Will it be possible to have a menu like this (for one page) in the future?
https://growthlab.com/guides/ultimate-guide-to-starting-an-online-business/?ref=bannerThanks
Hello,
Why not) We will add such layout to our roadmap, but I can’t say any ETA on this. Currently, maybe you will be interested in this layout http://groovymenu.grooni.com/left-sidebar-icon-menu/ ?
Hi, will the icon menu work as an additional menu to the main menu, sort of call to action menu that stays there as you move across the site? or it will be EITHER icon menu OR main menu, with no option to have them both on the site?
Hello Bbrain123, It is quite difficult to understand what exactly you need, can you show an examples?
Hello, can i have a icon pack please?
Please write to our email info @ grooni.com
Hi – presales question:
We need a megamenu with 3 columns at desktop size but collapsing nicely for tablets/mobiles, but we need it to be triggered by a burger menu at all viewport sizes. Can this megamenu do this?
Hello,
Please have a look at this demo http://groovymenu.grooni.com/minimalistic-menu/
Currently, the mega menu in such kind of layouts aligned vertically. Does it feet your needs?
If it could go horizontally (and left aligned burger menu) then it would work. Any scope for that?
Do you have any examples?
BTW, we plan to realize the horizontal layout for mega menus in the future releases.
Is it compatible with the EnFold theme and it’s builder?
Hello,
Sorry, we didn’t test the compatibility with EnFold theme and the builder yet.
Hey there, thank you for this great Plug!!!!! Very easy to use and look really great. I have a question about the icons. i want to use my own icons, so i have create for test one and save this in 512px .png and load this up. Not working, then i use a .svg …. not working… what must i do exactly to use my own icons? regards, olli
Hello,
To add icons to the menu you should first create an icon pack and then upload it from the Groovy menu dashboard. Here is a link with instructions http://grooni.com/docs/groovy-menu/global-settings-2/managing-icon-packs/
Let me know how you get on!
Thanks for your Feedback… Short questions to the instructions: a) Must i have more as only one icon in the pack? ... b) it ist okay when i create a folder with – example 10 SVG-icons – and then i zip this or must i … c) generate a font from my SVGs…?
a) The icon pack can contain any amount of icons – one or thousand, both will work the same way
c) You should upload all the SVG icons to the icomoon and generate a font
Let me know how you get on!
Hi grooni,
Can you check your jquery/js code since the last update in order to see if there is a typo error, like a missing semi-colon or whatever?
My cache plugin does merging, concatenating and minimization. It worked without any problem before the update, but since your last release, I have several Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
I’ll check too with some lint in order if I find something.
Thank you.
Hello,
We checked for such issue but didn’t find it. Can you please provide us URL of the site and create a ticket in our Support portal https://grooni.ticksy.com/, so we can quickly resolve the issue?
My site is under development, so i’ll check first on my own if I can arrange the situation, and then if not I’ll open a ticket.
Regards.
The problem was solved by not defering your javascript files. Temporary solution indeed.
Hello!
I’ve just purchased the menu and wanted to say one thing – THANK YOU!!!!!!
Groovy is the BEST menu I have ever seen and used!
Can’t really recommend it enough!
It literally took me like 15 minutes to figure out how it works and I was able to achieve a super nice menu, please check it out
Thank you so much for your kind words and nice review! We glad that our plugin is really useful for you! We are appreciated that and it makes us move on! However, I noticed 2 minor bugs, please create a ticket here so we can fix them.
Could we add your website to our showcase list?
Good afternoon!
Sorry for delay!
Regarding the showcase list – absolutely YES
Oh, and I’ll get the ticket opened right now!
Thank you again!
do you have any working demos of the vertical menus I can preview?
Hello robbiesea,
Yes we have few demos at vertical menu
http://groovymenu.grooni.com/left-sidebar-menu/ http://groovymenu.grooni.com/right-sidebar-menu/ http://groovymenu.grooni.com/left-sidebar-icon-menu/ http://groovymenu.grooni.com/right-sidebar-icon-menu/
Great thank you… is there an option to have the icon menu, then on hover slide out the sidebar menu version? I’ve been looking for something like this everywhere and can’t find one!
