Hi,
How can we use the option of including and excluding images using their attachment ids. WP3.5 doesn’t show the attachment ids or can you help me how to get the attachment id?
Simplest would be to create a WP gallery, there you can pick the images. Then switch to html editor and you’ll see the ids. Also when you hover over the images in the media library the URL should show the id individually.
Hello,
Just bought the plugin – very nice work. Is there any way to insert a link in the description field form the slideshow? I manage images with nextgen, I put the href html code in the description, the string appears in the lightbox (prettyPhoto) but it’s not clickable. I really need this feature, any idea is welcomed.
Thanks
Yes I have a version that has it enabled just don’t put it on the thumbnails. Inside prettyPhoto it’s cool. Contact me from my profile.
Thank you! One more thing. I’m trying to use the prettyphoto lightbox everywhere on my site, including when clicking on the Photo of the Day widget from WPPA+ plugin. I found some settings in the WPPA+ that let me choose a lightbox, but I need a “lightbox keyname” to replace the default one (wppa). Do you have any idea how to make this work?
Thanks
What is WPPA+? Sorry I have no idea what you are talking about. How is this related to JIG? Do you wish to use my social tools enhanced customized version all over the site not just from my plugin?
I would like all the images to open in the same lightbox, yes.
That’s not a feature of my plugin but I could help you as a custom job.
Hi There,
Great plugin. I’m trying to use this on a website I”m developing. Specifically I would like to use the out of the box pre set 9: Focus on text. Despite all the setting been correct, I can’t get the image title to display for each image. When I hover over the image the Title and Description slides up, but on your sample (and in the settings) it states that the title is visible all the time.
Can you show me your link, I have a hard time understanding what’s wrong on your side. If you chose the preset attribute on the shortcode, you can only make changes in the shortcode editor, the main plugin settings won’t take effect.
Here’s an example: http://sweet-bliss.com/?page_id=6
I would like the title of each image to always be visable like in your sample here: http://justifiedgrid.com/preset-9/
And as I mentioned previously, I have not changed any settings on the main plugin settings. I have chose the Preset 9 to be my default, and the preset 9 settings have Caption style set to: Mixed – Tilte always visible but sliding description
Any Ideas??
I only see a coming soon page. Please contact me from my profile and send access details so I can see beyond the maintenance mode.
Thank you….all solved.
Really like the plugin, just wondering whether it is possible to have the lightbox stay the same size for all images? normally lightbox pops up and adjusts itself to the size of the image; I’d like to have the box pop up… and stay the same size for all images. Is that at all possible?
It’s the lightbox’s thing to do that or not. I simply use the lightboxes [as example]. If you find or can setup prettyPhoto or another lightbox to behave how you want it there is a good chance you can connect it to my plugin. E.g. photoswipe stays the same size (full screen). I think prettyPhoto can be set up like that, not sure, check their docs. Social Gallery can stay the same dimensions (other paid, compatible plugin here).
Firsh, can you please help me out. I still can’t add a flickr user.
I’ve just sent you a mail!
Deactivated a Plugin, now getting this Error: Your jQuery version (1.4.4) is old, this plugin needs at least 1.7, please go to the plugin settings and choose another jQuery source. If this does not work then your theme or a plugin is not using WordPress best practices and forces the loading of an old version. In that case contact the author of Justified Image Grid.
Plugin was: All-In-One Shortcodes
Send me a mail from my profile.
sent u an mail

Hello
I uploaded WP to 3.5 and update this plugin but not work. I do follow document add “ids” of image gallery and it still not work.
this is test page gallery on my website: http://www.multiple-owners.com/test/This is the error, this link should return an image. Set chmod 777 permissions on timthumb.php, and the /cache folder and its contents in my plugin’s folder. You can try the permission editor in the timthumb tab in the settings first, there is an option for 777 there (this is not set automatically).
