<WP page permalink>/facebook-album/<photo ID number>
(which doesn’t exist) rather than the URL of the image on the Facebook CDN.
Twitter and Flickr links to the correct URL and loads up the image in a lightbox but Facebook is incorrect.
The shortcode I’m using:[justified_image_grid facebook_id=<facebook ID> facebook_album=overview facebook_caching=240 row_height=120px limit=6 max_rows=1 aspect_ratio=1 disable_cropping=yes]
I’ve also tried a variety of different Facebook based shortcodes which always result with the same issue.
Many thanks
Gregor
Nope, that’s the expected behavior. The overview opens a dynamically generated page with the contents of your clicked album. Then only on that page, when you click a thumbnail will it open in the lightbox. http://justifiedgrid.com/facebook-overview/
I believe you are looking for the “open albums in lightbox” setting, which is only suitable if you have around 200 photos across all albums, otherwise Facebook will deny the request.
Hey,
love this nice plugin. I am trying to get the facebook connection to work. However I have ran in to a little problem. I created a app and it connected fine.
In the setup for facebook in the plugin I can add pages & profiles – does the plugin not support groups?
I am trying to add from a group and all I get is this:
Message log: [08.23.53] Enter the page!
//theis
You are correct groups are not supported, it’s not possible to get their pictures properly with Facebook API. Sorry if this what you needed but it’s not indicated anywhere that groups would be supported. You can get a refund from Envato support.
No need for a refund I will use the plugin for other things
Not your fault that facebook does not have sense to do things right.
It most often has, though
Groups don’t work the same way as pages and profiles. Even the “feed” option for pages and profiles is hard to work with, but I’m improving that for the next version.
Sounds cool and thx for a great plugin.
No problem.
Hello,
thanks for your reply to my previous comment: Hello, Was just wondering if you can open iframes within the lightbox with this plugin?
Your reply: Yes of course. JIG Link field in the media library should hold the link of the page, JIG Target should be lightbox. PrettyPhoto and Magnific popup and FooBox can do this.
I seem to be getting an error when I click on an image within the gallery: http://i.imgur.com/MlfHQLj.jpgI am able to see the images in gallery but get this error when I try and load the light box with the iframe. Is there some thing I am missing?
.
This happens when you are using prettyPhoto AND your link does not have ?iframe=true at the end (just add it to your Custom link). Unless you do that prettyPhoto thinks that you are trying to display an image in the lightbox.
brilliant! thank you, that worked.
No problem
Hi. JIG 2.3.1 is crashing my site (www.coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast). I have 2.3 on another site and it is functioning (www.coastalanglermag.com/bahamas).
Both are using the same WP Theme and plugins.
Is it possible for me to go back to 2.3 on the site (www.coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast) that keeps crashing? If so, where can I download the OLD 2.3 file?
I found the older file and installed 2.3, but it is still crashing the site. Any suggestions? Any way for me to wipe out the purchase code to ensure I’m using the right purchase code? I’ve deactivated the JIG on www.coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast to keep the site up. When I do activate JIG, the main URL is not accessible.
How and what is crashing? http://codecanyon.net/item/justified-image-grid-premium-wordpress-gallery/2594251/faqs/19373
I can send you any older version if needed.
I reset your license binds.
Firsh, when I have JIG activated on coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast, the homepage will not load. It redirects to my corporate office site with an Error 404 message. JIG is used in a widget on the front page, and on another page —http://coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast/treasure-coast-brag-board -- which is functioning okay. I have reactivated the plugin in case you can try to view what is happening. JIG is installed on a second site (coastalanglermag.com/bahamas), and on that site everything is okay.
Correct address is coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast/treasure-coast-brag-board
I see it’s set up as recent posts. Isn’t this a correct URL to a post? http://coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast/fishingphoto/shrimp-boat-yellowfin/ It’s just trying to link to pots. Have you tried flushing the permalinks (changing that setting and putting it back)?
Firsh, even with resetting license binds, still not getting the plugin to work successfully on the Treasure Coast site’s homepage. Also, when selecting the photos on the Brag Board (coastalanglermag.com/treasure-coast/treasure-coast-brag-board) receiving an error message—missing files. Any suggestions? Checking to see if there might be another plugin causing the problem, but stumped why it works on another site that is almost a replication.
Flushing the permalinks worked for the missing photos on the Brag Board. Thank you! Now I just need to figure out why JIG isn’t working on the home page.
Do you know of any plugins that JIG has has a conflict with in the past?
The “selecting the photos on the Brag Board” seems to work fine for me now.
There could be another plugin or the theme prohibiting rewriting the home, as some solutions don’t like the homepage changed in any way. I don’t know of any specific example, but check what you are doing different on the other site that works.
Licensing has nothing to do with how the plugin works, only autoupdates.
Hello!! Great Plugin!
One Question. Is it possible, to caption the “All Overview Galleries”, but when you click into the galleries the images doesn’t have a caption? I don’t get how to do this :/
Galleries = Caption below the images
Single Image = no captions
Thanks!!
