Hello. I purchased this plugin today. I have a form on my site. When it is submitted, a post is automatically generated. Within the form you can add images. I would like the images to create a gallery in the post. I thought the images were attaching to the post when submitted, but they are just being added to the wp media gallery. Is there any way to automatically add the images uploaded on the form to a gallery on the post that is generated?
Does the form create any other relationhip for the images with the post? How do you know about a certain image where it was uploaded to? Does the form use a different user perhaps? Or are these images tagged/categorized? Using some information like that it would be possible to construct a gallery with just those images.
I’m a newbie. I’m not sure. I’m using Caldera Forms.

If it’s just like any other image attached to a post then yeah sure. That’s the default behavior of the shortcode without any parameters. If it doesn’t work like you imagined it would, we can grant a refund.
When changing preset, images becomes blured : is it a normal behavior (im using Smush to optimize images) ? Thx
Hi, blurred as in a special effect, or crappy blur like pixelation and low quality? Some presets like orton effect or magnifier do make use of the special effect, you can turn that off on that tab. JIG creates its own thumbnails, using smush has little effect unless you disable timthumb.
Well it seems like if Jig was using an unappropriated size. In fact, i was using the 1st preset and now i’m using the 4th preset which use bigger thumbnails so, i don’t know if Jig create thumbnails for each preset or if it use default WordPress thumbnails. In that case, for me throught Smush because i’m using Smush… I will try to disable timthumb, it could be a good way Thank you
If you have timthumb on, it does generate different thumbnails according to presets. In fact it uses the combined value of row height + row height deviation for the height of the thumbnails in that particular grid. Presets have these row heights used differently so it tries to generate thumbnails at the maximum height required by these row height settings. If you disable timthumb and use wp thumbnails with smushit, it’s always going to be random (defined by the theme) what thumbnail sizes you have available and how they relate to the row height settings. In that case you might see ugly upscaling, or too high resolution thumbnails.

One thing I’d need to do: How could I show only one certain taxonomy’s products on a grid? I have added a custom product taxonomy titled “photographer” and I am able to show the images with that filtering but how could I show only pics from that one specific photographer?
The settings for that are very similar and available, but not to be found on Filtering tab. Look at the Recent Posts tab and you can pre-filter the gallery there by custom taxonomy + term.

Dear support, for some strange reason, the plugin buttons in the settings page are not functioning. Hence make the application unusable. De-activating/ or reinstallation of the plugin did not made any difference. Same applies in different browser (Edge Chromium & Firefox).

Nope, JIG won’t alter the images in any way. We recommend the batch processing to include the watermarks before upload (when you do resizing and web optimization anyway), in software such as xnview mp, Lightroom, ACDsee.

If ACF creates custom post meta and you want to show them as caption then yes for that purpose it’s compatible. Or how else are you using it? Wpallimport we are not familiar with, not sure what aspect of it would JIG need to support.
Hi, our site was now just relounched, the only thing i miss is show “last gallerys instead of last pictures” maybe this can be made one time, as long as the missing i use last pictures. Thank you so much. But I have just one bug i can not fix myself, maybe you got an idea. When watching any gallery, the 2 footer “boxes” i use for last pictures and random pictures of one extra gallery are just missing. That is currently by design. While multiple instances can be used on the same page, this specific case in an exception. In case of these auto-generated pages (once you enter a NextGEN album/gallery), the “what to show” is dictated by what’s in the URL. The first/original JIG will act upon that, while others default to showing nothing to prevent showing the same thing 2x or 3x. There may be a way to let them keep showing what you originally wanted, and we’ll explore that possibility for an update.

Hello, I am starting a new project, where I would like to use JIG to display a grid of PDFs. Since Wordpress 4.7 PDF thumbnails are automatically generated. When I try to insert the ID of a pdf file it renders: “There are no photos with those IDs or the post 696 does not have any attached images! Source selection is missing from this grid.”
Is there any possibility to make Jig work with PDFs too?

Thank you for the tip, we added PDF support to the todo so we’ll check it out, and you’ll get noticed if/when this feature is implemented. Currently it’s not possible, when JIG was created, PDFs didn’t have any thumbnail, they showed up just as regular files.

