Loving the plugin so far, great work! Just a quick question. If a user is going to submit a new listing, they can’t enter their own city unless the administrator has added it in the back end… This makes it very hard because we can’t afford to spend the time to input every City, from every Province in the locations ID section. Is there anyway we can make it so that the user can input a city?
The second way to work with addresses is to remove all predefined locations, so users will input whole address.
I’m the person who will create all the listings on my site.
I’m putting the standard contact form on the listing page, not the CF7 one.
Once I’m the listing owner to the plugin, all those contact forms will be emailed to me, obviously that’s not what I want. How can I set the contact form destination address of each listing without creating hundreds of users on my wordpress back-end?
In short, I want to control everything on my site, but I need the contact forms sent to email address I type.
Contact emails will be send to listing author, so you may create new user with needed email address and assign listing to that user. This is the only way.
Still talking about the standard contact form, is there any way to change where the success message appears? It’s appearing above the form fields, but that way some visitors won’t understand if the message was sent or not.
I think if it would be displayed in other place – lots of visitors won’t understand that the message was successfully sent.
I want to display the success message below the form fields, instead of above them. That way the message will display very close to the Submit button, instead of far from it.
So you have to customize w2dc/templates/frontend/listing_sibgle.tpl.php template for you needs.

I tried editing some of the files (‘contact_form.tpl.php’, ‘ajax_controller.php’, ‘listing_single.tpl.php’ for example) but I didn’t find where to cut/paste the code just to replace the message.
I’m assuming it’s just a cut+paste of the code, right?

No worries, I found it in the postmeta table.
Ops, it’s not working. Even by setting the status on the database, the listings are not displayed unless they are updated manually one by one. I should load thousands of listings. Could you help me please? Thanks.
Also listings must have “publish” post_status in wp_posts table.
They have the publish status, and actually their single pages are visible, but they are not listed in the directory. In the admin panel, when checking the listings they have the “active” mark but when open one of them for editing, in the info box the mark is not present, and it appears only after pressing the update button.
I’m not sure what you are trying to make and how did you create such listings. listings also must have another meta information.
I checked the postmeta table of other listings I added manually and I noticed that there are others such as _edit_last and _order_date. I added them also to my plugin and it worked. I don’t know actually which of those postmetas did the trick, but it works perfectly. I let you know it just in case others are trying to add listings from other servers by using webservices.
In my country where the geocoding is not working 100%, using the listings entered address to calculate directions will most of the times be wrong. In my opinion, the “directions to” function should use the coordinates of the map marker instead. Is this something you can look into or give me a hint on how to change?

Is there a way to completely disable the maps everywhere in the system? Don’t need maps or addresses for what I’m trying to use it, I just can’t figure out how to disable the maps and address functionality.
Also, how do you limit the user to choosing only one category?

From my understanding and reading an earlier topic in this discussion i understand that it should filter the output. But when I do use it, it shows all ads, I tried using shortcode and visual composer to generate the page but the result is the same.

Hello. Thankyou for getting back to me. listtype is the field slug for the new field I created. I have then set four values that a user selects via when posting an ad. These are. For sale, For Rent, Exchange, Wanted. I wanted to have a page of just ads that are for sale only so I used the shortcode above; the value 1 was used as it is the first option in the list. However the page displays all ads not just ads that are for sale. I tried using visual composer to achieve this and selected the relevant options but I get the same result as when I used the shortcode.

