Hi, I recently switched over to HTTPS and JIG is now refusing to update. Can you please reset my license such that it can be associated with the new URL?
I’ve reset your license. http://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/your-license-has-been-reset-what-does-it-mean/
It was bound to: http://www.jgcoleman.com
Hi,
Thinking about buying another license for a new site, but is your plugin (in particular your lovely style of lightboxes) compatible with Essential Grid?
That’s a competitor product not sure what you mean by compatibility. JIG is not about lightboxes like a theme is not about sliders. They just complement the layout/look.
Hi unsure if I need paid support for this? But my automatic updates have stopped, the plugin is telling me the license key is being used elsewhere? But I have only ever used it on the one site. Can I please get my license key reset?

Perhaps you turned on SSL.
Please can you say something about whether Instagram still supported? When I last used Jusified Image Grid it was, but on the website under Sources I can’t see anything about Instagram support. Thanks
I had to stop advertising it on the site, but it’s still in the plugin. Normally it’s very limited but I can give you a public access token so you can use it like you used to. Contact me from my profile for more info.
It looks like this nowadays: https://justifiedgrid.com/features/settings/#!jig[1]/ML/19191 You can see there is a relatively new setting called access token.
Hello,
I’ve purchased plugin this on my other account, used it with NextGen gallery, but I didn’t like how that gallery plugin works separately from my Media Library. So I switched to RML seeing that you want to make that your recommended source plugin for JIG. Here is my issue:
ISSUE: Display multiple RML galleries, that are organized in a collection, at once in one JIG, filtered by tags. Problem is that when I select parent collection of those galleries, it displays me “list of galleries” not “list of all images in those galleries”.
I see from your plugin website that “list of galleries” is how JIG intended to work with multiple galleries in the 1st place, but I also saw other people have my problem as well and in one comment you addressed this, that you want to make RML multiple galleries showcase as you did with NextGen. Any news when that can be expected as that post is like 3 months old now?
I found a workaround in the meantime, for those who would like to display images from multiple RML galleries via JIG, that all act like being in one big gallery, filtered by tags (or whatever your taxonomy is).
SOLUTION:
- 1. Create your custom taxonomy via RML (maybe WP Categories and Tags works too, I did not test). Settings -> Media -> Media Taxonomy -> Add New Taxonomy. mine is “Media Tags”: “houses”, “apartments”, “villas” for example.
- 2. Use your taxonomy in photos you want to be displayed from those galleries. Latter when you add new images to your galleries, just make sure to always set taxonomy for each image. For me I always tag my newly added photos with “Media Tags” I defined in RML.
- 3. Generate JIG shortcode like this:
[justified_image_grid image_taxonomy=media_tag image_tax_term=houses,apartments,villas rml_id=5]
image_taxonomy=media_tag is my slug name for “Media Tags”
rml_id=5 is my ID for collection that contains my galleries.
You can always add more to the shortcode but I just wanted to include here the necessary parts for it to work.
So that’s how you create a JIG “display multiple galleries with all contained images at once”.
It hasn’t been added yet but I’ll show this comment to RML developer so perhaps we can put it together for the next update. NextGEN works a bit differently and I wrote my own database queries to get the content however I want. But since RML dev is supportive of this collaboration I’d rather use some official method to get this done.
Thats great news. Keep up the good work and thanks. Looking forward to that update.
Regarding “list of all images in those galleries”... It’s been 5 years (I know), but today’s update brings the “select multiple RML content” feature and also the “flatten hierarchy” option. Both enhance the “filter by gallery name” feature.
Hello,
My JIG plugin is not receiving automatic updates, despite including my purchase code.
Please advise.

Can this plugin support Woocommerce out of the box on any theme? Thanks
Yes, you can show the price on the thumbnail according to price format and link to the product automatically from the thumbnail. See demo at: https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/wordpress/custom-post-types/
Sorry I’m not seeing how this is plug and play. I’m mainly looking for the Photo Swipe controls. Maybe I’m missing something, when I look at the demo. Thanks
What kind of plug n play, and what would you like in PhotoSwipe? JIG can display WC products just like any other WP post type. In addition it can show the price, that’s all. What else do you request? Do you mean JIG should reside on your product pages for product photos?
