If you use Youtube videos, you can set default quality value or set auto quality, from 240p to 1080p. For self hosted videos, you can set HD and SD mp4 files as any quality you wish, with optional auto preload option.

Yes, it supports m3u8. Only SD/HD are available for m3u8 streaming. It also supports YouTube livestream so you can actually have 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p with YouTube live stream, maybe that will work for you

Hello, I am using this plugin on a client site and when I paste in a google drive direct link, it stops playing all players after viewing 3 different videos. I have a video course that we are running and after a user views the any 3 videos, the players do not play the videos anymore. The user typically needs to refresh or clear cache to get it to work again. Is there a reason why this is happening and how can this be fixed?
I did follow these steps and I have checked multiple computers and still having the same issue. I am embedding the player on a LearnDash topic page. Do you think there is a conflict with LearnDash and your plugin?
Just doing a little bit of searching and it looks like Google drive does have a playback limited. I am wondering if that affects how many times it is called up on the website and then has a playback limit error. The problem is that I can’t see the error because it is going through your plugin. What are your thoughts,

we use hls.js API and it’s related to their API. But, these are not js errors and have no impact on the plugin and behaviour. If you want to turn it off, you can do that in console settings – disable the options “Enable javascript source maps” “Enable CSS source maps”.

1. We use latest Youtube API. But, they do not provide options to us developers to hide certain elements, like you see in the demo (share, logo etc.). “More videos” window will remain hidden after user close it one time. This is how Youtube API works.

The current playlist bottom position for the YouTube player blocks the video playing and that’s a bad user experience. It’s even WORST on mobile.

I meant that YouTube API doesn’t provide us – developers, to have control over some elements, therefore we can’t hide Watch later, Share, Info buttons.

Yes, video ratio stretch is the option for that, and also with other option video ratio you can adjust video size to any size, so it can look like on youtube.com. Timeline is hidden when screen is smaller, try rotating your phone. We can add timeline over the video as custom work if needed, just like in Stellar player.

Video progress (and some other elements) will hide/show depending on the screen size and the parent container size where the player is placed. If you rotate device between landscape/portrait you’ll able to see it in action. If your goal is to have video track always visible over the video we will need to charge the customisation work. When using your WP version of Elite Video Player, I get black bars on the top and bottom of the video player << ONLY HAPPENS IF THE PLAYLIST OPTION IS TURNED OFF (only have one video) – If I have multiple videos and using either the bottom or the right-side playlist option (ON) – all fits in the container as it should AND THERE ARE NO BLACK BARS. The only way it works in either mode setting is to select the fitToBrowser option. (Which is not a viable option).
Can you explain? SETTING ratio = 1.77777777 (16:9) stretching video ratio does NOT correct the issue. Changing video source pixel size makes some difference, but really is NOT a solution – the video has an aspect ratio of one of these values >>> (1920×1080, 1280×720 or 960×540 pixels).
Two other items – not critical, but why in a playlist is the scrollbar so ugly and bulky (in the description box for overflowing text? The playlist scrollbar is very nice and looks great, but the individual descriptions for any playlist scrolling text is unpleasant to the eye. Can that be changed at all?
The other item concerns the on screen play button over the video (center) – is it possible to add a specific opacity value to the overlay, so you can see the underlying content better?
AGAIN – GREAT PRODUCT and the last two items are not deal-busters – but it would be a nice option to have.

there is option “Video ratio” from which you can set player size to fit exactly to video size. Use “fitToContainer” option as responsive option. See here. Btw, do you have the latest version? There is auto scrollbar from browser when number of text lines gets too large, but we can disable that if you like.

I appreciate your response, but I did try the mentioned setting and while I did see some impact when changing the options, the black bars remained when NOT using a playlist (single video only). —There seems to be an obvious relationship between the player and playlist that is NOT affected when using a playlist, but not the other way around.
By default, I always select the ‘fitToContainer’ option (always have).
I did NOT download the latest version, as you did some customization to the player for me in 2021. I do NOT want to mess up the customization.
Sometimes, compromise is the better solution. IF there is no workaround, so be it. I really like your WP player and will make due, if necessary. Just wanted to let you know about these items as a REAL-WORLD user of your great player.
To be honest, I don’t see the value of disabling the auto scrollbar. It implies doing so, will cause the text to be truncated. Sometimes limitation is a necessary evil. Of note, the auto scrollbar on a mobile device is nice and works well. The issue is with the desktop browsers and laptops.