It working now, Thanks Firsh
Can’t find the user. Try adding the profile URL. The error from Flickr: Invalid API Key (Key has invalid format) (code 100)
added the right username, tried also with url & added api key from http://www.flickr.com/services/apps/create/commercial/ tried also secret key both doesnt work
Make sure you didn’t copy an extra space before or after your API key. Your key is not in the right format, are you sure you copied the right key in the right place? This error has nothing to do with the username, you first need to sort out the API key problem. Can you try with a non commercial key?
Hi, it would be nice if the next version was added the ability to display multiple gallery: [justified_image_grid nggallery=5,3,18] instead of [justified_image_grid nggallery=5]
Thanks!
Good suggestion, thank you!
Hi Frish, please don’t forget add multiple gallery in next release. I was forced use original NextGen widget on sidebar in my project: http://zupavodnjan.com/crkve/sveti-blaz Thanks!
Bummer I totally forgot about that, sorry. Added to the to-do for the next version.
In the meantime you could to add multiple instances, one gallery per shortcode. With a more generous height_deviation that would result in minimal amount or orphan last rows so it’d look like they are from the same gallery.
Or use tags to group them together and display that tag (e.g. tagged with ‘sidebar’).
Thanks for suggestions! Maybe the tags is one of solutions. But I need 8 random photos from group of galleries in widget, content dependent. I was create 10 different sidebars, each look same but inside, with different NextGen settings. When you add multigallery options, I will switch NextGen with Text widget with Justified Image settings. Regards, Zoran
All right then
I really like how this plug-in makes it possible to present my images uniformly, no matter how they are hosted. Thanks for that!
The plug-in seems to have trouble with w3tc (caching). The problem is the default settings for javascript compression using minify (when I switch that off, everything is fine). I’m guessing some of the lazy-load code it deemed unused.
There also seems to be issues with navigating NGGallery albums. When I give it a root album, it can navigate one level down albums (especially if I have set a page for the sub-album), but as soon as I click on a gallery, I don’t get a suitable page. If I have a nggallery item, it generates the correct GET variables, which are interpreted correctly by the plug-in. For example, consider http://westergaard.eu/images/ – here the four years are sub-albums, whereas meta is a gallery (with id 7). The albums 2009 and 2010 have an associated page. The four sub-albums all correctly navigate to their associated page or stays on the page and update the image list). I can navigate any depth of albums, whether they have an associated page or not, but no galleries.
Finally, the caching check seem to suggest or to set permission 755 or 777 for the plug-in directory. Given TinThumb’s history for security problems, this does not seem to be a good idea. Setting persmission manually, the check also passes without write access to the plug-in directory (only the cache sub-directory). Maybe this should be a bit clearer?
Thanks.
W3C, yes the minify is unneded because it’s already minified. There is supposed to be an exclude parameter in that plugin to not minify my plugin’s script again.
As for your nextgen problem: you are not using permalinks and my plugin doesn’t handle the ?album=1 style. From the FAQ:
NextGEN albums/galleries link to the same page, nothing happens.Go to NextGEN settings, on Gallery tab, tick this: ’ The album will not link to a gallery subpage. The gallery is shown on the same page. ‘
Then on General tab, tick this: ‘Activate permalinks When you activate this option, you need to update your permalink structure one time. Gallery slug name ‘
Then click Create new URL friendly image slugs Proceed now
You may also need to go to the WP settings -> Permalinks, revert to default then change back to what you had (if you had a custom one, copy that to a safe place).
If you do this, they should work like in my preview.
There has been many problems arising from not enough permissions. On my server it doesn’t need to alter any permissions at all, but some servers require more files with more lazy permissions. You are safe with 755 and 777 if the parent folder is locked with a more secure permission. The old timthumb vulnerabilites has been patched I wouldn’t worry about it. I haven’t found a suitable replacement for timthumb yet. If your server allows, go ahead and make the permissions more secure, up to the point where the plugin breaks (no images will show up).
