i have this
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/albatrosor/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-upload-files/classes/com/WCUF_Option.php on line 608
Hi,
This error is due the usage of an outdated version of PHP. Note that Wordpress and WCUF plugin (as reported in the description page) both require a minimum 5.5 version.
Could you confirm that you are using at least that version? to check go to WooCommerce -> System status.
If not please update and that error will be gone.
Updating php is usually a very simple operation in any web shared server. Go to the admin panel, search for some kind of advanced configuration
and in that section you can switch the php version to the latest.
i have problem when i activate pugin
line 608 and an error on my website 505
Your plug-in looks great. I’m trying to determine its compatibility with the “Woocomerce Extra Product Options” plug-in before purchasing. From the comments it seems like it may work. I’ve also seen that you have offered to set-up test sites in the past with both plug-ins installed. Is this still an option? If so let me know how to get you the “Extra Product Options” plugin or if you still have a test site set-up with both plug-ins that I can take a look at. Many thanks for your help.
Be well, Ryan
Hi Ryan,
yes I can set you a private demo site where you can test both plugins. Send me a private message (click on my name then use the low-right) box reporting your email address. I’ll reply with mine where you can send the plugin. Once done I’ll send you the access!
Hello, I have image editor plugin which allows the user edit image before buying it. The plugin attaches the edited image to the order and save it in a special folder on the server. I wanted to ask if there is an option to integrate your plugin to the other plug in in order to save the images on dropbox? And if it needs a little modification if someone can guide me on your API.
Thanks, Itay
Hi Itay,
I’m sorry but unfortuantely the plugin hasn’t any API to allows 3rd party plugin to pass images or any other file
Hi! I recently bought your WordPress plugin Woocommerce Upload Files, but when I’m trying to validate it I get an error and the message “Purchase code is invalid!” and I’m sure I use the correct purchase code and username. How will I get it to work?
Hi,
try fully purge the browser cache and try using a fully HTML5 compliant browser like Chrome, FireFox or Edge.
- you email address
- Full admin access to the wp-admin area
- username and pruchase code
Thank you! It worked with Chrome.
Yeah, very glad to hear that

Dear vanquish
I ask you about browse. I tested your plugin by Chrome and it worked well. But if I use IE.11 or Safari, uploading process become bad. It continue to show “Save in progress,Please wait” and don’t proceed. How can I fix this?
As reported in the plugin description page, the plugin supports only fully html5 compliant browsers: FireFox, Chrome and Edges. IE is not longer supported by Microsoft and it doesn’t fully support HTML5.
Just use a fully HTML5 compliant and the software will properly work.
Hi, Thanks for a fast reply. I understand now. Sorry for not reading the description page carefully. I am happy for resolving my issue, Thanks
No problem, you’re welcome

Hi.I reviewed this now. Thanks!
Hi
Plugin was always working fine but since last week I downloaded latest version but now I can’t even see the plugin setting page anymore. But in plugins the plugin is active
Have you completed the activation by verifing the purchase code? You will find the notice at the top of any admin page.
Thanks missed it
(wasn’t there before)
Hi,dear
I got this plugin and now continue to test it. Today I got the error message in the checkout page.
the message is like this “Upload ,,,,,,, for product ….(#660) has not been performed. Upload ,,,,,,, for product ….(#779) has not been performed. Upload ,,,,,,, for product ….(#903) has not been performed.”
At the same time, there were several products which I didn’t order in the order detail table.
And I can’t go further anymore and can’t finish checkout.
How can I resolve this problem?
Hi,
those message are reported in case you have enabled the mandatory option for an upload field and you have not performed the required uploads before completing the checkout.
Disable that optiion or perform the required uploads. Make also sure you are running the latest 41.3 version.
Thank you for your reply. I understood the flow. I made several product pages in the same name for the test. It was the cause I am confused. I could resolve my problem by uploading images thorough each product page. Sorry for using your time. This is a very good and maybe only plugin for the specific seller’s need. Thank you.
No problem, you’re welcome

have a good weekend!
hey, where do I have to save the files, so that they are not overwritten during an update?
Hi,
To which files are you referring? and to which operation? do you mean when updating the plugin? To update the plugin just overwrite the wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-upload-files folder. You can also safely deactivate, delete and reinstall the new plugin version via the plugin admin page. You won’t lose any setting
If you are referring to the file upload process, for what concerns the temp uploads, they are stored in the /demo/wp-content/uploads/wcuf/tmp and deleted after 20 minutes of inactivity (that value can be set in the Options menu). The plugin assign a randon temp number as name in order to avoid to overwrite them.
