hi there I am using the Flikr gallery setting, I am wanting to show all photosets on one page and not just select one at a time. can you help?
Yes use the collections feature but you need to have a collection that shows more than one or all photosets. If you don’t have such then create one on Flickr.
fantastic that has worked! thank you. one more question please, the sets within the collection currently only show the collection name when i hover the mouse over them is there any way i can have the description permanently on? because on the mobile site it just shows no description thanks!
Go to Captions tab and then set mobile caption to “fixed”. It’ll stay on.
Love the plugin but I have an issue that persists even after upgrading to 2.0.4. I’m using Flickr as a source and the load more option.
While the page is loading my captions appear as expected. However, once the page loads the captions disappears.
After clicking the ‘load more’ button the captions on the newly loaded photos appear as expected.
I tested it without the ‘load more’ option. When all the photos load at once the issue is still present. The captions display while the page is loading then disappear once the page is finished loading.
Here’s a link to one of our gallery pages where we are experiencing the issue.
Any ideas about how to fix?
Social Gallery is doing that. Go into their settings, Social tab and the second setting:
Social Overlay: Show Social Stats overlay on JiG
Turn it off.
That worked! Thanks a ton for the quick response!

Hi, thanks for your review. I check out your site now, wishing to link to it from your review once it’s shown on my site, but your social gallery seems to be not working. I recommend using PrettyPhoto and/or PhotoSwipe 4 instead on cmacloseup.
If you look at your formatting menu you will see a green box. That is the Nextgen Gallery settings box where you can then resort the images, have them displayed as a slide show, contact sheet and more.
You can’t do it from the plug-ins options it is now part of the formatting menu.
Sorry what is this related to, is this a reply to someone else?
I’m trying to display images that are tagged as “print” from 80 different NextGen galleries.
SO far it works fine, except for I don’t see a way to reorder these images the way I like. For example I want image 2 from gallery 1 to show up first, and then image 3 from gallery 5 to show up second. Does that make sense?
Is there a way to achieve this? I was hoping setting order to “title_asc” would be a good solution, but it actually looks at the title of the galleries, instead of the title of each individual image.
There is no way to manually order the images in that case. However the automatic order settings on the general tab should definitely order the images by their title date etc and not their galleries’ data. If you beleive there is a bug please contact me from my profile and I’l work it out on your installation until your are satisfied with the result.
Hi, Same problem as webbybrad here, My Flickr images don’t show up anymore and I’ve got the message: The requested photo source cannot be loaded at this time. SSL is required
Thanks Ludmilla
Update JIG to the latest version, request a new API key from Flickr. Make sure openssl is installed and active on your server. If all else fails: http://codecanyon.net/item/justified-image-grid-premium-wordpress-gallery/2594251/faqs/16209
Thanks for the quick answer, I updated JIG and it now works.
No problem.
Hello
There is an issue with Flickr it is now asking for an ssl to pull the images. No images are loading.
Is there a fix for this issue?
Thanks

Hello,
I recently installed a plugin that allows me to add another field to my images called ‘credit’. I would like to some how use this field with JIG but I do not see an option to do so. Is there a function I can modify or some how include so that I can utilize this field and have both this new field and description show with JIG? http://cl.ly/image/2F2v3V360N1i
Sure I’ll add this as a feature eventually but in the meantime contact me from my profile and tell me where would you like to utilise that field. I can offer this as a small customization.
Thanks!
Okay!
Hi!
I love the plugin and how it works with Flickr.
I believe flickr have done a few changes lately and I noticed there is an error in my site, I get this message from the plugin settings: Error from Flickr: SSL is required (code 95)
and the site show this one: The requested photo source cannot be loaded at this time.
Is there anything I could do to make it work?? Thanks!

How can i translate the Load more and Read more (prettyPhoto) text? I scanned the plugin for all the strings (804) but these two don’t appear in the translatable strings. Also, Is there any setting to change the Read more text?
Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks.
They are translatable with WPML string translation, only if you haven’t rewritten them in the settings.
If you just want to rewrite them into 1 single language there are settings for these.
SCE Recent posts tab:
Lightbox link text recents_link_text The text for the permalink in the lightbox, e.g. Read more, Go to post.
JIG Settings Load more tab: Load more text The text to show on the button, instead of ‘Load more’.
If you got more languages or want to use WPML sting translation instead check out the docs and this setting:
Aid translation of customizable JIG texts
Normally you can only translate the customizable JIG texts (such as Load More, Read More, Download, etc.) using WPML String Translations, if you keep the default English versions unchanged.
