Is there a possibility to check on the compatibility with Breakdance website builder. I get an error when using your shortcode. The search is showing but the error breaks the animation of the site randomly. Having a space is making an issue. If there is a possibility to check on that I ll send in support.
Hi,
Just tried, but it’s okay on our ends. Can you please open a support ticket or a bug report (if you think it’s generic and possible to replicate easily)? Thanks!
on the site I am building for some months now I get an error when saving a header template whenever I have the shortcode [wd_asp id=1] added. when I remove it, it saves ok. Despite that it works but it breaks the animations of the site and it makes the modal I use to show the search to glitch. I will contact support next week.
Hi, is it possible to fix the excert issue that seems to be related to WP Bakery builder? On some pages it does not show any description, just “print qr code, download qr code”. How can this be fixed?
Hi,
I just tested this, but there is no issue on our ends. I also looked up support tickets and issue reports from the past few months but no mention of similar problem. I suspect somewhing else might be also related to this.
I suggest opening a support ticket, as this seems to be an issue specific to your environment.
Hi, I am just wondering if the plugin has support for umlat’s now. I am looking to re-purchased but previously I noted the umlaut support issue where for example if I have a product on a store and the product name was ‘Bücher’ but the user searches for ‘Bucher’ without putting the umlat on the ‘u’ the search tool would show no results. Do you know if this is working now or is it a setting needed to be changed? Thanks
Hi,
It is not up to the plugin, but the correct database collation. By default the WordPress database uses a case and accent insensitive collation, so searches for “bucher” will also match “bücher” (and vice versa)
If the database and/or table collation was changed to a case or accent sensitive one, then of course they will not match. I suggest checking and changing the database and table collations to the WordPress default utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci as you want the default behavior.
hi there, we use a small plugin called Search Exclude by Quadlayers to exclude certain pages from search results (hidden pages, thank you pages, etc.). However, we’ve just noted that these hidden pages still show up in Ajax Search Pro’s results?... is that using a different search engine and do we need to use solely your plugin’s exclusion system?
Hi,
It’s very likely because Ajax Search Pro uses it’s own engine. While the plugin tries to fetch the modifications by other plugins from the core query – it’s not always possible, which is probably the case here.
You can still use both plugin’s exclusion system, in case you want to switch from one to another, it will not cause any issues whatsoever.
Is there a tutorial or knowledgbase article that shows how to search ACF fields? I can’t find it anywhere.
Hi,
The same way as regular custom fields, there is no difference. Here is the related documentation. In case of fields with labels and such I recommend using the index table engine, that picks them up better.
Hi . i Have same bugs on pagination using the elementor post widget I read about on the comment I try with all the plugins desactivated In works fine with one custom post type but not with other one also the ” Load More” option only show on e post please Let me know if you have any solutions for that thanks
thanks but my support time expired and I can’t post This look like a bug .. do I have to pay to solve it ?? thanks
If you think it’s a bug, you can open an issue on the bug tracker and we will try to replicate and fix for an upcoming release. Please be very descriptive, including the steps to replicate, exact widget type etc.. Thanks!
thanks a lot .. can I give you there the admin access ?’
No, don’t it is a public tracker for bug reporting.
ok how can I give you access ?
Via support only. The bug tracker is to track bugs that are possible to replicate. If it’s a general issue, then I will be able to replicate it and no need for access.
Ok I estended the support and send a ticket , please check it as soon as posible thanks
Hello,
I’m wondering if the search engine can automatically interpret all words containing Č as C, Š as S, and Ć as C. Or does a synonym need to be created for each phrase?
Here’s an example: “Miš (mouse) to Mis, Usisivač (vacuum cleaner) to Usisivac.”
Hi,
That is handled on the database level, and by default they are treated as “same” when comparing.
WordPress database tables use the utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci collation, which means that they are case and accent insensitive.
Therefore “mis” will also match “miš” and vice versa, same for the other accented characters.
hello how i can add or integrate google ads code with Ajax search to show adsense ads with resultas or between
Hi,
Well, there is no option on the back-end for that, but it’s very likely doable via the javascript API.
thank you
I’m not sure if I missed this, but is it possible to display a list of the most searched words when a user starts typing a search word in the input field? For example, If I start typing the characters ‘Tim’ then the search options below might show Timber, Time, tims….
How can I disable the search results in autocomplete list to link to the detail page? I want to have different action, if I click on the result I wan some javascript handler to be trigerred
Hi,
The live results are simple anchors (links), the best option is probably use javascript to cancel the redirection.
Usually in the event listener if you run the .preventDefault() function, it should stop the default redirection event, for example:
document.querySelectorAll('a').forEach((a)=>a.addEventListener('click', (e)=>e.preventDefault()));
I see thanks, I was looking for some configration solution, but could not find any, so I thought there is some filter. But this solves the problem, thanks!
Hi we just update the plugin on latest version. we use index. seems doesnt search by sku. before update this worked ok. we didnt change anything. also we reindex but still the same
Hi,
The update has no index table search related changes, it might be something else. Just to be sure I have tested with custom fields as well as SKUs and it works all right on all test servers.
Please open a support ticket if the issue persists and I will take a direct look.
hi new update fixed the problem
Hi
I have been able to translate various strings with Polylang as explained in the documentation, but the ‘No results!’ strings or ‘Did you mean’ do not appear.
