thanks
Can you send me a link where this happens? Do you mean the full image just opens by the browser instead of through the download dialog?
Hi Firsh, Yes, the full images just opens by the browser instead of through the download dialog.
Thanks
Hi Firsh, Have been thinking of dropping NGG due to it’s clunkiness and greatly slows down my server due to the amount of images on it now.
I was wondering if you would recommend using the default Wordpress Gallery that is already inbuilt and tie it with JIG + FooBox?
The amount of images I have are in the 100,000 and was wondering if you have any solutions for gallery management.
Thanks
Hi Firsh, Sorry for the Comments, Just wanted to ask as well. How do I use NGG Pagination instead of using the Load More Function while using JIG Plugin to create the gallery?
Reason for asking as in previous comments before, we were talking about the 1234 Ajax Pagination and since there is no ETA, I will use the NGG with the AJAX Next Page Plugin that is on Codecanyon.
This is also so that I can deliver 1000’s of photos and limit images per page and thus creating some sort of sorting/number system for users.
Thanks
Hi I realized you may be using the download button in FooBox which just displays the big image. JIG has a separate download image feature that opens the browser download dialog, and it appears as a text link in the lightbox caption.
Dropping NGG is fine while using WP media library. Make sure you use Media Library Assistant plugin. Mind you that it’s only possible to tag/categorize images but not put them into albums or galleries.
You can’t use pagination with JIG at the moment. Not sure how can you connect ajax pagination to JIG, but you could connect it to native NGG. I’m not sure about the best solution for 100K images sorry :/
Hi Firsh,
I am definitely using the JIG Download feature as I have disabled FooBox Download Feature which only loads the image in the browser. When I click on the Download text ad the bottom, it loads the same as what FooBox does. I have tried other Lightboxes but cannot seem to get the download dialogue to come up to save the image.
After some testing and uploading, a lot of the images have keywords and tags in-bedded into the meta data as we batch edit this through LightRoom. WP does not retain the tags so we will have to stick to NGG but have come up with a way to serve the images.
How could I connect it to the Native NGG Pagination? The idea is to use: Theia Post Slider and the NGG Pagination together which would serve a limited amount of images per page and using that plugin mentioned will stop the page from refreshing but will load using AJAX. That is my theory anyways.
How do I activate the search function with JIG? As I thought I saw a feature that images are searchable?
JIG is definitely a really good plugin and hence the reason why I want to keep using it.
Ah perfect that you use Lightroom. Media Library Assistant can import IPTC metadata and keywords and map it to any custom or builtin taxonomy, so you are not limited by NextGEN to do this.
I’m not sure how you could do that but JIG does not act upon NextGEN but merely uses its database tables to build its own layout. Page and URL structures are mimiced but it’s not the same, e.g. paginations is not retained.
There is a setting called nextgen search (in JIG shortcode editor, nextgen tab) which takes a search query or comma separated multiple queries. If you wish to add it to the search on your site, you’d need to use a template tag and pass the search query to it in search.php file in your theme. This is only available for nextgen.
Hi Firsh, so after a ton of work on the website, the team have restructured the pages to a One Page per Event style.
Meaning that if there are multiple Days for an event, EG a 3 Day Music event. Those 3 days are combined into one massive gallery BUT with tags for filtering and sorting.
This would produce a gallery of up to 1500 images but each day will have only ~500 images when filtered down.
I have read about your other posts regarding about having the galleries separated etc and have talked this through, but in our case, it was just not viable with the coding, design, flow and also filing structure due to Lightroom Processes.
The problem I have been having is when we get JIG to have the filters on. It does load UP TO 1000 images and only the first and second filter show EG: 1st Day – 2nd Day but no 3rd Day.
Is there a way for us to Manually increase the 1000 NGG limit, any solutions to Old School Paginations, also a solution for JIG to recognize all Tags within the galleries and allow it to downscale the amount of photos using the filtering.
This is the reason why we are using filtering now is because once filtered, it only shows a small portion of the images so technically they we made it to act like separate galleries just called using filtering.
Thanks
Why not still separate that content to 3 pages, using back-end filtering. Using the same taxonomy you filter your days 1 2 3 by, just apply it on the back end – it does not require coding or lightroom workflow changes.
However you can certainly unplug the limit, so you can display thousands, it’s just not viable especially for mobile devices. They’ll run out of memory eventually. Even if you use filtering, the total amount of pics is still a bit too much. You could turn off “All” button so there is only 3 choices for the 3 days, and even though there are 1500 pics in total, only 500 get shown at once.
It probably doesn’t recognize all tags because those tags are only in pictures that are above the 1000 limit no?
