Presale Question! Can I make an AIL with the trademark symbol in it? For example: Trademark™ – I have a few other plugins that do automatic internal links and none of them will pick up on this. It will only pick up the word: “Trademark”, but as soon as I add the ™ symbol – it wont auto link.

I confirm that you can create automatic internal links with the keyword “Trademark™”. Proceed as follows:
- In the Interlinks -> AIL menu create an autolink with the keyword “Trademark™”
- Set the Left Boundary and Right Boundary options of the autolink to “None”.
- Save the autolink
Please note that if in the post content you store HTML entities instead of the symbols you should use these HTML entities also in the Keyword field of the autolink.

Another issue I ran into with the other plugins was using apostrophes – can this plugin also use those in keywords? For example in the other plugins “Tims” would auto link, but “Tim’s” would not. I’m still going to buy because symbols work, but am also curious about this as well!

if you are referring to the auto internal links you can delete or modify them from the Interlinks -> AIL menu or reduce the number of applied links with the Interlinks -> Options -> Advanced options.
If you are referring to the manual links you have to edit the post and remove them with the editor in use.

I followed the procedure you provided in the comment above, however we’ve noticed the “Enable AIL” on posts, the toggle between yes and no, no longer works on individual posts. Selecting ‘No’ doesn’t effect anything.

the Advanced -> Enable AIL option determines the default value of the Interlinks Options -> Enable AIL meta-box. The meta-box value is actually used to determine if the AIL should be applied or not on the specific post.

I’ve updated the plugin a couple of weeks ago, but it seems the upgrade broke the plugin, there are not any AIL links anymore on my website.
When I check the Interlinks > Options (tab AIL), the ‘Post Type’, ‘Categories’, ‘Tags’, ‘Term Group’ are empty/blank and I can’t add or edit nothing.

the plugin should be updated with this procedure: (in case you didn’t use this procedure please perform step 1 and step 3)
- In the Plugins menu click “Deactivate”
- Update all the plugin files via FTP
- In the Plugins menu click “Activate”
The database upgrade and options upgrade associated with the new version are performed during the “Activate” process.
If you can’t solve the the procedure above please contact us via the “Support” tab and create a temporary WordPress account so we can verify the status of the database and options.

Hi. I need to upload files from ahrefs. I have a excel file with my keywords and corresponding urls where I rank in Google. I need to be able to link other posts to these urls in the excel file with that given keyword. Can I achieve that with this plugin? I have over 11k posts so I need to be able to upload as typing in manually isn’t an option.

you can create automatic internal links based on a spreadsheet file with a list of keywords, links and optionally the title attribute of the links from the Interlinks -> Wizard menu of the plugin.

Ok, gotcha so it’s an additional anchor text you can make if need but you don’t need to utilize it correct? And again my csv has keyword in column 1 and url in column 2 and the plugin will convert my keywords into anchor text using column 1 and column 2?

this is not possible because because the Site Address (URL) (in your cases yourwebsite.com/blog/) will be used as a base for all the internal links.

No, multiple AIL with the different forms of a word should be created. At the moment the system doesn’t allow to include the different forms of a word under the same AIL.

there isn’t an option to set the date range, but you can set the Advanced -> Enable AIL option to “No” (so that the autolinks will not be applied by default) and manually enable the autolinks when you create the posts with the Interlinks -> Options -> Enable AIL meta box.

As it looks its not possible to get it working with other languages. It keeps jumping from /en/ to /de/ and for all links not just the one that I want to set.

if you want a single match per keyword in the same post in the Interlinks -> AIL menu set the Limit option of each AIL to “1”. For future AIL set the default value in the Interlinks -> Options -> AIL menu.
If you want to set a fixed general limit per post the Interlinks -> Advanced -> General Limit (Amount) option should be used.

Hi, if I have 20 posts that can linked with a a keyword, say iPhone. And in a new blog post I have mentioned iPhone 10 times, is there a way to create an auto linking for the word iPhone to be linked out to different posts under one blog post. I am asking because I have a big site with 10k of pages, and I don’t want the same keyword going to one single URL only, when there are hundreds of “iPhone” articles I can link to.

- Create multiple AIL with the keyword “iPhone” and the same Priority value in the Interlinks -> AIL menu
- Set the Interlinks -> Advanced -> Random Prioritization option to “Yes”.

an update with new options available in the Interlinks -> AIL menu will be released in January. The Keyword Before and Keyword After fields will be added. (so you can match a keyword only when it’s preceded or followed by specific strings) A negative match like the one describe in your example will be considered, but I can’t guarantee about an actual implementation at the moment.

Hello, thanks for reaching out, it is not resolved, I can’t leave the AIL on with the filter options set at their highest level. This is a live site and it breaks the gallery so I had to disable. But you can turn AIL on to troubleshoot, but please turn it off unless you can resolve the issue of why it breaks the gallery. Appreciate your help.
When the filter priority is set to “2147483646” under the advanced tab, cache is cleared, in place of the gallery is a chunk of code:

I set the Left Boundary and Right Boundary of the keyword “shutters” to “White Space” to solve. There was a match in an attribute of an Elementor element that caused the parsing of the gallery to fail.
Other solutions are also possible. You can for example disable the automatic links in a specific page with the Enable AIL option in the Interlinks Options meta box or exclude specific HTML tags in the plugin options.

How did you figure out the keyword shutters was causing the issue and did you set it specifically on that keyword or over the entire AIL settings?
The automatic links applied by the plugin have a “data-ail” attribute, so it’s easy to identify where they are applied by inspecting the page HTML. I set it only for that keyword.
Is it possible to set the boundary at a global level to address instead of doing it by keyword?
You can set the default values in the Defaults options section, but not global values at the moment.
Is it possible to exclude the gallery by HTML tag?
The Interlinks -> Advanced -> Protected Tags option should be used but the slider uses the non-existing tag “rs-fullwidth-wrap”. So you would have to wrap the gallery in an existing tag and then exclude it.
Also how do you limit the number of the same keyword linked on 1 page to a maximum of 2?
By setting the Limit field of the specific keyword to “2” in the Interlinks -> AIL menu.
