I want to use this plugin for a hospital ecard system … Are we able to customize this plugin to have all posts be sent to a general email instead of the recipients email?
Not directly, you’d have to modify the plugin’s code. I could help you do it, after you purchase it, if I have access to your WordPress installation. It’s an easy task.
Hello, I saw that your plugin is offered in the Xmas buddle. That’s awesome!
Will you offer support to people who purchased the bundle? I remember from a last bundle that it causes issues because of no purchasing codes
Thanks!
Hello, thank you. It’s awesome, indeed!
I will offer support, yes. I’m not sure if users who download the bundle will be able to download any future updates. I’ll ask around.
You are welcome to take a look. The site is www.freegayecards.net/mobile. The page in question is ‘Kimura’ on the navigation menu at the top. I would gve you some sample code here but it just renders the images on this page rather than the code. I can email you code if this will help?
Thanks for your continuing help.
Of course it send 56 eCards at once!
You have placed all eCard posts in one page (a category archive showing the entire content instead of the excerpt). The expected behaviour of the eCards plugin is:
General Category (with only titles or thumbnails or a small text) -> Individual Post (with an eCard inside) -> Send an eCard using the form.
Quick follow-up from my previous post. I have exactly 56 card images with the send form attached on that particular page so somehow by pressing the send button for the first card in the stack, the code has been read 56 times and I confirmed that 56 emails were received in my Gmail account. Sigh.
I don’t have any idea, I did not test it with mobile themes. May I see your site? I may be able to debug it.
I just did a test card send from my Samsung smart phone because I am using a Wordpress mobile template (I intend my e-cards site to be mobile/cell phone friendly), however, when I sent the card, the ‘eCard sent successfully’ message appeared 56 times above the e-card concerned.
Any ideas what may be causing this and how to fix it?
Many thanks.
Simon
I can’t edit the settings screen for this plugin, I keep getting an error that says I do not have sufficient permission
Hi,
I have buy your script and look like it working, but how can i set in pictures? I have used det shortcode [ecard] on a page, but i dont see any picture.
Best Regards,
You need to insert images using the Insert button in the WordPress post page. Just insert any picture, as you would do in any regular post.
Thanks for your help on the email problem.
It appears that the cards go straight to a spam folder on MSN and Gmail but they don’t turn up at all in Yahoo. It’s a bit hit and miss. I guess the only way to make sure they arrive in an inbox is to warn users to use an email that is already on the recipient’s white list.
Hi, i use a paid lightbox in my website .. will the lightbox work while using the ecard script ?
can i use the ecard plugin in all my posts (all of them have images) ?
thanks
Thanks for your reply. I just found two of the cards in my junk folder at my hotmail account. Never appeared in the gmail account. Apart from telling users to check their junk folders, is there any way to force delivery to an inbox rather than a junk folder? Silly question probably but just thought I would ask.
Thanks for your help. I will try sending to Gmail again.
There is no way of forcing the email. This way, there would be no spam.
I’m working on an advanced emailing function for the plugin, so make sure you check the CodeCanyon page for future updates.
Hello,
I’ve just installed this plugin and here is my problem. I am running WP 3 .4.2 with a mobile site theme (Smooci 2). I’ve added a test post and added the [ecard] shortcode to the html for the picture post.
Looks fine on the site in preview. Have tried twice to send a test card to my gmail address, both from site preview and logged out of WP. The plugin reports that the two cards have been sent but they never appear in my email. I tried sending the card on your live demo and this also never appears in my gmail account. They are not in the junk/spam folder either. I am using Google Chrome.
I have no idea what to do to sort this problem. Thanks.
Simon
The demo on my site works fine, I try it a minute ago, I also use a Gmail account. Can you try on a different email address?
Hi,
Great Plugin!
How can i translate the submission form? PO files are supplied, but i don’t know how to activate them.
Thanks
You need to add your language code inside the wp-config.php file.
Add define (‘WPLANG’, ‘en_US’); for example for English.
Also, if the language file does not exist, you can create your own translation file using POEdit. What’s your language?
I cannot get the email that is sent to the recipient to work out properly.
I try to add in some template tags into the wysiwyg editor in the plugins option like this:
Senders Name: {Sender’s name} Senders Email: {Sender’s email}
However, in the email (using thunderbird) it shows up like,
\\\”\\\” You have received an eCard from Senders Name: {Sender\\\’s name} Senders Email: {Sender\\\’s email}
Here is my dev site http://dev.trewknowledge.com/sandbox/?p=8
Thanks!
