Full screen or popup searchbar not working with woodmart theme. also it shows another widget at the bottom of theme after selecting full screen search bar. can i get any help? after clicking on search icon should work as theme default

Hi,

I have to look at this directly to be able to tell what exactly is the issue. From the screenshots I see a few search instances, but everything depends on your exact setup and how the theme is configured.

I suggest opening a support ticket so I can see the exact setup.

For 10k indexed products site, is that ok? or i can improve the speed?

Performance statistics Search queries tracked: 138272 Average request runtime: 0.594 s Average request peak memory usage: 7.11 MB Last request runtime: 1.126 s Last request peak memory usage: 46 MB

Hi,

It’s up to many factors, the number of posts is usually not the biggest issue.

I would make sure you are using the index table engine, and very importantly that the index table is actually activated, also making sure that exact matching is disalbed – as it will automatically bypass the index. Not using any front-end filters also has a huge performance impact.

Ok Moreover is that possible to shows his recently searched items when a users click on the search bar?

I’m afraid no, that information is not stored mostly because of GDPR regulations.

Hi, I’m trying to prevent your plugin output search results based on a certain parent category, its subcategories, and related content. For some reason the search results show archive posts but then restricts accessing the post. Is there a way to restrict the archive post results as well please?

Hi,

Sure! Taxonomy term based exclusions will do the trick.

The postman links are broken on this link in documentation : https://knowledgebase.ajaxsearchpro.com/other/rest-api

Hi,

Thanks, corrected. Here is the correct link.

can plugin distunguish btw numerical and alphabet number? right now it doesn’t distinguish btw “zero to one” vs “0 to 1”

It would be very very difficult, as it depends on the language and how big the number is. For example 1 342 012 should be made to “One million threehundred and fourty two thousand and twelve”, and not “one” “three” “four” etc.. I’m not sure this is possible without the usage of a LLM AI like chatGPT.

can we do this for 0-9 ? so 3 is considered as three, 4 is four etc,

Maybe, via a custom code it might be doable, but I’m not sure. You can open a support ticket if you want to and I can take a closer look.

The request failed. Please check your connection. status 500 . We are getting this error from last many updates. latest wp and php 8.3

Hi,

The function refers to a missing file on the system. If this happens often, then it could indicate a faulty or corrupted file system.

Reinstalling the plugin will very likely solve it. If you see these kinds of errors after plugin updates then there might be a file system issue somewhere.

All the best, Ernest

We’re trying to figure it out. Meanwhile another issue is we cannot see the custom fields in relavence priority list. Relavence is not showing weight of custom fields.

It’s the “Terms weight” option, it applies to the custom field weight as well.

Hi, anyway to change h3 to p or span tags in ajax live search:

.asp_content h3 on list of the search..

Hi,

The only way to do that is by editing the core files I’m afraid. May I ask why though? If it’s only for styling reasons, then it’s probably much easier to simply apply a custom CSS. Let me know.

Hi, I saw your search in your homepage at https://ajaxsearchpro.com/ and I like the style. My question is is there a template or import file so we can duplicate the style?

Hi,

Yes – of course, it is included as a template. You can choose it under the theme setting (Rounded Dark Blue Isotopic).

Hello,

I use your plugin with strict string searches in the portfolio contents. It works perfectly and I thank you for the quality of your work.

I would like to make a small improvement. I would like to know if it would be possible for the search engine to interpret spaces and as hyphens. And vice versa. On the same principle that “é” are interpreted as “e” for example.

So I could get the same result for “villers-lès-nancy” and for “villers les nancy”. You can test this string in the engine on this page: https://www.foretdici.com/les-regions/foret-dici-lorraine/

I specify that if this modification is possible, I am ready to pay for it or te renew my license. Just tell me if it is possible please.

Thank you very much!

If the purchase was a very long time ago (before support extensions), then that is the way. If you visit the product page and see an Renew Support button, then that’s the way – if no renew button, then only new license is possible. After that however you will be able to renew support for much cheapter in the future if needed.

Thank you so much for this great custom code who works perfectly. And what a responsiveness !!!!! Perfect!!! :)

You are very welcome :)

If you like the plugin and have not rated already, feel free to leave a rating on your codecanyon downloads page and on the wordpress plugin repository, it’s greatly appreciated.

Hi, is it possible to create step by step search. For example – user is searching for hotels in Berlin, next step search will ask, if they will travel with car or plane, next step would be how many nights, etc. Is it possible? Conditional Logic Search … Thanks for answer

Hi,

I’m afraid that is not possible unfortunately.

Best regards,

Anyway, thanks for the reply and good luck with the plugin.

Thank you very much!

In the last update, it doesn’t index titles. Please fix this.

Hi, I’m trying it out but it doesn’t work well.

For example, if I put a single “” in the search, it does it well, but if I cheat it and put another “” in another place, it searches for various data that don’t correspond.

The same thing happens to me with the .

?

It is definitely correct though. I just tested it just to be sure. It’s a simple regular expression to remove anything but letters, adding however many special characters will not change the output. Are you sure the core is actually correctly placed? It would explain the issue.

Hello, I am working on a website with 250,000 posts.

I would like to use Ajax Search Pro to index and search this site. I read somewhere that most wordpress search plugins only work for websites with a maximum of 20,000 posts.

Please, is this also the case also with Ajax Search Pro?

If not, can Ajax Search Pro be used to index my website with 250,000 posts?

Thanks for your reply in advance.

Hi,

There is no such limit for any search plugin, any search plugin will work with any number of posts – so that information is not correct.

If the server is properly equipped to deal with that amount of data, then it is not going to be an issue – there is no upper limit on how many posts the plugin can deal with. I have seen installations with over 500k products, where it was working all right. It only depends on how well the server can handle it.

