Hello, I’m trying to use your plugin with nextgen gallery on localhost, but I always receive this error:
“All of the images have failed to load.
Tip: Install the official WP plugin ‘Jetpack’ by Automattic and enable ‘Photon’ ”.
On localhost I couldn’t acitvate Photon, because I can’t connect with wordpress.com account.
Is there an alternative to Photon or nextgen plugin?
I also tried to check permission on TimThumb & CDN tab.
This is shortcode: “[justified_image_grid preset=3 ng_gallery=1]”
Thanks
It’ll still be permissions but if you could set up a way to view it from the internet I could probably tell you more. If this is just a staging server then you can disable timthumb on the timthumb tab. There is no officially supported alternative.
Hi, Firsh! I’m updating a gallery on a site. Only one of the photos is linked to a post, and so when it’s clicked on, it opens the post page, which is what I want it to do.
Now I want to create posts for the rest of the images to link to, but I don’t know how to link them once they’re already set up in the gallery. I’ve read the docs and spent about an hour trying to figure this out. Can you help?
The gallery page is www.ahomeforabby.com/gallery. The image on the upper right links to a post because I set that up a long time ago. Tonight I added a post for the pic on the upper left but don’t know how to link to it on the gallery. The post page is http://ahomeforabby.com/a-forever-home/ I want to create posts for all the images in the gallery.
Thanks
If you just want to manually add the link to those pictures, open them from the Media Library and you’ll find the JIG Link and JIG Target fields if you scroll down, next to the other metadata fields.
That did it, thanks! I was trying to add it from another function.
Good! Please don’t forget to rate the plugin.
Hi, Firsch. I rated it 5 stars a long time ago when I first bought it, and have recommended it many times because it’s such a great plugin. In fact, I recommended it to someone about an hour ago
Excellent, thank you for spreading the word!
Hi.
I’m having problem with Filters. “All” shows up great, but specific tags are not working, everything disappears. I’m using Media Library Assistant to tag my images. My test page: http://spsk.lv/4983-2
And do you plan to add Isotope effect for filters in future?
What is the slug of your tags? Can you set them something manually? Right now it seems like 0 and 1. You could enter some text as slugs.
No isotope is an alternative to JIG layout, it’s either one or the other. I don’t plan on mimicing their fancy animations, I tried but the JIG layout is not compatible with it.
Thank you, I had only numbers in my slug, replaced with text and now it’s working.
Ok, JIG works wonderfully, just asking.
Great. I’ll do something about the numbers only slugs problem.
Currently running WP version 3.7, will this plugin work with my current version?
Yes I updated on my test server and saw no problems. If you still run into any trouble let me know.
Hello,
Before i buy this plugin i have two questions i want to ask you.
1- Can i use this plugin so images send to other atricles ? or links ?
2- Can i creat multiple fiters ” for exemple” : i want to filter images by years 2011-2012-2013 and also another fiter by country France-Italy-Japan is this possible with your plugin ?
Thank you
1. Yes, using Recent Posts feature or even manually to any site. Same tab, new tab, lightbox as targets.
2. Sorry no but you can toggle the state of multiple filter buttons in the one filter set. The multiple filter sets you described are not available. The best bet would be create a page for each country then let filtering work just by the years.
Thank you i liked the plugin very easy to use. But i couldn’t find how i can creat the filter by year “ALL-2011-2012-2013” and i couldn’t do it can you help me.
Many thanks.
You can set filter order to custom and enter your filtering button names manually, comma separated in the next setting. So no others will show up (with automatic it catches all).
i’m sorry but maybe i’m not very used to those type of plugins.
i’ve installed the plugin created a page and i uploded images to the post
my images must send the user to links so i used on every image JIG Link option
i genertated this shortcode [justified_image_grid filterby=on filter_style=buttons filter_orderby=custom filter_custom_order=2011,2012,2013]
so how do i display the fitler “ALL-2011-2012-2013” in the front end and how do assign every image to a year ?
Many thanks
The shortcode is fine, it should display what you need if you have tags on the pictures, you need to tag the pictures. In the JIG general settings enable this:
WP image tags and categories Enable to use tags and categories for images in the Media Library. Very simple, if you need more, get a plugin like Media Library Assistant or Media Categories.
