Too bad it does not adjust the width. I’m used to the flexibility of NextGen in a way that we can choose ‘float’ and the size of the photo in the article text. Maybe I could still use NextGen for single photo so set within NextGen effect = prettyPhoto? How?
It might not be bad in the next version of the plugin to add width and / or height parameter?

It would kind of defeat the responsive feature that way. What’s the point of using just a single picture using my plugin? Are you doing that for the prettyphoto? There are other solutions and the text can float it. My plugin is a block it won’t allow text floating next to it.
Hi Firsh, first of all thanks for great job. I’m building a website and I plan to use the plugin only in combination with NextGen. In the gallery showing no s problems, everything works perfectly with prettyPhoto. The problem is displaying a single photo from NextGen. I can not adjust the size. [justified_image_grid ng_pics=13 w=640] won’t work. [singlepic id=13 w=640] work perfectly Any help?
There is no such attribute as w. You can’t adjust the size, it’ll match the parent element’s width (if you allow enough height). So the closest next best thing would be setting a row height to something larger like 300 or more, and also the deviation to 250-ish… This will allow the image to be scaled larger. Probably you wanted to achieve this by the 640px width, that should be maximum width there, right?

First of all what a great idea fort a plugin! Could you help me out on one thing? When I add the pagename for use with Facebook it just states: “No albums at all.” But I do have various albums. How to get them to work?

Can you share me the facebook pagename or ID? Try copying the whole url there, of the page’s front page (timeline view). If you are entering the visible pagename it might not work if there is another page under that name. That’s why it may require the ID.

Make sure your page is not geopgrahically of demographically limited. It tells me no albums too, but I’ve been able to add other pages without problems. There may be a setting on your page that prohibits access. It’s weird because my plugin uses this to pull your albums: https://graph.facebook.com/150325048357680/albums?fields=id,link,count,name&limit=1000 And they show up in the browser… Can you contact me in E-mail I want to investigate this further.

I’m using the plugin to present several photo galleries that belong to an NextGen Album. The thumbnails show up fine, but clicking on them just refreshes the page. The gallery lightbox overlay doesn’t open to show the images from the clicked gallery.
Is there a setting I’m missing. I’m on wordpress 3.4, I have not upgraded to 3.5

Go to NextGEN settings, on Gallery tab, tick this: ’ The album will not link to a gallery subpage. The gallery is shown on the same page. ‘
Then on General tab, tick this: ‘Activate permalinks When you activate this option, you need to update your permalink structure one time. Gallery slug name ‘
Then click Create new URL friendly image slugs Proceed now
You may also need to go to the WP settings -> Permalinks, revert to default then change back to what you had (if you had a custom one, copy that to a safe place).

I have a photos landing page that has the masonry tiles, each thumbnail is to represent a different gallery within the album. this are mainly triathlons. The page is 2012 triathlons and the galleries are images from individual races.
The change you gave me takes me to a separate page for the gallery where all the images make up a new masonry wall.
My desire is to have one page with all the races from the year represented by a thumbnail and the user simply clicks on the thumbnail and the images from that race/gallery opens in a lightbox overlay that allows the user to view the images all in one experience.

Sorry you can’t do this: Have a grid of images and have each image open a lightbox in a way that in the lightbox, a different gallery is grouped together (sort of a hidden way), for each photo. If I understand your request right. In order to show subalbums they’ll be required to reside on another page, generated by you or automatically by NextGEN.
Hi Firsh, Just purchased and installed your plugin here and it seems like it’s just what I was looking for. I am having one problem however. When I add the shortcode to display a NextGen album I created that has 2 galleries in it, the two thumbnails for the galleries show up but both of them link to the album page.

Dear Firsh, first of all THANKS for this great update. You have listened to all the suggestions and I’m sure this is now the best plug-in ever made to show images in Wordpress. I’m testing it just after having updated to WP 3.5 and to NextGen 1.9.9. and everything works fine. WOW. Very well done.
To avoid some conflict I used to have, I also bought the FooBox plug-in and here it comes the only question I have: FooBox supports HTML links in NextGen’s captions (this is the main reason I bought it) but I cant make it work, HTML gets stripped away…
I can send you a version that doesn’t strip them. I had some problems allowing the HTML in the attribute tags (I could swear it was incompatible with a browser, but I can’t remember). Also it would allow to put links in the captions on top of the thumb and that is invalid code. So contact me for a HTML-allowing version.

Hey there! I’ve been using your plugin for a while now with no problems but all of a sudden it’s not working on one of my client sites. I have NOT upgraded to 3.5 yet so I’m not sure what the issue is. Also, the only plugin I installed recently is FooBar which I deactivated to test and that doesn’t appear to be the issue. Thoughts?

The item JSON object appears to be empty on your installation. Have you tried loading images from nextgen facebook or flickr?
Have not…I just activated JSON in Jetpack, did not make a difference. Should I try to load up an image from FB? All of the images used to date are local on the server.
Try that yes. It’s not getting the images from the post. Maybe jetpack brings something like tighter security. Never heard of this problem before.