Once the order is placed, file are saved in the /demo/wp-content/uploads/wcuf/{order_id}/{product_id} folder. The plugin prepend a random number before the file name in order to avoid that files are overwritten.
oh i am sorry, i meant the language files..
ah no unfortuantely you have to manually restore them after you performed an update. Eventually you have to update the translated one with the new .pot file ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/pmq8gi5evtw9mf6/wcuf_language.jpg?dl=0 ) because it may be that in the new version have been inserted new strings .

Hi Sr Domenico
Please can you help?
Using ‘WooCommerce Upload Files’ I can make an order and I CAN see the thumbnail OK on the Customer Email under ‘Uploaded images:”
However, I can NOT see the file NAME under ‘Uploaded files list:’.
This is a problem on the email AND the PDF invoice.
IS there a way to fix this?
John
Hi John,
I’ve performed a test and it seems that the plugin properly works. As you can see from the following image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fduxkccrjun5dob/wcuf_email.png?dl=0 it properly displays file name for any file (pdf, txt, ...).
The file names are properly displayed in the email. Which plugin version are you running? is the latest 41.3 If not, can you try updating and report me if you still experience the issue? You can manually download the new version via codecanyon or receive as automatic update by installing and configuring the Envato updater plugin: https://goo.gl/pkJS33 (here the guide that explains how to configure: https://envato.com/market-plugin/ ).
To manually update: just deactivate and delete the old plugin version and then install the new one. Don’t worry you won’t lose any setting
Hmm..
With Version 41.3 the ‘Place Order’ button and the ‘Upload’ area is not appearing on products.
I’ve switched off ALL the plugins except for WooCommerce and WooCommerce Upload Files and I the ‘Place Order’ button is still invisible.
I was better off with the old plugin!
If you want to look, I’m making these changes at:
http://beta.muprint.com/product/poster-for-wall/(When everything works I will apply them to the main site at www.muprint.com which is still running the old version.)
John
What do you mean that the add to cart button and place order are not appearing?
Note that if you marked the upload filed as mandatory, the add to cart button will not be showed untill the upload has been performed. Once done it will appear: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ju0a17dhmkn07ro/wcuf_mandatory.jpg?dl=0
The place order button is visible: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1wntl7lt7ny1g8n/wcuf_checkout.jpg?dl=0Unfortuantely without any further clue it is quite hard to determine the cause. So the issue is that the “upload button” is not appearing or that the “add to basket” is not rendered where you expect?
Have you customized the product page or installed a plugin that alters it?
For what I see it seems that you chosed to render the upload field before the “add to basket” button. However in the beta site the “add to basket” is rendered after the product description but in the main site is in the middle.
The plugin however doesn’t alter the “add to basket” button redering. Are you sure that if you disable the plugin that button is rendered where you expect (in the middle)?
I see the add to basket button is rendered in the same position where it was when the plugin is active.
Plugin off: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h2zg5pszj4v7kh4/wcuf_plugin_off.jpg?dl=0
Plugin on: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bxhup2jwu12sh2o/wcuf_plugin_on.jpg?dl=0
So actually the fact that the add to basket button is not rendered where you expect is not related to the plugin.
It would help me if you recommended a course of action. What I will do is performa clean install of WooCommerce and your plugin only, then go from there.
Excuse me but I don’t understand what issue you are experiecing. For what concerns the upload and the place order buttons appearence, as showed they are working.
For what concerns the “add to basket” button position, it works as expected. Even disabling the plugin, it is showed always in the same position.
could you provide me a more detailed issue that you are experiecing and why you are linking to the plugin?
?
That is version Version 37.0. Make a note of that – ‘www’ version of the site uses Version 37.0
Now, try to buy something after uploading an image – it’s OK, it will not ask for payment – there’s a ‘pay at at shop’ option.
When you do this, take a look at the email it sends you.
You will see the icon but the FILE NAME is MISSING.
Please can you confirm you also get this error.
I cannot give you support for the 37.0 version, I can give for the latest release. Please update to the latest version and then report me if you still get the issue.
for what concerns instead withWith Version 41.3 the ‘Place Order’ button and the ‘Upload’ area is not appearing on products. I’ve switched off ALL the plugins except for WooCommerce and WooCommerce Upload Files and I the ‘Place Order’ button is still invisible.are they then ok? For the previews tests that issues never raised.
I do not want support for version 37.0. I want support for version 41.3.
You said: “Excuse me but I don’t understand what issue you are experiecing”
I am attempting to answer that for you so you can understand the problem I am having with version 41.3.
The issue is, when upgrading to version 41.3, to correct the missing information in the email message, I get a NEW problem ONLY WITH VERSION 41.3 which is the missing upload box, buttons and purchase button.
I have demonstrated this on the BETA site at:
beta.muprint.com
However, you required further clarification.
