Hello Firch, I have just bought the plugin and I already really enjoy it. Thanks a lot for the work. I only have a slight problem with the Facebook social button “Like” in prettyphoto (advanced deepliking is enabled) : it does not seem to show on facebook aftewards. I have also tried for Twitter, Pinterest & G+, and all work like a charm. Any idea of what is going wrong ? Here is an example of a gallery implemented with JIG on my website : http://sfphotos.fr/galeries/galeries-best-of-2013/
They only show up in the activity log, check if it’s there, it’s there for me! You should see the thumbnail.
Ooops. Ok thank you for the quick (&perfect) answer.
Yes it is in the activity log. It’s a pity though it does not show up in the timeline
Is it possible to have the share button instead in prettyphoto ? (I wish I can avoid to buy foobox)
Anyway, thanks a lot for your time & patience
Sorry only with foobox currently! I think it can be set up on facebook what’s allowed on your timeline.
Hi, great plugin, thx!
I’m trying to get the preset 6 w/o desaturization, however, turning specialfx off, the images have rounded borders. I would like flush images without rounded corners though. I use
[gallery preset=6 ids="163,129,173,167,158,128,138,155" row_height=100 max_rows=0 width_mode=fixed custom_width=400 margin=”0 auto” link_target=off]
as a base, then
[gallery preset=6 ids="163,129,173,167,158,128,138,155" row_height=100 max_rows=0 custom_width=400 link_target=off overlay_color=#fc9 overlay_opacity=0.3 specialfx=off]
to unset desaturization as set per preset 6 and set another overlay color. Result: rounded corners for the images. Also tested with “specialfx_type=blur specialfx_blend=0”, no rounded image corners, while “specialfx_type=blur specialfx_blend=0.3” e.g. results in rounded corners.
How can I avoid rounded corners? Thanks!
There is no round corners of round borders feature in the plugin, so I think they are added by your theme or another plugin. If you send me a link to where this happens I can tell where in your CSS is the problem.
/* Add fancy borders to all WordPress-added images but not things like badges and icons and the like */
border-radius: 3px;
box-shadow: 0 1px 4px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);
for (amongst others)
.entry-content img where the gallery ended up. I changed the according css to no borders (and shadows) in my child theme and it now works flawlessly:
border-radius:0;
-moz-border-radius:0;
-webkit-border-radius:0;
-moz-box-shadow: none;
-webkit-box-shadow: none;
Thanks again!
No problem!
Hi man. keep up the good work! a few questions:
-1 I recently started showing my blog posts in grids. www.tiboine.com the problem is that my second last blog post isnt shown anymore. it was in the grid the first days, but now it´s gone from the grid.
-2 is it possible to limit the blog posts showing up in the grid?
-3 as of now there is an odd number of blog posts in the grid, making the last blog post span over 2 grids. that is cool. But is it possible to make the last blog post (the top one) to span the full width? A kind offeatured style.
-4 Is it possible to use google+ albums and 500px as a source? like instagram and flickr. I know that 500px has an api for that. Didnt JIG support that earlier?
-5 when using big thumbs relative to the width of the grid, pictures gets cropped. so is it possible to prioritize the proportions before resizing?
-6 thanks
and last, note to self: hashtags in comments here deletes the text
1. By default there is a limit of 10 recent posts. Increase the limit by entering e.g. the number 50 into the limit setting. Or your second last blog post may not have a featured image, it’s needed to make it show up (in the next version you’ll be able to specify a placeholder image).
2. Yes, with the limit setting.
3. No at least not yet. I plan on “1 row 1 image” blogstyle layout mode and “first image spanning over 2 rows” mode but this could be a nice addition! For now you can place 2 grids on top of each other, with different style. And use the “sticky” feature of WP to feature the first post. For the bottom grid you can specifically tell that you don’t want to see sticky posts. Then for the first you set it to only use stickies. For now.
4. 500px yes via RSS and not by API (not really necessary), see the RSS tab for examples. Google+ no.
5. You can enable ‘disable cropping’ setting (general tab) so it’ll resize more, without cropping.
6. No problem.
ah. limit image count. I was looking for blog posts
the missing blog post showed up in the grid a few days ago. it had, and still has a featured image. any clue what could have broken it?
Sorry I don’t know without seeing it in the admin. Is it gone now? Is it not published or published privately?
here is the blog post that was, and is supposed to be number 2 in the grid http://tiboine.com/2013/09/13/en-tur-til-doraldalen-ved-rondane-nasjonalpark/
and this is the shortcode I use for it [justified_image_grid caption=fixed mobile_caption=fixed recent_posts=yes recents_description=date]
ok, seems like JIG doesnt like norwegian characters, æøå. I removed those from the filename, and now it shows up in the grid
Yeah the image filenames should only contain normal characters, the problem arises from time to time. I think it’s actually timthumb that can’t handle them.
