I want to display count of all images in post. I code this, But it not work. I’ve some galleries in one post.
First [justified_image_grid ids=147,40,39]
Second [justified_image_grid ids=164,165]
Third [justified_image_grid ids=168,169,170] The example what I need : Total images : 8
=============
I’ve tried different ways. I installed the “RealMedia Library” plugin and tried to get count by folder ID It works for one shortcode in post. But I have two and three shortcodes in one post and this is a problem.
$folder = wp_rml_get_object_by_id(5);// id = 5
if (is_rml_folder($folder)) {
$cnt = $folder->getCnt();
}
I really tried. I hope you will help:)
Hi, what you need is only possible with custom coding.
Thanks for answering! It’s good that this is even possible! You gave hope to my broken heart..
Where do you want to see this number? In the content of the very post with the grids? Or on a thumbnail that opens this post?
JIG shows for me in a normal browser window, but in an incognito window or private session, it doesn’t show.
https://pspbc.com/matt-annas-wedding/Hi, the difference in browser behavior stems from being logged in vs out. The culprit is rocket plugin’s script loading manipulation where it defers jQuery and loads it too late. JIG needs it to be in the page by the time it starts creating the grids, so make jQuery an exception in rocket lazy load script.
Considering purchasing your plugin. Just want to confirm that videos in a YouTube playlist can show as a grid via the plugin shortcode or widget. Your website shows putting the playlist link in as a RSS feed, is that correct. Will the video thumbnail be automatically captured? Will I need a Google YouTube API key? Thanks!
Can you show me an example on a site with a YouTube playlist feed? Thank you!
Hi,
It used to use RSS while YouTube offered that, it’s still in that area of the plugin for legacy reasons and it works quite similarly with the same limitations. Now it takes just the URL you’d see in the browser window and uses scraping to show a limited number of videos, with automatic thumbnails, without API. It’s subject to change (YouTube can change how it works, but eventually I’ll likely transition this feature to be API-based). Demo: https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/rss-feeds/youtube-gallery/
How many videos do you have in a playlist? The second example has 49 but not because it hit a limit but that’s how many they have in it. For playlist the limit is 100 videos in a single grid, last time I checked.
Thank you!
hi
i am planing to use this plugin for my viemo videos on my multilingual site. I want to use one shortcode for both languages (Eng, De) becuase i have same video content for both languages and i have a large numbers of videos to show, so i dont want to spend my time for both languages separately. I am using WPML plugin for translation. Please answers me ASAP!.
Thank You
Hi, you won’t need to create 2 different shortcodes/grids since with WPML the ids are switched behind the scenes for virtually-copied images with the other language’s captions and metadata. You can use custom links on video thumbnails to point to Vimeo videos that will play in the lightbox.
https://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/how-to-translate-galleries-with-wpml-and-justified-image-grid/ https://justifiedgrid.com/features/custom-links/If you don’t use WPML media and don’t have translations for the images then both languages will show the same grid.
Hi Firsh
You gave me this code to change the background colour on Photoswipe Lightbox .pswp__bg {background: grey !important }
I would like to “Theme” the entire Photoswipe Lightbox in grey. Is there code available to change the top, tool bar background, the bottom caption and description background and the navigation buttons background to grey?
But still have an opacity when there placed over an image in Mobile View?
Thank you
.pswp__ui--fit .pswp__caption, .pswp__ui--fit .pswp__top-bar {
background: rgba(127,127,127,0.6) !important;
}
.pswp__caption__center, .pswp__caption small {
color: #f1f1f1 !important;
}
Thanks very much. Justified Image Grid is the best gallery plugin out there…
Thanks
I replied to your further question via email.
Hello Firsh! I have images url like this: “src=”https://mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/justified-image-grid/timthumb.php?src=https%3A%2F%2F*.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Ftab_11-2021_6.jpg&h=310&w=464&q=45&f=.jpg” Is there any way to change timthumb url like this: “src=”https://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/image_name.jpg” ?
