Hello! I had contacted you about issues with the plugin update which my developer seems to have resolved (I am no longer seeing the error message on my Wordpress dashboard). However, when I make changes to the images in the gallery they are not pushing through to the front end of the site. I have updated the Gallery page, I have flushed the caches on the site (via Flywheel), and none of the new images are appearing. Images that I delete on the back end are disappearing from the front end. Please help! My gallery needs updating ASAP. Thanks. -liz at tipping point photo . com
Hey Belcovio…any chance I could get some assistance please? Happy to provide more info about what I’m experiencing if needed. You can also contact me at the email address listed at the end of the post above. Really need to get my website updated before my first marketing efforts of the year. Thanks!
Look into caching problems. Clear the cache of caching plugins or the CDN/CloudFlare.
I’ve cleared the cache on the site host and also cleared my browser history when accessing the site, and that does not work. I have no idea what you’re referring to when you say, “Clear the cache of caching plugins or the CDN/CloudFlare.” I don’t have any caching plugins on my site, and I don’t see a reference to CDN/CloudFlare on the back end of my site. I also tried using the troubleshooting tips listed here but couldn’t get past the first step, as the “blanks” were not showing: https://justifiedgrid.com/support/fix/some-images-are-missing/ Bottom line is that the plugin is still not working, as images are missing from the front end.
The company that provides my webhosting had the following to say: “Caching/CDN is 100% not the cause of this. Something is adding ”@2x” to the image URLs, and that appears to be the problem.” Please advise.
Ah ok. The @2x indicates something retina (serving double size images for high density displays). This plugin implements retina ready feature differently and does not use images with @2x in the file names. Check if you have a 3rd party plugin that is supposed to make your images retina ready and disable it. If you prefer JIG to be the main image/gallery display on your site, you don’t need 3rd party retina plugins to make images high res on mobile devices.
My website developer has been working on this and reports the following: “I removed the script that was causing the ”@2x” to be added to image URLs on mobile. I flushed the cache again, cleared my browser cache, and regenerated the thumbnails from the WP dashboard. It doesn’t look like any of the images have the ”@2x” added to their URLs now when I went to inspect element from the browser. However, the images that were recently added to the headshot gallery are still not appearing on the gallery section of the website.” So, no progress. My developer said she’d be happy to speak with you directly to try and resolve the problem. I can connect you via email if you contact me at liz at tippingpointphoto.com. Thanks!
Ok, let’s continue there.
Great plugin! Thanks guys!
Glad you like it.
Hello
I bought your plugin almost 4 years ago on 2015-06-15 and tried to use it on site A but our work on the site was terminated, the site content deleted and we no longer maintain that domain,
today I tried to use the purchase code on my new site B and I got this message, This purchase code is in use on A You need one regular license for each production site.
My question is, how can a purchase code be on use on a deleted site with an unregistered domain?
I need to use the plugin code on my new site, please you guys should fix this, I have also sent you a mail with more details
Thanks
It’s “in use” on the last site it was associated with. Your license is now released from the previously bound host. https://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/your-license-has-been-reset-what-does-it-mean/
Does the filtering support deep linking? Can I link to a page with a gallery and have a certain filter on?
Sorry, deeplinking for filtering is not a feature yet.
Hi, I’m having a problem with my captions not showing up in FireFox. The problem is not consistent—I can see the captions but other people can’t. I can see the captions even when I’m not logged in. Here are the pages where the problem is occurring:
https://whatiffoundation.sitedistrict.com/about-us/financials/ captions/titles indicating the year should appear below the images https://whatiffoundation.sitedistrict.com/news/#video captions/titles should appear below videosThanks, Amanda
I’ve discovered this also happens in Chrome
We can’t replicate the issue, the captions are always showing up. Is there any special circumstance where this happens? What devices do the other people use?
In one case, Firefox on Mac OSX High Sierra did not show captions. Safari on the same machine showed captions.
In another case, Windows 10 with either Chrome or Explorer did not show captions.
Linux desktop, Chrome, no captions
On my machine Mac OSX Mojave captions show with Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
Here’s what my tech friend did: https://techliminal.slack.com/archives/C02H69NRW/p1546545405044500?thread_ts=1546543642.031000&cid=C02H69NRWWe don’t use slack and haven’t been able to reproduce your issue on any system or brower, sorry.