No sorry not yet, they both use the same shortcode with the same settings at the moment. You could try some Custom CSS or tweak “what to show as captions” until you find a state that works best, but all those are workarounds currently.
Thank you for your quick answer! Ok, than i will tweak it with custom CSS. And looking forward for an update!
Thanks!!
I do plan on adding an option for this, in form of a new preset setting (next to “preset” and “mobile preset” in the shortcode editor), that allows you to set anything differently for gallery vs single thumbnails view.
Hi Firsh!
Net plugin!
I am not sure what is happening to my gallery though http://sawebrent2.com/oubaaihotel/golf/ (staging site)
The JIG does its job but then the images get repeated with
Please advise? Using version 2.3.1 and WP V3.9.3
It’s happening because a lazy load solution takes the images off the grid and displays them on its own. Not sure if that’s integrated into your theme and you could disable it or by a 3rd party plugin.
You can fix it by this Custom CSS (a JIG setting):
.justified-image-grid > li { display: none; }
.justified-image-grid > p { display: none; }
But it would be better if the lazy load solution was disabled instead.
Thanks Firsh! That fixed it! Great plugin thanx!
No problem!
Contact me from my profile, that’s an unusual error. Are you sure you added the correct user to JIG and selected the photoset in the shortcode editor, but it’s still not showing on the frontend?
Thanks, I will email you with attachments. Do you have skype?
I do but only as part of paid premium support.
I have noticed a small error in the plugin that I am sure is down to something that I have missed or miss-configured…
All of the images show up correctly except the last ones, it looks like it makes the rows OK, but if I have 1 or more images on the last row that don’t make up a complete line then these are not displayed
I have tried all of the settings available like Flexible, Match, etc, but the last images are not displayed.
It’s the max rows setting or the “incomplete last row” setting. Remove max rows limit and/or set incomplete last row to the first value. Are you using load more?
Max Rows has nothing in it and the Incomplete Last Row is now set to Normal and I still cannot see the last image unless I open the second to last in the Lightbox and then select the next image… you can see what I mean here:
http://www.douglasauctionhouse.co.uk/douglas-auction-house-online-catalogue/#!prettyPhotothere should be 375 images and the last one is 374…
IncompleteLastRow is set to flexible-match. Check your shortcode and preset settings again.
Knew it had to be something silly, sorted it out now, Thanks as ever for the great support!
No problem
Hello,
After downloading an image (displayed in the lightbox of the plugin) the jpg image cannot be opened, it says the jpeg files is corrupted/broken…
Any idea where it come from ?
Cheers,
The server might not send the image for download, contact me from my profile and I can check it out for you.
Hi,
awesome plugin, obviously.
I’m trying to have created galleries to be centered, especially since most of my galleries don’t have enough images to take their full container width.
I saw you already brought answers to this, but I don’t want to lose the responsive feature.
Is there any way to do this ?
Thanks
Thanks. Use the “incomplete last row” setting and set it to “center”. It’s on the general tab. It’s responsive
Thanks or such a fast reply.
Actually I used this just after I left my last message and it works just great, for galleries with more than 1 row.
But those with only row (let’s say with only 3 images) remain aligned left.
Is there a workaround to this ?
Thanks
It should still be aligned center. Is the gallery alone on that page? Is the gallery the only thing that is giving width to that content area? Can you send me a link? Incomplete last row is also the first and only row, not just the last after many.
nevermind, it was 100% my fault : I did not see the result on a gallery that had the wrong preset id.
It works absolutely fine now.
Thanks again
Great!
Is JIG still relying on TimThumbs if Photon is not activated on a site? Since TimThumb is no longer maintained – do you have plans for the future?
I’ll maintain a slimmed down version of it. For now there is no good alternative that suits my needs of on demand resizing of often external images. Most if not all resizers only work with images that can be found on the server already and prepare the pictures.
Of course I purchased your plugin.
With which account? Please contact me from my profile and send me your purchase key.
Your gallery path is incorrect in NextGEN.
I just sent you a message with my purchase key.
Unfortunately I have no idea where to change this. I just browsed through the JIG & NextGen settings and tried some settings with no effect. Please give me further advice.
Ok it’s in there when you edit any gallery. You’ll see a setting called “Gallery path:” which may be incorrect as an older NextGEN version set it up badly. If it includes D:\ or similar then it’s not going to work like that (local/windows servers). It should be relative like \wp-content\gallery\life\animals
This hint solved my problem! thx.
Any ideas wich settings are used by nextgen to concat this bad URL?
It’s not a particular setting but it seemed to me this happened with one of the NextGEN versions when you created galleries during that version. It shouldn’t happen if you create a new gallery with a new version.
You are right again.
Indeed this problem doesn’t arise any longer. Obviously this was a bug in nextgen v 2.0.40.
Going to rate five stars for great support and your must have plugin. thx!
Great, thank you!
Next & Previous buttons disappeared…im using PrettyPhoto. can you please help me out? Also, I rather not post the link to my demo site here…can I email you?
