Hey Firsh, Great Plugin! Just wondering why the social media buttons do not show up at the bottom of the light box in my purchased version but they do in the preview you’ve provided?

Your theme already uses a version of prettyphoto, I think.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t. I cant find anything interfering with them displaying… this a great plugin but i have no use if I can’t utilize those share buttons. Thats what sold me on this plugin

Send me an E-mail (from my profile) and include your site’s url I’ll investigate what’s going on.

I could not add a Flickr User. It says “COMMUNICATING WITH FLICKR. IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE A MOMENT.”. Then nothing happens after that.

Sent you a file.

Hello,

If i do not put a limit on the number of images, will it take a lot of time to load the page ?

if there a way to make the other images open on page 2, 3 etc after the stated number of images in the limit

yes i am doing full page through a page .. i wanted a way to do it through Post, not only page .. is there a way for specific post without sidebars?

Sorry I don’t know. I guess it depends on your theme!

v1.4 is out! Load more is included.

Firsh! Help! I’ve never had this problem before… I have made a gallery, and there is tons of space after the gallery inside of the blog post.

Code inside of post: [justified_image_grid preset=5 row_height=150 link_title_field=title img_alt_field=alternate lightbox=prettyphoto mobile_lightbox=foobox min_height=700 orderby=title_asc limit=8 max_rows=4 mouse_disable=yes]

Blog post: http://www.weclicktexas.com/family-shoot-ol-blue/

Steps to resolve: Deleted gallery, inserted new gallery. Deleted post altogether, inserted new gallery. Deleted gallery, inserted new gallery. Deleted duplicated images from Media. Tried another browser.

Nada. Any ideas?

It’s the minimum height setting (min_height=700), just remove it. You only need that if you don’t have a sidebar and the footer would show up if the gallery wouldn’t take up enough space (just before loading). In your case it’s just taking up a lot of unused space.

Hi Firsh, Is it required to use images from the gallery or can I add images from the WP library that were uploaded through other post/page?

Thanks, that would be great, I will hold off looking for other solution.

Is it possible to take advantage of any of the lightboxes included with this plugin to give individual images inserted into content a lightbox functionality without building a gallery?

I edit posts/page mostly in the HTML editor so if I could just add a class or rel attribute to an image would be good enough for me as I prefer not to use the Visual editor unless I have to.

Thank you for your time.

No, this plugin’s files and/or its lightboxes are only activated if there is a gallery (my shortcode is used). If you like my customized prettyphoto I can add it to your theme as a custom job. The other lightboxes are free or paid but not customized by me.

I’ll notice you here if your request has been added or not to the upcoming update (v1.4 on Dec 17).

v1.4 is out! Your request has been included, as WP3.5’s gallery features build around it. IDs and include options will now pull unattached images from the library.

Is it possible to have the image grid display posts in a category on a specific page rather than just images from a feed?

I guess i thought this plugin could do it prior to purchase, now I don’t think it can :(

Yes it can, it’s the ‘recent posts’ feature. You have to enter the ‘include’ category ID’s you wish to pull posts from.

Thanks, I’m trying to do that right now without any luck.

Here’s the code I’m using : [justified_image_grid preset=1 row_height=200 lightbox=no mobile_lightbox=no last_row=match recent_posts=yes recents_description=auto_excerpt excerpt_ending=”View This Now” excerpt_length=20 recents_include=6]

Category 6 has 2 posts, both with featured images & posts in-body. It is showing nothing on the page itself.

Send me a mail through my profile and I’ll check it out for you.

Firsh, How are we notified of updates? Via WP plugin dashboard? Do you email us? I don’t want to miss an update!!! :-) Dana

v1.4 is out!

You’re the best! Installed & all previous posts still working perfectly. Can’t wait to use some of the new features… stepping out of my box… Firsh, you are really working hard and doing a FANTASTIC job!

Thank you very much!

Firsh how do i contact you?

In my profile there is a contact form.

Hey, thanks for that great plugin. I like it very much!

What I still miss in the current release is support for collections when integrating pictures from Flickr. Also it would be great if it was possible to choose more than one photo set in a gallery. Is there any chance for implementing those features in the next version?

Hey Firsh,

thanks for the fast answer. Yes, I think if there is more then one set in a collection, the sets should be merged together in the gallery. This way I can have small specialized galleries in articles by using photo sets and larger more generalized galleries in a photo section by using collections (in a travel blog site).

I did some coding in the last hours and implemented collections by myself (only for flat collections, no recursive nesting of collections yet). Works well so far. If you wish I can provide you with the modified code.

Another nice feature I would think of is a selection of flickr images by tag names imo, but that’s another topic… :-)

Kind regards

Thanks I’ll consider it. Tag names sound interesting. Ok you can contact me from my profile I can look into what you did.

Hi, you had a request for Flickr Collections for Justified Image Grid a year ago! I’m adding that feature as part of the Christmas update. If you are interested in the feature, I can offer it earlier as a beta, with your help as one of the beta testers.

Hi. Is Justified Image Grid capable of pulling posts from Facebook Page’s timeline? Let’s say just the posts that are actually images with description. If this is possible not just pulling images from albums it would be amazing. I hope I missed the function..

Many thanks.

There is an automatically created album on Facebook pages called ‘Timeline Photos’ you can select that in the plugin so it’ll load those.