I looked a FAQ and don’t know enough about jquery to know if that is the problem. Thank you for the help.
It’s not because of WP 3.6.1, it’s because of NextGEN 2, it seems to me that you updated everything at once. The old JIG v1.5 is not compatible with the new NG, so please update JIG to v1.6.2 and everything will work again. The compatibility had to be re-done as you can see in v1.6 changelog here, it’s a wall of text just for NextGEN: http://justifiedgrid.com/updates-and-changelog/
That worked. Thank you so much.
No problem!
[23:29:16] The authentication of current user: null is successful. You can choose from no albums so far, start adding some. It will expire in 59 days 23 hours which is on 24/11/2013 (00:29:26).
how can i sold this problem ?
Replied to your mail! http://codecanyon.net/item/justified-image-grid-premium-wordpress-gallery/2594251/faqs/16209 and check openSSL and sessions support with your hosting.
Hello,
I wanted to add a tumblr & email icon along with the other already on prettyphoto.
How can I do so?
Thank you!
It’s in your downloaded package, jquery.prettyphoto.custom.js line 103 but it’s not as simple as copy paste sorry so I can’t tell you how, step by step.
Hi. I’m working on a fluid layout, and was wondering if it’s possible to have one vale for the row height and another one for small devices, like using media queries or something.
Right now, if I scale down the browser, the images gets cropped on the sides, but it keeps the same height.
Thanks
No but in the next version you’ll have the ability to set a different row height and deviation for devices. It’s using device detection and not media queries.
Hello Firsh,
Love this plugin!! Several image-galleries are already shown on my website. But…, now I need your help.
I can’t figure out how to setup a gallery with Affiliate links/codes. Each image/product I choose from the affiliate-program I want together be shown in a gallery.
I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks, Belinda
Hi,
what is your image source and what kind of affiliate program is it? Would you like to put custom links on the images?
Thanks for your fast reply!! The affiliate-program is LinkShare. An example of a link is this:
This is a link for an individual product. This product (and lots of others) I would like to set up in a gallery. Where do I put this link to set up a gallery.
Again I hope you understand my english… Thanks!
Oooh, I am sorry. I did not know the image would appear… How can I show you the link without showing the image????
Put this part of the link http://click.linksynergy.com/link?id=kaxu0W3iq3k&offerid=289742.100031&type=2&murl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lanecrawford.com%2Fpdp%2FWIW429 into the JIG Link field. It’s where you set up the images’ title.
You are the Best. It works. Thank you very much!!
Great
Please don’t forget to rate, thanks!
Great plugin, thanks! As a feature request is it possible to auto tag images based on the file’s meta data, during import?
So, for example, if an image has already a keyword built into the file’s meta data can that keyword become an image tag.
This would be a great feature and save a lot of time.
JIG itself doesn’t manage images, nor importing anything. For that you could use NextGEN or WP images (I think there are plugins that do it for you). JIG can read WP images or NextGEN. I plan on adding native EXIF support however, but it’s not in the form or actually tagging the images, but displaying the data from the file (or WP database as they are read during uploading anyway).
HI. Are you doing something funny to this app? Now when I log into wordpress, I see the videos coming through through the instagram feed. But when I log out of wordpress, they disappear and my instagram feed looks incomplete. Help!
I couldn’t do something funny even I wanted to, it doesn’t work like that. The Instagram APP you set up is yours only. Do all images disappear when you log out or do a few remain? Is it consistent what’s getting left out or random? Can you show me a link where you are getting this behavior?
Hi. I just emailed you the link plus my log in credentials. When I’m logged in, the instagram videos populate the grid and everything looks fine. However when I log out, the videos then disappear and the grid looks incomplete/sloppy. Can you please look? Thank you.
Looks solved, it was needed to empty the wp supercache plugin’s cache.
Looks like I celebrated too soon. It’s acting weird again and I’ve tried playing around w/ the randomnized thumbnail width. I even deleted that wp supercache. Nothing worked.
Please help as my client now wants to create a fan based page w/ this same plugin so it has to be 100% beforehand.
What’s the problem? You got 125 randomize width in the global setting and it gets applied to the pictures. You won’t get a new random width for each picture everytime you refresh, else you’d end up with an infinite number of cached thumbnails. One image has one random width and it sticks with it. If you wish to alter the ranomization, enter a different number and the images will pick a ‘new’ random width.
