I’ve just updated the plugin and not only did it completely break my site, but I’m also facing another serious issue.
Before purchasing the plugin, I clearly asked whether it could be used in a multisite environment, and your team confirmed that it could. However, today I see that the plugin can only be activated on a single site within my multisite network.
Even though I removed these two lines: if(is_multisite()) and define(‘NETWORK_ADMIN_CONTROL’, true); in /alter/alter.php, the problem persists.
This is not what was promised prior to purchase. Please let me know how this can be resolved as soon as possible.

Regarding support, I agree with you if I make a specific request. But that’s not the case here. I had version 2.4.8 and it worked perfectly. Since installing 2.5.1, I’ve been getting nothing but errors and I’m forced to revert to version 2.7.8.
I activated the license on one of my network sites, and now I can’t use it on other network sites! What do I do?
I’m waiting for your reply to my last question before opening a ticket… in the meantime, I’ve reverted to the old version. I’m wasting a lot of time on this! It’s a shame, and thank you for your help!

is there ACL? as I do want to contorl who access what? based on user roles?

There is no ACL. You can hide the media library menu for any roles however it won’t restrict the access when inputting the direct URL to the media library.
If you want to restrict the menu, you can purchase WPShapere and WPSPowerbox, which will restrict the menu items rather than just hiding them. It’s your choice.

The plugin will simply hide the menu items you choose, but this doesn’t mean that unchecked items will grant access to restricted menu items, such as the ‘Appearance’ menu for low level roles like ‘Authors’ users.
In simple terms, you can hide an unrestricted menu item from a user role, but you cannot permit access to restricted menu items based on WordPress user levels.

Turn off the error reporting by changing the define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
to define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false );
It is not recommended to turn on on live websites.

The WP_DEBUG parameter is non-existent in wp-config.php file, so I assume it is off.
I am getting this error in the error_log file – not an error on the website.
I have been using your plugin for years and love it. The one issue I continue to have that I was hoping would be resolved at some point, but never was is the following – due to how your plugin is coded, it has compatibility issues with quite a few other plugins, whereby if it has an issue with a plugin if you try to change the ‘MANAGE ADMIN MENU’, it won’t save and will instead give a 404 error on front end of the website.
Here is the list my team has compiled so far of plugins that need to be temporarily deactivated in order for any admin menu changes to save properly.
Better Notifications for WP, Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights, Smush, WPC Added To Cart Notification for WooCommerce, WP Forms Lite, WP Private Content Plus.
This issue is consistent regardless of the version of PHP used, and always with the latest updates to WP.
Hoping your team may be able to test with a few of these to see the issue for yourselves (most plugins above free versions work), so you can resolve this.

We have tested with free plugins from the above like Smush, WPC Added To Cart Notification for WooCommerce and WP Forms Lite and WpAlter manage admin menu is working just fine without any issues. The issue could be something else.

I’ve tried my same testing on a fresh install with no theme and just a few of those plugins with same results. If any of the plugins I mentioned are enabled, the admin menu within your plugin absolutely won’t save and gives a 404 error until I disable those. I would be more than happy to send you a video of my testing, or screenshot or whatever else I can to help.

hello, I have a problem with your plugin. I installed it on a WordPress multisite. Each time a modification is made to the plugin, the modifications are carried over to all other sites on the network. Example: modification on site A and the modifications are made automatically on site B. I do not want the modifications to be duplicated on the other sites. Each site is unique. Thanks for your help.

It’s just a warning message and that won’t break the website. Just turn off the WordPress debug in wp-config.php file

change this line of code to

The report doesn’t have proper explanation of the found vulnerability and the version they reported is 1.0 which is so many years back. The initial version of the plugin used base64 code for exporting and importing functions which may be reported by automatic security software. The latest version of WPAlter is 2.4.8 and doesn’t have used base64 methods for any functionality. So you don’t need to worry about it.

Hi Team,
found 2 issues. When you change text in the backend with 2 settings enabled, and you try to delete them to none, there is a critical error on the website. But more important than that, is that if you enable custom style for admin pages, the pattern preview images in the block editor are not being loaded at all. Only if I disable “Disable Alter styles for admin pages.” it works again.