My photos are cropped. What do I do to show the proportion? My photos are at 800×533
First thing to check is this setting https://i.snag.gy/t3Ms57.jpg choose “Full”.
https://justifiedgrid.com/support/fix/images-are-cropped-even-in-the-lightbox-no-matter-what/Not sure if this is an “issue” with PhotoSwipe or JIG, but maybe you can help me here. I am using the new PhotoSwipe 4 lightbox and I think it’s fantastic. However, I would like to show the lightbox “inline” upon clicking on one of the JIG photos. Basically I am trying to achieve pretty much the same as seen here: http://davehillphoto.com
I read the PhotoSwipe 4 documentation and I tried the modal: false addition to the JS code. This didn’t change anything, though.
Also, I do have a feature request: It would be nice if it would be possible to generate Shortcodes right from the settings page of the plugin. The reason for this being that the page builder of the theme I am using is not giving me access to the JIG button in the text editor.
Hi,
The page you linked doesn’t necessarily use a lightbox solution for generating that view. None of the lightboxes in JIG offer that out of the box. But PhotoSwipe element can be modified or placed differently to only take up part of the site and not cover the whole thing. So yes it’s still your best bet but with a little Custom JS, and not out of the box. Not sure if the “modal” setting will be enough, this is a bit more complex than that. Here is a vide of playing around and doing what is needed for that to happen, if you can reproduce this with Custom CSS and JS then you can do this, yeah. Give parent element relative positioning, move pswp object inside that and force absolute positioning on pswp (it turns to fixed as soon as it opens otherwise). And yes, the modal setting. https://www.screencast.com/t/xpGZHpxun
Valid point about no longer using the tinyMCE editor toolbar as a dependency for creating galleries. For now you can use auto-take over feature in some sources (WP, RML, NextGEN). Eventually I’ll re-write the plugin and address this issue in some way, or offer various other type of access to the shortcode editor (or just support all the builders..).
How to make a 3-column horizontal album? . I can not figure out how to create columns and insert a simple thumbnail. Please help.
How can I create a gallery d:
Photo 1 Column Text Down. Photo 1 Column Text Down. Photo 1 Column Text Down.
And so on
I’ve been trying to create a collection with real media library and this plugin all day. How do I create a gallery of a column in a collection? Since I bought the plugin I have not succeeded. I need help
Let’s continue the discussion in the email thread only.
Hi. This page http://charleysnavajorugs.com/navajo-rugs-for-sale/ won’t load all the grids. Load more is off by default. Tried turning it on. No dice.
Nevermind. Something in the excerpt of one item in category id 16 was killing the loading of thumbnails for that grid, and the excerpt for that item, and all grids below it. Don’t know what, but after I removed an extra line break and some spaces in the excerpt, grid was happy!! Justified image grid rocks!!!
Sounds like a JavaScript problem that could stem from a special character. Do you remember what the excerpt was like?
I’m sorry Firsh. I wish I had noticed better. The only thing I did notice was an extra space, meaning two spaces where I wanted one, and a line break I took out. I also took out a couple unneeded single spaces. None of which would seem to be relevant. Maybe removing one of the double spaces, or just taking out others, also removed whatever special character was causing the issue. Again, I’m sorry I don’t have more specific feedback for you. Thanks!
No problem. Perhaps it was a non breaking space
& nbsp;or something like that. I’ll keep an eye out though it’s been a long time since I caught a problem with the captions.
I think I found it! Double line breaks. Weird.
So the page http://charleysnavajorugs.com/navajo-rugs-for-sale/ with the multiple grids stopped at JB Moore again.
The last item in the failed grid, which causes all grids after the failed grid to not render completely, had two
in the excerpt html like this:
Took out the last of the two line breaks, and the problem resolved! So why that breaks the grid is the mystery.
Progress!
Hi,
I just want to mention that I followed up on your bug report, and it was something in jQuery.dotdotdot plugin that I use to truncate the captions with …
I have updated that to its new major version but that also brought changes to JIG code (it became easier to use the new … plugin). So from the next version, the captions will be truncated by a faster solution (I actually removed many lines from JIG that augmented the old … plugin). The double line breaks are not causing an issue anymore.
If you’d like to test the latest beta, contact me from my profile and I can send it to you.
Awesome! Yes. I’d love to test the beta!!
Good, please contact me from my profile regarding this.
Whoops. Right. This is isn’t your profile! Lol
On your demo site you have sections of text with an image on the right or left. Is your plugin doing that? That’s what my client wants to do with recent posts. She saw the same thing on chase.com
Yes, last example here: https://justifiedgrid.com/features/automatic-justified-layout/
And first example there: https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/nextgen-gallery/single-picture/
But these are really only suited for 1 single image. You can add more but it won’t look too good – unless you limit the width but then you lose the responsiveness.
