I like the plugin but I do not like being forced to use another plugin when I have paid for this one.
At no point does it tell me that akismet is a requirement in the docs.
Documentation is woefully inadequate and gives you very little about how to lay them out and actually create the page.. step by step.. Many people will require that.
I write docs for a living I can say that these docs do not help people at all.
I have tested this forward and backward and purchased two licenses. When you use the drop down.. in the pro version. it still requires akismet and will not send unless you have it installed.
In other words you are forced to buy another plugin in order to use the plugin that you already bought. I have tried multiple ways to get around that and you cant. when i installed the version of free akismet it works but since I have google ads on my page I have to use a paid version.
the drop down saying don't use akismet doesn't work and the cards didn't send until I bought the plugin. Kind of dirty pool on that one.
Author response
Akismet is not a requirement, it's a suggestion. Also, Akismet is free.
I will remove the hard-coded checks and only use it if it's installed (free or paid). I'll also add a CAPTCHA field.
I do agree the documentation needs improving, so thank you for the 4-star review.
Basically, a good idea and a advantage for visitors. Only theusability for the Admin is a not usual and takes a lot of patience.
Excellent ecard wp plugin, simple to setup and reliable.
The author seems to use he's own plugin, so it receives frequent updates.

Thank you!
This plugin is not working properly.
1. Autor is lying, that eCards makes it quick and easy for you to send an eCard in 3 easy steps. 2. Shortcodes [ecards id=”1, 2, 3”] and image ID are not working properly, not in Divi theme, not in classical WP editor. I tried many times. If I enter shortcode, it shows just the form, no images. If images are shown, then there is no form. 3.The author does not know, what is 123greetings.com- the golden standart for sending ecards. 4. Inferior help files, no step by step instructions. And why there is written- send email, if there are no answers on emails? 5. Dedicated email address is not working. This plugin uses WordPress internal email no matter you will do. 6.This plugin has so many bugs, that I don't know, how it got approved on Envato.com. 7.My refund request was declined by author and Envato. And now I have non working useless plugin. Avoid this plugin! Choose better plugins!
Author response
1 and 2. So, eCards is using images uploaded to your Media Library, so it is compatible with the Divi theme. If you use the [ecards id=”1, 2, 3”] shortcode, you can use it anywhere, using any theme. The ID is the ID of the image in Media Library. If you open any image in the Media Library editor, you’ll see the ID in the URL.
3. This is a WordPress plugin. It doesn’t have to work the same as 123Greetings.
4. The documentation is linked inside the plugin, here - https://getbutterfly.com/knowledge-base/
5. Yes, it is working, you need an SMTP plugin, such as Post SMTP or YaySMTP. There's lots of other ones, too.
6. The plugin has no bugs.
7. Refunds are only granted if no help is requested and the plugin generates a fatal error that cannot be fixed.
Thank you!
I have mailed Ciprian 4 times with clear questions at the indicated email adress: ciprian@getbutterfly.com
But I'm getting zero respones and DO have support included in the purchase.
I'm mailing from the domain @becourageousinnovation.com and maybe it's ending up in spam, but that's very unlikely.
Please get back and help me with my questions.
Thank you
Author response
There is no email support, everything is done here, via comments, to help other users.
Good but average with regards to functionallity and special features
Author response
Thanks! What special features are you referring to?
Customer Support ABSOLUTELY was not available anywhere! I had to enlist two professional website builders to help me and both (unrelated) said there is a peice of code missing that causes a brick wall to stop its use. UNINSTALLED it and went to another.
Author response
There is no missing piece of code, the plugin works out of the box. Also, there was no attempt to contact support prior to this review.
Purchased this code three weeks ago and posted a request for assistance at that time. Have emailed the author directly and been the their website and created an account for support...still nothing. This is my worst experience on code canyon. Don't sell "support" when you do not support. I am requesting a refund as you do not honor your contract with people who purchase your product.
Cannot get it to work no matter what I do - very confusing setup.
Author response
The plugin's setup is very straightforward. The plugin works out of the box. Also, there was no attempt to contact support prior to this review.
This is the most awesome plugin I have used in a long time. My site funeral.com incorporated this into the site to allow users to send eCards to the bereaved. It's Perfect, well thought out and works perfectly.
Highly recommended and worth every penny. One can sell their eCards also which at this time we are experimenting with the free version. Chris B Funeral.com

Thank you very much!
An excellent plugin and the customer support is superb. Any question I have had has been answered promptly and completely. Very happy!
I'm pretty much disappointed and would like to have my money back should this be an available option. The basically plugin works but not quite. The link in the ecard message leads not to the ecard (even though it states so and this is something to be expected) but to the attachment post of the image, which is not in any way customized and provides no ecard experience to the recipient: this is just a plain link to an image. Second, I can't force the plugin to use the
"Dedicated email address" even though I've configured it properly: instead the plugin uses the wordpress@[mydomain] address and signs ecards messages as Wordpress not as something related to my website. I don't like that ecard recipients will see it this way in their mailboxes. Finally, ecards themselves are styled as too basic and unengaging, if not plain ugly.
Author response
I'm sorry you had this experience.
The eCards are not styled at all, as this should be up to each customer. The plugin uses the TinyMCE editor, so you can style it however you want. I've been tinkering with the idea of creating templates, but it's too subjective and I decided to allow the customers to create their own templates.
I will create a repository of copy/paste code for the templates and add it to the plugin's documentation section.
Read my comments to see how to change the sender and how to customise the attachment page.
Installed this plugin on a charity's website at https://www.ectopic.org.uk/get-involved/ecard/ and it's working nicely. There are a few PHP errors, which I'll notify the author of separately, but nothing that causes a problem.
Features are pretty much what I'd expect. Glad it's not overloaded with settings.
It does seems improved, compared to an earlier version I tested a year or two ago.
It's a really important tool for us, because last Christmas we made ~£600 from donations by people clicking a link in e-cards. This year we're aiming for over £1,000.
Very useful plugin. Simple and easy to use.
Author response
Thank you! Why 4 stars?
I did not get the support I needed from the owner of this plugin. Waste of time and I could not be implemented immediately (Change my Project plan !!).
I wait so long to.
Author response
A vacation response has been set up for the holidays and I suppose you missed it. Also, inside the plugin archive there is a documentation folder with everything you need. Also, inside the plugin's Settings screen, there is a link to the official, updated documentation. Setting up the plugin is very easy.

Great E-Card Plugin, couldn't find better online.
Amazing support, Immediately after flagging my problem new version was released with fixed issue!!!
Prompt reply, understanding, support, what else a customer can ask for!!!!
thanks for fast answer!
Sorry for bad rating, but maybe you should do a better documentation.
I really not understanding how it works. Shall i add several pics to the post text and the shortcode? and after that the pics will be clickable? and after i have clicked the pic i will be redirected to the postcard with this pic?
if it so, you should ad this explanation to the doc, if not enplane how to do this
Author response
Hi. Yes, you create a post, you upload the images to the post (do not insert them, the plugin will detect them automatically) and then add the shortcode. eCards are images, so you can group your posts into categories and display them inside your theme.
Contact me here - https://getbutterfly.com/members/support/ - and I'll help you configure it.