You can disable the entirety of timthumb and pick an already existing thumbnail size generated by WP. It will not be a perfect match to your grid settings (row heights) but will achieve what you need. JIG plugin settings, TimThumb tab, disable. Also there is a setting to base thumbnails on which size.
When building or editing a grid (using JIG>Grids>Wordpress Media Library>IDs>Edit Gallery) the Edit Gallery thumbnails of images included in that gallery don’t all load. I can reorder images (or add new ones) but any thumbnails that haven’t loaded get removed from the gallery when saving changes. It’s always different thumbnails that won’t load.
I have this issue on 3 different websites, with 3 different JIG installs/licenses and it’s just been happening recently. All sites/plugins are fully updated, I’ve scoured the Support Center with no luck. Anyone have any thoughts or experiencing this as well? Thanks!
How many images need to be in the gallery to start experiencing that? I haven’t encountered this. Is there anything else common among these sites? If you disable JIG and just create galleries via Gutenberg and later edit the gallery block itself, do you experience the same thing? Latest WP versions have been known to mess with that interface (e.g. ordering broke recently).
- All the sites’ galleries have more than 15 images. - If i use the wordpress media gallery builder directly the problem does not happen. - This issue happens even editing from other locations (wifi speed), and using other browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)
PS- using the wordpress gallery builder and copy/pasting the image IDs into a JIG grid is a good idea for a workaround in the meantime, by the way, Thanks!
The commonalities between the sites are: All hosted on Bluehost, All use Divi theme. Note that this issue was not happening previously and I was using the same host and theme then. I can’t recall what updates might have happened between the last time I built a grid and now (theme, plugins, JIG etc.)
I should also mention that I don’t seem to have a problem with thumbnails loading when I start a new JIG grid. Only when I go back in to an existing one.
Could you please let me temporary access to one of your sites (send me a message from my profile)? I have divi (received by a customer having similar issues if I recall correctly) but I’m unable to reproduce it here.
Also, I know it’s a paid workaround but you might want to consider for long-term gallery managment if you have hundreds of photos, the Real Media Library plugin. I’m dedicated to make the JIG compatibility with that plugin even better. Currently considering adding a selector for RML folders/galleries directly in the Gutenberg/Elementor block, so one could create RML-JIGs in the builder without creating grids. Also on the roadmap are others like a block for Divi.
A block for Divi would be incredibly helpful! Also, I sent you a message w temp access info for the site.
Facebook videos are not responsive in the Lightbox on desktop they keep getting cutoff. Do you have any suggestions? https://timberlakeranch.com/video/
Looks like a bug with vertical videos. Contact me from my profile so I can work with your content to resolve the issue and give you a beta that’ll fix it for you earlier than public release.
Hi, long time! I know support has expired. Previous plugin version, captions/title showed on mobile… they no longer do. I use overlay and when curser pauses, title/captions show. works fine on chrome, edge and firefox. not on iphone or ipad… hopefully I am missing a setting? I have not changed settings since original set up… 2017!! Thanks!
Hi, can you please send me the URL to where this is happening?
MIA and sorry! Ok, back to project, i am using a shortcode on page, and I have no idea where it’s coming from, as there is no gallery created for this… probably from a zillion years ago
. As far as I remember, the title and description showed below image in mobile. Now there an image shows with whatever fixed amount of text characters seem to be set, somewhere… and no title or description in lightbox… Possibly this is not possible, and I remember wrong? Possible! https://maryspears.com/commissions/ . the shortcode is: [justified_image_grid preset=c3 ids=2500,2069,2467,2067,423,431,432,433,434,436,439,440,456,358,1636,1637,1654,1638,1563,906,831 orderby=rand]
And I’ve attempted to create a few new galleries with the presets, but can’t seem to get the text info to show in mobile. Without wasting a bunch of your time, suggestions? thank you!
Unles you have a large site with many galleries the groups of which need to be styled together, don’t use custom presets. So remove that from the shortcode.
Better yet, bring that shortcode to the grids system (you can import shortcodes so you no longer need to see the ugly chain of IDs and such). There you can play with live preview.