Those are not template tags, those are just examples. Where I wrote {Sender’s email}, the actual sender’s email will appear. That’s all.
My bad, I was misreading the instructions.
With your plugin am I able to modify the email template? For example, centre the content, change colors…etc.
Yes, why don’t you try and play with the editor? It has the same features as the post editor.
Hi there, with your plugin, is it possible to add multiple plugins for different images or is there a capability to have multiple images available for sending? My situation calls for a user to have the ability to select from various images then send the ecard. Any ideas or support would be appreciated.
Thanks
Well, I’ll give you an idea. Why don’t you set up a category and add, say, 10 posts with one image, instead of adding one post with 10 images?
You can’t send or select multiple images with my plugin right now, although I recall two other clients requesting this. Maybe I’ll implement it in a future version. Right now, you can only tweak your theme.
Okay, that sounds like a good idea. Thank you for the quick response! I will give this a try and see how we make out!
Hello There,
I am test driving the script the problem is i am not getting the ecard in the email. I tried my 2 different email accounts but still not getting email notification or card. When i click send it gives me eCard sent successfully! but i am not getting the card. Can you please help.
Thanks
It’s probably in the spam folder.
Hi,
There is an email conflict between S2Member plugin and wordpress ecards. In S2Member there is an option that allow to customize:
-Email From Name: Change “wordpress” to something else.
-Email subject and Email message received by users when they register.
If i activate the wordpress ecards plugin:
Email from name: change back to “Wordpress”
And the user message displays in one signle line. I think that the wordpress ecards removes <p></p> tags.
I have hundreds of members, i was forced to disable the plugin.
Regards
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll fix the conflict and update the plugin.
Hi, Have you found a solution concerning Wordpress Ecards and S2member plugin?
Yes, I have. Update is coming tonight.
Hi, I tried the new version; The Email name : fixed; but Wordpress ecards still remove the paragraph tags from messages.
Everything OK. My fault sorry and thanks for the update.
I’m glad to hear it’s fixed. I didn’t have any paragraph filters, and the latest update didn’t have any content filters at all.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. The link to the website I’m working on is umatcannes2012.com. I’m using a theme purchased on themeforest called Retro Portfolio. I installed the latest version of the e-card plugin and also tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I’m on WordPress 3.4.2. The Retro Portfolio theme basically uses a portfolio section, which I’ve used to create the e-card. I have 10 e-cards there, and on each post there is one image, and then the [ecard] shortcode. Do you need any other info?
It’s the theme. A nice theme, by the way. All images are on the same page, and they open in a lightbox. They should be, like all other themes, in separate posts. Don’t you have an option in your theme to open posts in separate pages?
Thank you so much for your response, I’ll look into it. I really love the code, so I want to make it work with this theme.
Hi, I’m having an issue with the plugin where it sends all of the e-cards (I have ten on the website) at the same time. It also creates a link to the e-card that doesn’t exist. Can you help?
No, I can’t. Not unless you send me a link, or tell me what you’ve already tried. I don’t know what version of the plugin you’re using, what version of WordPress are you using, how your theme is structured and so on.
Hi!
I’m sending up a membership site and I will only allow logged in users to be able to send eCards. They will be able to earn points/rewards based on their activity and the number of eCards they have sent.
Is there a way to do that through the plugin?
Thanks!
Hi, sorry for the late reply, it will be done in the next version, in a couple of days. The page will only be visible to logged in users (based on an option in the plugin’s settings) and the rest is your job.
Cheers!
Sounds good. How about the rewards part? Will I have to connect it to the plugin myself or is there an integration with a rewards plugin that I can use?
Also, can you let me know when will the new version be available for download?
Thanks!
The new version is released. It has a new option, members only restriction, and a message for restricted use.
Regarding the rewards, the plugin is not using extra database tables, so it’s not possible. I want to keep it light, and a rewards system would be outside of its scope. I don’t know about a rewards plugin, you could search the WordPress repository, maybe you can find something there.
I, too, have installed the ecards, and it seems to work fine. BUT and it’s a big BUT the image refuses to show up in inbox.
I deactivated all plugins, still didn’t show image. So it doesn’t appear to be a plugin.
I receive html and image rich content in my emails regularly, so it’s not those settings.
Help???
What email client are you using? What WordPress version are you using? Did you select the “link only” option inside plugin’s options?