Yeah, I assumed the update was part of the WP update. I’m never an early adopter for these major updates in case things are broken and I like to let them get the bugs out. Wondering if the WP update will solve this problem…hopefully people on here may be able to contribute to this discussion? Thanks for your time though…I’ll try to work through this for now.
I’ll try to look into it for v1.4 – I’m doing the docs at the moment, the core is done I’ll pack it up and send it the reviewers’ way tomorrow. Then you can update to WP3.5 and check it out (maybe the new Jetpack is meant to be used by the new WP).
I just checked and WP 3.5 + JIG 1.4 (attached post images)+ Jetpack 2.0.4 (connected, but default settings) = works. So maybe it’s worth waiting for the next version of JIG and updating WP like I mentioned above.

Hey Firsh…yes, am using Photon for all my sites and last night was actually thinking that may be the issue. I’ll test it out today and see what happens.
It IS the cause. Sorry I can’t guarantee them working together. May I recommend cloudflare? It does the same thing and probably more and it works with my plugin.
Got it…glad that’s confirmed. Yeah, I know Cloudflare is a bit different and Photon offers some basic CDN for my smaller clients. Thanks for the support!

This plugin is great. Thank you Firsh. The only thing missing is the ability to include images from multiple posts. If you could add this feature would be great and I would gladly purchase again.

The update is out. Your request has been added. By the way WP3.5 makes it obsolete, but it’s added as a feature anyway. You can add multiple IDs to the ID attribute to pull images from multiple posts. Or you can do the WP3.5 thing and use the IDs or include to pull any image from the library.

You won’t lose anything I just did the same on the live test page that was 3.4 and JIG1.3 – everything remained the same.
BUT WP3.5 brings an entirely new method of doing the galleries that is more versatile, somewhat slower. Perhaps my tabbed interface counters this Basically the photos will no longer be attached, but a new IDs attribute is set. Read the new documentation for more information.

Today I just bought this great plugin but cannot make it work on wp 3.5, when create a simple gallery this new version has not the “save” button for galleries and no show images.

Open your theme’s footer.php and look for wp_footer(); If it’s not there contact me and I’ll help you add it (via email from my profile). Also there is some info about this in the documentation, troubleshooting part.

Well then for some reson it doesn’get used. There is no closing /body tag in your site either (look at the source). My plugin needs to load its scripts in the footer.
testing methods, I’ve noticed that only work in pages, not in posts, any idea?
http://tinyurl.com/d3hjrosI think the pages layout (page.php or single.php) calls for the footer element properly, but the post layout (post.php likely) is not. They are put together like a puzzle. You can also see that there is no visible footer (with © 2012 Icoso Chiapas etc) on posts. This is a theme issue I could fix for you but it has nothing to do with my plugin.

Can I invoke your plugin’s version of PrettyPhoto by hand in an image link? I’m trying to open a Vimeo video in a lightbox, and since I already have a JIG gallery on the page I thought I’d try to use the lightbox code that’s already being loaded. I tried simply adding rel=”prettyPhoto” but it didn’t work. Am I missing something? Thanks!
It’s not added that way, to cause less interference. You’d need to activate prettyphoto on those rel tags first (prettyphoto documentation). If there is JIG on the given page and it shows the social buttons then my version gets loaded properly, you can activate it on any other element too. You need to do that before using the rel stuff.

I bought the plugin and was excited to use it but there was a huge problem. I downloaded the zip file and installed it on Wordpress but I got this error message:

I downloaded it again and tried to install it a second tine with the same error. My question is where is my plugin? I need it now or my money back now.
You shouldn’t upload the documentation and all the other stuff. Please unzip it, you’ll find the actual plugin zip inside the download package. In the main zip there is the documentation, unzipped plugin with sources and the zipped that you should upload. Why haven’t you tried to unzip it first to see what’s in it?

I was on board with your reply until the last sentence. Why did I not look? I had a stroke a few years ago and sometimes I forget things. I thought I had looked inside but apparently I didn’t. In the future you should help people but lose the attitude.
I was just asking why didn’t you look into the zip. When I buy something that’s the first thing I do is to check out what I bought (as in looking for a documentation).
Hi, I have a problem with the lightbox, it apears in the bottom of my page and works realy bad. I hadn’t this problem before the Wordpress 3.5 update, I don’t know if it matters. I’ve tried to change the lightbox, but prettyPhoto, ColorBox and PhotoSwipe do the same.

Prior to purchasing Justified Image Grid, which I love so far, I already had purchased Foobox. It was reading the Alt/Title Text and Description fields in the pop-up. Now, after installing Justified Image Grid, the Foobox popup is only reading the description field. I want it to have the title in the Foobox popup also. Any ideas?
Second, Justified Image Grid is showing my quotation marks in the description as \” instead of just ” in the overlay on mouseover. How do I adjust that? AND, once the Foobox popup comes up, it stops reading any field at the first ” character.

first of all: GREAT PLUGIN! I purchased it yesterday … but first I had many problems on our server www.divarena.de, because I did not get the flickr and facebook accounts integrated in the admin panel. Flickr: “No user found” ... Facebook: “No albums yet”
After two hours without solving the problem, I installed the plugin on another site on another server … et voila: 1 Minute and everything looks fine .
We do not want to go with our complete site to the other server-company. I search a little bit on these comments and find for example this: “There is a server config that prevents it from loading content from a 3rd party site. The setting is allow_url_fopen. But it’s better to contact me and I’ll send you a version that uses CURL, until the next release version is done.”
Can this perhaps solve our problem, too ?!