Hi there,

Tried to send in a general contact form, but it failed…

We’ve purchased at seven Ajax Search Pro licenses. Kind of swear by it on our bigger developments. We’re running into an issue where some licenses are disconnecting automatically… or maybe something we are doing wrong.

That’s not a major problem. The issue we are having is once we go to reactivate a license, we don’t know which one to use, because there is no way of knowing which of our licenses are not in use. Do you have a list of our licenses and what sites they are connected to? Or is there somewhere I can see this within my account? Any of this would certainly help.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you very much for letting me know.

I only know of a single case where this happened, but unfortunately they couldn’t give us access to their website for us to test and debug where the issue might be.

It’s very likely an edge case (firewall etc..), but I would love to debug it. Please contact us via support, or this form, or via our profile. If you can give us temporary access to a site where this regularly happens and we can replicate it, then it is very likely we can resolve it and patch it for the upcoming release.

Please also send us the license codes and I will list all the websites associated with it. I’m working on a feature in the support system where you will be able to register your purchase codes and see where they belong to – it may take a few more weeks to finish though.

Best regards,
Ernest Marcinko

Thank you for the reply. I just sent you a general inquiry through that other form you linked to, with seven purchase codes.

Thanks! I will assist you soon.

Hi,

I have a woocommerce store with 100k skus. will this search be able to handle a store this size without timing out?

Hi,

The number of products does not matter to the plugin, it only matters for your server. If it’s properly scaled for that amount of data, then it should not be an issue at all. The biggest databases I have seen were around 500k products and worked all right – that being said, they had a decent back-end server running.

I’m using Ajax Search Pro with BuddyBoss and have encountered an issue where member results are being returned as https://example.com/author/username/ instead of https://example.com/members/username/.

I’ve temporarily resolved this by setting up a redirection in the Redirection plugin using the following:

Source URL: ^/author/(.*)/$ Target URL: /members/$1/ While this redirection works, I would prefer to avoid using redirections if possible. Is there a setting within Ajax Search Pro that I can adjust to correct the member results directly without needing the redirection?

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi,

Yes! You can choose the BuddyPress URL source under the Advanced Options -> Content & Fields panel.

Hi, I seem to have an issue with sku search. With some product variations it is fine and will allow a full sku search. With other product variations you can only search to the 1st 4 characters, so you could define a product group, the following 6 characters it will not search that deep so you cannot search to an individual sku.

Hi,

This sounds like a configuration issue to me. There is no difference in searching different character counts. I recommend opening a support ticket so I can check your config.

Best regards,
Ernest Marcinko

Hello,

I would like to report 3 issues please:

1. Your “Show More Results…” feature does not work at the moment, though the settings are right.

2. Your product license key is not saved in the user settings and need to be typed in the input field continuously each time to allow updates.

3. Every plugin setting page is wider than the screen. The “ENABLE ACCESSIBILITY” box is too wide and causes display issue and unconformability when using on Wordpress with Right To left languages like Hebrew, Arabic and others. I have many running plugins and yours is the only one that has that issue, and it is not being fixed for years already. Kindly fix this for your customers. It is very annoying to drag your screens back to view the whole screen after each update.

Thank you.

Hi,

1. I suggest opening a support ticket, it seems to work all right on our side, no other reports of similar issue either. It might be related to a very specific setup of a 3rd party conflict.

2. The license key is stored locally on your website database. Make sure it’s not rolled back or the options table is not altered. If you experience this multiple times, then I might be able to help you debug via support if you want to.

3. Thank you, we will look into that for sure :)

I also have the problem that since the last update (version 4.26.14) the Ajax Search Pro in combination with WP Rocket causes an error. Can I downgrade to the previous version to solve the problem until you provide an update? Where can I find the older versions?

Hi,

We can’t upload previous versions here I’m afraid, but the WP Rocket team has already contacted us and we are in conversation. Hopefully they can let us know a possible workaround and I will implement it as soon as possible. If I’m getting an answer today, then it’s going to be patched by tomorrow.

If you need a temporary fix, please make the following change:
  • 1. Open up the wp-content/plugins/ajax-search-pro/includes/classes/Hooks/FiltersManager.php
  • 2. Replace it’s contents with this
  • 3. Add asp-(.*).js as exclusion in wp-rocket, just to be sure

This will resolve the problem until the recommendation from wp-rocket.

Best regards,
Ernest Marcinko

Since the last Update I can´t use ASP together with WPRocket. This will broke my complete website.

Adding the asp exclusion to the Excluded Javascript Files input does also not resolve the problem. And I have already the newest version 4.26.14 installed.

WPRocket wrote me, that other users have the same problem. They wrote me: “You could instead opt to just share all of the following with the support team for Ajax Search Pro: Based on the error, it appears they are passing the string value asp-(.*).js to our filter to exclude their scripts from being combined.”

So is there any update on this?

Hi Ernest. How long does it take to provide a fixed new version of ASP?

It’s going to be released in a couple of hours after testing.

The update had been released, 4.26.15 should resolve the issue. Make sure to clear all layers of cache, check your wp-rocket settings to see if everything is fine, and hopefully all should be okay after that.

Ernest Marcinko

Hi

I want to add a filter which will search for by tags – however I want it so that visitors don’t have to type in anything and they can just select filters and it will narrow their search down. How can this be achieved?

fnhc

fnhc Purchased

hello can I get some help?

Hi,

Sorry, I missed the comment notification.

You can do this by default, via creating a tag filter. I also recommend this configuration to have the search settings visible at all times. You can check the generic filters documentation for more details.