Contact me so I can send you a version that fixes it for you. Otherwise your server should support openssl and allow_url_fopen.

Hi I just bought your plugin justified image grid. I’m trying to create a basic gallery which pulls from a public facebook brandpage. But its not able to connect. So I put in TaylorSwift and tried to re-create the gallery on your live demo page and its not working. Pls help

Hello Firsh,

I just bought an additional license for my little Mardi Gras site. Just to let folks know and understand, Mr. Firsh doesn’t have super elaborate checking to to see if you’re using his amazing Justified Image Grid plugin on multiple site using a license that was intended for a single website.

Folks, how do you expect a man like Mr. Firsh to make a living and continually update this plug-in every time Facebook/Flicker or WP changes things? Yeah. Lots of free stuff out there. You get what you pay for.

Plus, I remember a couple of nuns telling me way back when in Catholic School that stealing was a “mortal “sin.” Karma will get you too.

:)

Significantly though, you need to support developers so they can continue their good work.

‘Nuff preaching.

Happy Mardi Gras!

Shout out from New Orleans.

Mark

Thank you for enlightening people that they need to buy multiple regular licenses if they wish to use it more than one time.

Greetings Firsh,

First, this is a very slick, thoughtfully programmed bit of code – solid, – secure (I’ve checked) and it’s obvious the developer – Firsh – has spent countless hours with this project. The asking price is a bargain. $17 bucks? Worth ten times that and more.

The Facebook, Flicker and third party integration makes this super duper as you can actually use these services as an easy way to minimize duplicate work and, as a REALLY REALLY BIG plus – pulling photos from third party networks like Facebook and Flicker emulates a content deliver network and stuff loads quickly. Will you marry me? ;)

In addition, Mr. Firsh introduced me to FOOBOX (an add on well worth the price) which took care of so many issues I was struggling with in regards to porting my sites to a responsive theme, making stuff work with smart devices and all that stuff so in vogue and, actually, quite necessary and demanded of modern web design. Not that I’m an expert with all that yet.

I was going to send this question as a private e-mail. But, I decided that blowing a little “smoke” might help with sales. :) For Real Though.

Down to my question. I apologize if this was in the docs, but I couldn’t find it. I’m pulling photos from facebook. I love the Social Network stuff but the images are being pulled from the actual webpage as the Facebook and/or Flicker photos are in an iframe.

Is there a setting or tweak to force the gallery to grab the actual image pulled from these third party sources?

I hate to give out a working URL , but what the heck. Here’s a link to how I’m using the fabulous Justified Image Grid WP Plugin:

http://dotgay.com/dotgay_photos

Thanks dude.

A Shout out from New Orleans

Mark

Sorry but you are using another plugin on that link. The photos are the actual photos pulled from the third party AS-IS, but they are converted to a thumbnail. I don’t understand your question about the iframe thing. Are you referring to the images that the grid displays or what you share with the social share buttons in FooBox?

Yeah you right. It’s actually an issue with FOOBOX. The Social icons in the lightbox are pulling images posted to Facebook from the web page rather than grabbing the lightbox photo.

Sorry for the trouble.

Mark

I don’t know how foobox intends to share individual photos. If you were using prettyphoto I could apply a customization to your site to share the individual facebook photos using opengraph tags and some server side modification to the theme itself. Otherwise it’s out of my reach.

How do I increase the width of the grid, so it’s larger than 620px? The grid seems to be “stuck” at that value.

Thansk in advance.

It’s adapting to the parent container’s width, you need to increase that.

Hello i am thinking about purchasing this but had one question:

When you click an image, it shows tweet and pinterest share options.

Is there a facebook share option as well? Appreciate your feedback

Are you referring to FooBox or prettyPhoto? It’s up to the lightbox to provide sharing options. But my customization of prettyPhoto uses facebook like to the gallery page, and tweet, pin,g+ the individual picture.

Hi Firsh, Do you know of any issues of JIG not working for a multisite install, on a subdomain?

JIG doesn’t work here: http://danwalsh.imyourphotographer.co.uk/portfolio/horses/

But does work here: http://imyourphotographer.co.uk/portfolio/ak-fx-make-up-group-shoot/

Thanks, Dan

P.S. I provided my login details a few months ago. Let me know if you’d like them again.

I don’t know why it’s not working for you, it should be able to load the images from any domain. I haven’t tested it on a multisite install yet.

I’ve sent you something.

Dear Firsh …. is it possible to set the number of photos per row ?

I’ll see what I can do about it in the next version, as some people prefer cropping and have the same amount of photos, to make a normal grid but keep the features of my gallery. Is this why you’d like this feature?

Hi Firsh,

Just checking: ‘Load More’ pagination comes in the next version.

Do you mean the version 1.4 scheduled for december 17 (that would be great…) or another future release?

Thank you, Michel

Yes that one.

v1.4 is out as promised.

I keep getting the following error in IE8 and no images will display(all other browsers are perfect and everything is normal):

Message: Object doesn’t support this property or method Line: 1 Char: 7974 Code: 0 URI : http://mysite.com.au/wp-content/plugins/justified-image-grid-original/js/justified-image-grid-min.js?ver=1.3

In the IE8 debug screen it highlights the text: title=downloadLink=”“

I’ve tried using various lightboxes and jquery sources, all to no effect :-(

It’s some kind of conflict with another script on your site, most likely mootols. Contact me via E-mail again to have this sorted out.