Then you’ll see a tags field for all images in the media library, to tag the pictures accordingly.
Hello,
I have Version 1.6.2 installed and I’d like to update to the newest version (because I need proper FooBox v2 support). I don’t see any upgrade options. So what I have to do? How do I uninstall the plugin to reinstall the newest version? What about my settings in the galeries? I don’t find any uninstall options, I am only able to deacitvate the plugin.
Deactivate then delete the old version. Then install the new. The settings are not uninstalled from the database unless you set it so in the General tab before deleting. So it’s safe to do it this way or just FTP over the files.
Hello,
I have a problem. I want my Gallery here: http://elisephotographymn.com/test-2/ to appear like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/ry85sc6kfauizmw/full.png. Like on its full width. What’s the code for that? Thanks for the help.
Add this to Custom CSS (JIG, General tab):
.wrap {
width: auto !important;
}
It depends on your theme to have that ability. This will alter it.
It worked. Thank you!
Great
Plese don’t forget to rate!
Hello,
Is it possible to add a youtube users favorite videos feed using JIG? I have tried with no luck. The feed I’m trying to use is
[justified_image_grid rss_url=http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/kgapero/favorites?alt=rss]
thanks!
If you just open this: http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/kgapero/favorites?alt=rss You can’t see anything even in the browser. If you manage to get it work in the browser first then there is a good chance it’ll work for JIG too!
thanks for the quick reply : )
Its weird cause I can see the feed on my browser
http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/kgapero/favorites?alt=rssDo you have any ideas why only i can see it? I’m using chrome
Perhaps your favorites playlist is not public. Try in a browser where you are not logged in.
Yes it is public, I have logged out and logged in through incognito mode in google chrome. Its ok, I guess maybe it could be a new feature some day. Don’t worry about it. I still love your plugin!
Weird, it shows empty for me in Firefox. Yeah RSS is not a 100% youtube integration, I may do a full direct youtube integration in the future like I did with Flickr.
Hey! My website for some reason is not syncing my facebook album. I uploaded images to my Facebook album, but it does not show up on my website?
http://www.miamitees.us/portfolio/How can i fix this problem??
The images show up, but the new images i add are not showing?
Set the facebook caching time to 0 or a very low number. By default it takes 1 hour to see the change on your site.
I did that and it still isn’t working. Its not loading the new images we upload into the Facebook album. Any other suggestions?
Disable or clear the cache of W3TC or WP Super Cache or similar plugins. Put CloudFlare on hold if you are using that.
Im not using any of those plugins.. What can i do to fix this issue? Can you have a look in the backend of the site to see what the issue is? I have to get this fixed ASAP as we’re on a deadline.
Sure contact me from my profile I’ll check that out.
Sent thanks!
Hi Firsh
Since I have not yet created any real galleries I would like to ask you this. I am only using NextGen because I wan’t to create galleries of images already on the server. Is there a smarter way to to that using JIG?
Thx. Claus
JIG doesn’t manage images. NextGEN would be a good bet to continue using, it has good gallery creation ways, better than original WP. JIG can be used as a frontend for NextGEN.
Hi, i have insert the Code
[justified_image_grid preset=2 title_field=off caption_field=off show_text_before=no show_text_after=no load_more=click load_more_text=”mehr Bilder laden…?” load_more_auto_width=on load_more_count_text=”noch count Fotos” load_more_limit=20”]
but the Plugin always shows 50 pictures. Can you please help me
What is your image source? This shows the images uploaded to the post. Do you have more than 50 added to the post? This should show 20 pics by default then show 20 more each time load more is clocked. What’s in the count text? You can try setting the limit setting to a high number either way. Or add more pictures to the post.
It shows about 50 pictures then on the button I can see 101 more to be loaded. Isn’t it how it should work?
No, in the beginning are too many pictures. I would like 10 or 20 pictures and then “load more”
Then set load more limit to 20 and then with every load more it will bring additional 20. You can’t set these differently.
Thanks for the reply but you can read it in the code above….. “load_more_limit = 20” but it does not work. The Plugin load 50 :-////
That’s interesting. If you’d like me to take a look at it, contact me from my profile.