Dear Developer, May i have refund on this plug-in I am so sorry , but i am very basic user, i try to read your product present on website and I though that there is “UI” like nextgen for gallery to make me easy to create galley, but there is more complicate work for me.
please consider for such foolish user Regards
Hi, consider the auto-take over features where you create galleries elsewhere (with WordPress or NextGEN).
Hi, thank you for your great plugin. I have some questions. Maybe feature suggestions, if you want.
I plan to use JIG with WP RLM but I found some features I missing:
- possibility to switch on/off WP RLM breadcrumb in global settings. I can do it in shortcode but not in global settings. I tried hide it by CSS (display: none) in general setting but it still shows for a moment on page load. Is there some better way?
- possibility to switch on/off thumbnails captions according to the depth of gallery structure. For example: I want captions on gallery thumbnails but not on image thumbnails in that gallery. I didn’t find any way how to achieve this. Is there any?
- when I was trying to find way how to hide captions only on image thumbnails I found that there is nothing like “group CSS class” for collections / galleries / images. Example: Page with collection of galleries has no CSS class like “collection” or “galleries”. Page with gallery content has no class like “gallery” or “images”. So it’s impossible to make individual styling for collection / gallery, i.e. to hide captions only in galleries but show them in collections.
What I am trying to achieve is to have captions on collection page: http://new.tomasvaverka.eu/galerie/priroda/ But also to have no captions on gallery page: http://new.tomasvaverka.eu/galerie/priroda/album/zoo-brno/I will appreciate every advice how to do it.
Thanks, Tomáš
It’s not possible to set different looks for collection and gallery view if they are all controlled by the same shortcode. But this Custom JS might help:
if(window.location.href.indexOf('rml-content/') != -1){jQuery("<style type='text/css'>.jig-caption-wrapper{display:none;}</style>").appendTo("head");}
You’ve found the limitations, sorry. The breadcumb setting only exists in the shortcode, as it’s uncommon for customers to create multiple JIG that consist of an RML top-level object. Most have 1 single index gallery with automatic subpages. That doesn’t warrant a global breadcrumb setting.
If you hide it with CSS, it depends on the position of such CSS if the flash of unstyled content is there or not. Try putting the hiding code in another place.
Hi Belcovio,
I moved my CSS for hiding breadcrumb to template’s custom CSS (which is in head tag) and now it works as I need.
I also tried your JS tip for hiding captions in gallery and it works perfectly.
Thank you very much for your help!
Thanks for getting back!
Hello, I have galleries with only vimeo videos, so I use the “JIG Link” to point to my video on vimeo and “lightbox=magnific” to display the videos in light box. It works extremely well but I would it be possible to do the same with “NextGen” and/or “WP RML” ?
In the JIG documentation it is mentioned that both plugin have “custom links” (NetxGen trough “NextGEN Custom Fields”), would those “custom links” works like “JIG Link” in the WP Media Library ?
ok I bought the RML plugin and so I can answer to myself and I confirm that custom links are working with JIG as RML actually uses data from WP Media Library
Glad that you found that possibility, yes there are custom links!
Hello
After careful consideration- we plan to buy the plugin.
Important Clarification Required.
1. We need two filter for image – 1 = Location 2= Type – Possible?
1.1 Is it possible to have to drop down filter option than buttons or search bar filter ?
PS: We need two filter for image – Filter 1 = Location (200 Location ) Filter 2 = Type ( 10 Type )– Possible?
Example this Gallery offers drop down & sorting http://preview.codecanyon.net/item/flow-gallery-multimedia-gallery-wordpress-plugin/full_screen_preview/13639067?_ga=2.232287318.870803164.1545554812-68228051.1544277239
Hi,
1. It’s possible you can throw any taxonomy as filter option, as long as they exist on the images.
1.1 There are no dropdown or search bar options unfortunately. Only simple buttons and tag cloud are available.
I see on the sidebar that JIG is only compatible through WP 4.9. What’s the status regarding compatibility with Wordpress 5?
Ah, that helps, thanks.
Hi,
does anyone know what i‘m doing wrong? I only like to show pictures that have BOTH keywords in it.