No yesterday after you fixed it, the instagram videos populated the grid. Today they don’t and the grid looks incomplete again.
I just clicked clear caches in the wp supercache plugin. The cache folder is not actually in wp supercache plugin folder and it might be still on your server, accessible via FTP.
i’m now confused. i deleted the wp supercache plugin per your instructions after what i saw today. It’s not there anymore and the plugin is still acting strange
That page shows me the exact same images logged in or logged out, can you describe the problem, what do you mean it’s acting strange?
Instagram videos are not supported by JIG, only the photos. In the next version the videos will appear by their thumbnail and upon clicking them, Instagram will open with the video – as the Instagram player page can’t be opened in the lightbox as per Instagram security restrictions. With a video player in the iframe of the lightbox it would be possible but that’s planned for a later release.
If you saw Instagram video thumbnails in the grid, that must have been something else as I filter for only ‘photos’.
I fixed it. I played around with the settings and set it to “hide last incomplete row” and set the order to random. All good now. I can’t wait until the IG videos will be supported. Thank you again!
Okay, sounds good!
Thank you for a beautiful plugin. Can you please help: I can’t make either Facebook nor Instagram source work – follow the instructions perfectly but get “Check your redirect URI setting” error when adding user. Thank you
I think you are the first one to get that error, but it seems to me that you got this from Instagram? In the instruction on that tab, there is the correct redirect URL in bold, did you add that to your Instagram APP? Without spaces on either side etc. What error do you get for Facebook? Is it the same? Contact me from my profile for more info.
thank you. message sent
HI, Very great and useful plugin. May i know is it possible to import the photo from facebook fanpage? I just want to integrate many fanpage into my WP site. But i am not the host of the fanpage. Do i must have the permission to take photo from fanpage? Many thanks.
You can pull albums from any public page, you may want to ensure no copyright is broken or ask its owner, but the plugin can do it. The photos won’t be copied but served straight from facebook. The thumbnails will be cached on your server though.
Great, thank you very much for your advice. I will ask the owner for the permission. Thanks again for your great plugin.
Cool!
[justified_image_grid ng_pics=229,239,238]
[justified_image_grid ng_pics=237,236,235]
[justified_image_grid ng_pics=234,233,232]
[justified_image_grid ng_pics=231,230,229]
however the set isn’t centered on the page.
Why not just put all image ids into one single shortcode? There is not really such thing as columns, everything will fit automatically due to the nature of the grid.. But you can play around with row height, height deviation, aspect ratio and ‘disable cropping’. If you don’t wish the gallery to take all available width, then enter
0 autoto the ‘margin around the gallery’ settings and set widht mode to fixed and enter a fixed width.
i’ll try that.. coz they need to be in a 3×4 shape… so shold i wrap the shortcode in a fixed width div?
yep.. div wrap worked and centered….
<div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 500px;" />
You don’t need to trick with a wrapper element, all these are included in the plugin.
[justified_image_grid width_mode=fixed custom_width=500 margin=”0 auto”]
works great… ta.
Great!
Hi !
I was wondering if it’s possible to set a fixe width for the images ? I mean having all at the same width ( like squares )
Thanks you in advance for your answer
Priscillia
1to the aspect ratio setting. You may also want to enable the “disable cropping” setting too. The image width won’t be fixed as it needs to be dynamic for the responsive feature but the images will keep the cropped to 1:1 look.
Awesome ! Thanks a lot !
pre-purchase question
is there an option to have an overlay icon on the images like in http://www.stonerdays.com/
please let me know so I can purchase immediately
Thanks
Yes that site is using JIG actually. You got it from here? http://justifiedgrid.com/see-it-in-action/ (last)
By default it’s just a magnifier icon but you can add any image by URL. http://justifiedgrid.com/preset-11-magnifier-blur/ It’ll be the same for all images in a gallery though. You can add different icon to different galleries, but not for individual images (in case you wanted them different).
Hi, I am having a small issue with the plugin.
With my theme I have to set a fixed width for the grid. I also have it set to still be responsive. That all works when I resize my browser window, as the grid moves with the responsive theme and changes as it should.
The problem I am having is when loading the site with the themes width smaller then its full size. The grid will get cut off on the right. Now if I click load more images (if the button is visable) or if on a phone, loading an image and then hitting back, fixes the issue.
Is there a way to fix this issue?
By the way here is a link to my site so you can see the issue that I am having: http://www.sethlinefsky.com
Thanks!