The text is just the content of the page / post. The text is not placed there by JIG and has nothing to do with the image.
If you meant my home page: https://justifiedgrid.com/ well yes that is still JIG, but it’s not doing the columns and the left and right thing. It’s there to make these images retina ready (they are large to begin with) but serves right size images for the device type. https://i.snag.gy/sBScdK.jpg You can see that I placed it in 2 column view of Avada theme and I just happened to place JIG on the right side column.
You might want to have single image next to a text shown with JIG for 2 primary reasons: top open a good Lightbox from it https://justifiedgrid.com/lightboxes/ and/or Retina Ready – https://justifiedgrid.com/features/retina-ready/ Otherwise you can just insert the image normally and hope for the best.
Pre Sales Question:
Is this part of the plugin or your theme or a different plugin?
https://screencast.com/t/tyVLXjjy6Kbest.
Hi, that is part of the plugin. What you see there is screenshots of the plugin admin area. The 2 images are presented with the plugin itself, I just created a unique combination of settings to create that look and I re-use that custom preset everywhere for showing the screenshots.
The handful of images from the plugin settings + the shortcode editor are re-uploaded sometimes. I tag each with “lightboxes” or “filtering” etc. 2 pictures for each: 1 lightboxes admin page from plugin settings, and 1 lightboxes admin page from shortcode editor, and so on. Then these shortcodes you took a screenshot of, only request the images by calling the tag: “lightboxes” or “filtering”... they receive 2 images to show. Whenever I change the screenshots, I make sure the new ones are tagged. This way I do NOT need to manually update dozens of pages with a new JIG, everytime I update the screenshots…
Hey Firsh, I appreciate your thorough explanation.
What you just explained is very similar to what I’m trying accomplish, so it’s great to hear thats how you’re using your plugin. Do you have certain sections in the documentation that you could point me to that way I can get a more thorough understanding of how to do something similar?
Best
I’m afraid not, but you can always look at the settings description table in the PDF as it’s more detailed than what’s in the plugin. That gallery we talked about is made by this: [justified_image_grid preset=c4 image_tags=wprml] c4 preset is just for the looks, as for the content I used a single setting / shortcode attribute.
Hey Firsh, I really like your plug-in. I have 1 question though. Is there a way to show all the images in one lightbox if I have multiple galleries on one page like this:
jig ids=”3911,3912,3913,3917,3916,3918,3919,3920,3921”
jig ids=”3911,3912,3913,3917,3916,3918,3919,3920,3921”
jig ids=”3911,3912,3913,3917,3916,3918,3919,3920,3921”
I want to open one lightbox for all the gallery images and be able to browse them with the arrows.
Thank you!
It’s currently not possible as each instance triggers its own encapsulated instance of a lightbox group, even if “Link rel” is the same for all galleries. Not so closely but related: https://justifiedgrid.com/support/fix/there-is-no-prevnext-button-in-the-lightbox/
What you can do is to use custom lightbox, that is not triggered by JIG. One that is forced on JIG from the outside. Use your theme’s or a 3rd party lightbox that doesn’t make much of a distinction between JIG instances and just groups together every image it finds. FooBox can do this or those that I list at https://justifiedgrid.com/lightboxes/ “Other lightboxes known to work with JIG” – the key is that it should be an installable and 3rd party WP plugin.
I understand it’s not an option for you if you wanted to use a specific lightbox of JIG.
I guess it’s not an option. I’m using PhotoSwipe with JIG. Do you plan to make this work in an update in the future? Thanks!
It deliberately like this for now, to not conflict with other things on your site and for the scripts not to go beyond the boundary of the gallery. If more than 1 JIG is using the same lightbox I could make an exception, so maybe. But I don’t know when since this idea has just spawned.
Hi, I have problem. After last update my youtube rss is not working and i dont know why? On the site is note The requested RSS feed is empty. but before it work. Please, can you help me? Thanks! I have this shortcode: [justified_image_grid preset=17 thumbs_spacing=1 prettyphoto_theme=dark_rounded caption_field=off overlay=hovered overlay_color=#D1EBFF overlay_opacity=0.75 lightbox=prettyphoto min_height=700 disable_cropping=yes link_target=video rss_url=https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJuOQm-Q8xHiwQMV-qIsLlQ rss_links_to=permalink rss_description=description rss_link=yes rss_link_text=\”Sleduj na YouTube\”]
Which version have you updated to? You must have v3.7, any older version will show the error. v3.7 fixes it since YouTube layout has changed recently.