You mean that top-level menu should look like the icon menu and the dropdowns should look like sidebar menu from the above examples?
It would be better if you give an example
leave it with me!
Hello, presale question: Is it possible to integrate automatically the woocommerce categories?
Hello,
Can you please describe the question in more detail?
I want to create a menu item with woocommerce categories(and subcategories). Is it possible to add them in automatic way and not manually since there are many?
Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, there is no such option. All the menu items are added manually to the navigation menu the standard WordPress way.
Nevertheless, all woo categories can be added with just a few clicks like that https://nimb.ws/7kDa8J . However, then you will need to distribute them to the corresponding dropdowns.
Hi,
Because i want to show them as a tree it is a little bit difficult to do it this way.
Thanks
Hi, is it possible to create a menu that starts in a minimal fashion with the hamburger icon, which opens to a vertical menu on click or hover, but then the rollover menus are mega menu style? The closest example is the main menu at walmart.com. This is the general idea. Thank you!
Hello lynderoberts,
Please take a look on this design http://groovymenu.grooni.com/minimalistic-offcanvas-menu/
This plugin appears to conflict with Ninja Forms (frontend.js).
Please create a ticket here. It will be nice if you provide an access to your site or attach a screenshots. https://grooni.ticksy.com So that we can fix that issue.
will your plugin work with plugins that limit user visibility, such as user roles?
Hello,
Can you please provide an URL of the plugin? Since there are many plugins that contain “user roles” in the name. Also, since some of the plugins have many options it will be helpful if you tell what we should check first.
one of the above.
Unfortunately, the Groovy menu and one of the above plugins will work with conflicts when used simultaneously. And the reason is how WordPress internally implemented this page. We as developers very limited by lack of hooks or actions for Appearance > Menus page (there both plugins add its functionality).
Only one of the plugins will take precedence to display its parameters on this page. As a result, options from another will not be available in Appearance > Menus.
Our team is currently discussing how we need to solve these problems, either by adding the functionality of user roles to the Groovy menu so that it has these options without using plugins or by making some abstraction for this page.
Hello,
From demo site it is stated that Groovy is compatible with Beaver Builder but when following the link you posted, Beaver Builder is not in the list of page builders that are compatible with Groovy menu blocks.
Could you please confirm if Beaver Builder is supported or not?
Hello Alf127
We are working now on a version of GroovyMenu that will be compatible with BeaverBuilder The release is planning for next week. I temporarily removed information about Beaver from the demo site. Thank you for your interest. And stay tuned, I will inform you when we implement this feature.
Hi,
Most appreciated! I have purchased the plugin and if you need some beta testing on Beaver Buider or Beaver Themer, let me know. I would be happy to help.
Keep up the good work! If you keep developing this plugin, I’m sure that Groovy will have a high flight.
Thank you for your kind words! We will definitely keep it developing!
Hello,
I am glad to say that starting from recent release (1.6.1) we support Beaver Builder in menu blocks.
Perfect!:)
Will try it out as soon as it becomes available to download. Thats for heads up!
Hi! This plugin looks amazing. Quick pre-purchase question though. I have a need to have one (or more) menu items be featured as a button to standout from the others. Is that possible? Take a look at https://trapptechnology.com/ for an example. thanks.
Hello,
Thank you for your interest. Making menu items look like buttons can be done with two variants:
1) Add some custom CSS (we can help with that)
2) If your theme uses any page builders from this list, you can create a button using page builder and place it at the top level.
Hi Grooni,
I’d have some prepurchase questions—I’ve been looking for these features for days now, but can’t find a suitable menu plugin:
1. Is it possible to use custom fonts? I’m using Elementor which has this functionaly—if the menu can use the fonts set by Elementor, it’s sufficient.
2. Can I use a fixed menu, but when I scroll down, change the background from transparent to white? I don’t like the sudden jump of what most developers call sticky menu. I’d like to keep it in place, just change the background color after I scrolled down a screen, about 1000px.