I could not add a Flickr User. It says “COMMUNICATING WITH FLICKR. IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE A MOMENT.”. Then nothing happens after that. Help please.
Check your mail!
Hello
I’m using WP 3.5 and your lastest JIG. I opened a new page and I want to use some current image which uploaded and attached to some other posts/pages. So I used Attachments Plugin to attach images to the new page. It worked as well on WP3.4 but on Wp 3.5 it says:
Post 2 does not have any attached images!
How can I fix that?
Thanks
In wp3.5 you no longer need to attach images to the post. Just do it according to the documentation, using the ‘ids’ attribute.
Can you give me an example, I dont know how to do
The documentation has been updated with v1.4 and wp3.5, it would be helpful to re-read the basic installation guide, there are examples on how to do it.
I did exactly you said in Justified Image Grid – Premium WordPress Gallery Documentation & Troubleshooting guide but the result was a blank page…
[justified_image_grid ids=”2380,2378,2377,2379,2381,2383,2369,2376,2375,2368,2374,2373,2372,2371,2382,2370,2365,2367,2366,2361,2360,2362,2363,2364”]
[gallery ids=”2380,2378,2377,2379,2381,2383,2369,2376,2375,2368,2374,2373,2372,2371,2382,2370,2365,2367,2366,2361,2360,2362,2363,2364”]
And the result: http://www.dukepro.net/landscape-architechture/
I see, you did everythin right, it doesn’t see the images from the database, returns an empty image list. Are the images attached to a post and is that post published or not?
$args = array( ‘include’ => $ids, ‘post_status’ => ‘inherit’, ‘post_type’ => ‘attachment’, ‘post_mime_type’ => ‘image’, ‘order’ => $order, ‘orderby’ => $orderby );
They are getting fetched like this.
The images just uploaded and are not attached in any post/page. I’m sure 100% the page is published.
I tried to upload some new images but I got the same results.
Can you please contact me from my profile I’ll need to debug this.
I sent you an email with some info already. pls check. thanks
You had jetpack’s phantom on. Sorry to say it was the cause. I’ll try to do something about it for the next update.
Thank you. It’s good now. I dont need Jetpack photon also.
A possible bug: If I have caption=off in a text widget which appears on a page with a justified gallery in the content, even the captions in the content are turned off.
Widget code: [justified_image_grid flickr_user=xxxxxx flickr_photoset=xxxxxxx preset=1 row_height=100 caption=off max_rows=3 lightbox=no]
Page code: [justified_image_grid flickr_user=xxxxxx flickr_photoset=xxxxxxx preset=1]
Testing on a local environment.
Thanks I’ll check it out. There is a bug that affects multiple instances with different settings, I’ll aim to fix it for v1.5
Still the global setting aren’t working. I’ve looked at the shortcode, but the defealt setting are staying on default. In stead of taking the global settings. Als Foobox is’nt working. I have set one page with foobox enabled > http://www.chadli.nl/fotogalerie/architectuur/
This is a page without JIG (tagbased):http://www.chadli.nl/fotogalerie/landen/frankrijk/#/ As you can see, foobox is working on this page
My galleries are no longer showing up on my website. I thought maybe upgrading plugin to 1.4 would fix it. Please help! It was working a week or so ago.
http://www.nextjam.net/artists/grace-potter-the-nocturnals/grace-potter-the-nocturnals-930-club-12-6-2012/It doesn’t find the images so it senses it shouldn’t show anything. What did you do when the problem started to occur? In WP3.5 the images are no longer attached to the post mainly, but they are gathered into a gallery using a list of IDs. Can you try to set up a new shortcode using the first, ids attribute?
Only thing I’ve done recently is upgrade to WP 3.5.
The images are attached to all the posts.
How do I get the gallery ids? Does this mean I have to go and change the code on all my old posts?
