The term /category/ you’ve added as your product category option in the permalinks is reserved for posts. Therefor it’s broken. Please set something else than category and you’ll see that there will be no issues. Thanks.

I tested a lot of customization options, and noticed that the refreshing does not work when function “Enable/Disable Shop Page Product Filter” is enabled. If I uncheck it – then everything is OK. What could be the solution?
And this problem is due to the fact that after reset of filters shows all product of shop, despite the fact that the open a specific category URL. So the question is – how to stay in the same product category after resetting all filters?

No, actually in the Product Filter Advanced Options, on the Clear All Filters, it says, you cannot use this taxonomy filters in your filters if you want this option. Your first filter is a product category and you’re on product category so, this will not work as you expect it to. You’ve got several options, to setup your categories differently so that they can be used as categories in permalinks and as lets say attribute as a sub defining term. This will work as expected. Basically when AJAX is used and permalinks and categories, then in the filter itself it is not advised to have the category filter as it creates issues at the moment, future versions will probably not be like that, but for now it’s just the way it is. You can use simple WooCommerce Categories to switch between categories and then apply the filters you need to further filter your products. Thanks for understanding. Check the demo pages of the filter, there are a few examples of these AJAX Shop/Product Archives and categories filters, so browse those pages to get the idea of what is possible. Yes, of course. We’ve got the filter presets and the filter overrides. Basically you create a preset and assign it to a term, category or tag. Once browsed or searched you’ll get the set preset. Also, we have the Adoptive Filtering option which can be used for this matter too, but it will work automatically by showing only the remaining terms in your filters. Thanks for your interest!

There’s also an option in the Advanced Options of the Product Filter that says Enable/Disable Default Filter Templates – If you have disabled the Product Filter Override Templates option at the top, then your default WooCommerce or Twenty Twelve filter templates will be shown. If you want do disable these default templates too, check this option. This option can be useful for the widget version of the Product Filter. You might want to check this, it might to the trick for you. Thanks for being super patient!

Well, this is customization. I need to state this because this is not included in the support package. That being said, you can provide a link and tell me which text you want larger and I’ll send you the simple CSS which will increase the font size. Of course in the future we’ll expect that you’ll learn a bit of CSS to be able to do this stuff on your own. Thanks for understanding.

Issues are still going on after update.
I updated and still cannot click on the boxes in mobile view.
ALSO, now have a new issue. When I clear the Filter on any page on the site the products shown are not as expected.
I click to clear filters and products shown after clearing are not on the same category. This was not the issue in the last revision.
I use it in a widget.

Is your option in the Advanced Options where you state your Clear All method set to Keep taxonomy permalinks? Also if so, do you have a category filter inside your filter? Because, in the 5.7.0 if you do Clear All will clear all the selected filters from page.

No It is set to Clear All. I tried with both (and reset cache in between) and both show the wrong category after Clear All. Basically all of the filters, Defaults or Overrides are showing the same category on Clear Filter.
I do not have a category filter inside any of my filters. Filters are filtered solely on Product Attributes.
Also, the filters do not show up on mobile. Only the default filter show, no filter overrides. I sent you the link on the previous report, do you need it again?

I am trying to redesign the store layout using the default shop page instead of individual custom pages. I have three levels of categories(parent category for example skin care, second level face care, eye care,etc.. and third level treatment type. Skin care -> Face Care -> Face Serum). I have a two level attribute for Product Brand and series within each brand. I can filter for either the categories and drill down to any level or for any brand series combination. I have set the filters to adoptive and set Select Adoptive Filtering Dependencies to product category and brand-series. I have not been able to figure out how to limit one filter based on selections made to the second filter. I would like to be able to have the customer select face toner under the categories and then be able to see only the brands with face toner items and the series of such items. I have watched the video but I am still clueless. I would greatly appreciate your help in understanding how and if it is possible to create a dependent relationship between the category group and the attribute group.

From what I’ve read I think you want it only dependable on your product categories, meaning in the dependencies select only product_cat So, then you’ll be able to browse categories or filter them and show only the associated brands with them. Hopefully this solves your issue.

Hi As we mentioned in our first request for support, we are using 2 filter group elements.
1. Categories of Cosmetics with a maximum of 2 sub-categories per parent category. (left select dropdown filter in the video) 2. Attributes consisting of brands (parent level) and series of products for the parent brand (right select dropdown box in the video clip)
We did change the dependency to only product_cat as you instructed in your reply. When we select the desired category or subcategory with ajax filtering enabled, the brand-series filter displays only choices of available products that meet both criteria and displays the correct number of products that are available, When you then select the brand-series to further drill down and show only products that are in the chosen category-sub-category and also the selected brand and or series, the filter returns no products found.
We are not using multi-select on either filter. We have tried with and without ajax enabled and with adoptive filtering set yes for both filters or only on one or the other filter but still get returns no products found. We are sure that, one or more of our settings are incorrect but so far we have not found the right combination to get the and link between the categories and attribute filter. Yes, but this is just the way it works. It cannot really know what you want, if you tell me the way in which you would define this in your settings I’ll clearly add it, but how will you say, yes dependable on both, but if I choose this I don’t want to see this, and if I choose this I don’t want to see this, it is just too complex, and at the moment I think that it is good that we’ve got dependencies so at least it can be set in this manner. Thank for your quick reply and support. We have found a simple working solution. The default filter on the shop page just displays the category and sub-category tree using ajax and instant filtering. The category archive page shows the brand-series filter preset. All the parent categories are linked to the brands-series filter with overrides. The category archive page displays only a sub-set of products and the brands-series then displays only the options with products that match the brand-series criteria.

the filter works….BUT 1.) it is not possible to go on page 2 when no filters are set in the category. If you try…the filter is mixing all categories to a cocktail. Please try it on this page:

Well, the best possible way is to use the Attributes or use a custom taxonomy as you’ve described. You can do this with a plugin too, like brands or so, but this will only make another taxonomy similar to tags that you can use for you brands. Product Filter will filter all of these and you’ll need to set it up basically. Since your shop is not quite ready for this, as you only have categories mixed up with everything, it will take a bit longer to adjust. Thanks for your interest.

Yes, of course both statements are true, tags can act as brands, you can also make an attribute called brand which will be your brand, it doesn’t need to be used on product pages, you need only to assign an attribute. Also the brands plugin, does nothing more then create an attribute at the end called ‘pa_brands’ and goes from there. So, you can do this too. One more thing, custom taxonomies are supported in the Product Filter, so either option you choose, you can do it. Thanks for your interest.

Thanks Toby, well it is a good thing that only the show terms function has remained. I’ve been working on the optimization and it does show, the remaining show terms count queries that you’ve shown are due to some people were saying that the term counts are not right. Anyway this can be done simpler and in the new version, by default the terms will be shown in this function, which also means that these queries will be removed by default, but can be added in the options if you need precise term counts. Thanks!

In version 5.7.0 the 1st and last pages display same products. Reproduce steps: 1) Go to last page (it’s display same products as on 1st) 2)Return to 1st 3) Go to last again – (now all good, but products shows not in default order) It’s looks like a problem with sorting.
