Hello I search a plugin for ecards like this. But in Germany you need a Double-Opt-in for using it. I could not find about it. But is it possible to use with Double-Opt-In for the Mailadress?

Well, the sender doesn’t get an email, so there’s no need for a double opt-in system.

It is not about getting the eMail. The point is to be sure that the sender is really the sender and here takes place no abuse and a false sender (authenticity!) can be entered. ;-)

Well, there’s no way to do it. I could send an email from your site saying that I’m someone else. You could check it by sending an email to my email address, then verifying it, then returning to the site with a temporary account.

The way you could do it is to allow members only to send eCards. You could add double opt-in for members.

Hi,

I’ve installed the plugin on: http://inspired-by-people.nl/inspirerende-e-cards

But I don’t recieve any cards. They are also not found in my spam folder. Can you see what is going wrong?

Thanks!

Hi.

Have you created a dedicated address on your domain? Are you using the “Mail From II” plugin?

I’ve just created a dedicated address and it worked! Thanks for the quick response!

You are welcome!

Don’t forget to rate the plugin if you find it useful.

Great plugin – looks good – however I believe I have found a bug: First: When a user chooses a image/ecard from the library AND an image from their own computer and sends to the recipient immediately, the ecard image appears in the body of the email (as it should) and the computer-uploaded image is in the email as an attachment… I don’t think this is good, but I can live with it (I think the uploaded image from the sender’s computer SHOULD BE the image in the Email body…

Second: When a user chooses an ecard AND an image from their computer and does a SCHEDUALED send, the receiving email gets THAT uploaded image IN the body of the email… which is how it should work…

I believe this to be a bug… http://sadbegonesmiles.com/e-cards-2/

send an ecard IMMEDIATELY and then send a scheduled email and you’ll see what I mean

Looking forward to a fix

Thanks

Done, it’s fixed. I will post version 3.6 tomorrow morning. Contact me via email if you want it before that.

Hi – is 3.6 out yet?

Yes, 3.6.0 has just been released. It should be live by tomorrow and you’ll get a notification.

Implementation on my site is seamless. I am very happy with this plugin! http://www.nelsdrums.com/personal/raunchy-valentines-cards

Forget… Just let it go.. You said you would do the customization for me..

I asked you to contact me via email so we can talk. This is not a default feature and it would need some customization. I’m sorry if this didn’t work for you.

I know, and I have sent you TWICE e-mails.. No answer…

Hmmm…. been sitting at this registration page [https://getbutterfly.com/welcome/sign-up/] for over a hour… Is there an email for support?

Did you get my email?

nope… try my personal email address phillippankey@gmail.com

Hi. Love this plugin! But I have one little prob.. In the link to show the eCard in e-mail, it just links to the the card-template, not the card that is sent. (IN e-post it looks good and fine, but not on link.):

The link to the card (that I get in the WP-admin/eCards is: http://www.trollheimendesign.no/?ecard=ecard-20160204-104425 – On that page message and everything shows up, ands thats FINE ! :)

But the link in e-post links just to: http://www.trollheimendesign.no/send-et-valentines-kort/thatsjust/ that will be wrong, because the message and stuff dont shows.. Plz help fix this :)

The plugin works as expected, this was a client misunderstanding. I will edit the documentation and the description/help paragraphs to make it even more clear for users how the plugin works.

Thats not the point.. You told me you would fix case.

The plugin works as expected, this was an extra customization.

Hi, There is nothing in documentation. I have a question how to add multiple eCards in post/pages just like demo? Thanks

Everything is in the documentation.

Create a new post or page, add several images, add the [ecard] shortcode and you’re done.

I just bought the plugin, hoping it was possible to add the image selected as a header, and not just an attachment-file. How do I incorperate the image selected in the message? Example: Header/Image [Footer]

Is this possible, or did I just waste $15, since this could be done with a standard contactform :)

im using Outlook, Gmail & Thunderbird. It works if I pick an image from the “radio”, but if I dont use the “radio-option” and only uses upload, it dosnt add the image inline :)

I am going to check it this week. There is an update pending for both the plugin and the theme.

This is fixed in version 3.5.2. An update version will be available this week.

Hello – I sent a test ecard from your demo: http://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-ecards/full_screen_preview/1051966 /a> to several email addresses (MSN/hotmail), and they all went into spam. If I purchase the plugin and configure using WP Mail From II, will this help prevent identify as spam? Your insight is appreciated!

There are many factors which prevent sending it as spam. WP Mail From II, a dedicated email address, such as noreply@domain.com and a clean domain/site will help.

I know you can hide link to source but is it possible to have the system NOT produce a page with the ecard viewable to the public (anyone who may have the URL)? Ideally I would only want the email to be sent, and no online version produced for Google to discover.