Am I making sense?
no unfortuantely no. As you can see from the screenshot I’ve attached in the previous messages, upload box, buttons and pruchase button are not missing.
Here again what I see from the beta site where you installed the new 41.3 version:- Upload box and button is visible. Add to cart button is not due to the fact you configured the upload field to be mandatory. In this case the add to cart button will appear only once you upload a file. Infact after I upload that (through the visible upload box and upload button): https://www.dropbox.com/s/ju0a17dhmkn07ro/wcuf_mandatory.jpg?dl=0 I can see the add to cart button
- Place order button is visible: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1wntl7lt7ny1g8n/wcuf_checkout.jpg?dl=0
So actually I’m still confused about the issue you are experiencing. Could you provide a step by step guide on how to experience it? Could you try purging your browser cache and reperform your tests to see if you are still experiencing the issues?
Which browser are you using?
I’ve performed the tests with FireFox, Chrome and Edge. Those are the official supported browser that are fully HTML5 compliant.
Cache clear seems to help!
I think it’s working!
yeah, veeeeeeeeery glad to hear that!

Have a good night!
Hi Mr Vanquish – I did the transaction and I can see the thumbnail AND file name – so I think all I had to do was clear the cache! You might wanna stress the Cache Clear with your next customer as upgrading the version caused me problems and I panicked!
Five Star review posted – Incidentally, any chance you can make the upload progress bar a bit thicker in future? I’m used to the Apple progress bars which are about the thickness of a pencil!
Yes usually is the first thing that I suggest, but today was a very looooog day and didn’t come to my mind as possible cause
No problem, panic and computer science is a very common mate
Thank you for the rating and for the suggestion about the tickness! I’ll see what it will be possible!
Have a good night!
Done!
We do a lot of file uploads with our website. Sometimes someone places an order and they said they uploaded files, but the order has no files attached to it. Is there a place were “temp” files go, and we can check and see why they didn’t attach properly?
Hi,
files are temporarly stored in the /wp-content/uploads/wcuf/tmp. Note however that folder is periodically cleared (by default 20 minutes, that value can be setted through the options menu).
Usually this cases are related to the fact that you customers are not properly lending into the Thank you page after a payment has been performed (maybe for a customized payment gatway workflow, thank you page…).
Try then the following solution: click on the Options menu, and under the Checkout – Files to order association method select the When order is placed option.
Got it, thanks! We already use the “when an order is placed” option, I’ll look into that temp folder and see if we can find a pattern.
Thank you very much. Let me know the result of your investigation or if you are able to reproduce the issue. I’ll be glad to further analyze it and release a fix.. Give also a look to the server error log to see if any error is reported after a order with no uploads has been placed.
Installed and activated plugin but the menu is not appearing in the sidebar.
Woocommerce Version 3.4.6
Hi,
has the plugin succesfully activated or still the activation notice appears on top of admine pages?
Could you try disabling all the 3rd party plugins to see if the menu is appearing? Have you altered the plugin init system by installing some plugins like Plugin Organizer?
I tried disabling other plugins and reinstalling the plugin itself by deactivating/deleting and re-adding the files to the FTP directory. Activated successfully again but the menu is not appearing. Not plugin management software are installed.
Last thing that comes to my mind is that you may have installed the woocommerce plugin in a customized folder not named woocommerce. Is that your case?
Default plugin directory in the ftp. Would it need to be in a specific folder other than that?
Directory: public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-upload-files
I mean, is woocommerce installed in its native directory named woocommerce or are you using a custom folder name for it?
If it is using a custom name, please restore the default name. If not, I have no clue why in your specific installation the plugin is not showing in the menu even disabling all the plugins.
If you send me via private message (click on my name and then use the low-right box) the following data:- you email address
- Full admin access to the wp-admin area
- a FTP access
- purchase code and username
I’ll try performing some further tests to see if it possible what is wrong in your specific installation.
Hello,
I am interested in your plugin, but I am not sure it fully provides the solution we are looking for. We are searching for the following solution:
- Clients need to be able to do a bulk order by uploading a single csv file. - clients need to be able to upload a .csv file that contains: SKU, Volume, first/last name, full address and email address. - based on the file all products need to be added to the cart - During checkout the recipient credentials per item need to be visible - clients proceeds with checkout and after checkout the .csv file needs to be extracted from the order.
Does this plugin provide such a solution?
Looking forward to you response.
Kind regards,
Stefan
The plugin hasn’t any specific support for CSV files or order creation through those kind of file. It hasn’t neither any feature that automatically adds products to cart according a csv file.
It however allows the user to attach any file to the products and then perform the checkout. Those files can be lately downloaded by the admin from the admin order edit page.