Hey there, how can i get it to show a list of my Flickr Sets? (Ie Albums?) Or is there another way? I have only found how to insert one set so far.
Sorry no, it’s not yet supported but it’s on the to-do. It could be like Facebook overview.
Hi Fish,
I have some problems with JIG on my Website. Please see here.
http://fotologbuch.de/testseite-fuer-galerieThe lightboxes will not work correct. You can see 2 errors. Sometimes there is no lightbox coming up an (examples for different presets) an sometimes there ar 2 lightboxes (FooBox and Internal Lightbox).
I hope, You can help. Kind regards Frank Weber from Germany (sorry for the english)
Choose FooBox in JIG’s lightbox setting [in the shortcode]. Enable JIG support in FooBox settings.
If you chose a preset in the shortcode then you need to manually select foobox in the shortcode. As a preset selection in the shortcode brings its own lightbox setting and disregards your global settings. I think that’s why the default example works but the preset 1 and 3 is double. Preset 2 has colorbox. FooBox can sometimes disable other lightboxes.
Hi Fish,
thanks for the answer. At the moment I have the problem. That it run in theme DynamiX (fotologbuch.de) ok. In the Theme Avada (local environment MAMP, new website in preparation) It will not work correctly. I have checked the preferences in FooBox and JiG. He opens always a second lightbox.
Kind regards Frank Weber from Germany (sorry for the english)
Hi Fish,
additional remark from me. At the moment I have the following behavior. Theme AVADA version 3.2
Blogarticle: - picture of the article, 2 lightboxes - gallery of the article , 2 lightboxes
Portfolio: - picture of the article, 2 lightboxes - same gallery of the article (just copied from above, crtl+c and crtl+v), lightbox ist perfect
Preferences in Foobox
check – Enable FooBox for all image links in your WordPress site. This will exclude any items that are already included above
check – Fügen Sie volle Unterstützung für Justified Image Grid Galerien. Keine andere benutzerdefinierte Einstellungen nötig!
Kind regards Frank Weber from Germany ( sorry for the english)
Weird as I use avada too albeit an older version, the update process was breaking everything
Can you disable the Avada prettyPhoto lightbox? Since you are using FooBox anyway.
Also make sure you have this in the shortcodes: lightbox=foobox
Hi Fish,
Thanks. I have disabled the internal lightbox in Avada and now it is perfect.
Best regards Frank Weber
Great!
Does this support Google+ Photos RSS feed? Here is an example Google+ Photos RSS feed retreived from Google Picasa Web Albums: https://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user/111610298879833307525?alt=rss&kind=album
Sure, just tested and it loads them. Clicking on each thumb takes you to the album on picasa. E.g. the first photo links to: https://picasaweb.google.com/111610298879833307525/Fall2013 or opens in the lightbox and puts a link in the lightbox text.
Don’t expect a facebook-overview like automatic page generation in WP.
Hi Firsh,
I have only one more question (yeah right!). Could you look at the following post and tell me what you think is going on?
http://hiddenmesa.com/index.php/halloween-at-fort-wilderness-campground/I have PrettyPhoto lightbox selected, but it looks as if another lightbox is taking over. If I do a reload of the page I get the right lightbox up. I haven’t switched to the JetPack plugin yet in case that has anything to do with it. Also, I have all permissions for this plugin set at 0777 just to rule that out too.
It seems that the problem is that I have Photoswipe installed from my theme too. When I turn it off in the theme, JIG works correctly. But, my single images then don’t have Photoswipe. I would suppose I can figure out how to make them work too. I left it in its “broken” state for a bit longer in case anyone wants to look it over and comment.
So, Let’s disregard this whole thread. I set JIG to “I already have a lightbox plugin”, and it appears to be using my previously installed Photoswipe, so everything is playing well together now.
Great. You could disable the photoswipe in the theme and activate it in JIG (if you don’t need the theme lightbox anywhere else). Otherwise yes that’s the way to go. Sorry for the late reply. Other users can’t comment on your thread
Thanks for the reply Firsh. It turns out that I need the Theme lightbox to display the individual images in current posts, at least until I can figure out how to work around it. In the meantime, I’ll keep doing it this way. Once I figure out how to properly display single images in existing posts without having to modify every individual image, I’ll switch the lightboxes around and use JIG exclusively. Just takes me a bit to work through all this.