Hi I know support for this item has expired but I have been using the plugin for over a year and now while trying to update it says that it is being used on another host. My user name is listeningear Thanks
I’ve reset your license. http://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/your-license-has-been-reset-what-does-it-mean/
It was bound to: https://www.redkite-ra****rs.org.uk
Hi Thanks for that although I am not sure how it had https at the start of the URL it had always had a www URL.
It’s what WP sends to the autoupdate setver, it’s your site URL in the settings.
I am using my licenses for this plugin on a couple of wordpress sites and it does everything i need and want it to do with the minimum of fuss. However, I am thinking of reverting one of those sites to pure html. Is there any possibility of this being used ‘standalone’ in some fashion or do you recommend any other plugin (privately or publicly) that can do the same job on a non-wordpress site ?
Sorry there is no way, about 80-90% of the code is based on WP. I’m not at liberty to recommend other products as I’m only familiar with my own product. If you are a programmer you could separate the JS engine from the PHP, but it wouldn’t be worth the hassle. Or use WP to generate the HTML via PHP then copy paste the code to your HTML… Brick and mortar and you lose configurability and the whole admin. Unless you need it for just 1 gallery, maybe.
Getting the same error on the https host again. license is assigned to http://website but we are using https://website. you reset it for us recently but the latest update will not auto-update :
Automatic update error! This purchase code has already been used on another host! You need one regular license for each different site. You can setup your staging area in a subfolder to have autoupdates on both installations. Contact JIG support to reset your license (only the username is needed).
Your licenses are now released from the previously bound hosts. https://justifiedgrid.com/support/faq/your-license-has-been-reset-what-does-it-mean/
I have a problem with my JIG on my site galeriearchambault.ca WPaccess: andre PassWord: #V503W2S@J I tried all procedure write on the red rectangle. I writed to senior support at SiteGround and they do all procedure. They write me:
Thank you for your patience André, I have tried various solutions like disabling your .htaccess, changing the PHP version, setting default file and folder permissions, as well as the suggestions described on this page: https://justifiedgrid.com/support/fix/all-of-the-images-have-failed-to-load/ But none of them had fixed the issue and the images are showing that they are not accessible with error code 403 Forbidden. I also checked the error logs of the server and noticed that the script timthumb.php is failing to execute properly:Code: Sun Sep 10 13:29:14.082058 2017 pid 23411 End of script output before headers: timthumb.php, referer: https://galeriearchambault.ca/paul-tex-lecor/ Sun Sep 10 13:29:14.093287 2017 pid 23436 End of script output before headers: timthumb.php, referer: https://galeriearchambault.ca/paul-tex-lecor/ Sun Sep 10 13:29:14.108032 2017 pid 23440 End of script output before headers: timthumb.php, referer: https://galeriearchambault.ca/paul-tex-lecor/
If the plugin is trying to execute the script so often, the account executions are caused by the plugin.
You can also contact the developers of the plugin as they are familiar with its source code more than we are and they should be able to advise on why it is not loading the images and causing the PHP executions.
Please do not hesitate to get back to us with any other suggestion from them, and we will be happy to assist further. Thank you. Best Regards, Adem Sherifov Technical Support Team
So, I hope you can help me! André Archambault
Hi,
that’s very nice from your host to go all the way to try to help you. Unfortunately all my knowledge is in that troubleshooting article I don’t know any better than them what’s causing the script to run to 403.
The executions are normal. What isn’t that it stops before the headers.
If you have no luck with the hosting you can always just resort to Jetpack plugin and its Photon module. Have you tried that?
Sorry mate for the bother again,
this code is resizing the gallery well for me so it displays full width.
jQuery(document).ready(function(){ var jigs = jQuery(’.justified-image-grid’); if(jigs.length !== 0){ jigs.data(‘justifiedImageGrid’).createGallery(‘resize’); } });
The problem is that it will do it’s job to display the first facebook gallery, but then I still have to resize the browser for the second facebook gallery right below.
what should I do to resolve this? thanks !
ive actually got three facebook galleries now. I’d really appreciate if you could visit https://www.blaskphotography.com.au/peroni/
password is ‘italy’
so there are 3 instances of jig as I can only display 500 images ( as you know )
If I resize the browser, all is good, but my clients will not know that. How can I edit the jQuery code to action for all three jigs?
thank you !!!!