3. If I can only change the background color on sticky, is there a limit to the vertical offset (I’d like to scroll down at least 1000px), and can I adjust the speed with which the sticky menu jumps in? (4-500ms would be ideal)
4. Is it possible to use an image background for the entire menu header (in truth, I’d like to use a transparent png for a slightly curved menu) but only when I scroll down (fixed or sticky)? So transparent when scrolled to the top, with background when scrolled down.
Thank you very much!
Hello,
1. Currently, the Groovy menu has three options for using fonts:
a) Use of the full list of Google Fonts
b) Inherit the font from the theme. Themes usually set a common font family for the body or HTML tags, from which we can inherit the font.
c) If you want to use a specific custom font that already exists on the page but is not configured on the body or on the HTML tag, you can easily set this font for menu items using custom CSS (if necessary, with our help)
2. We have both fixed and sticky menu options. Currently, both variants change its background and all other parameters (for example logo, background image etc.) when a special trigger fires:
a) For the fixed menu, it happens immediately after a scroll action, including background
b) For the sticky menu, it happens after a scroll from the top for a certain distance (from 10% to 100% of screen height)
Answering question 2, the fixed menu changes its background immediately. And again the specific behavior (changing bg after only 1000px scroll) can be achieved using some custom JS.
3. The vertical offset varies from menu height to 100% of screen height. The default speed is 200ms, but it can be easily changed with one line of custom CSS. BTW, we greatly improved the performance of the sticky menu (upcoming release) and plan to add custom animations and speed control options in next releases
4. Yes, it is possible to use background images on both default and sticky states separately.
Fantastic, fantastic! Thank you very much for the detailed answer. You got a new customer. : )
A couple of questions:
1. Currently the custom font is set by Elementor and the font in my theme (GeneratePress) is set to inherit. I also set (or rather, left) the font for the menus to inherit, but they do not. They use a general fallback sans font instead. Please le me know what Custom CSS I could use.
2. I set the logo under General Settings than hit save at the bottom of the pop-up window—but the logo is not saved. It does not appear on the site, and when I call up General Settings again, it’s not there. This looks like a bug, please advise.
Otherwise a well-designed interface with a fantastic array of options, just what I needed, thank you very much!
Andras
Hello,
Please create a private ticket in our Support portal and provide us admin access to the site, so we can quickly resolve your questions.
I would like to see a demo of the menu for mobile please before I buy.
Hello,
To see the mobile menu implementation you can open our Live preview site from a mobile device. We are on our way to adding new mobile menu options and related demo pages.
What theme is your demo website? I really like the look.
It is our theme http://crane.grooni.com/promo/
Which demo of the crane theme did you use? Also, I asked a support question in the support page of that theme if you could answer that please.
Our website http://groovymenu.grooni.com has been created using the Crane Theme, without import any specific page from the demo. It has been built from the scratch by design layout.
Very cool.
any plan of creating more mobile menu’s? Regardless of choice I end up with the same menu on mobile.
Hello,
We are currently working on enhancing mobile menu settings. There definitely will be more layouts and options for it!
Let me know the time frames. Also if you need beta testing I would like to offer my help. The same goes for mobile menu examples.

Which kind of mobile menu would you like to see? Let’s discuss it here https://grooni.ticksy.com
I have bought your plugin, I had good feelings about it and it’s confirmed.
But please just add a little thing: give us the possibility to “unwrap” your menu of this html5 <header>... or at least allow us to switch this <header> for a standard instead.
I need it for sementical purposes on my homepage which is different from the rest of my website.
Thank you.
Hello,
If I understood you correctly, you want to change the <header> tag to another one, for example [div], right? If so, we will add that feature to our roadmap.
Thank you.
Yes, it’s exactely that.
But don’t forget to implement it for the manual initialisation, since it’s for specific case. I include your menu by doing this in my header-front.php:
<?php if ( function_exists( 'groovy_menu' ) ) { groovy_menu(); } ?>
Maybe just add a parameter in the groovy_menu() function, like :
groovy_menu($div);
Regards.
Good point, thank you!
