After the latest update, it seems there is an error because the result page layout is broken or not loading more results. You can check on my test site: https://www.test3.svgheart.com/search-free-svg/?asp_s=svg On the live site with version 4.26.12, everything is fine: https://www.svgheart.com/search-free-svg/?asp_s=svg If different settings are necessary or if it’s due to my custom CSS, please let me know and I will renew support. Thank you.
Thank you!
fter the latest update, the plugin on my website no longer works for searches. When I enter content into the search bar, the search does not start at all. Is there any way to get the previous version of the plugin?
Hi,
There is one known issue caused by additional script minification. Ehich cache plugin do you use? I will send you instructions on how to exclude the plugi script files from minification.
All the best, Ernest
Hi Ernest, I use WP-Rocket – I have already opened a bug report on GitHub. I will post there my comment. BR, Carlo

hello… when I click SAVE ALL TABS, I see Access to this resource on the server is denied! 403.. How can I fix it? Thank you
and I am getting this problem just for admin.php?page=asp_main_settings&asp_sid=2#1
Hi,
Error 403 means that the request is blocked by the server. The cause of this is almost every single case the firewall. Check your server firewall, WordFence, Cloudflare configuration, usually somewhere along those there must be a block for a false positive firewall match.
hello
it was fixed with ModSecurity in cpanel
thank you
After the last update, all images disappeared from the site and the module stopped working. Disabling the plugin returned the site to its normal appearance. What could be the problem?
Thanks for the tip Ernest! I cleared the Cloudflare cache (even tried to completely disable caching) and the W3 Total Cache cache again. Rebooted the server, recreated the Ajax Search database. There are still no images on the site. When I disable the plugin, all the images return to the site. I have never had such a problem with the existing site settings and a set of plugins before.
Very interesting, then it must be some sort of a conflict with something as there is no code within the plugin regarding images. I have searched past tickets, but no similar issue was ever reported either. I suggest opening a support ticket, we will go through the error log to see if there is anything and debug step-by-step.
I can’t create a ticket, Ernest. My support period is over («The support period is over for this purchase»). However, it’s a shame to lose such an important plugin for my site.
You can still open a public bug report if you think I can somehow replicate this. Please include everything – screenshots, error logs, public URL to see the issue, active plugins list, everything you can. I can’t respond to those as fast as support, but I will try to somehow replicate this if possible.
Many thanks Ernest. I sent a bug report.
hi there, something is wrong with the schema – before I had Sitelinks searchbox in Google Rich Search Results – now it’s gone. Was the setting somewhere in the settings of your plugin or it’s somewhere else and you don’t output anything SEO related in the code
is it possible to have a search bar as well as a drop dop down with multiple checkboxes (which will consist of tags)? Thanks
Hi,
Sure – for example like this: https://ajaxsearchpro.com/property-search/
Hi, I used to buy your plugin for two licences but get blocked access to the account. Can I ask you something? {results_count_total} shows per post page, for example, it shows a result as 2 where one post has one highlighted result and the other has two highlighted results. Is it possible to show the total result as 3, in stead of 2 ?
Hi, anyway to show on desktop and mobile just icon.
Hi, is there a way to use wp-cli for indexing posts? I have 30k posts and it freezes after 6k on the plugin index table page of the plugin. If no wp-cli support, what to do about this problem?
how does it handle empty searches? i searched apple on the demo and it took me to a page with no results…
Hi,
You have multiple options. Either (by default) the plugin redirects to the results page and the results page takes over and displays the default “no results” message.
Another possibility is to enable predictive keyword matching, which can be applied to the results page as well. In that case the closest possible match to the keyword is displayed on both the drop-down and the results page.
Hi,
Is it possible to build advanced search filter like the one in this screenshot: https://i.ibb.co/kBVFh6q/search-results.jpg using ACF, Ajax Search Pro and Elemenor? (I mean without needing custom code)
Thanks!
I want to build faceted search. If I have Ajax Search Pro is there ANY reason to buy something like wpgridbuilder.com? Or Ajax Search Pro can do it all?
Is wpgridbuilder.com suppose to used in conjunction with Ajax Search Pro? Because I’ve seen some sites using them together so I am wondering why?
What’s the difference between archive pages and regular pages? When is there a issue and when not?
Archive pages are the search results page, category, taxonomy term and post type archives – basically pages where multiple items are displayed through a core wordpress loop. Singular pages use no loop only display a single element (post, page etc..).
So basically the plugin can hook into the Loop used on the archive pages, and replace the results within the original loop. Then any page builder/grid/etc.. will take over and display those items instead of the original ones.
Hello, After updating to Version 4.26.12, clicking on the search magnifier button returns error “There has been a critical error on this website”, while search atuosubmit works fine.!
please advise how to download previous versions.
It’s not possible to downgrade for security reasons. I suggest opening a support ticket so we can check the conflict, or if you think this might be a common issue, you can open a report on the issue tracker.
Hi again, I found that the snippet you had provided me is now making the fatal error. The snippet was to handle special characters including: ‘Ā’, ‘ā’, ‘Ā’, ‘ā’, ‘Ḥ’, ‘ḥ’, ‘Ḥ’, ‘ḥ’, ‘Ī’, ‘ī’, ‘Ī’, ‘ī’, ‘Ṣ’, ‘ṣ’, ‘Ṣ’, ‘ṣ’, ‘S̲’, ‘s̲’, ‘Ṭ’, ‘ṭ’, ‘Ṭ’, ‘ṭ’, ‘Ū’, ‘ū’, ‘Ū’, ‘ū’, ‘Z̤’, ‘z̤’, ‘Ẓ’, ‘ẓ’, ‘Ẓ’, ‘ẓ’, ‘Z̲’, ‘z̲’, ‘Ẕ’, ‘ẕ’, ‘ʼ’, ‘ʻ’, ‘ʹ’, ‘̄’ Can’t your plugin still handle such characters where they are being searched without diacritics?