• Do users have to login to our site before submitting a listing? We need the ability for any user to submit listings, even if they are not logged into the site. • Can we approve listings before they are shown on the site? • Do you have any experience with integrating this plugin with the WordPress theme “NewsPaper6? We are wondering if they work well together in your experience. • Can we use this plugin without payment/money options? • Can we set an expiration for listings? So that they are removed from the site after a set amount of time. • Can we customize the “submit new listing” page so that we can strip away many of the areas? (For example: we will not need the google maps area) • Is there a full backend demo that we can test somewhere?
We are basically looking for the basic function of Cragslist, if that helps. Most of the listings will probably be job listings or basic company info listings. But we only need the plugin on one page of the site. Not to be the entire site.

users may submit listings without login and admin may review them before publish. Unfortunately do not have experience with NewsPaper6. Payments addon is optional. There is such functionality as active period, after expiration listings will be hidden. i did some test and here’s the results
Test 1 - with State column (as word not loc ID), Address column as address part 1, City column as address part 2, import successful, NO Listing on homepage and Pin Marked in the map
Test 2 - No State, Address column as address part 1, City column as address part 2, import successful, Listing on homepage is OK, NO Pin Marked in the map
Test 3 - No State & City, Address column as address part 1, import successful, Listing on homepage is OK, NO Pin Marked in the map
Test 4 - Added State (as Location ID), Address column as address part 1, City column as address part 2, import successful, Listing on homepage is OK, NO Pin Marked in the map
Test 2 to 4 - the pin map marker will only show IF i edit a listing and save it without touching anything.

First of all there is such option “Geocode imported listings by address parts” on CSV import page. It must be enabled when you do not have latitude/longitude information in CSV file. http://www.salephpscripts.com/wordpress_directory/demo/documentation/#import
Also this functionality requires cURL extension on your server. In some cases Google API server key required and this API must be enabled in the console: Google Maps Geocoding API https://code.google.com/apis/consoleFinally you may try to add a country column, so geocoding would be more accurate.
yes i enabled that “Geocode imported listings by address parts” when import also i enabled all google api according on the settings all is fine when adding manually but like i said when i tried to import the pin marker is not showing up unless i edit them without touching anything…

Does search by radius work on your site with test listings?
Also note that you can only import maximum of 2500 addresses per day, this is the max query limit of the Google geocoding service, unless you have a Google Maps API business license.
Hi there I was just wondering if there is a way to add more options in order to “bulk edit” listings. For example, if after importing we want to do a bulk change of categories or locations, it doesn’t appear to allow this?

the plugin looks very good, but i am not entirly sure if it suits my needs, therefore i have some questions before buying it:
In the descryption it states that the entry / Profile can be extended with several fields and that those are also searchable. are there also filters for those fields?

I have used many directory scripts that come with themes etc. I have to say that every time, this plugin beats them all. It is fast, fits every template, has pre defined visual composer layouts included ( if you have VC of course ). It is simply top draw!! Great product.

hi we tried to import 15,000+ total of lines, but it only 579 was imported i thought it was just loading but it seems stop at 579…
no listings was showing up, also when i tried to edit a listing the Country and State was not set, but on my csv i have Address (street # and street name), State, & City columns and set them as address 1, 2, and 3 also marked the set Geocode imported listings by address parts.

when the size of your CSV file is very large – this may slow down the server and break the process of import, you may try to split the file into smaller CSV files.
You can not import separate locations using the plugin, such as states or countries.
These fields are predefined locations, if you need to use them – build locations tree and include IDs of locations in CSV column.
In other case you may remove all predefined locations at Directory Listings -> Directory locations, so addresses lines (address, city, state, zip) will be used. In such case Country, State, City fields will be hidden.
2 possible ways to import addresses and locations for new listings: define already existed directory location ID or you may select up to 4 address parts in different CSV columns (e.g., building number in one column, street in another column, city in separate column, ......).http://www.salephpscripts.com/wordpress_directory/demo/documentation/#import
my csv file is only 1.6MB is that big? or i just need to limit the lines like import only 1000 lines or rows?

This does not matter will you remove the state column or not as soon as it will not be used.
1000 rows may be too big value, because currently it accepts only 579 lines. Also you may try to increase performance of the server.

The plugin itself does not have any limits.

Yes, this listing level column is required.
You have to create this state in Directory Listings -> Directory locations and then specify its ID in CSV column.
is it possible to allow single State only when submitting listing? like Texas?
Do you mean local directory for Texas only? Yes, it is possible.
