Hello…

I have few questions.

1.When creating an ecard post I upload an image from add media button and after publishing the image appears twice.

2.When I delete the image post stiil shows it.

3.When I send an ecard without image sending and receiving works just fine. But when I add an image it says sent succesfuly but there is no receiving. I have checked the logs of postman plugin; it says “unable to read the image and no target email written”

What am I doing wrong?

1. You have not read the documentation. You don’t need to insert the image. If you insert it, it will appear twice. The plugin automatically detects any images attached to your post/page.

2. Yes, because you delete the image from the post content, you need to delete it permanently.

3. Not sure. Can I see your page? I am using Postman, as well, and it works properly.

No, go to your post/page, click Add Media, upload an image and you’re done. The image is now attached. You can close the Add Media window without inserting the image.

We purchased this plugin, but are not able to break the eCards into categories, as featured on the demo. There is also no documentation on how to achieve this. Please advise.

What do you mean doesn’t work? This is how WordPress works. You create categories, you create posts and assign them to categories and inside each post you add eCards. This is how the demo works.

If you are talking about the Envato license, it is about using the plugin on one site only. If you want to use it on several websites, you need either to purchase the extended license, or multiple licenses, whichever is best for you.

No, it won’t. It only works with image files (.jpg, .png and .gif).

Hi. Yes, the plugin has these options. It actually has 4 options with various combinations.

It can be integrated with any theme.

Does this plugin work with wordpress 4.6? My host just updated my wordpress from 4.52 to 4.6 and the plugin no longer works—but did before. The selecting the card and filling in form works but never receive the card by email – in spam or regular email – and tried on like 7 different emails (4 gmails, 2 yahoo and 1 aol – mine and my friends) and no one got any ecard in regular or spam. Thanks.

That’s interesting. I’ve been testing it with WordPress 4.6 (alpha, beta, RC) for weeks. It should be working. I am working on an update right now and I will check the email function.

Thanks for reply. Did anything to your knowledge change in email function wordpress 4.6 from 4.52 that maybe something on my hosting end messed up on when they upgraded? I called them and they cannot reverse the version of wordpress back down.

Nothing changed, I am using the lowest level function, wp_mail(). I will investigate tomorrow and test it with several hosting providers and see if they behave as expected.

I’m still having two major problems with this plugin, and though the author has been responsive, he hasn’t actually fixed either problem. Plugin Author, if you are still there, please address these issues asap:

1. Email arrives with the message “Missing Attachment” for no apparent reason.

2. We are charing for sending a card. If someone pays the $1, PayPal returns them to the site so that they can fill in their card details, and then they get a message saying their card was sent. BUT the form is still there, so they could then send multiple cards, without paying another $1 per card. The form shouldn’t be viewable once the first paid-for card has been sent.

I am still here and I will take a more in-depth look tomorrow.

Regarding the payment, this is how the plugin works, you cannot restrict it after the first eCard has been sent, as the action tracking is not reliable. If you want something better, you can try a paygate plugin, but as far as I know, once you paid, the content is unlocked for a certain amount of time.

Great program but couple questions/problems:

(1) Why does my email sent from my site go into spam, but when on your site test your demo it goes into my email and not spam?? I do have noreply email address set up (and actually made also) in the Dedicated email address section as you stated to do.

(3) How do i have a smaller card image but when they click on it, it brings up the correct size image? The images I want sent are like 400 wide by 600 tall but to big to put on page (meaning I have several so want to show smaller thumbnails of the larger images) so have them smaller but when you click on them they just bring up the small image but I want to show the actual size image (though the actual email does have the correct size large image). If this isn’t possible is there a way in next update to add it either by opening another page witrh larger size or have it like all gallerys do (lightbox)?

(3) eCards menu on Admin Screen On left below post?? What is the eCards for in the left hand side of admin (where it says All ecards Add New) – what is the point of this? Nowhere can I see in your instructions or comments anything about what this is for except it will appear ‘below Wordpress Posts’?? Shouldn’t this ACTUALLY be used to upload individual images for individual cards instead of the confusing steps I have listed above?

