Hi
I’ve recently purchased your plugin and installed its on a staging site. The site is a clean install of WP with no plugins or themes added. Your plugin works great up until sending/receiving the eCard, unfortunately they don’t get sent/I don’t receive them.
I have checked my junk, sent to numerous different email clients, installed the Mail From II plugin, Added in from name and address in the “Email name and address” field, removed the captcha etc but to no avail
Do you have any other ideas? You have previously mentioned it may be an issue with the mail() function or the server? Are we able to work out if it is either of these?
Thanks in advance
Hello.
You don’t need the Mail From II anymore.
The only issues I’ve encountered are either email message ends up in SPAM or there is a server misconfiguration in regard to the mail() function.
Try to read the server logs or contact your server administrator in order to isolate the issue.
You’re welcome.
I would like to purchase this plugin to use on a multilingual site. Does this plugin support localization and is it compatible with WPML?
Thanks!
Hi. The plugin can be translated in any language using the included .po/.mo files. Compatibility with WPML is not required as the plugin’s main function is a shortcode only.
Hi, I read through this comment thread but I still have problem in displaying the image(s) to any page or post.
I followed your instruction:- Insert the image in the page/post just like any other image
- Click the Upload/Insert button, drag an image or two, or 10, or 50 and that’s it!
- Close the image upload window and Publish the post.
I also disabled all the plugins and custom theme, but the problem persists.
Can you help me out please? I can send you the admin username/password for you to have a look at the issue.
Cheers,
Go ahead and send me the details. I’m sure you’re either missing a step or there’s a theme conflict.
I can not use my Plugins in Website Can not Send Ecard to Email Not sure what went wrong here. Please help me to install I tried many times but failed. Domain me tell you via Email. Thank
I’m sorry, I can’t read your language, so I can’t check your web site.
Hi – I’ve searched the comments but I did not see anyone ask about how to re-arrange the email message that is sent to the recipients.
1. In my test install of this plugin, there is a hard-break (carriage return) between the Salutation message and the message sender email address
2. I would like the chosen picture to come first, followed by the message from the sender (if any)
I’ve looked at the Plugin editor and I guess the file to edit is wp-ecards.php – but I’m not an experienced php coder, so I have not found where I can re-order the output email message.
Please help Be well
I’ve implemented a configurator for one of my plugins and I am working on a template editor for eCards. It’s going to be something big, so it takes some time.
You will be able to arrange the content inside the email message any way you want.
It’s been a long requested feature and it’s about 75% ready.
That’s great to hear! Looks like it will be too late for Christmas, but there are other year end and spring holidays coming up where we are – it will be most welcome when you are ready. Many thanks in advance
You’re welcome.
Hello, Did a good job. The message on the form indicates that the eCard has been sent successfully. However the emails are not being received. I took a look at the reviews and now have disabled plug ins. I enabled and also have disabled reCAPTCHA. The error persists Can you help me?
HI, Is there anyway that the plugin works with a gallery? I would like to include an additional page on my site for the ecards (not just under each post). Can I add some gallery plugin that it will work with? Thanks.
What exactly do you mean? You can add 10 or 50 or 100 eCards on the same post/page.
If you mean a styled gallery, like a carousel, it’s not yet possible.
I love this plugin. The only problem is with the Paypal option only working for guests or non-members. I want to have an e-card that users purchase through the Paypal option when a user is logged in. Is there a way to do that…it’s kinda important. In other words, I want the Paypal option to show up for everyone, logged in or not.
It might be possible, but I need to check out the code. Next week some updates will be released, so stay tuned.
Thank you so much for your fast reply. It’d be great if you are able to do this. I was playing with the codecanyon-1051966-wordpress-ecards/wp-ecards.php file just to see what would happen, and in the line:
if(null != $content && (current_user_can(‘read’) || ($_GET[‘id’] + 600) > time())) {
I removed removed the word read and it now shows the paypal payment option whether you’re signed in or not. I tested it and it works. I know very little about coding and this is likely not the way to do this (even though it works), but I thought it might help you figure it out.
Thanks for a great plugin. This will be on a celebrity website (www.simplyeartha.com) and will be used to raise money for colon cancer research.
Great job, I’ll need to test it with several scenarios. I’ll keep you posted.
Where in the code is the size thumbnail generated i like to display them bigger some what bigger.
Found it its a Wordpress feature …/wp-admin/options-media.php and you can use regenerate thumbnails to regenerate the sizes after setting it in ../wp-admin/options-media.php
Yep, that was it. Glad you found it.
Hi, we would like to add some modification to your script. Do you do custom works ? We would like to have the message text added to the card directly. Possible ? Regards, Olivier
Hi, I am not available for custom work.
ok thank you
Hi I just purchased your plugin and I’m having trouble getting it to actually send. You can see my test here: www.yvonnepage.com/ecard-test/ I have tried uninstalling all other plugins and no success. I have tried setting the email options to the default blanks to and from addresses. I embedded the [ecards] shortcode directly into the page with a picture. It tells me it’s been successfully sent but it’s not actually sending. I’ve tested on multiple email addresses. What am I missing? Thank you!
I’ve checked your website and, indeed, it’s not working. It could be a server issue or a mail() function issue. Where are you hosting your website?
dreamhost.com I did get it to work once or twice last night but when it did, the email said it was missing the attachment and did not link back to my page…I don’t know if this is a separate issue though.
got it to send!