Default behavior – the default texts are fine for English and/or I use only one language (any).
Reset the default texts for languages other than English to allow String Translations in WPML – I use multiple languages.
Hello,
Am I right in saying that I can use animated GIF’s in your plugin?
Really love the look and options of your plugin but I have to have the ability to change certain images in the grid.
Thanks
Yes you can use animated gifs. What do you mean change certain images, animate?
Thanks for the response, What I mean is, I need to change maybe 5 or 6 images in the grid automatically. Kinda like small sliders in a justified grid. I was thinking that GIF’s would do the job but I am loosing the quality of the images doing it this way. Is it possible to put small sliders in a justified grid?
Thanks
Sorry you can’t switch around thumbnails in the grid like sliders nor put sliders in place of images. Animated gifs would be the only way at the moment.
HI, I just purchased your plugin and set it up on my site… I’m hoping to use the image gallery as a way to display the larger images, without allowing users to click through to the Lightbox (full size version). I’ve almost got the plugin setup how I want it, but when I preview my gallery it looks like all the images are dramatically lower quality – to the point where I don’t want to feature them this way on my site – ex. http://stage.laurenmoffettphoto.com/myanmar-burma/ . I’ve set the TimThumb quality to 100, and I think it still looks pretty bad. Is there another way to force your plugin to use a better quality version of the image?
Also, after I get it set up how I want, I will be serving all images through a CDN to speed up load times. However, after a quick test on my site it seems it will be difficult to connect your plugin with Amazon S3 & CloudFront. Do you have any suggestions to help with this connection?
Thanks! Love the plugin so far BTW
Update: The poor quality is really only noticeable when using a HiDPI (retina) display device (understandably). I’ve implemented the setting in the gallery to serve larger images to HiDPI devices, but I need to upload larger images to test if that’s working correctly. Please disregard for now.
However, I did notice that each image in the grid (regardless of size) is sourcing the full-size version of the images. Can I force it to source from the “medium” size version of the image instead (to save bandwidth/loading time)?
Disable retina ready if you are already showing large images. Additionally try also disabling timthumb. Retina quality is scaled down relative to pixel density to maintain acceptable image sizes, it’s not noticeable most of the time when showing normal sized thumbs. For your case it’s different.
A previous buyer setup amazonaws and I can forward you his results in setting it up (a small tutorial). Contact me from my profile.
The source image is dependent on the “lightbox max size” setting on the lightboxes tab.
Perfect, thanks for the info. I messaged you through the profile to request the amazon tutorial.
thanks!
Ok I’ll fwd it to you. No problem!
Hi Firsh It’s a brilliant plugin but I simply can’t figure out the alt issue. All I want is the alt tag to read the alt text I have assigned to it in the html. I do not want a caption or title to show at all. I just want the alt tag for SEO both on the thumbnail and the large image. Thanks.
You can assign the alt text to images in the media library’s alt text field. Only title, desc, caption attributes allow HTML tags, as WP strips them from ‘Alt’. The lightboxes tab has controls over which field to show as image’s alt and which as the anchor’s (link’s) title. Large images are only pointed to from the links, the lightboxes are not seen by google (that I know of, since they are purely JS).
Thank you but this is not clear. I understand that I must fill in the alt filed in media library.
I don’t understand this statement: “Only title, desc, caption attributes allow HTML tags, as WP strips them from ‘Alt’. “
Are you saying you can’t assign text to an alt tag for an image in WP?
Are you saying if I want an alt tag in the grid, then that text must show up on the Lightbox image? Because that’s what happens.
What you are saying is that you really can’t use alt tags on the large images, correct? And that if you want alt tags on the grid, you are forced to have the alt text show up in lightbox, right?
It seems to me a lot of people are seeking clarity on this issue.
All I want is the alt tag in te html to read the alt text I have assigned to it in the media library. I do not want a caption or title to show at all. I just want the alt tag for SEO both on the thumbnail and the large image.
Is this possible?
Thanks, John
You can assign any text but not HTML tags in the WP field “alt”. It can do what you want to achieve, just thought you wanted links in it or similar.
By default yes if an image has alt tag then the lightbox will pick it up. It’s dependent on which lightbox you use, but usually you can disable texts in the lightbox via the lightbox’s extra JS settings or CSS if all else fails. So you are not forced to have text in the lightbox just because of alt text. People usually type in the (alt) text for the human visitors too, not solely for the search engine bots.