The fixed amount of caption space under the thumbnail is the caption height setting on the captions tab. The lightbox text is controlled under the “what text to show” section of the lightboxes tab.
Also, I don’ recommend using the dark look on a bright site.
Good evening. I have purchased your image Grid plugin. Its great thank you. I have managed to get it working by reading the documentation. I only have one issue that I cannot solve. I am using RSS to pull a Vimeo Channel through to the grid. The channel has 14 items while the grid only pulls through 10. I have updated the “Initially load” to 25 with no result. Any suggestions on that would be amazing.
It sounds like that’s how many items are in the feed. Can you share the RSS feed or the channel URL so I can verify this? I’ll eventually create a dedicated, API-based Vimeo feature for the plugin, but for now it’s accessed via RSS. The number of items you see is limited by the number of items in the feed at any one time and the number is set by Vimeo and is subject to change. It used to be 25, but channels might be different. If you just bought it and can’t use it for the purpose you wanted, you can get a refund.
Thank you so much for your quick reply. here is the RSS url https://vimeo.com/channels/1768524/videos/rss
Kind regards
Good afternoon Firsh. Thank you again for the support. I feel like I am not equipped to setup and manage this Plugin due to my lack of experience. I would like to request a refund. It is by no means a reflection on you or the product, As I only see great things being said about your support and the Product Itself. Kind regards Craig
Yes it’s what I thought, Vimeo limited the feed to 10 instead of 25. Sure, request it via CodeCanyon, I can’t initiate it.
Thank you so much. Keep well
Sorry it took so long I just noticed it.
Just saw latest update for JIG and I can’t lie … I got a little excited to see that JIG now has a widget for Elementor! I’ve been meaning to ask about support for Elementor for awhile now and I’m glad to see you added it. Keep up the good work!
Thanks
I hope it’s not a letdown that it just previews your grid and lets you choose a grid. It didn’t seem meaningful to port all settings to the Elementor interface but I do plan on offering a bit more with it.
If you take a look at the Gutenberg block it can direct you to new grid creation then once you are back, reload the list or even refresh changes you did and see them in the builder’s preview.
Once I revamp the presets / custom presets feature then a preset selection in the block + some “on the fly source selection” would be useful I guess, perhaps just a simple image picker from the media library if nothing else. I’ll see.
Uh, yeah …... just did a little application and I see what you mean. And for about 97% of everything on my site I just use the same short code with a different Real Media Library ID so the grid thing doesn’t really apply to me. But, I did find I could use a grid and just add the RML ID as needed. But regardless I’m glad because it will make things a bit easier than how I was doing it before …... creating the short code on a “scratch” page and copy & pasting it to the new post via the short code widget. So that “on the fly source selection” would be exactly what I could use. If you need a testing ground I’d love to help.
Yeah no more copy pasting. Ideally you should never see the shortcode unless you are doing something advanced and putting that into PHP.
Well it’s about where do I draw a line of putting some of the source selectors in the JIG Gutenberg block’s sidebar.
Adding a WP image picker? No, I’d rather add an option to the native Gutenberg gallery block allowing you to exclude from autotakeover or choose a preset.
RML dropdown? Sure, when it’s available (installed). Anything to make life easier.
Recent post configration or Facebook/Flickr content pickers? They are probably too complex to fit there.
By the way, there is no limit in how many grids you can create and how many will show up in the new JIG block’s dropdown, more than a 100 is okay. I personally used my plugin with the block on a site with over 50 grids and close to 10K images (with RML), and I also see the need for the on the fly creation, at least with RML ID.
By the way, RML also has a Gutenberg block, perhaps allowing that to be taken over by JIG and/or extending their settings could be useful.
All that sounds really cool. I am looking forward to what you have planned. And while I’m using Elementor – I’ve just gotten too old & busy to learn new coding – I still haven’t wrapped my head around that Gutenberg thing. I’m using a plugin that restores the old text editing feature. Once again Firsch, thanks for everything!