The plugin has a demo site where you can fully test the software. Try then to create a scenario like your site to see if it actually fits your needs and expectations before purchasing. In case of further info, feel free to ask.
hey, if i upload a photo, the preview is rotated 90 degrees to the left. How can i fix this?
Hi,
make sure that the exif data of the photo you are uploading are properly econded. Eventually you can enable the crop editor that allows the user to rotate photo files.
Hi, seems that the error appears only on safari for iOS. I can check the photo encoding but it isn’t a permanent solution to expect it from my customers.
BTW is there an image compression when uploading? The order file is smaller than the uploaded one? Thanks for your help!
No images are not compressed. Files associated to order are the same that have been uploaded. The plugin compresses only the preview of the images showed in pages, this is done for perfomance matters.
For what concerns safari, it is not officially supported. The plugin just previews the image as it is served by the browser. If the browser for some reasons is not properly passing the images or if the images have a wrong exif data associated, it is not an issue related to the plugin.
Thanks!
You’re welcome
The plugin breaks the button order of my theme on product page. Is there a solution? https://photolovr.de/shop/guide-pack-cap/
what do you mean that it break the order? have you a screenshot of how it should be and how it is now? it only happens in the production site?
ok clear. Yes it because your theme is assigning those elements a inline-block style, while the plugin after make them appear with the fade effect, assigns the default block style.
Please update the plugin to the just released 41.1 version. It should fix!
In envato market plugin is no update available? Also in my plugins page..
Actually I don’t know
It may happen that the updates are published by CodeCanyon much time later. They approval system some times takes some times. Check again later and in case let me know!
Works. Great job!
Thank you
Hello Support, pre-sale question here, i would like to check if we can also have another option which to allow user to paste the file location link? Meaning, i can have 2 options, option 1 is by upload the file from our own device; option 2 is paste the document link which stored in other 3 party i.e google drive, dropbox, wetransfer…etc to the text box?
Hi,
I’m sorry but the plugin hasn’t such a feature.
Hello support, how about Google Drive? Does this plugin support Google Drive upload?
No, it has support only for DropBox
Hey guy, this is a fantastic plugin!
I’ve two very small issues:
First, is it possible to hide the files name on cart and checkout page and show only the image?
Second, is there an easy way to center the progress bar? It’s a little bit more on left side.
Best regards!
Hi,
thank you for you rappreciation
- There isn’t an option for that. You have to manually assign a custom css style to the .wcuf_single_file_name_in_multiple_list selector: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ikz3o73xujzvc8k/wcuf_file_name.jpg?dl=0 . Something like display:none; or what you wish
- Also for this you have to custom define a custom rule or redefine the existing one. The selector used for the progress bar are defined as follows: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yb68o8dsy4tvwd1/wcuf_prgress_bar.png?dl=0 you can find them in the checkout_cart_product_page_template.php you find inside the templates folder. Style rules are defined in the wcuf-frontend-product-page.css.php, wcuf-frontend-checkout.css.php and wcuf-frontend-cart.css.php files you find in the css folder. Each refear to a specific page (product, checkout or cart).
To custom define CSS for specific pages you can consider using this other plugin of mine Custom JavaScript & CSS in Pages " alt="" />
Hi! Would be great for our mobile user to send files without hitting “send files” button, just when he choose a picture from gallery and it is sent automatically to server. Is it possible now? Would you add this feature? Would you be hired to add this feature for us, now?
Also: recently I said to you to change quantity selector for ”+” and ”-” button instead of putting numbers. It would be great for our mobile users.
Thank you for your amazing work! Cheers.
Thank you for your suggestion about the + and – I’ll see what it will be possible for a future release!
For what concenrs the send files button, you can enable the “Auto upload” feature. To enable it, go to the Options menu and under the Enable quantity selection area select No once done you will be able to select the Auto upload option.
Auto upload feature is great, however quantity file selector is a MUST for our business. Is there a way to have both quantity selector for same file and auto upload feature? Cheers.
quantity has to be setted before uploading. So if you need the user to set a quantity for a file, the auto upload feature cannot be enabled. He has to upload the files once setted all the quantities.
This plugin gave my website a fatal error: Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home1/kle4426/public_html/foxtrotcreativestudio.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-upload-files/classes/com/WCUF_Option.php on line 608

No unfortunately the plugin hasn’t such a feature.
Hi there,
I have installed this plugin on a website.
I have understood that this plugin is for one website. However, I need to install it on an extension of the same domain name. For example, fr.mydomain.com. Is it possible to do so without buying an additional plugin?
What are the options?
Thanks
N.
Hi,
yes you can install the plugin in unlimited subdomain of the registered ones. You can register two domain and foreach you can use unlimited subdomain (just activate and you will be good to go).
In case you are experiencing any issue activating in a registered domain, let me know!
Super! And thank you for prompt reply!