Thank you for your reply. The ideal solution is to make characters searchable even without diacritics. For instance, a post titled ” ʻAlīẓā ” should be found using a search term like ” aliza ” or ” ʻalīẓā ”.
can this plugin display posts only from a certain user-role?
hello, can the pro version be able to search epub files?
I meant if it was uploaded as attachments, just like pdf file, word file as you stated it can search other static files like word, text, pdf etc
Thanks for clarification
Hi,
How can we stop the Ajax Search Pro from apearing in the admin post editor please?
Thanks.
No, We mean the Ajax Search Pro settings at the bottom of any admin post page.
We can turn it off in gutenberg settings for that post, but not if we want other users to create or edit posts.
Would be great to have an option to not show the Ajax Search Pro settings panel in any post editors please.
Oh, you can turn that off actually: https://documentation.ajaxsearchpro.com/other-useful-things/meta-box-on-post-editor-screen
Hi I’ve seen some search plugins which are very fast for searching with almost instant results, why cant this plug-in do the same?
Hi,
Because that would only work on a very limited set of data or need an external subscription. The way those solutions work is either:
- Pushing the data to the client browser, which puts all the work to the browser, but also has to request all the searchable data, which is limited. These may also affect SEO if not coded properly. These work well if there is not a lot of data to search for, but when you start to have hundreds of posts and search contents etc.. then it’s starts to get problematic or does not work at all.
- Using external search servers – those are the good solutions, but very costly, starting from $100+/year upwards, depending on the amount of data. The search is conducted on a 3rd party server, which is coded specifically to handle these requests for a price. I do recommend these when money is not an issue.
We don’t want to rely on 3rd party servers to upsell subscriptions, nor limit the search capability in any ways just to promise “instant” results. There is always a trade off, there are no magical solutions, it’s usually only promises.
Ajax Search Pro is very well optimized, the performance on a well maintained server can be very close to an instant search – you can check that on our demo page. It’s not limited to any amount of data, it will handle whatever your server can handle. No subscription, no headaches.
Is It possible you could add option to increase speed by limiting data search
Hello, is there a way i can add this short-code to my elementor [wpdreams_ajaxsearchpro_results id=1 element=’div’]
i’m having trouble making my default search result page the one from ajaxsearchpro
it’s not working i tried but it does not work
i insert [wpdreams_ajaxsearchpro_results id=1 element=’div’] in a block on search result archive nothing is showing
Hello?
The results shortcode is not for that purpose – it’s not a replacement for the archive page. It’s to display the live search results on a different location as below the search bar, but on the same page as the search module is.
If you only place the results shortcode there, then nothing is going to happen, you also need a search bar, as well as to initiate a live search so the results will show up. But again, it’s not meant to be used as a custom results replacement block.
Ernest, is there a way for me to show you the link so you can help me figure out what I’m doing wrong?
Definitely – I recommend opening a support ticket for that: https://wp-dreams.com/open-support-ticket-step-1/
Hello Ernest, i’m trying to open a ticket but unsuccessful do you have an email address i can use?
I’m very sorry but all support queries need to go through the ticket system because of support eligibility verification. You can send a question via this form, if you think there is an error in the system and I can verify your purchase code. If you purchased a longer time ago, it is very likely that the support period is over (it’s 6 or 12 months by default). You can either extend it on the product page, or get a new one if your purchase was many years ago.
Hi Ernest, I hope you are well, 2 x quick questions if you don’t mind:
1) I just noted that your Search support Custom Fields, and I need to add the following to my posts: Instruments (from 1 to 20…), moods (3 to 5) and genre (1 to 3).
So, as I consider you an expert in the field, for best performance do you think I should add these as Custom Fields or Custom Taxonomies (I have already reserved Tags and Cats)?
On a side note; I wouldn’t use extra plugins, just the free online template generator for Custom Taxonomies, or the new simple binding API code for the Custom Fields.
2) Otherwise I have been thinking of using what I call ‘preset buttons’ for searching, with urls like so ‘my_site/?s=flute’, ‘my_site/?s=piano’ etc… one downside is that you could only click one button at a time. I would create these manually obviously.
Do you know if there are potential problems with this scenario? I did try this in the past and it seemed to work; what’s your professional opinion, in case I would want to use this instead of option ‘1)’ above?
Yours sincerly, alkhor
Hi,
I think I would suggest doing scenario 1. From the description Taxonomy Terms will very likely fit better. The deciding factor between custom fields and taxonomy terms is always one thing – reusability. For example a pirce field, location etc.. are very variable, therefore it’s better to use custom fields, as hardly any values are re-used.
If I were you, I would create 3 taxonomies: Instruments, Moods, Genre. It’s future proof, super easy to work with, reusable and fits perfectly.
Hi Ernest, thank you for your reply; for better performance do you think it would good to just have the instruments listed in posts as normal texts, and let the Search plugin do its thing? Pros and cons?
If you plan to do any filtering/queries later on then I recommend custom taxonomy terms still. From a performance standpoint it’s not an issue if you use the index table enigne.
Thanks a lot Ernest, I am following your advice and have started working on the custom taxonomy terms. I didn’t know about the ‘Index Table Engine’, that’s a great feature!
Yours sincerely, alkhor
You are welcome!
In search statistics why do I get a high number of [no keyword]?