It should work as usual if they remained attached to the posts. You can try however using the ids parameter to see if it works like that for you. It’s not gallery ids but image ids and you generate them by creating a regular wp gallery and copying the gallery shorcode’s ids attribute to my shortcode (according to the documentation).
The fix for this was to disable Photon in the Jet Pack preferences.
Oh yes that’s it, somebody else had the problem too.
Settings in the general tab don’t work withmy WP3.5. It say it’s saved, also the right setting are there, but it don’t affect the website. It stays on default settings. If i ad the settings on the page itself with your plugin it works… Is this because of a wrong server/other setting? I want to change some general settings…
I think you have chosen a preset in the shortcode editor. That overrides the global settings.
Still the global settings aren’t working. I’ve looked at the shortcode, but the default settings are staying on default. In stead of taking the global settings.
Also Foobox is’nt working. I have set one page with foobox enabled > http://www.chadli.nl/fotogalerie/architectuur/ This is a page without JIG (tagbased):http://www.chadli.nl/fotogalerie/landen/frankrijk/#/ As you can see, foobox is working on this page
Did you tick the JIG checkbox in FooBox’s settings? Also you need to select it in my plugin. Try using the shortcode editor for setting things up. When using the global settings, the shortcode should look like [justified_image_grid] by default.
Yes, both are checked. In foogallery and shortcoded in JIG. Only on the architecture page as given below. What can i do more?
Can you ask Brad about it (FooBox’s dev)?
This is the JIG shortcode on the architecture page: [justified_image_grid preset=3 lightbox=foobox orderby=rand last_row=match mouse_disable=yes load_more=click load_more_text=”Laad meer afbeeldingen” load_more_limit=9 nggallery=1 ng_breadcrumb=yes]
In the global settings i’ve thicked foobox as lightbox and in the pluginsetup page thicked nextgen compatibility.
Foobox is working with Nextgen and the standard picviewer. So, i think it’s an setting in JIG. Foobox is working… Can you help me please?
It’s working:-) Thanks. I hope there will be a tag option in feature versions
What is ment by: FooBox: add .jigFooBoxConnect to ‘Specific CSS classes’ in its settings
I have foobox, but it does’nt work…
You don’t need to set that. Make sure you upgraded to latest foobox and JOG, then there is a checkbox setting in foobox plugin to enable JIG compatibility.
Hi,
Can you tell me how to display my tag based galleries (Nextgen)? All my galleries are pretty with justified grid, but only the tag based not… Link: http://www.chadli.nl/fotogalerie/landen/frankrijk/
Currently there is no support for tags yet.
Oke, do you have an alternative? The standard Nextgen gallery is not so pretty…
I don’t know. It has been asked and it’s on the to-do list.
I’ve tested your site template with my iPhone4, but it does’nt work that great. Images are not displayed correctly (size/aligning) or not showing at all when i tick twice on a picture. When i use it with the Nextgen and the Foobox plugin/page it has an other problem. Images that are bigger than the resolution of the iPhone wil not show within the iPhone window (auto resize). I want to buy your plugin for my Nextgen gallery, but it seems like it’s not 100% ready yet for multiplatform use. Good mobile compatibility is essential for my work. Please tell me i am wrong…
This is not a template. What lightbox you use for mobiles is entirely up to you. If FooBox doesn’t work well for your needs you can try PhotoSwipe or other lightbox you like or have seen working on other sites. I didn’t create the lightboxes I simply make use of them. If the grid shows properly that’s the most important part. Then you can add a lightbox that suits your needs. FooBox is responsive, what do you mean the auto resize is not working? PrettyPhoto and ColorBox are not good for mobiles that’s a fact. Have you tried the PhotoSwipe one, here: http://justifiedgrid.com/v1-3-flickr-recent-posts-photoswipe-hidden-limit-social-gallery/
Thanks forr the fast reply. Photoswipe is working correctly, thanks. I’ve buyed your plugin.
Cool! That’s the free and quick solution.
