The page containing JIG was fine up until at least yesterday morning. Now it is not displaying at all after the page loader animation runs. I’ve restored a days old version of the web site and the web page is still blank. Disabling the JIG plugin resolves the issue. What might the problem be?

Do you know what has changed on the site since then? I have PHP 8.3.8 WP 6.6.1 and same JIG and it works fine, it must be conflicting with something.
Thanks for your reply. I rolled the site back to pre-problem and the problem persisted, which is odd. If I leave the JIG shortcode in the page and disable the JIG plugin, or delete the JIG shortcode from the page and leave the JIG plugin enabled, everything is fine. I will look into it more and get back to you if I can’t the solution.

Sorted. Seems to be a compatibility problem with PHP version 8, which the web server recently started running by default. Doesn’t work on any of the available version 8s on the server (up to 8.4), but works fine on the version 7s. You mentioned that you are running PHP 8.3.8 without any issues, so perhaps the problem is related to particular JIG configurations/parameters/settings used. If you’d like to look into this, I can send you a backup of the settings or give you access to the WP dashboard.

It would be helpful. Or just to see the nature of the error, which is hidden from the frontend. I’d install a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/debug-log-manager/ with which it’s possible to see what it was.
I use the latest official Docker image for WP from https://hub.docker.com/_/wordpress and PHP 8.4 isn’t a thing yet. It’ll be released in November.
You can also do a settings export/backup, then a reset, to see if that changes anything. If not, then you can import the backed up settings so you don’t lose them.
I have to push an update now due to a vulnerability but I’m interested in fixing this other error too, if not for yet another update on top of this, then as a beta I could send it to you if it needs changes from my part.
Hi, I think JIG is causing a critical error on my site. The error leaves once I deactivate. This is also not allowing me to publish or update pages when I add a JIG shortcode for any of the grids.

And we had following settings of JIG set as “YES” <<Add images to WordPress SEO XML Sitemap>>
And this is adding following two lines in Yoast SEO sitemap at the top of <?xml version=”1.0” encoding=”UTF-8”?> line.

We have set this option to “NO” as of now to avoid this error. But you would like to look into this matter to resolve this in the next update. Thank you.
Hi, those lines seem to be coming from another plugin/theme. Check if no other plugins place assets in the sitemap: try disabling the other plugin, and see if the problem persists.

We have issue with showing multiple galleries in tabs with 1 thumbnail then opening rest on WP Real Media Library. The whole page is very slow.
Is there some kind of way calling galleries over ajax or lazy loading them?
If you are showing 1 image with the rest of them only available in the lightbox, even with multiple JIGs in tabs, then lazy loading (the thumbnails) won’t help much (it’s there as “infinite scroll” though).
What you experience is probably the putting together of the list of gallery items, that happens once on server side per uncached page load. If this was AJAX’d then that likely would not work well with caching plugins, but the current implementation does. If you have such a plugin, test the page while being logged out.
Or if you currently does not have a caching plugin, I recommend having one, and that will basically create a static HTML of the page with all image references in it prepared, saving some time that the server would otherwise take to craft the page (and gallery list for JIG).
Since the update to the latest version i can not get pictures from facebook. I recveive “The authentication of current user: null is successful. You can choose from no albums because there is no album data returned by the API.” when trying to connect to it. Any ideas why?

Thanks! You need to choose and app type now, and when accessing pages, the profile is unavaiable and vice-versa. When changing apps you need to re-add the profiles/pages.
I’ve migrated my site to another server and removed the license number from the old site and entered it on the new site. However, 18 hours later and it has not released to the new site. I’ve double checked that the license number is removed from the old site. Please advise. Thanks!

I’ve been using your excellent plugin for a year with zero issues; however, suddenly none of the lightboxes are centered on the screen; i.e., they all popup and stay 3/4 below the fold (browser bottom). There will not be that wide gaps between pictures, and realigning them takes some calculations so fitting them may be a bit slower when you resize the window. The last row may be orphan, or if the last images are “expendable” an incomplete last row can be sacrificed by getting hidden so the grid is a better uniform block.
You can control how small the images can get, but the “disable cropping” setting is generally recommended and will allow the rows to be as short as 50px in the vertical dimension.
The plugins has Spanish translation and works with WPBakery.

No way that I know of. It would require supporting HTML content but that lightbox is only for images.
After the last photo PS loops around. Detecting the last photo, closing the lightbox programmatically, and triggering an Elementor popup is technically possible with custom code, but from the visitor’s point of view it would be unexpected.

In the same code I’ve modify class name to jQuery(’.jig-filterButtons’).appendTo(”.jig-filter”) for easily to use and make it sticky on top. it’s work fine.
But I have encountered another problem. when pressing the filter button after scrolling down the screen It always jump back to the top of the screen. it’s not convenient to use for mobile phone. I didn’t want it to jump back. need it still same position. Where do I need to fix it? Thank you again.

I think it jumps because during filtering the entire grid disappears for a split second and is then re-populated with just what you want to filter. If there is no other content on the page that would give the page enough height for a scrollbar to appear, this instantly resets the scroll position to the top.
There is a “Min height to avoid jumping” setting on the General tab to which you could enter a number like 600

You can import/export the plugin settings from the bottom of the General tab.
Individual grids are a custom post type, normal WP backup or import export solutions would work with them, if you have many. Otherwise there is a way to access the underlying shortcode in the grid editor and you can note that, then create a new grid based on that shortcode on the new site.
One thing to be mindful of, if you use the media library and reupload photos on a new site, the image IDs will be different.