How is it possible to have a gallery with mixed media source (images from Media Library and video from Youtube?)
Distinct sources like Facebook and Flickr can’t be combined, but in your case if Youtube content is not automatic (playlist or channel), then it’s possible. You’d just custom link a few images (that will only act as thumbnails) to Youtube videos and in the lightbox you’ll see the video instead of the image.
I’m having trouble figuring out the best way to achieve the following. I’d like to have a primary image pulled from the WPML, this primary image when clicked on will show the other image IDs associated with the grid.
I set the target row height, which seems to work on normal desktop browsing. However upon viewing on mobile, or reduced desktop resolution the second image is pulled in on the same row.
Is there an easy way to show one primary image in all resolutions and when clicked on display the lightbox with the other images?
By WPML you mean media library? With Real Media Library (there is also a free version) you can do something like the 2nd example here: https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/wp-real-media-library/galleries/ Is that what you need? If so, other/free sources can also do it (but native media library can’t yet do something like it). We’ll work on making it possible with Recent Posts so you won’t need another plugin.

I am almost there where i want to be to release my new site. One big problem i could not solve myself is, i want the ability to share galleries not only single pictures. So is bought MashShare and enabled it on all sites. Ir works everywhere but on all Gallery Sites it only shares the main menu point /fotos not the link to the site it is on like /fotos/alben/2020/27-09-20-poetry-slam-wehr/

Meaning that all likes and shares on all networks will still count towards the original page, not the virtual pages. This is the cost of automating these galleries.
If you were to manually create a page/post for each gallery, then these would be real standalone pages with full sharing, and also your “5 latest” idea would work with JIG Recent Posts. But yeah we understand it’s more manual work.
Thx alot for the wonderfull support, i will try that with the pages, tryed one testpage but the sharer did not take the right picture and just the sourcecode [ngg ….] so i think this is a problem NGG should have a look at, maybe they can fix this.
Maybe we can take a loot at if from our side. JIG’s Facebook and Flickr uses the same thing as NextGEN (how it allow adding extra bits at the end of an URL to create this virtual page), and the problem exists there too. In a way it started with NextGEN, but there should be a way to fix it from JIG’s side of things as we need it for not just NextGEN.

Hi, is it possible to include an image count in the menu for the filters on a gallery pulled from Wordpress’s own Media Library. For example, if our tags are by year, could we add a count next to each year? 2020 (10 images) 2019 (43 images) 2018 (71 images) etc.
The cloud style for filters means that the system is aware of the sizes of the batches returned hey? SOme filter names have font size larger than others, depending on how many images they will return.
Is this something we can do with settings? or with jquery and hooks?

It’s a planned feature. Yes the system is aware of the counts, but we wanted to take it one step further and update the counts dynamically when you use both levels of filtering (and hide combinations that have no images). Currently there is no way to reveal the counts with settings, nor we know of a custom script that would do it. The weights of each in the tag cloud style is measured using a tiny jquery plugin at justified-image-grid-v4.0.1-dev.zip/js/justified-image-grid.js line 3500+ so JIG itself is not yet keeping count, only indirectly.

What source do you use to manage those Albums? If they have their own page/post then you could do it with JIG recent posts. NextGEN has a trick to take to the manually-created page on which a “gallery” is supposed to be shown.
Source would be NGG. I dont use them inside posts/pages, just use Album for 2020 for example and then every week (now with corona some less..) 2-3 new Gallerys. I could not manage to let like last 5 Albums view only last 5 Pictures – on the Landingpage, and then the problem is, when clicking on one picture it does not open the gallery in a new window, it just opens the whole gallery inside the “widget”
Last 5 albums or last 5 galleries? If you add 2-3 new galleries, don’t you want to show last 5 galleries? But yes, it’s either straight to lightbox (1 thumbnail = many images in its own lightbox group, doesn’t take you away from the page), or navigates away but loads the gallery in place of the original shortcode. So if you put this in the sidebar, the gallery will also load in the sidebar, there is currently no way around it.
Only if you manually create a page (maybe post?) for each gallery, and use the “link to” in NextGEN when editing such gallery. JIG will pick this up as “custom link” and skip the lightbox and skip the virtual page.
Sorry Albums, Gallerys… always mix this both… sorry for that and thanks so much for the great support!!! i only use one Album per year, so what i need is to show last 5 GALLERIES on front page, straigt to lightbox would be a workaround, but i only get last pictures, maybe i am blind but where can i load last 5 galleries?
Belcovio i checkt this again on your demo site and so on, there is only “Recent Pictures” inside the code generator for NGG, no Recent Gallerys. Is there any code for that that is not public or did i not see it?
Yeah you are right, unfortunately there is no “recent galleries from nextgen” display mode available. We can issue a refund if you cannot use it the way you wanted it to
No this is simply the best plugin in look and feel, so well maybe you can implement this in any future release, should not be that difficult or? as the albums show on the album page allready, it would just have to be cut after x number and could be done with a shortcut. Would be wonderfull! Also for this feature willing to pay some extra money.