This Code works only as OR: [justified_image_grid preset=c5 mobile_preset=c3 image_taxonomy=attachment_keyword image_tax_term=”tag name one, tag name two”]
This code shows only the last keyword (tag name 2). But i need a solution that works in AND logic. [justified_image_grid preset=c5 mobile_preset=c3 image_taxonomy=attachment_keyword image_tax_term=”tag name one” image_tax_term=”tag name two”]
I use attachment keyword because i synced my keyword mit WP/LR sync and Lightroom. For many pages on my site i need the AND logic. Is there any way to get it work without categories?
I could enable image categories with a additional plugin but this is a lot of more work for me because all my images are tagged correctly and in many galleries i only want to show photos that contain BOTH tags. Example: Music Band Photos from Festival 1, Festival 2, ...
I only want to show the artist pictures „xyz“ that were taken on „festival 8“ and not the old photos from the same artist from old „festival 2“.
Both information are tagged but i can‘t get it work
Can anyone help me?
There is no setting for that but a slight modification to the plugin on the query it’s using will make it happen. Contact us from the profile and we’ll figure something out.
That sounds absolutely great! I did so
It appears that since upgrading to WP 5.0, our Flickr Gallery no longer works.
Page: https://kitchensmadesimple.com/gallery
Using the Beaver Builder Theme with the Beaver Builder plugin.
Shortcode on the page is:
[justified_image_grid flickr_user=143312248@N06 flickr_collection=143266926-72157670327190843]
Can you help in figuring out why the gallery is not showing up?
Thanks!
Hi
I am interested in your Justify Image Grid plugin as long as the pictures when in lighbox are shown as wide as the screen when the user is using an smartphone.
The post you see on http://test.trekpyrenees.com/example-grid/ has been created using the standard Media Grid ELEMENT of WPBakery Page Builder, which has that downside. The pictures have 600 points in the longest side.
Thanks
Hi, it depends on the image size you uploaded and the lightbox design. You can see that these lightboxes can fully cover the width of the screen: https://justifiedgrid.com/lightboxes/magnific-popup/ and https://justifiedgrid.com/lightboxes/photoswipe/
But if your source images are small, no lighthbox will stretch them out.
Hi. The images, as I said in my message are 600×400 pixels more or less.
Lightbox design? Can I design the lightbox with your plugin?
The first URL you messaged me is not a good exemple: the pictures are stacked on an smartphone. In the URL I sent to you the pics are not stacked. The second example is not good either: most of the pics are stacked. The pics which are not stacked have the same proportion on the grid and in the lightbox. May you send me an example as the URL I sent: 4 pictures, not stacked on an smartphone, 600×400 one picture, 600×450 another, 600×600 two pics.
Thanks
Hi, in the first comment you mention
“the pictures when in lighbox are shown as wide as the screen when the user is using an smartphone”
That’s what both of the examples on the JIG site show. Lightbox design means you can choose a lightbox in JIG that doesn’t have too wide edge/bevel that would waste the space on the phone. Most phones have a very high resolution display, so a 600px image will either look very small or very pixelated. You need images that are at least full HD or more in the lightbox.
Your initial comment wasn’t about how thumbnails look (the justified layout). What do you mean by stacked?
Justified layout terminology (when speaking about the thumbnails) no longer uses a pre-set X*Y size, see more: https://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/id-like-n-images-per-row-and-all-thumbnails-the-same-xy-size-possible/
Hi I’ll explain you in a different way. Please, send me a gallery with 4 pics, not stacked (2 rows, 2 pics per row) on an smartphone. WHEN I click on one pic, the lightbox pops up and shows the pic bigger ( at least as wide as the screen). The pics should be of different proportions.
In my exemple, the pics don’t show bigger when I click on any pic.
Do you understand what I mean? Just try to copy the same exemple I sent to you.
The pics don’t show bigger because their uploaded source image is small. Upload something large, so they’ll be large in the lightbox. How large they appear as thumbnails are up to you.
Just check out the main page: https://i.snag.gy/X9DtEp.jpg some are 2 per row, and when tapped the image is large: https://i.snag.gy/l3TRdZ.jpg and can be zoomed.
How large is the image of the man smiling?
Can you send me the URL so I can test it on my smartphone?