Great, whatever works best for you!
Hi,
I have a problem with JIG and FooBox together. It opens two lightboxes. I have also bought FooBox Lightbox plugin and it is activate in the preferences in JIG and in the preferences in Foobox. When I’m opening a gallery the FooBox Lightbox will comes up and it looks perfect. But when I close the FooBox then there is the original included Lightbox from JIG also open. I think there will be open two lightboxes (one too much)
Kind regards (and sorry for the english) Frank Weber from Germany
I’ve replied on your other thread, please check that out. Sorry for the late reply. You need to set foobox in the shortcode.
Hi, the plugin is working, but it breaks fully my W3C validation.
I get an
“& did not start a character reference. (& probably should have been escaped as &.)”
for any picture like
…picturename.jpg&h=90&q=90&f=.jpg” alt=..…
also I get
“Element link is missing required attribute property.” …-image-grid/css/prettyphoto.css?ver=3.1.5.1.7.1’ type=’text/css’ media=’all’ />
and
“Element style not allowed as child of element body in this context. (Suppressing further errors from this subtree.)” <style type=’text/css’>
Some tip? Without plugin I get a perfect html5 validation.
Thanks
Are you Lionel and contacted me via email? If so let’s continue there.
No sorry, I’m not Lionel
So we should start here
Someone else had the exact some problem. I can send you a latest beta that has the & problem fixed.
The other two is necessary because JIG includes the styles and scripts only when needed, after the shortcode. Otherwise it would load them on every page, unnecessarily. I’ll add and AJAX compatibiltiy that will load all of these anyway, regardless the shortcode. The style tag will still need to be there, so I don’t think it’ll get validated.
The CSS include doesn’t miss the required property, it’s just in the ‘wrong place’ according to the validator.
Hi Firsh
First off all allow me to apologize for all the questions, It’s just that every time I solve something, a new issue arises :/
On my test page http://marilynscloset.dk/outfit-of-the-day/ it seems there is a z-index problem with the menusystem. The gallery is visible even though the menu is rolled down.
Is there an easy way to fin this?
Thx Claus
SocialGallery is doing that apparently.
Try this into Custom CSS:
.sgs-image-wrap-jig {
position: static !important;
z-index: 100 !important;
}
Not sure what functionality the original rules stand for.
Hi Firsh
I am having all kinds of problems authorizing the instagram app.
When I try from the plug in I get this: Generic error, most like SSL problem.
And when I try doing it manually I get this: The state does not match. You may be a victim of CSRF.
I am a little bewildered about what to do?
Thanks Claus
Check with your hosting if you are enabled to use sessions in PHP. Not having that could result in the error.
Hi Firsh
My hosting company said that they have sessions enabled. Any other ideas?
Thx Claus
Have you checked the SSL certificate thing in my second comment?
Hi Firsh
To the best of my (unfortunately very) limited knowledge. My hosting company told me that they updated CURL to 1.33. I made this if that makes you wiser. http://marilynscloset.dk/phpinfo.phpOPther then that I don’t know. Sorry.
Claus
Go to the plugin tab and editor, select JIG and justified-image-grid.php. Find using Ctrl+F the 2 lines that contain the word VERFIYPEER and remove the two slashes // from each. If you save and the plugin starts working you are good to go and the reason is the certificates. What happens if you send this to your hosting’s support, do they have some info about the article being linked to? http://codecanyon.net/item/justified-image-grid-premium-wordpress-gallery/2594251/faqs/16209
Hi Firsh
I removed the // and maybe something happened. I can now attach a facebook page (problem is I didn’t try that before removing the slashes). When I try to add a facebook user I get an error. Unfortunately it’s in danish, but the essens is that the link isn’t allowed by the App settings. I can’t try instagram right now. I get an 500 server error on their site right now.
When I forward that article to my hosting they say they’ve updated their curl to version 1.33. I guess I’ll have to ask the about something more specific
Claus
Here is the error msg from facebook
Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App’s settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App’s domains.
You need to match your domain in the FB app with the one that you are using JIG on.
Is it possible to disable the description for the images (in the grid – not in the lightbox)
Yes go to captions tab and set caption to off.