Hi,
I am generally happy with the ecards plugin but I have a question.
How can I link from the emailed ecard back to the post from where the ecard was sent? Currently it links back to a Wordpress attachment page instead, which only contains a small version of the image and none of the other content on the originating page. Is there some kind of shortcode variation I need to use, or is there a line in the code that I need to change?
Thanks, Steve.
Hi Steve. Actually, when you redirect to the image, it will show you either the eCard post or the image (or, in your case, the attachment). What you need to do is to modify your attachment.php page (or create it if it doesn’t exist). Contact me via email and we’ll do it together.
am just about to try this out – was wondering if there is a feature to allow the end user to set how much they want to pay for the ecard instead of fixing a set amount, this would be great for doing donations, a minimum amount would also be good too…
thanks in advance
Yes, it is. Notice this shortcode – {paypal amount=8}{ecard}{/paypal} – you can set the amount to whatever you want.
Read the Dashboard help section.
Note: replace { with [
have just come back to use this plugin after some time… following on from your response this isnt what i was asking – i understand that you the site owner can set the price, what i was hoping for is the visitor to the site can choose the amount they want to pay…. that way you could use it like a donation feature for varied amounts…
also having the pay before you can see or even create your ecard doesnt seem to be a logical approach and would be better if they were prompted to pay after they created it… then only when the transaction was completed the card is sent…
No, it is not possible. You set the price, as you are the seller. You can use free plugins to set up donation based pages where you can add your eCards.
You can see the eCard before paying for it. The payment works for individual images only, and the form is hidden. But the image is visible.
Dear author, is there any way to get a list of the emails that were used to send the cards? Both to & from, please let me know and thanks!
The BCC emails are fixed on my development server, I’ll pack it as an updated release and post it here after some tweaks for WordPress 3.8-beta-1.
It works but it is a really poor WP-Plugin!
- no preview - no notification - difficult style changing
and so on….
What’s the “so on”?
1. Style can be changed by using a dropdown option. 2. What kind of notification do you want? The plugin sends an image via email. 3. Preview for what? The image is right there, and the text goes below it.
Critique is good but let’s make it constructive. What do you suggest in order to improve it?
Hi there,
Thanks for your great plugin. After playing with it it almost works like I want it to work.
Just two questions: 1. How do send it to more receivers in BCC (now all the receivers see all email addresses) 2. Is it possible to change the link in the email to a post page?
Hope to hear from you!
Greetings
Yes, it is possible. Do you want the image post or a custom post?
To a custom post please.
If you go to the “eCards Email Options” and select the “Show custom link” in the first dropdown, then you’re all set.
Hi butterflymedia, I have purchased your plugin few days ago and I starting using it.
I have noticed, the only way to get a error message is write the wrong captcha.
If the captcha is correct and you clicks on send button, you get the message ‘eCard sent successfully!’ although you have not filled with all the essential data e.g. with your name, e-mail and your friend’s email address, so you can think all is ok, when it is not. It seems there is the same problem also in the testing links.http://getbutterfly.com/valentines-day-ecards/ Am I missing something? Please, can you tell me how I can fix it (I am not a programmer)? My postcards are also for kids and for very distracted people so would be very important to check no field has been forgotten.
Two more questions:
- Is there a way to customize the title field with the sender’s name like “email from [Sender’s name] !”?
-The ‘your name’ field is displayed incredible long in my page (also using your standard styles), how can I change it?
Thank you so much for your great plugin and kind attention, have a nice weekend!
I’ll check and release an update, what version of WordPress are you using? I’m using WordPress 3.8-alpha and it might have something to do with that.
Hi! Thank you so much!!!
I am using WP 3.7.1
Best
Regarding the required fields, are you using Internet Explorer? All fields are required in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer 9 and 10.
I am using Safari on a Mac and on an iPad, in both the devices the required fields are not actually working. You can have the impression to send a card without Name and addresses (eCard send successfully!) only writing ‘spa’ in the last field.
Best!
It seems that MacOS Safari and iOS Safari do not support the “required” attribute in HTML5, according to the official specifications – http://caniuse.com/#search=required – notice the pink column.
I’m currently investigating a workaround or a fix.
Thank you I have seen… My site should work well with both Safari for IOS and Android Browser. Thank you again!
Hi there,
I posted this question on your message board too.
I’ve got a website that has a one page theme. I’ve added this lovely plugin to the menu. However, now, the “home page” is directing to the plugin, instead of the top of the page.
Can this be solved? If not, I’ll have to get rid of the plugin. I need the domain to lead to the top of the page.
Here’s my domain: www.thelovemindset.com
Thanks so much,
Vironika
Sorry to bother you AGAIN – I just removed the plugin… and moved it to www.thelovemindset/inspire-a-friend … so that thelovemindset.com showed up at the top. If you could let me know how to fix the problem without seeing it, that’d be lovely lol. I tried to use redirection to redirect from thelovemindset to thelovemindset/# but it said that it caused an infinite loop or something. That was the only way I could think to have it start at the top. Any ideas would be appreciated!
You would need to modify the theme in order to add an anchor to the plugin section. Could you put the plugin on the home page again and then contact me via email – getbutterfly [at] gmail [dot] com – with your WordPress admin credentials.
Great plugin but it works not
get no e-mail and see no pictures
John