Large images are created by the lightboxes’ JS scripts and crawling them is not guaranteed nor it or its effectiveness is controlled by JIG.
These have nothing to do with what appears on the thumbnails (captions).
For best SEO use the Yoast WP SEO plugin that creates an XML sitemap that you can submit to webmaster tools of google. It’s like a catalog of all pages, posts, images on your site.
First, The content of the alt tag does does not display in html UNLESS you have “WP field for img alt (image tag’s alt attribute)” set to on, in which case it appears on the light box, which is not desirable in most cases.
Second, JIG does NOT allow alt in the large image. NexGen does. In fact, JIG strips the alt tags when you let JIG take it over!
Justification at what cost? Therefore there are serious SEO problems with the plugin.
I think people deserve clarity on this and not obfuscation. I had to spent 2 hours figuring this out when you could have simply answered the question.
.
Yes the “WP field for img alt (image tag’s alt attribute)” controls the alt attribute. It’s entirely up to the lightbox you use to use that or not for its texts, large image alt attribute and whatnot. JIG doesn’t strip anything, it simply doesn’t use the same lightbox as NextGEN. It doesn’t matter which lightbox you use, by their very nature of being JS-based their SEO is not so good. If you only need good seo [for the large images] don’t use a lightbox but direct the clicks onto WP attachment pages you can enhance in PHP however you need it. Google can see the thumbnails and their attributes and their links to the large image. I don’t believe there is need for the large image to be set up this way as it can connect the thumbnails with their large version and finds both.
If text in lightbox is undesired you can turn it off on the lightbox’s side. In case of prettyPhoto go to lightboxes tab in JIG settings, prettyPhoto JS settings and set the row
show_title: false,
ok thanks.
I am seeing a strange issue with only certain images on our gallery.
They are all set to use prettyphoto as the lightbox set to ‘Large’
I have cropped every image manually before loading with a vertical height set to a max of 800px.
However, if you click on any photo and start scrolling through them (while in the lightbox mode), some images load at full size and the url changes to include their loaded size.
For example, I have uploaded this image: http://anudemuse.com/wp-content/uploads/amberkourtney-63.jpg Yet when it loads in the lightbox it is forced to display fullscreen mode and the url becomes: (with the size added to the url) http://anudemuse.com/gallery/#!prettyPhoto[1]/http://anudemuse.com/wp-content/uploads/amberkourtney-63-1024x682.jpgThis happens to about 10% of my images in the gallery. Is there a reason why these certain images load at fullscreen view?
Also, for my mobile lightbox, I use photoswipe, but on android (using chrome browser) the ‘swiping does not work). Is there a fix for this?
Use the “max size for lightbox” setting in the lightboxes tab. That particular example is Wordpress’ way of resizing the images. I think it was wide, thus it came down from 800px height to 682. The WP “Large” size is cropped to 1024×1024 in either direction, whichever is met first but keeps the original AR. If you set that setting to “Full” and you have manually processed the images then you’ll achieve the desired result.
Android swiping is not implemented by PhotoSwipe, it’s so weird. A top author, dim semenov took over its development and will fix the issues but we are still waiting. I’ll just find another lightbox to include I think.
Thank you sir! Worked!
Great!
Hi,
I am using justified grid with recent posts, but it only extracts 50 posts and not all of them, is there a setting i’m missing?
this is my shortcode:[justified_image_grid preset=15 thumbs_spacing=5 row_height=250 prettyphoto_social=yes prettyphoto_theme=facebook prettyphoto_analytics=yes caption=fade lightbox=prettyphoto orderby=rand max_rows=3 width_mode=responsive_fallback disable_cropping=no load_more=scroll load_more_mobile=hybrid load_more_limit=10 recent_posts=yes recents_post_type=artwork recents_link_to=image recents_link=yes]
Use the limit setting on the general tab to control how much you want to load in total. Load more will reach that amount with subsequent load mores. The default limit is 50.
Hi Firsh, I’m getting the following error with one of my larger galleries (the others work fine). Here’s the gallery:
http://tommyschultz.com/blog/things-to-do-in-bali/All of the images have failed to load.
This is most likely a TimThumb permissions error.
Go to the Justified Image Grid settings, TimThumb & CDN tab. Click check permissions then click 0755 or 0777 to see if that works (or do it manually via FTP, on the files and folders it lists there in case chmod fails). You can disable TimThumb with the ‘Use TimThumb’ setting and the option ‘No’.