There is no oldschool pagination at least not yet.
You can change the 1000 limit to anything around line 9258 of justified-image-grid.php
Follow these as a precaution: http://codecanyon.net/item/justified-image-grid-premium-wordpress-gallery/2594251/faqs/20240
Hi Firsh,
Thank you for your help and support over the past few months, it has been hard for us since the merge and large amount of images we now have per event due to having more photographers on per large/music event.
The idea behind it was to have only one Page per event, but have either Tabs that represent each day/photographer/section or have tags, we decided to go with tags, as for the Lightroom, it needed to be all in one sequenced structure due to lightrooms function where it renames all images via date and time code and applies a AlphaNumeric Code at the start and by splitting these up in separate galleries online would somewhat break our filing structure as everything is uploaded automatically.
We have increased the limit to 9999 images and will definitely be looking at solutions, at this stage, the search function from NGG + WP Search + JIG Tags and Foobox Preloading seem to work fine and have heavily cached the images and galleries.
Hopefully we will get to see what you have in store for the newer updates as would love to have those new features on board.
Thank You have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Scholarty Team
After the preview site (marketing) is refreshed, I’ll focus more on performance so having many images per gallery will less likely be a problem. Merry Christmas to you too!
Check out JIG’s NG search feature as well. If you need the PHP code to include that in WP search, let me know. Or are you already doing that?
Hello
Is this addon adaptable on this theme http://goo.gl/F1thH1
Yes, I don’t see why not!
i installed a plugin about image tags but i couldnt filter my images with JIG. can you help me how can i filter my wp images. i dont use nextgen.
If you look at the “filter by” setting is the tag or category there that the 3rd party plugin created? It might be called differently than the built in WP taxonomies so JIG wouldn’t pick it up just by having filterby set to automatic/on.
Greetings,
I need to unbind my license from a previous install, I moved to WPEngine and created a site from scratch, and it says I need to get my license unbound to allow for updates on the actual dev build.
Thank You!
License unbound!
Hi,
did you receive my private message?
thanks
4 days ago yes and I replied this:
Well only if the source site has RSS feed and it’s only for its posts. So you create multiple individual posts with featured images, and you can pull these thumbnails into a gallery on the new site.
I’m ready to purchase, but I have a question. I have a gallery on http://jonnycarter.com/shirt-fabric. I would like to have a menu on the left that I can organize by tags and even multiple tags. For example, a menu item that says “blue” and then all the “blue” tagged images would show. Is this possible with your plugin?
You’d need to create a page and create a JIG that pulls photos tagged with blue. Then add this page to the menu.
Otherwise you can just use filtering. http://justifiedgrid.com/filtering/
Hello, Firsh.
We talked about it before, but after several tests, I now have a new question.
In “What to do when you click on a thumbnail”, I use “prettyPhoto”. When I click the button to share on Facebook, appears only the title and text, but not the photo. Only the third time I repeat the process, the image appears. But … If I share in the first attempt (even without the picture) on the Facebook page the image appears correctly. Other users on other computers and other cities reported the same behavior. That is, the result is correct, but the lack of image early in the process can cause uncertainty in visitors who want to share images.
I’ve thought about putting a warning: “Triple-click to share the photo,” but I think inappropriate.
My question is: there is not even any way to fix this problem?
http://brincandonojardim.com.brThanks.
For me it works fine (EU). It’s likely a connection problem between your server and Facebook :/
JIG can only go as far as setting the proper picture to the og meta tag.
You can see at this debug URL that it works fine and the tag is set correctly:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Fbrincandonojardim.com.br%2Fgalleries%2Fbrincando-no-jardim-fotos-da-estreia%2F%23!prettyPhoto[1]%2FML%2F889These are the raw tags that we found Meta Tag <meta property=”og:image” content=”http://brincandonojardim.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/estreia_brincando_circenicos_foto_thiago_sabino_032.jpg” />
Hey there. Great Plugin. Starting to get the hang of it. Is it possible that ‘desaturate’ is not compatible with the Avada Theme? I have tried every different idea I can think of, and can’t seem to get it to desaturate. All the Presets that use ‘desaturate’ show up in color, just a little faded. Also, will there ever be an option to change the Font of the Caption? Or will that always be a product of the theme. Thanx! My site is http://www.kittaylor.net.
Murphy’s law, of course as soon as I post this I start getting a ‘pageok’ error.
My entire demo site is running on Avada theme so it is compatible with desaturate effect.
I don’t know what this pageok is but it only happens if I click your link that includes a period at the end.
What’s not compatible with special effects is the “jetpack photon” CDN, since in that case images are served by a different domain which is undesired for special effects due to cross domain security policies.