It should do the action for all the JIGs in the page, but it may be too slow, since the page is loading the images for the first one, when that script runs. The 2nd and 3rd may not have started loading at that point. Have you tried the slower acting script from the troubleshooting article? The one that acts on window load rather than document ready. You can actually have both snippets active in the Custom JS and that should take care of the problem. (It’ll force measuring and resizing 2 times).
Thanks for getting back. I just tried both scripts again, ( i did yesterday, but thought maybe give it a second try )
Unfortunately I think your probably right in that those other two have not started loading yet. mmmm, I may have to come up with another solution. I just love having the screen filled rather than having the images down the middle only.
I know that there are a lot of images it’s probably not practical.
Do you have any other suggestions for me wanting to display such a large number of images? Maybe I just need to upload all to my website rather then have them served from online with the 500 max.
There’s no max amount if they come from real media library is there?
Thanks for your help.
RML is unlimited, but this is also a practical limit. It’s best NOT to show that many images at once, as no matter how you do it, mobile devices will always start to suffer eventually (and not many of the visitors are interested in all that content). I plan on adding pagination and then it would be possible to lift the 500 limit as well.
The thumbnails are still loaded from your own site, so it makes no difference in loading times if your gallery is sourced from Facebook or from RML. Both are about equal.
yes, this morning I uploaded the images via RML from Lightroom and are now served from RML.
I will not usually do this, but for a particular client on this occasion. Everything works great now.
I love the fact that I can send people to my site to view rather than flickr or facebook which doesn’t look professional.
Now I just offer a download link on the website page and hopefully people will hang around my site for a little longer.
I’d like to use the social lightbox which I paid for years ago, but not exactly sure how it intergrates with the ‘likes’ and actual facebook etc or if it’s just a styled ‘look’.
......pagination would be SO good. As a user when I see this method, I like how I get an idea of how many images are included and when I want to go back to a particular spot for an image, I know exactly where to go.
Thanks for all your great effort for this plug-in.
It’s not possible to like the photo outside facebook in a way that it is counted towards the like count of the photo on Facebook itself. It’ll be counted towards a copy that appears on your site. The best social you can achieve (regarding individual sharing) is with prettyPhoto and PhotoSwipe.
ah ha. thanks for the tip. At the moment and have been over the years a fan of foobox, but I’ll check the difference with these other two. Do you mean, in regards for ease of use for the user to ‘like’ ?
No it’s about what get shared and when people follow back your shared content from their facebook, where do they arrive at. Check out the part that says JIG smart deeplinking: https://justifiedgrid.com/lightboxes/photoswipe/
I hope one day to make my grids to span the full width of my content without having to make my entire website 100% full width.
If I could just make my theme work to look like this https://justifiedgrid.com/ I would be the happiest I’ve been all day
Tried for hours. The theme is The 7 dreamtheme and utilising visual composer. Ive read https://justifiedgrid.com/support/fix/#the-gallery-width-is-not-adjusting-and-is-not-responsive and messed around with my theme but I just don’t get it. If I purchase extra support is this something you may be able to help with?
Also, I have emailed foobox, but I can’t display two separate grids on the same post from facebook using foobox. Other lightboxes work fine.
ive just worked it out…..using this method, thanks for your plugin. Its great.
jQuery(document).ready(function(){ var jigs = jQuery(’.justified-image-grid’); if(jigs.length !== 0){ jigs.data(‘justifiedImageGrid’).createGallery(‘resize’); } });
Disregard this whole thread, thank you mate. Just need help on the next one still.
The way I do it on my site is that all pages are 100% width by default but then I wrap all text content in a limited width section. Therefore I can switch back n forth between true 100% width and normal full width sections in a given page.
Since this is not for everyone that’s why theme devs and VC started making the 100% full width container a scripted one that grows out of the boundary, after the page has started loading. This is not done via CSS.
What did you need foobox’ help for?
Foobox would not let another lightbox load a different shortcode of jig on the same page. So, if I had two lightboxes using foobox, it would not load the second one. If I had foobox and then any other lightbox, again, foobox would not allow the other to load.
anyway…...silly I. I just needed to update jig and was solved
There was a JS error with FooBox and previous version of JIG. Yes the update fixed that!
thumbs up !!
