hello, i just got this plugin and i use the voting function on 2 custom post types, is it possible to get the vote limit to 1vote per post type per day ?

Unfortunately, no, the votes are only limited based on post ID. If you wanted to implement that, there would be some major changes in how the plugin checks for votes.
I need a vote plugin to vote “elements” on a page (not single posts / pages), so a widget to put in different places of a page with unique voting values, does this plugin supports this?
No, this plugin only allows for likes/votes on posts, pages and custom post types.
The votes affect the post ranking? .. like Post list by number of voting
I checked the demo and it does not seem to work properly. I liked your tail.select post and it said thanks for … then i went to another post and then came back to this tail.select post … the like was gone … i clicked the like again and it incremented and said I have already liked it … quite weird.
That is correct behaviour. Your like has been recorded, but it doesn’t show as “Liked”. If you try again, though, you’ll get that message.
Why is the plugin no longer maintained? I’ve been looking for a good voting plugin for photos, GIFs and videos for a long time!

Pre purchase question, My requirement to have single vote button on candidate profile(It will be a post) the user can vote a multiple candidate profiles, that is he can vote multiple person in the same category, but he cannot vote a single candidate multiple times. so is this possible with this plugin? also is email id restriction can be set up, like for ex a user with email if xyz@gmail.com can vote a single person one time only so there by restricting the number of voting on a single profile Also i need to know your IP filtering is valid for how many days? is it for single day or till the cookie session expired? I strictly want the user should vote once only to a single candidate till the voting is on ,so can this is possible?
Restriction is based both on a cookie and on IP address. There is no email-based restriction, as the plugin needs to work both with logged-in users and without.
It should work for your scenario. The plugin was originally created for a candidate contest, lasting 3 months. The fraud rate was very, very small. It’s impossible to protect the voting 100%, but if you combine the IP restriction, the cookie restriction and registered members only, then you have the perfect formula.
Hi, Thanks for clearing my doubts, i really appreciate it, the only thing that is bothering me is that, when i click vote button,for the first time it will accept and increase the count, but when i click again, i should get the error message like you already have voted,u cannot vote again or something like that, as user may not understand why the count is not going up. even when the user vote first he should get a message on screen thanks for your vote, if this can be done i will look forward to purchase the plugin. if u can give me instructions to set this up, i will purchase it. looking forward for your reply
Yes, you are right, there is no message. I will add a customisable message in plugin’s options for the next version, most likely next Monday.

If you add it using the PHP template, then yes. There is documentation on how to do it inside the plugin.

Hi, Sorry to bother u again , my client has few concerns with IP restriction Voting condition: What happens when for e.g.: All of us from same office try voting – how does the IP treat it? When different people use same computer to vote for same or different people for e.g. a shared family computer or more importantly an NGO having multiple youth using the same computer – we cannot give less rights to people with shared access!, so what will happen in this situation? and in a situation like this will this solution work ?
You can remove the IP restriction and only keep the cookie restriction. This is done via a small change in the plugin files, in /like.php.

yes, that would work, might just show “163” so i dont have to deal with modifying the extra text 
This is, finally, done.
Use [vote5count id=”78”] to display the vote count for a particular post or page ID.
Also, you can now use the main function to show the vote button for a certain ID:

You can add the voting button to all posts or to specific posts. The plugin does not do any type of detection.

If you set posts with different logos, then the plugin will use the posts to set the votes. So, to answer your question, yes.
Hi there. It seems that whenever I manually place the code in the page template the option to limit the voting button to just one category no longer works. Is that option only available when you automatically place the code, or is there a way to manually place the code and still have the button show up on just one category?
This is the correct behaviour. If you manually place the button, it will appear everywhere. The category restriction only works when the button is automatically placed. I will look into the code and change this behaviour. Expect an update by the end of this week.