Hmm ok interesting. Thanx man. The ‘pageok’ thing was just a temporary GoDaddy issue. Still not getting the De-Saturate to work. When you get a chance can you give me the full Shortcode you are using to get the De-Saturate? Peace!
Ok got it working. This may be something you want to know. I had to De-Activate the entire Jetpack Plugin, not just Photon. Don’t know if that’s something specific to the way I have things setup or what, but Photon was definitely NOT turned on, Jetpack was Active, and De-Saturate wasn’t working. I De-Activated Jetpack, and the effect began working correctly. Conflicts! Frustrating. Good stuff man. I admire all your work, very inspiring. Peace! I write Jingles and Tunes for a living. If you ever need anything, no charge, just to get my name out there, let me know.
I’ll recheck why was photon URL still in use even though you had it disabled in jetpack, may be a bug, thanks! The tech reason why desaturate didn’t work was pointed out in my comment above.
What was your role in awolnation sail? I might need voiceovers, is there any sample I could listen to?
Ok gotcha, I’m over my head with some of the technical stuff lol. No specific role in any AWOLNation tunes, I just toured with them opening in several cities. Got to know a few of the guys. Check out https://www.voices.com/people/audiblechocolate#demos for Voiceover Demos. Send me an email at kit@kittaylor.net if you want to do anything together. I play Piano like a Mother too! That’s most of my living.
Nice! I’ll let you know.
Hi there,
I’d have a pre-purchase questions:
We would like the galleries to show as a teaser in the blog category. So let us assume I’d have a gallery with 20 images – is there a way to just show e.g. 5 images as an excerpt in the blog category—> similar as wordpress allows this for normal post excerpts or using the “read more” function)? And then link into the actual post with the full gallery (which then shows the 20 images)?
Thanks a lot, Peter
Yes there is a built in setting just for this. 2 settings:
Blog view limit
Limits number of images when the post is displayed among others (blog view, archives, author posts, category listing etc.) and shows a message to view the rest of the gallery (links to the full post like Read more). The gallery only shows up in these views if your theme processes shortcodes, shows the full posts and not just excerpts.
Blog view limit message
The text for the link below the gallery that is truncated by the “Blog view limit”. It should indicate that there are more images.
"View the rest of the gallery"
Hi Firsh,
thanks a lot for the answer! Is that what we are seeing here in your demo?: http://justifiedgrid.com/flickr/
—> You can see e.g. in the first sample “Example 1 – Photostream” there are just 2 images, but when I click on them, I see more images in the lightbox.
Or is that something else?
Thanks a lot, Peter
No, this feature is not visible on the preview site. It just limits the number of photos and displays a customizable message whenever you are not on the posts’s own permalink address, but in blog views such as home page or category.
The Flickr thing is standard behavior when you show more photos but limit the amount of thumbnails by using “hidden limit” setting, or “max row” or even with “load more”.
My ISP (HeartInternet.co.uk`) has just taken out site down stating that this plugin is causing a security hole, not had a problem with this plugin before, please advise:
Thanks for responding to this. The site was found to be compromised which is something we can not allow on our shared servers. The site was found to contain CryptoPHP back door scripts which can be exploited. http://blog.fox-it.com/2014/11/18/cryptophp-analysis-of-a-hidden-threat-inside-popular-content-management-systems/It looks like the exploit may come from the justified-image-grid plugin you are using. Is this something that is required by your site?
Have you had a pirated version of the plugin installed before you bought it? They are known to contain viruses. The codecanyon version is always clean of course. If you send me FTP and still have the files I can check for their checksuma againts the official version.
Not that i am aware off, i think i chose your plugin on recommendations, i am presently doing a full back and deletion to make sure non of this stuff is dodgy, i will admit that on occasions i have downloaded the odd plugin to best get a look for something but these are always installed to a local trial platform under MAMP, then if required are purchased by the owner of the site i am working on, not ideal i know but you cannot really test something or get a feel for it otherwise from a few screen shots. As for your plugin, i cannot remember if i ever did get a dodgy version prior to purchasing, i think i purchased your software on a recommendation from a collegue. i will forward the ftp details once the site has been re-upped, i am afraid HeartInternet are being bloody useless with regards to support and help
Hi Firsh, Not impressed with HeartInternet, after taking them 8 hours to finally come back with the answers to my questions, they finally told me it was NOT your plugin that was infected with CryptoPHP script (Which I did not really think that it was) but another plugin that I had recently updated which was downloaded from Wordpress.org Please except my apologies.
Uhh ok. Thanks anyway. Let me know if you need anything else though.