Hi,

1. It depends on your server and your IP address. Try to use Mail From II plugin (free).

2. Select the size from the eCards Settings section. Pick “thumbnail” or “medium”.

3. No, that menu is not to be used and it should be hidden. You can hide from the eCards Settings section, by unticking the “Show UI” option. Those eCards are there if you need members to be able to manage them (search/archive).

(1) I’ll look into the free plugin (3) Thanks for explanation – and also great for admin to check to see who and when cards were sent.

(2) If I choose medium (or thumbnail or any other size) the image of the card is displayed correctly for the size on the main page with the form. But would like it to display original size (image and not renamed one) when you click the card. What is happening is that when you click the card it is showing you the same size card in picture view as on the listing page because the card has been renamed.

What I Mean from above: a) Have original card name card1.jpg (size 400×600). Put it on medium view it renames the card to card1-230×300.jpg and shows that image when you click on it (though the email sends the correct image named card1.jpg and not card1-230×300.jpg) – but I would like it to show card1.jpg (size 400×600).

b) Have original card name card1.jpg (size 400×600). Put it on thumbnail view it renames the card to card1-150×150.jpg and shows that image when you click on it (though the email sends the correct image named card1.jpg and not card1-150×150.jpg) – but I would like it to show card1.jpg (size 400×600).

I would like the card image to show card1-230×300.jpg on the page with the form and other card images, but if click an individual card image to see larger image for it to show card1.jpg (which is 400×600 and not the 230×300 size one)

And then click one image (say bridge—3rd top left image) to open that in another window with full picture and form showing? Is this part of the program or did you create a gallery of just the images and then did an [ecard] page/post for each individual card – 6 individual pages one for each card?

Again, awesome program and if can’t do #2 not a problem but would be fantastic if it could work. Thanks again for the help. Sorry for length of question but wanted to try to cover all bases so no misunderstanding of my explanation!

This is a pre-sale Questions,

1 – What is that Dropbox API key, is this mean the ecard and sent it need some kind of 3rd-party to host it and monthly service fee?

2 – I clicked to download the image, it DOESN’T show the text BUT just the image? Perhaps people would like to save it on their desktop for later use to show their family or friends.

Is there’s a way this plugin can imply the text with the ecard attach from the download/print from their email received?

3 – My site is already slow, but how heavy weight is this plugin?

4 – If already sent ecard and delete on the admin side, is this mean they no longer able to view their ecard again from their email account (google,yahoo)?

Hi,

1. You can integrate the plugin with Dropbox and send images directly from your Dropbox account. Check out Dropbox.com to see what it is and what it does.

2. The image is separate from the text. The image is sent via email. It’s an eCard, it’s not supposed to be saved or printed.

3. The plugin only adds one separate CSS file. That’s all. It’s very lightweight.

4. No, the eCard is stored in their email account and they can see it anytime they want.

This sounds great and tested great plugin. But I checked out Dropbox, is another 3rd party site to pay monthly fee? Not that I want to pay for.

What other ways not to use that Dropbox in able to use this plugin?

You don’t need to use Dropbox if you don’t want to. That’s just an option in eCards. You can use the plugin without using Dropbox.

Hi, can this plugin be used to generate a printer-friendly version of the card? We want to use this for a hospital to deliver cards to patients from their loved ones over the Internet.

Well, the eCards are sent via email, so, if they can print the email, then yes. Otherwise, it depends on the theme to make the eCard page printable.

When I send an email, even though the email includes the image in the message body, I still get text within the email that says “missing attachment.” I have attached images to the page properly (not inserted them). Seems like a plugin malfunction? Please advise.

Hello..I’ve purchase the ecard plugin but when i upload the ecard in cpanel and try to activate the plugin in wordpress, the ecard plugin didn’t appear in plugin menu in wordpress…can you help me on how to solve it?

Everything is in the documentation. Add a new post or page, add images and add the shortcode.

Hello..I had insert 12 image into my wordpress page, but all image display only in 1 row..may I know how to arrange the image upload arrange in a correct row and column?

You need to style them using CSS. By default, they should appear as a thumbnail grid. Using CSS you can display them as you want.

Note that a new version is coming, which will bring templates, carousels, masonry and flexbox grids.

The update leaves me with a blank page, can I download 3.6.1? I know it worked fine.