You can contact me from my profile for more info. The “link rel” setting controls whether or not the images in prettyPhoto are grouped (with arrows showing) or not.
Hi, Firsh.
I have a conflict: while the JIG is active, I can not enter social network icons with the “CI Socials Ignited”. I can not turn off the JIG because the site is already online with some albums. It’s probably a JS conflict, but I’m not training to locate it. Can you help me? Thank you.
http://brincandonojardim.com.brFirsh, One possibility: disable the plugin JIG for a few minutes to use the “CI Socials Ignited”. My question is: I would lose the settings of JIG galleries already published?
You can disable even delete JIG, the settings will be kept.
What is “CI Socials Ignited” and what should it do?
It appears that JIG galleries work fine on your site.
The JIG is ok, Firsh. The problem is with the widget: he that is without function when activated JIG.
“CI Socials Ignited” is the widget that I use to administer the yellow buttons of social networks, right of the navigation menu. This widget does not work with activated JIG.
My fear is off the JIG and when turning it on again, lose the galleries that have published…
Thanks
You can turn JIG off anytime, you won’t lose your galleries. I can click the 3 social buttons on yellow just fine. Do you mean their management page is not working?
Yes. These three buttons are ok. I can not add other buttons.
I’ll turn off the JIG …
So you turn off JIG, add more buttons, then reenable JIG and all is good?
It worked, Firsh. Thanks!
No problem.
Hey there Firsh,
grat plugin, I just discovered on your website that is possible to show images attached to another page and it’s working great for me, I still have one question though,
is it possible to do this as well on a wordpress network site that is running Multi-Site??
I mean using images that are attached to a page on example.com/source to show on a page on example.com so basically taking them from another wordpress installation under the same wordpress multisite.
I tried and it doesn’t work, I wanted to know if there were some workarounds.
hope this is clear
Let me know, thanks
M
I don’t think so, not out of the box. That feature works by providing the ID. This ID is as internal identifier of all posts on your installation. If you wish I can take a look at it for you on your multisite, but can’t promise anything.
Hey thx for the quick answer, I was trying to workaround this by using Facebook albums but I don’t seem to be able to connect the plugin to Facebook, I follow the instruction and then I get the
No albums or SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK: check this out for more information or go to the General tab, Advanced section and set SSL verify peer setting to No.
I’ve tried to go in the advanced settings of the app but I don’t find the SSL verify setting, why is that?
Thanks again
The ssl verify setting is in JIG, general tab.
Works great, thanks again, best support ever!
No problem
I just updated to version 2.3 (WordPress v3.9.3) and I get the following 2 errors—one for height and the other for width when I put a NExtGen Album short code in my page (NextGen version 2.0.66.33 latest):
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘width’ in /wp-content/plugins/justified-image-grid/justified-image-grid.php on line 14991
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘height’ in /wp-content/plugins/justified-image-grid/justified-image-grid.php on line 14992
I’m not getting that, weird. It says that your images don’t have size metadata in NextGEN. Contact me from my profile I’ll check it out.
Pre-sale question. My client wants to be able to upload images to Facebook in different albums and have them automatically show up on his site via a media-gallery page without a need to login to wordpress and manually add each album. Of course I would setup the plugin initially but then there would be no need to do anything for the albums to show up after that.
Is this something that this plugin can do? I have seen many that the user would have to use a shortcode for each album they want to display on a page but nothing that would automatically post/update the albums.
Yes of course, everything can get added automatically. http://justifiedgrid.com/wp-content/uploads/Facebook1.jpg See the blue buttons here. Now there is also 2 more, the latest album as a cover photo and also latest album’s content. This example is automatically updated: http://justifiedgrid.com/facebook-overview/
Nice. Got everything setup, but when selecting a FB Album on the gallery page it opens up a page with 404 error. I have tried disabling plugins, flushing permalinks. Any suggestions?
http://angelosrestaurant.com/media-gallery/When you rewrote the URL slug to “album” it’s likely conflicting with seomthing else on the site that also uses it (e.g. custom post type, other galleries). There is a reason why it’s more unique by default. Confirm my theory by renaming that to something different.
It was doing it before I change the slug. I have found that if I change the permalinks back to default it works correctly. Now I just need to found out why it is not working when the Post name option is being used.
Do you have a post slug that conflicts with the default slug of facebook albums?
Nope. I can send you temp login via your profile if you don’t mind taking a look and see if you can find the issue.
Sure, contact me from my profile.
Just sent you a message with login details. Thanks
I’ll process it!
Hi, I need to unbind the license from one domain that we didn’t use the gallery on and move to another. How can I go about doing that? Thanks.
Done!
Pre-purchase questions :
I would like to disable the lightbox feature when browsing on mobiles, but keep it for tablets and desktops. Is this possible?
Is it possible to add an additional / alternative lightbox should the need arise?
Thanks,
Adam
Phones and tablets as one group, mobile devices. It’s possible to disable the lightbox but it’ll get disabled on both tablets and phones, while not on desktop.
You can set up custom lightbox yes.