How can I translate them?
Thanks in advance.
Regards!
Yes, they do not appear in the Polylang listing once ‘Ajax Search Pro’ is selected in the tab. The problem is that I still have the project on localhost…
Sorry, you’re right, but I don’t see ‘Did you mean’...
Sorry, Ernest, but I can’t find it.
I have reviewed the 35 strings that appear one by one and there is none with the name ‘Did you mean’. It’s very strange, isn’t it?
I will do it in a few days when the project is online.
Thanks a lot, Ernest!
Great
Hi there
How can I add a custom font? I mean, I see where but I don’t know how.
Thanks in advance.
Regards!
I answer myself.
I didn’t think it was as simple as writing the name of the font already installed in the theme.
Thank you!
Regards!
Hi, I’ve been using your plugin for many years, and I think it’s wonderful. So, I would like to suggest a new functionality if it is feasible to include it in the next versions, otherwise you can create it as an addon sold separately (I think it’s fair). You could implement an integration with the Amazon Associates/Affiliates products API: https://webservices.amazon.com/paapi5/documentation/ Since Amazon makes this affiliate program and API available to practically every country in the world where it operates, it would be a very promising feature. With the integrated API we could create a product search field within Amazon in our country using the API key. It would be very useful for offer and coupon sites, review sites, blogs, affiliated online stores, etc.
Tell me if you think it is viable and interesting for you, and I will contact you privately via support email to send you a copy of a wordpress plugin (which searches and imports products for woocommerce sites) that has this feature integrated into the backend as you can See the images below, so you can take advantage of some part of the code and speed up integration.
search products: https://i.imgur.com/71MTVU9.jpeg result: https://i.imgur.com/PX1BM2D.jpeg
Hi,
Thank you very much for the idea.
Unfortunately I am not sure if we can integrate with that, as the plugin is designed to search data on the local database – basically on existing data.
These cases are solved by importing the products from the amazon store to the local database and cross-linking them. With that basically any plugin can search and filter the items, while the results are still routed to the amazon store.
Version 4.26.3 – is not working “Additional search tags for this post (comma separated)”
Hi,
I just tested, it works all right on our ends. Both adding and searching the tags is working without issues. The update should not affect that part, but make sure to clear all layers of cache so it’s not related to that.
If you need help you can open a support ticket or open a bug report with all the exact details to replicate the issue here.
Hi, I’m thinking about buying the Pro version. However, there have been no updates for almost a year. Is the plugin still being developed at all? Best regards
Good morning, with this plugin is it possible to select only the pages (no post and categories) that interest me and obtain a list? Is the color and measurements costable?
Hi, does the plugin support Elasticsearch?
Hi,
A few prepurchase questions:
1) Is ACF fully supported? 2) Can you WEIGHT search results based on values in particular fields? For example, if there is an ACF review field with a 5 then this will rank higher than another field with a 4? 3) Also on the Weighting subject, is it possible to weight one fields priority over another? For example, if two different posts have the same search term but in different weighted fields, then can we rank the post with a higher weithed field priority higher in the search results? 4) Can we use particular theme templates for the search results pages? 5) Can we limit search results on a search form to only search within a certain post category? For example, there may be a page that only has posts relating to the weather. I would like to add a search form on that page that only searches within posts that are in the category weather and it’s siblings (children, grandchildren etc.) 6) Finally, I notice you haven’t updated the plugin for a long time, with the various changes in wordpress are you keeping up to date with functionality changes and security vulnerabilities? Sorry, this is important. Thanks,
And sorry, one last question.
7) We use user roles on posts/fields to hide content based on user role. Does your search plugin respect the user roles i.e. if a non-registered user searches for a post that you have to be a particular user role to view then the search results won’t show that post in the results?
Thanks again!
Hi,
1. Any text based field (text, drop-down, checkbox etc..) should work fine. Reference fields should work all right as well, the exceptions are repeater fields, as those can’t be queried directly.
2. Yes, but not on individual custom fields. Matches based on custom fields have single weight value.
3. I’m afraid not, but you can set individual match priorities.
4. The search results page layout is controlled by the current theme (or page builder integration), the plugin can’t control that. You can however make a “custom” page to redirect the results to. I usually don’t recommend that though.
5. Yes of course.
6. I am completely reworking the server side code as well as integrating more modern packaging solutions and it takes a lot longer as expected. You can follow the progress via the public dev issues repo as well as on slack channel. If you want you can even sign up for beta testing. The plugin is regularly monitored for security breaches, we are in contact with multiple screening companies (like patchstack) and every report is patched before it’s published, I take that very seriously.
7. That is very unlikely, usually these solutions modify the built-in query in some way, but that does not always populate to 3rd party search queries.
Hi Ernest,
Thanks for the comprehensive feedback. The user roles visibility might be a deal breaker for us as we cannot have paid content found/viewable by non-members.
Weighting would also be really beneficial and need that at some point. I think this is something Search WP offers, so interested to learn if that’s on your development roadmap?
I’ll give your plugin a really good test over the next couple of days and get back to you directly.
Thanks again!
Hi, My plugin works well, but I couldn’t figure out how to set that to search in only one category ( or any category I want) Searching works for all posts but for example, I have a sports new page and I want the search works only for that category in that page. Is it possible?
Thank you I am checking now
that’s working just as I wish, thank you so much
