Hello, I recently purchased the Instagram Journal for WordPress and I followed the directions on Installation and getting the token key. Every time I click generate, it wants me to sign into Facebook. This is for my wife’s website and she has a Instagram business account….so I am not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Something I dont understand, help me out here, with the new Facebook rules, I now have to request some sort of permission to get approved in order to be able to use a IG token to use with your plug in. However, facebook keeps rejecting the request by saying they first need to be able to test the feature in order to give us permission to use a token, so you see the dilemma, its impossible to let them test something if I need to have a permission to get it working at the first place.
The video tutorial you previously provided does nothing and im stuck.
Did you have similar experiences from other users? I cant seem to get around the problem, what is your advice?

Thanks for the link. It looks like you’ve updated your token and not your userid. The userid must be the one generated with the token. Does this make sense?
Oh! Where does the user ID go? I can’t find a field for it anywhere.
You can insert your userid in the shortcode that you’ve added to your page. Looking at your site, it looks like you currently have a number loaded. Please just replace it with the new one.
For more information, please take a look at your documentation as it has pictures that can explain it better.

Does your instagram access token tool only work for business accounts? and facebook accounts? I only have a personal instagram account I want to use.
Hi,
In order to have access to all of the features of the API, Instagram needs it to be a business account or creator account. Honestly, it is really just a checkbox as they will be eventually phasing out standard accounts.
Most bloggers just check the creator account button to get access to all of the features of Instagram. Nothing else changes. I hope this helps!

I’ve now upgraded the plugin version but am having problems with the FB for devs side of things from your video and their insta acct seems to not be linked to a FB account? Is there any way to generate a token with a standalone Insta account?

Thanks for reaching out. I’ll be happy to help. First off, lovely web site. To the best of my knowledge, in order to get your Instagram access it has to be linked to facebook. This is easy to do and if you don’t want to have a page, you could always just create it and then hide from visibility.

After some late night tinkering, I actually managed to hook it all up after I sent you a message. I missed that you have developed a simpler method to generate the access token and also managed to hook my personal Facebook up to the Instagram acct.
Thanks for the response regardless, yours is truely a superior plugin for Instagram feeds and I was very reluctant to have to find an alternative.
Hopefully they don’t go changing the API again anytime soon.

I just purchased this product. I read your docs. Your instructional video on this page starts with go to developers.facebook.com and click “create an app”. There is no such button or link. Where do I create my app?
Also – I am creating this for my client – I have my own Facebook account and my own Business Facebook account and I have access to my client’s Business Instagram account but I do not have access to his Facebook account. Can I create the app while logged into my own Facebook account even though I do not have a business instagram account? thanks,
ok, I found how to create an app by clicking on My Apps once at https://developers.facebook.com. You should update your instructions for that step. However now I have continued to follow your steps in the video and it says at the Explorer tool to add “instagram_basic”...permissions after choosing “user access token” however I cannot choose “Get User Access Token” without getting an Error notice that says: “Invalid Scopes: . This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app will ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions"
So it seems this step has changed since you created the instructional video and I again cannot move forward. Help please. thanks,
I went to the Facebook app Permissions and Features page and there was listed instagram_basic but not page_show_list. And when I clicked on Request next to instagram_basic it resulted with a Continue link which went to a review process page that says it will take 5+ days and includes conditions like “Confirm that your app can be loaded and tested externally” and “Verify that the Facebook Login button is visible in your app and screencast, and adheres to our brand guidelines”. This is not working out very well.

I’m sorry, I’m not fully understanding the question but this plugin does not feature any “subscribe” logic. You simply authenticate with your Instagram account and it pulls in a lovely gallery of photos.

Hi does the plugin allow users to use multiple feeds? For example I would like to pull images from 3 Instagram accounts but I would like each account to be in it’s own feed on three separate pages.

Hi, I finally got the Facebook Graph API Explorer page sorted and now have a feed back on my site. However two things are happening, please can you help.
when opening the page using https I still get two errors:
A 400 error has occured attempting to fetch your profile photo. Please check your credentials and try again. and;

Second query, using the Shortcode generator I am setting to Classic, then under size strings I am using: Full, 10% 10×2 and default for the gutter. The display is displaying 2 and a half rows of 10. I want just to display the 2 rows of the latest 20 images. How do I achieve this please?

1. We are looking to show our “user feed” filtered by a hashtag. Think you refer to it as a “Multi Tag Instagram Feed Mode”. Are all the user’s posts with the correct hashtag eligible to show? The current plugin we use can only search the latest 100 posts to show any eligible posts.
2. Also, we are looking to show public photos by location only. For example 6 most recent photos from this location, is that possible?https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/144513/
3. Are there any limits on the number of feeds we can create on one website?

Hello – I just bought your plugin and tried to run it. We do have an access token which works for a different plugin. Unfortunately it is not working for your plugin – Your plugin outputs a blank page: http://held-marino.de/journal-test/ (not even an error message)
When I tried to follow the video further up on this comments page I realised we don’t have an instagram business account. As you did not state this is needed on the plugin info page I take it there is another method to get the plugin to work, right?
