“the connection is not secure. some parts (graphics) on this page are not secure.” I use the plugin “Really simple SSL” and it confirms the page is secure but the browser shows an open lock in the WordPress backend ONLY on the Directory Settings page.

I would consider buying this if there was capabilities of uploading your own category map pins instead of the limitations of font-awesome. Reading your online documentation and other comments, it appears that you could upload your own custom map pin icon for each listing but for websites with many listings, that’s a lot of tedious extra work and the capabilities of uploading your own per category would be beneficial.
It is possible to set up PNG images for categories, as well as font awesome icons. You can upload custom PNG images through FTP into plugin’s folder.

I had a long day, will send you all the info. Problem for now is my csv file import does not read it and the data i manuely upload is not in search. Record Number, Organization Name, Province and Categories. And had to import 90000.

Is “Record number” field of string type? This content field has such option to be searchable “Search by this field?”

I’m adding a listing for a company using the Web 2.0 Directory Plugin. But i’m unable to find where I add more than one address for the company (as they have multiple locations) ... The plugin description does state I can “Set up any number of locations for one listing” but cant figure out on how I do this.

Hi, I’ve noticed the following error message immediately appears when logging into directory listings “Sorry, we were unable to geocode that address (address #0) for the following reason: REQUEST_DENIED”. Locations also don’t display on the map unless coordinates are entered manually and the ‘get directions’ function won’t work either due to the address error. I am currently using version 1.14.10. Can you advise whether 1.14.11 or 1.14.12 include a fix for these bugs? (The changelog didn’t specify) If not, can you please advise when you expect this to be fixed as I have one very irritated vendor at the moment. Thanks

It’s great to have multiple directories but it is unlikely that they would all share the same exact CSS and template. If they did, we could just have one big directory and use different categories to display different entries. What I and probably many others are hoping for is a way to set a specific template and CSS file for each directory, and I think I suggested to you back when 1.14.0 was released is that instead of using
frontend-custom.css
and
search_form-custom.tpl.php
that we could create and name those files based on the directory ID, like
frontend-custom-1.css
or
search_form-custom-2.tpl.php

Hello, multidirectory functionality was added in v1.14.0 and 5 months ago. Currently there isn’t any new documentation, simply copy-paste shortcodes from Directory Admin -> Listings directories page into wordpress pages.

Unfortunately, no, I do not think it is possible in the functionality of the plugin.
How can I setup a search function for a specific directory? Like this from the demo

But have it search a specific directory. I am making a separate listings one and and event one. Which different access levels for the user.
I tried just the basic search one above that example also. I added a listing in the directory with a date and did a search that it should have found it.
But each time I try it it takes me to the home page with no results.
I tried adding id=”2” (the number for the other directory) and without that identifier also. No luck.
There is directory=ID parameter for this shortcode, but it works only for the latest versions of the plugin, which version are you running?

Well that was condescending. So the answer is – I should be using directory=2 if my directory is 2 and not the other element ID=x setup. If I’m wrong let me know otherwise I’ll try the directory=2
When adding listings from the same location like a office building google map background turns to a yellow color and no businesses are visible nor any streets the whole map is a yellow color. Please help

Hi. Web Directory folder does not show in hosting when upload via FTP. But it works. This problem has been a lasting problem we reported a few months back. When the plugin is installed or updated via WP dashboard it shows in WP plugin directory in hosting. But when is uploaded via FTP it does not show in WP plugins folder in hosting. But shows in the plugin list in WP plugin dashboard.

Normally, whether a plugin is installed and updated via WP plugins dashboard or via FTP it shows in WP plugins folder in hosting.
One thing we also noticed is that if Web Directory is installed from WP plugins dashboard and we later update it via FTP, all listings are unpublished and we have to republish them after update via FTP.

Correct. 2 different folders to show you what I’m talking about. 1- When the plugin is installed and updated in WP plugins dashboard. 2- When the plugin is updated via FTP.
How is it related to the plugin itself? It looks like something wrong with your ftp client or server or something else. Did you try to test to upload other folders or files?
Thanks! We have many plugins in that WP installation and only Web Directory does that. Deactivating all other plugins does not fix the issue in order to even think its caused by another plugin. I think is a bug that has to be fixed.

Look, it is just files and folders, they can not affect your ftp client so you do not see them after upload.
I should even said not a regular FTP. We upload all plugins updates via cPanel file uploader. No plugins so far has that problem. They all show in WP plugins folder, except Web Directory.
Did you try to contact hosting support with this problem?
No. Since no other plugin on the server is having the same issue I don’t think is a hosting problem. But if you can prove that, I can call the hosting company and specifically tell them about that.
My site is not yet live, so throughout the testing phase we’ve been clicking on listings to check structure, how they look etc, and have therefore been clocking up Total Clicks stats. Is there any way to clear these to zero when we go live, so they are accurate for the vendors as actual user clicks rather than clicks from me/admin as we tested/uploaded?
Unfortunately, no, there isn’t such way.
This is because of duplicate listings names.
Sometimes even when you edit the custom slug, the -2 continues to be added in your URLs. For example you create a new about page, and your URL looks like this:
http://yoursite.com/about-2/Now wouldn’t you want to get rid of that -2, and simply have it as /about/. This problem occurs when you have the same slug being used already.
Check all your posts and pages to see that there is none that has the same slug (i.e /about/). If you find one, then you need to delete it unless you’re using it. More often than not, you won’t find an active page with the same slug.
This is when you need to look in the Trash folder. When you trash a WordPress post or page, it is not entirely deleted. It sits in the trash for 30 days before it gets permanently deleted. This is done to give you an option to restore trashed item if you accidentally deleted them.
As long as the post or page stays in the trash, the slug cannot be re-used. So if you want to re-use the /about/ slug, then you must delete the About page sitting in the trash folder. Once you do that, you should be able to edit your slug like the method shown above and get rid of the -2.
This technique works for categories and tags as well.

I have even done a url search on what would be the original link and the page is 404 not found so it doesn’t exist right? In addition, I haven’t created any listings twice, I uploaded the content once and then perhaps have edited it from there, but never deleted and started again. As an example http://staging.toxinfreetribe.com/directory/yonuts-2/ there is no /yonuts/ to be found yet the /yonuts-2 cannot be changed.
Probably you have hidden revisions of these listings. Anyway, this is how wordpress works, the plugin itself does not manage listings slugs.

Right, not two directories, so I have one category of listings called “academias” and another called “intercambios” both have different listing levels.
This link is for submitting an “academia”: https://www.eluniversodelingles.com/publicad-academia/ (select price package etc) but if you click sumbit it takes me to submit listing for intercambios> https://www.eluniversodelingles.com/publicad-intercambio-idioma/?directory=1 which is strange because if you click a submit button on intercambios the url is: https://www.eluniversodelingles.com/publicad-intercambio-idioma/ (no ?directory=1)
As for the short codes on each of these pages I am not using a specific submit one. I am using the visual composer “Listing submit”

But I just updated and the problem I had now seems to be solved, however I have a new problem: when a listing is submitted (after clicking the submit button) the following fatal error shows up:

So you have only one type of listings, and submission page will be the same for all listings.