The image is 1920×1280. Thumbnail is 480×320. On mobile, it consists of more pixels but lower quality, according to https://justifiedgrid.com/features/retina-ready/
I will read the article and let you know. But I can’t load images of 1920×1280. They are very heavy. Their size will be much more than 100Kbytes
The thumbnails are small enough, regardless of the source. For the lightox it’s a one-at-a-time endeavor so it’s not slowing down your site if you use large images that way. You can still use slightly smaller images, or optimize them to webp format with a plugin like “shortpixel”. 1280 on the longest side could still work.
Hello,
I remember there was a way to increase the soft limit of loading 1000 images per page but cannot seem to find the solution in your FAQ or documentation.
Is there another way to increase this limit to 5000? Server resources is no problem as I can scale this for the load.
Thank you
From 3rd party sites there is no way, as it’s a limitation in their API. There are no pages in JIG, but you can load as many images you want with WP sources such as NextGEN or the Media Library. See the comparison tables: https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/
What source are you using? 1000 limit seems like an SQL default or similar. If you set the limit in JIG from 0 to 10000 or your target number, that should remove these kinds of limitations, if any.
Hi Belcovio,
Excellent, where can I set this limit in JIG? Which admin menu? I cannot seem to find it, or was this the Image limit option next to the hidden limit?
I am using the NextGen Gallery source.
Thank you.
It’s just that limit setting yes. For example this site has over 1500 NG images in JIG: http://www.lotrarts.com/cards/by-artist Not saying it’s perfect as it’s under construction.
Hi Is there a way to create a gallery with shortcode if I have a list of image IDs and a custom link for every picture to point to? I have an array of IDs and an array of links. If yes how does the shortcode should look like? I have read through all your documentation but did not find a clue how to accomplish that.
List of image IDs that’s no problem. Go to the Shortcode Editor, add some ids like 1,2,3 and then check the template tag tab. It’ll give you the code and you can change that 1,2,3 to an array.
The links should be on the images in the media library already. Look for the JIG Link field. If you’d rather not add the links by hand, you can populate the value of the JIG Links custom post meta field using this kind of code: https://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/can-use-text-captions/
The custom post meta’s identifier is this: _jig_image_link
With something similar to the above code, you can cross-reference your array of links with the image ID the get_post_metadata is checking at any given time, and return your links without them being in the media library.
Hi there -
I have now been waiting 5 days to hear back on several emails I sent directly to the author.
For a plugin with a premium price and 5-star rated support, I had hoped for a more prompt response than this. With the amount of sales this plugin has, it seems like there should be a more dedicated support system.
Sorry, found your emails. They were caught by the spam filter. Probably because of the links. Replied there.
Hello! Can your plugin do like this? http://gint-m.ru/projects/office/international-bank/ The thing is, that it cuts pictures automatically, even horizontal to vertical, but after clicking you see original image… Thank you!
Yes it can. There is a setting that randomizes thumbnail widths, in case all your images are the same aspect ratio, this helps bring out the best from the justified layout. Third example: https://justifiedgrid.com/features/aspect-ratio-randomize-width/ It never cuts the image width to less than half though. So it won’t cut a portrait from a panorama.
do you have trial? Because according to what you wrote – Im not sure at all, that I can do like in the example…
Sorry there is no trial but we can get you a refund if it can’t do this for you. It can achieve something very similar, given the right settings.
Thank you! I hope it will do the job =)
Hello again ) Few days ago I wrote you a message, can you check it please? )
Hi, we replied “the grid is automatic, so the images need to be shaped that way and in that order. You haven’t indicated you needed a manual rule regarding aspect ratios. There is automatic cropping as a setting but it crops randomly to achieve the justified look.”
problem is not with the cropping, we can prepare images manually, but I need the grid how in example (1/3 -2/3, 1/1, 2/3-1/3, 1/1, 1/3 – 2/3 etc…)
Then it all depends on the row height and the device. They may be rearrangement in desktop vs mobile devices. But given a desktop size, when you play with the row height+deviation settings it’ll eventually distribute them that way.
ok, its not really what I was looking for. Im going to hire the programmer to do this functionality. Can I ask for refund please, as you wrote before? Thank you in advance!
Request it through the official ways of CodeCanyon.
sorry, never did it before, didn’t know, how does it work. ok, thank you for your time!