Ah sorry, yes I do plan on adding some tweaks to Elementor integration too, so it looks a bit more lively. I used to dislike Gutenberg heavily, but recently it became better and better. I have every major WP version installed incrementally since 4.9, and it used to be abysmal. I used to have that classic editor plugin as well, but I can’t rely on it for people to access the shortcode editor, maybe I’ll need to rename it to just grid editor or something. Even just to write blog posts the new editor feels better. Stay tuned for more RML-related tweaks, I’m in touch with its developers.
I need my licence unbound from the old domain (which no longer exists) – for auto updates
Done!
Hey, thanks a lot for adding webp support!
Stay tuned, I plan to expand upon that, so the originals won’t need to be webp.
Full WebP support is out! Changelog: https://justifiedgrid.com/support/changelog-update-history/#v4_3
update 4.2.1 is available not see it
Hi, what do you mean? It’s the version you get when you download it from here, also that’s what the autoupdate system sends to your WP dashboard.
Do you already know when the new version will be released that fixes the Gutenberg issue mentioned above? i’d really need it
Drop me a message from my profile using the account you used to purchase it with and I’ll send the beta right away. I’ll need to test things and package it up before I can release it, but it’s coming in a few days.
I’ve submitted v4.2 for review, but it’s available in the auto update system.
It would be REALLY cool to have a feature to auto reload the gallery. For example, I have 50 images in a gallery, of which 10 random images can be shown on the page due to the max’s I have set. It would be cool if I could say ‘every 6 seconds, reload and grab another 10 random images instead”.
Would that poll the server every 6 seconds or just hide 40 and keep them in a stash and rotate what’s shown? Interesting idea by the way, perhaps one day as an addon.
First step would be randomizing via JS on page load (currently the server does it).
For now I’m focused on improving speed and stability of the current features and increasing compatibility with today’s standards.
After updating to the latest wordpress 5.9, the lightbox is not loading.

Hi, where is JIG on that page? I can’t seem to find it being used there.
If you are using Gutenberg gallery block, there was a change which disables JIG’s autotakeover. I’m working on a solution and the next release will bring it back. If you think this is the case for you, send me a private message and I’ll give you the beta. It’s not yet clear if it affects only new gallery blocks or old ones as well.
You got it right!! Yes, I am using Gutenberg gallery block. It’s affecting the new gallery blocks only. For older posts, if i update the post, it’s getting effected too.
I have already sent you a private message, can you please check it?
Yes I found your mail and sent you the beta, I hope it solves it for you. I’m now testing it on older WP versions since Gutenberg changed so quickly.
Hi Firsh. Since I have updates Wordpress to the latest version 5.9 I have problems with JIG on mobile view. Before my galleries shows 2 images per row, now it´s only one image and additionally I can´t open the images in the lightbox.
Did you know about this problem? I already cleard all my cache, but it doesn´t help. Maybe you can take a look on it if it is a bug? Michael from One-Million-Places.com
I think it´s a confict with WPRocket and the function “Remove unused CSS”
Hi, caching plugins can freeze your desktop state and carry that over to mobile view since for now JIG uses server-side mobile detection. Can you configure that plugin to create a different cache for mobile visitors?
Great plugin with tons of options. I noticed one bug: The random order only works when I am logged in. Is it me or JIG?
That is likely due to a caching plugin that only works while being logged out. JIG has server-side randomization at the moment. The caching plugin freezes a state in time.
That’s exactly it. Thanks!
Click on all images on this page to see what are we asking here; 1. Single image in a PAGE and on click it opens a LIGHT BOX gallery in fullscreen. 2. Images gallery in a PAGE with FIXED height x VARIABLE width but only in ONE (single) ROW all gallery images could swipe and scroll on buttons click and also clicking on any of these images opens a LIGHT BOX gallery in fullscreen
Hi,
1. A single image will open a single image in the lightbox, multiple single images separated by text on the page will not be grouped together unless you use a 3rd party lightbox.
2. Without entering a lightbox, there is no swiping action left and right when JIG is constrained to a single row.