Also read the troubleshooting guide in the documentation on what else to do, especially if you are using Hostgator!
If you are using a Better WP Security plug-in go to the Better WP Security settings, System Tweaks, Filter Suspicious Query Strings: Disable
Tip: Install the official WP plugin ‘Jetpack’ by Automattic and enable ‘Photon’. Jetpack enables you to connect your blog to a WordPress.com account to use the powerful features normally only available to WordPress.com users. It’s an excellent TimThumb alternative and will make your images load faster. Note that you won’t be able to use special effects due to cross-domain security limitations. Read more at: jetpack.me
I already contacted Hostgator support and followed those instructions and also changed the TimThumb to 0755.
The problem is this gallery is not displaying properly, do you have any suggestions?
The source image is not found:
http://tommyschultz.com/blog/photos/things-to-do-in-bali-1/things-to-do-in-bali-18.jpgSo timthumb is unable to create a thumbnail of it. What makes your WP installation think that there is an image at that URL?
The following error(s) occured:
An error occured fetching image.
http://tommyschultz.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/justified-image-grid/timthumb.php?src=http://tommyschultz.com/blog/photos/things-to-do-in-bali-1/things-to-do-in-bali-18.jpg&h=505&q=90&f=.jpg
Thanks for the quick reply Firsh, I didn’t see that thumbnail error. I deleted the broken gallery, uploaded a new one and everything working fine now. You can check it out at:
http://tommyschultz.com/blog/things-to-do-in-bali/Thanks again for your help—love your plugin!
Great! May I feature your site on my “see it in action” page?
yes for sure, please do. let me know if there’s anything else i can do to help you promote the plugin
You can enable the developer link feature with your username if you wish and it’ll use your affiliate URL so you would also get some money by doing so. It puts a small link after JIG in the left corner.
hello, great plugin,. i put it on my site and everything works great. except im having a problem with the presets. every time i try to use one with a caption on it, it loads up at first then just dissapears. i tried a few different presets, and they all do the same thing. it loads up then goes away
http://www.lolhd.com/watch-myley-cyrus-give-epic-wedgie-right-stage-front-fans/im using newest version of nextgen
The captions are mouse activated in this preset and are only seen when the mouse is over. What device are you using and would you like the caption to be fixed or under the images? Try the caption style setting on the captions tab. Fixed or ‘below’ options.
I’m having trouble having filter buttons appear. When I add two shortcodes to one page, the filter buttons only appear on the second gallery. When I delete the top shortcode, the buttons disappear. The two shortcodes are exactly the same. What’s going on here? (link)
Your child theme’s custom style.css has this rule:
div#jig1-filterButtons { display: none; }
Should’ve checked with my team, thanks!
No problem.
hi-prettyphoto lightbox—I would like to have the lightbox stay say 5px from top of the viewport instead of moving for each image.
in a gallery where every image is a different size, the lightbox moves partially out of the viewport every time the image changes.
i saw a fix here, but I can’t find where to put this in your prettyphotocustomjs http://misha.beshkin.lv/howto-to-fix-height-and-width-of-prettyphoto-popup/The zip you download from here includes an unminified version of the custom JS of prettyPhoto, if it helps. You can add the fix into that. Line 340 of jquery.prettyphoto.custom.js (it’s in the unpacked folder inside the zip, it doesn’t get installed to your server).
thanks for that, though the code snippet I found doesn’t give the desired results: it stretches images to 80%.
Is there another way to tackle this?
Well I don’t believe prettyPhoto is made for that behavior. FooBox has a way to keep navigation arrows on the sides of the screen so whenever an image changes the arrows stay in place so you don’t need to catch them with the mouse. Also the image is aligned perfectly at all times, check that out.
Hey my albums are not show and I got this message:
Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist.
So I actually the permalinks and nothing happens! So what can I do???? I changed nothing!
Which version do you use and what is your image source? Is it NextGEN? If you are using the latest JIG and the problem is with NextGEN then please contact me for the latest beta.
I use NextGen Version 2.0.66
Ok I can send you the beta there could be some problems with the direction of slashes in the image URLs.
Dear Firsh,
I have the same SSL error as BarinBuro above. On request my hosting provider Inmotion replied that openssl is installed on the server. I changed the 2 lines in justified-image-grid.php but the problem is not solved.
Please help !
Please contact me from my profile for more info.