I see, what happens if you set no width at all? Do you get the element is invisible error? In your case you could call the
$('. justified-image-grid').data('justifiedImageGrid').createGallery('resize');
when opening a section, that ‘fixes’ it like ‘load more’ or resizing the window fixes it. The problem is that the section that holds JIG is initially hidden so it doesn’t really have a widht so JIG doesn’t know how wide it should be.
Yea, I get the invisible/not enough room error. How do I call the above code and where?
Sorry I don’t know your theme so I can’t really help where would you need to add it, but it’s a javascript line and you’d likely want it to be called when you click or expand the gallery section.
$('.portfolio_section').on('click',function(){
$('. justified-image-grid').data('justifiedImageGrid').createGallery('resize');
});
into your theme’s js, in a document ready part.
I added it to the header of theme, but no change in behavior for the grid.
Ok try it like:
jQuery('.portfolio_section').on('click',function(){
jQuery('.justified-image-grid').data('justifiedImageGrid').createGallery('resize');
});
That fixed it! Thank you for such awesome and quick support! Now just wondering, is this fix something that can be added to the plugin so that it works out of the box without the need to add any javascript to sites?
I’m looking forward to improve it but currently there is no other way. I can’t know what kind of invisible element is going to host the plugin beforehand. And I don’t know which element’s click should trigger it I mean the code I posted is specific to your site and won’t for other people so it’s not universal. If you are not using tabs or accordions, it just works fine. The custom width settings were a step toward making this work, previously all you had was the invisible or too thin error. It’s now compatible with most tabs plugins but responsive tabs are tough
Indeed. One other quick question, is there a way in the settings to make the thumbnails load at different sizes so that it creates a more random layout then what it is now with basically just a grid except for a couple lines that have a tall picture instead of a wide picture?
Yup, http://justifiedgrid.com/aspect-ratio-randomize-width/ see the Instagram example.
It’s the “randomize width” setting, General tab, it’s the opposite of aspect ratio. The look you’ll have is similar to what you see in the preset examples. Though I manually cropped them back then because the plugin didn’t have this feature in the past. But it’s been asked for so there is this setting (“randomize width”).
When using WordPress image sources, can you specify a range of id’s vs. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,etc… like use ids 34-284 for example so I don’t have to list each one and separate them with a comma?
EDIT: and/or show all media not attached to a post/page?
Sorry you can’t select the pictures with a range but you can select them by tag or category if that’s easier.
Also there is no feature like ‘show unattached’, but again you could use a tag or category on all those pictures.
You can enable tagging and categories on WP images using a setting on the General tab of JIG, in additional tools and utilities.
What would you like to accompish?
No worries, I was able to use [justified_image_grid id=*] to show all images. They just have a lot of images that aren’t categorized very well and wanted a way to show all images. Most aren’t attached to a post or page and will take some time to get it all straight. This was just a fast way to get all images to show while the library gets cleaned up.
Cool, I didn’t know that trick
If you are having trouble attaching or unattaching images from and to posts, find the helper tool or the 3rd party plugin that does that, in the General -> additional tools and utilities.
Hi, I want to use the Flickr gallery but I don’t manage to show only the sets(galleries) without the photos inside the sets. This is easily done with other Flickr plugins where I simply select from a dropdown menu what should I show in my gallery, sets or photos inside of a certain set. I want to achieve the following behavior using this plugin that I bought: I want to have a page with all the sets, and when you click a set, then that set should open in full screen with all the photos in it. Is this something achievable ?
Thanks!
I think you mean something like the Facebook overview feature? http://justifiedgrid.com/facebook-overview/ That kind of thing (sets in a set) is not available for Flickr. The plugin can do what you can see here: http://justifiedgrid.com/flickr/ you can select which single set per gallery instance you wish to display in the Shortcode Editor.
There is no full screen feature in the plugin at least not yet.
Heyho,
can i add some more space between the rows. For example additional 10px to the adjusted “Spacing between the thumbnails”? So it will only affect the rows not the space between the thumbs.
You can add this to the Custom CSS:
.jig-imageContainer {
margin-bottom: 10px !important;
}
I love your plugin, but I think it might be causing issues with a site that I built. There are issues uploading pictures and sometimes the images don’t even show up in the grid. I don’t know if there is any way you can check this out. For instance, http://meghanhemstra.com/learn/ has 18 images uploaded to it, but it’s only showing 12… Do you know if there are any plugins that are wanting to cause a fight with yours
.
If you switch JIG back to the regular WP gallery, will all 18 photos show up?