There is no option for this yet. You can hide it if you’re using an SEO plugin. Yoast’s SEO plugin does it very good. I’ll add an option in the next version, though, early January.

I have added an option in version 3.5.2. The updated version will be available this week.

I have designed a Christmas card site but I can’t promote it until the stripslashes issue is fixed e.g “What’s up” get’s turned into “What\’s up”. Any chance of an update in the next day or two because I can’t promote the site yet and it’s almost Christmas. See www.awestruck.tv/christmas

will definitely rate it but I’m hearing the queue is one to two weeks and Christmas will have gone by then and all my work on the Christmas cards site will have been for nothing. Under the circumstances could you please consider emailing me the update to uwangalema[at]gmaildotcom. Thanks!

Thanks for the update. All looking good!

Hi,

Can we add a video to the card?

No, that is not possible.

I noticed that your fields don’t properly stripslashes, I get slashes in my content all over the place. To reproduce, send an ecard to yourself through your demo site. I sent the text “What’s up”, but the email I received said “What\’s up”.

Also happened when I had slashes in the field names in the plugin settings. You need to stripslashes everywhere you have user input.

I also receive a Headers Already Sent error message upon plugin activation. http://cl.ly/1K441f0f0U3L

Got it! Will fix everything for the next version!

This is fixed in version 3.5.2. An updated version will be available this week.

This plugin is extremely frustrating – your documentation is out of date (“Upload the wp-ecards folder” – this folder does not exist in the download provided by Envato) and there are many errors in this.

Your friend\’s email address – why is this \ there? I can’t make it go away. How do I add images? Documentation is no help there either.

Also, your support tab goes to a site with no support, and no way to register. Very frustrating after paying for this.

Hi Mike,

The folder is called ecards, I need to change the documentation, but I’m sure you understand what directory I am talking about.

Regarding the backslash, it must be an encoding issue on your site, I will check and release an updated version. You add images by uploading them to your post or page (the one you added the [ecard] shortcode on). That’s all.

You are right about the support tab, I will fix it as soon as possible.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else. An updated version and the new support link will be available by tomorrow, at noon.

At a loss here, tried to get into support but can not even register. Page with short code comes up with script error and it’s totally unclear where to upload new images. It says; Images should be uploaded directly to the post or page, not from the Media Library. To my knowledge, all images uploaded into a page end up in the media library. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Nickelton,

Yes, images should be uploaded to a page (they will end up in the Media Library, of course), but you need to use the Add Media button on that page. The plugin will check for attached images.

If you upload images directly into Media Library, you need to attach them to your post or page. There are free plugins which allow you to attach images to posts/pages.

What do you mean you cannot register? This is very important, please detail it.

Hi I tried the link to the demo site but got this error message. Is there something I can do to see the demo site

The client and server don’t support a common SSL protocol version or cipher suite. This is usually caused when the server needs SSLv3 support, which has been removed.

Thanks

Hi John, I think you need to update your browser or run a malware check. Or both. That error comes with a Chrome version lower than 39.

Is there a way to add a border around the emailed Card with CSS (or similar) without updating all the card images?

No, CSS is tricky inside email clients.

From the screenshots this looks quite complex. Does this plugin work in conjunction with your imagepress? and your theme? How long on a vanilla wordpress install would it take you to install and have running all three? Then I can work out the true cost having to pay a programmer install. Cheers it looks great

No, eCards is totally separate and different from ImagePress. eCards is very easy to install on any theme, although it has a theme available for download. Same for ImagePress, there is a theme called Noir UI, but it’s easy to get both plugins up and running on any theme, except one-page themes.

I hate to ask questions on a $15 item but if I know whats possible form the start I wont waste days tring to get it to do something it cant. So her goes! I want joe to be able to upload an image from the frontend to my site then He and others to be able to select said image and send it to somone. The images should display in some sort of gallery. Plus Points would be if text could be overlayed on image and a logo placed in one corner obviously automaitcally. Your definition above of easy and mine may be different mine is i buy the plugin I plug it in and it works. :)

Hey, no worries! No, the plugins won’t do that, Joe is able to upload images from the frontend using ImagePress. Using eCards, you won’t be able to see ImagePress images so there’s no way Joe can send the images he previously uploaded. Also, there’s no way to overlay text using eCards.

The plugins might help you if you hired a developer to code these changes. But they won’t work out of the box.

Hi, I just uploaded latest version but I get an error during activating

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/onlinewe/public_html/santa-store.com/wp-content/plugins/ecards/includes/functions.php on line 196

Now the ecard function stopped working Please help

running PHP 5.4

Got it. I’m working on it.

Thanks, it’s working again!

You’re welcome. I think it’s the theme builder, as I’ve encountered this issue before. The shortcode content isn’t parsed properly. I will try to add some checks for this behaviour in the next release.
